Chapter Fifty Four - The Reunion

Redran was riding a horse towards the town of Buttermilk. He was still sore and bruised from his injuries. The trip was short, compared to his long journey north. He arrived at the outskirts of the small town at sunset.

Redran found the path that led to his manor home and noticed it showed signs of more use. He was curious.

Redran arrived at the walls of his home and was skeptical to see his gate unlocked. He wandered inside the gates and saw an old work horse munching on his hedges. He raised an eyebrow and got off his horse. The horses said hello to each other by huffing, and Redran’s new horse started to eat from the gardens too.

A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

Redran put his hand on his sword and wandered to the front door. He knocked and the door swung open. Arkanon, the skeleton king, was dressed in a white button up shirt and some black pants.

Redran saw his friend and was surprised when the Skeleton king cheered and lifted him up in a big hug.

“You stupid, stupid, dog,” Arkanon said happily. “I thought the dragon killed you!” Arkanon said happily.

“That was a long time ago, friend. I have much to tell you.” Redran said, as the breath was squeezed from him.

Arkanon let go of his friend and pointed to the garden.

“Your garden was overgrown so I hired some help.” Arkanon said, pointing to Bentley, who had grown much fatter. Redran laughed, and went inside to catch