How the traditions have continued

How the traditions have continued

The jungle was eerily quiet as the only thing that dared make sound was a flock of multicolored birds that ranged in different sizes and shapes.

The birds seemed to be building up to something as they watched an empty patch in the jungle that surprisingly had no green grass or vines covering it.

Revealing the dark soil that hadn't seen the light in years and had dried because of the sun and was now locked like a scar on the jungle.

The birds kept ramping up the noises making an almost chanting sound before they all stopped at once in perfect harmony.

*ROAR*

A giant roar was heard as a male Jackrixis appeared from the surrounding jungle appearing in the center in seconds and quickly looked around for something.

And after some silence, more roars sounded as multiple Jackrixis poured from the jungle and started fighting each other as punches and kicks flew around.

The original rixis was already on the ground but was doing something strange he had both his hands on his head as if surrendering.

After a few minutes as the brawl went on, more rixis lay down and gave up as they lay there bloodied and bruised.

Finally, in the end, there was only one male left there standing while other females and males lay in shame

as the male quickly looked around and walked.

Towards the spot the first male took the was a small bump in the ground that made him slightly taller than the others around him as he looked at them.

He puffed his chest as he stared the other in the eye making sure that each one of them saw it was him who won and then he sported a smile.

That was expected what wasn't was that so did everyone else as if they were in on a joke only they knew about and got up.

You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.

As the male raised his arms and roared but also laughed as everyone started putting each other on the back and showing respect to the winner of the brawl.

You would think they would be angry or sad but that was not present here as they all held pride for themselves and others of their race so they know.

That they were simply not as skilled or strong or lucky whatever it may be and the winner did a good job at winning the brawl they were happy for him.

They would learn from this and get better and make sure they win the next brawl that happened at the end of every season.

This was a way to keep connected to a family member who left for new lands and would come back for the brawl but also to keep them in touch.

With what they were and also to make sure they got better at fighting each other which was always needed when it comes to finding mates and even friends in some cases.

Once the celebration was over and some small handfuls of food were given to them all the surrounding birds flew down to different Jackrixis.

Some small red birds landed on the heads of some of the younger rixis while the orange birds landed on the arms or shoulders of the older rixis.

But so far no Jackrixis had found or befriended an older form of the bird with the larger yellow and multi-colored birds still in hiding.

But it was obvious the two races had now formed a type of bond and tradition that they both took part in while the birds seemed happy with the arrangement.

In the far lands of the desert, a group of older Jackrixis each had a younger child in front of

them. The adults put their hands on the

kid's shoulders as they all stared at each other.

Then the adults nodded as the first kids put forth a skin of a snake a meter long that the others looked at and nodded.

This is how the rest followed as they pulled out the prey they had caught and killed themselves and would then present it to the group to see who'd.

Done the best on the hunt through the desert and was also a show of which young one and the most promising future and best teacher.

In their middle was now a snake and the eyes of a sand rabbit while next to that wad the claws of a sand digger and a bladed worm.

These were all inhabitants of the desert who fought and survived the endless and ever-changing lands.

The winner was a female who had managed to kill a horde of a lizard who was hard to kill and positions not to mention the size of a big dog.

The others gave her congratulations in the form of pats on the back and chest bumps among others as they still need to create a language.

This was how the trophy hunter continued the legacy of its original creator and all took great pride in the legacy they hold.

Back to some were wetter and cooler was the ocean that was found where currently two rixis were racing from the beach to the water and back each with a fish or crab in hand as they raced each other.

This was the tradition for the rixis who hunted in the water and were racing to see who could get the most prey in a certain period.

While the others watched on and cheered on the two competitors until eventually, a male rixis won having a small pile of fish and crustaceans together.

He was once again congratulated and then the two piles of food were given to those who watched and they all feasted on the prey.

There were just a few of the multiple traditions blossoming throughout the Jackrixis race that would change and grow as time went on.
