Chapter Fifty - The Fire Mage
Jason and Freya were sleeping in his bed. He woke up and smiled wide. He was so happy. She was feisty and she made jokes with him all the time. Freya was also incredibly beautiful.
She was snoring a lot though. Jason laughed at his drooling new girlfriend and got out of bed. He kissed her on the cheek, got dressed and went to make some tea. He sat outside the front door on a bench as the morning sun rose. Ogden walked up to him.
“The power running through you is very strong, Jason.” The old man said. “I was wondering if you had time today to learn some magic.”
“Yes! Of course! And then I can make you a sword at the blacksmith here, in the Castle of Flowers.”
“You don’t have to craft me a sword, It would just be an honour to train with you.” Ogden said.
“Let’s go now.” Jason said. He tipped his tea into the bushes nearby and placed the cup on his chair.
They walked to the outer gate and out into the flower meadows. They walked a little bit into the forest and Ogden started to teach.
“The Fireball spell is guaranteed to work if you can hold a strong vision of fire. The stronger you imagine the fire, the stronger your fire blast will be.” Ogden said. “Now try on that stump.” Ogden pointed to a tree stump in the middle of a rocky clearing.
Jason imagined the dragon’s fire and punched. A fireball came from his hand and the tree stump exploded.
“Perfect!” Ogden said. He extinguished the fire with a wave of his hand. It was as if he blew out the flame like a candle.
“A second spell I must teach you.”Ogden said and he pulled out his sword. “Similar to the first spell, you must imagine a great fire, and then you slash with your blade. Like this.”
Ogden sliced through the air and Jason was amazed to see a beam of light flash forward. The beam of light followed the stroke of the blade, except it moved like a projectile. The light moved like a bullet, and it sliced a tree diagonally. The tree gently slid down on an angle and impaled itself in the ground. Jason’s jaw dropped open.
“You just cut that tree in half!” Jason said excitedly.
“Yes, fire magic is pretty cool, young Lord.” Ogden said. “Now you try.”
Jason tried several times but could not manage to swing a beam of light forth from his blade. Ogden kept pushing him to keep it up.
Jason closed his eyes and thought of Freya. He sliced with his blade and a beam of light shot forth. He sliced a tree in half, the same way that Ogden had done so. Suddenly Jason felt quite tired.
“I did it!” he shouted. Ogden smiled.
“One more then, young Jason.” Ogden said. He clasped his hands together and rubbed them, then he opened his hands, as if he was holding an invisible orb. A small fireball grew in his hands. Occasionally the fire would glow bright red, or sometimes pink.
“This is an eternal flame, Jason.” Ogden said slowly. “This is a fire that will never die. Not unless I say so. It can glow underwater, in the freezing snow, in the darkest caves or the highest peaks. It requires no fuel, only a vessel to hold it. A lantern, or a candle.”
Jason was mesmerised by the fire. Something seemed very different about this particular flame.
Ogden smiled. “I won’t force you to make one of these. It shortens the lifespan of a mage to conjure this spell.” Ogden pushed the flame inside his body and Jason watched as Ogden’s heart glowed and then went back to normal.
“You can conjure an eternal flame from your heart.” Ogden said. “You must think of someone you love.” Ogden blushed. “I think of my wife, Lola. She was… Incredible.”
“Thank you, Ogden.” Jason said. “Seriously, thank you. I promise I will make you a sword. Although I cannot promise it will be a flaming one.”
“Thank you, young Jason.” The mage said. “You surprised me with that fireball. I didn’t know…” Ogden thought. “I didn’t know they could be so powerful.”
Jason blushed. He was proud of his magic, even though he wasn’t exactly sure on how to conjure it on command. Jason and the Old Mage walked back to the castle, and Jason waved goodbye as they reached Rodrick’s home.
Jason stepped inside and was surprised to see Stella sitting on the couch. Rodrick was sitting at the dining table looking amused. Rodrick pointed to Stella quietly.
“Stella,” Jason spoke.
“Jason, I…” Stella said, she was flustered.
“Stella,” Freya said, nodding at the girl as she walked out from Jason’s bedroom.
“Freya?” Stella said in an accusatory tone.

“Stella.” Jason said firmly. “Why are you here?”
“Can we talk, Jason?” She asked.
“Come outside, we can talk there.”
“Okay.
Jason and Stella stood outside Rodrick’s front door.
“I caught Aaron sleeping with someone else,” she said, and she buried her face into his chest.
“I told you he was like that, Stella. I told you that two years ago.” Jason said firmly.
“I thought he changed.” She sobbed.
“This isn’t my problem anymore, Stella.”
“I don’t have anybody!” She screamed. “I lost my family and my dogs and my house and my friends.”
“You had me,” Jason said coldly.
“I know,” She wailed. “I know. I want you back.” She cried but Jason just sighed. He did not hug her back.
“Why don’t you take my house in Buttermilk. I’ve had the villagers rebuild me a house. You can go live there and you might meet someone from town. You can leave here.” He said. He still loved her.
“Will you come with me?” She begged, sobbing.
“No, Stella.” Jason said. He grit his teeth. “I live here now. The king has given me some land and a title. I am a lord. Why couldn’t you have waited for me to be a lord? Instead you’re the girlfriend of a rotten chicken baron.” Jason said angrily. “He was courting every single girl in Buttermilk, I told you that!”
“Jason!” She wailed.
“Stella. Stop. Please.” Jason asked.
It was intoxicating having his dream girl fawn over him so much. He was tempted to take her back. He still really loved Stella, but Freya was just inside, listening to every word. He’d lost his virginity to the Elf Princess, but Stella was just the daughter of a cow farmer.
Jason felt bad for Stella, but he felt she got what she deserved. He removed himself from her embrace and went inside. He shut the door gently.
Stella started to cry quietly as she walked back to Aaron’s house.
Later that night, as Jason and Stella walked to the tavern, he saw Stella getting onto a horse to ride to Buttermilk. Aaron was trying to convince her to stay but her face was furious. She kicked the horse and galloped into the night.
Jason was worried about bandits on the road.
He walked into the tavern with his friends and sat down.
“Hey guys, I’m not in the best mood for tonight. I think I might go home and sleep.” He said. The table of adventurers bullied him for being soft.
“Do you want me to come with you?” Freya asked Jason.
“Not right now.” Jason said quietly. He left the table and walked outside. He sprinted to the stables and found Bronson eating hay. He put on his saddle and mounted up. He galloped out of the gates towards Buttermilk.
After twenty minutes he saw Stella on the road ahead. She was holding a lantern and riding fast. He raced after her but she was quite far ahead. He called out.
“Stella!” He shouted.
She couldn’t hear, and she didn’t stop. Jason rode faster. Eventually he got close enough to shout and he called her name again.
She stopped and turned around. She saw Jason galloping towards her and she smiled.
Jason arrived with his horse and pulled it alongside Stella’s. She jumped from her saddle onto the front of Jason’s. She kissed him passionately and wrapped her arms around him.
He kissed her back slowly, and they kept trotting towards the town. Her horse was walking closely behind.
“Stop.” He said, after a minute of making out with stella. She started kissing his neck. He grabbed her body to push her away, but instead he started feeling her breasts. She moaned softly and moved her vagina closer to him. He stopped the horse and got off. Stella looked horny on the saddle.
“Come back,” she said.
“Stop, Stella.” Jason said. “I’m with someone else.”
“Freya.” She snarled. “That fucking dumb bitch elf. Sorry my ears aren’t pointy and my face isn’t carved from marble.” She put her hand over her lips and started crying. “Sorry, Jason.”
Stella stopped shouting and calmed down. She got down off the horse and got back onto hers. Jason got onto the back of Bronson and started riding slowly. They walked in silence down the night path. Jason would have been scared of bandits a few months ago, but with his experience fighting, he felt sure he could protect them both.
They made it into town with no trouble. Jason and Stella arrived near midnight. Jason walked to his new home, lovingly crafted by the villagers for free. He opened the door and saw the new furniture had been put into one corner of the room. It was a downgrade of his previous home and furniture. It was a simple home with a small bathroom and a fireplace. No frills.
He pushed a bed into a different corner, set up the bedside tables and unpacked the crates of blankets and cooking utensils. Then he moved the dining table out of the corner and started a fire.
He tucked Stella into bed and sat on the side of the bed. Stella felt warm inside, and she felt happy that Jason had come. Stella got excited.
Jason watched as Stella undressed for him. He looked down at her breasts. They were perfectly bouncy and round. She had soft pink nipples. She wiggled her shoulders softly and her tits bounced from side to side. Jason leaned over and started kissing her.
Stella undid his pants. Jason took off her dress completely.
The sun came up and their bed was soaked with sweat.
Jason felt sinful. He had betrayed Freya, he also felt glad that Stella and him finally made love. It was the best day of his life, he thought to himself, honestly.
Jason woke up and grabbed the naked Stella’s boobs. She was surprised by how forward he was. Jason made breakfast and they ate it while naked. Jason would tell Stella some stories about the road, and he would get distracted by her tits when she was laughing at him.
“Oh boy,” He thought to himself. “What the fuck did I just do?” He decided to leave.
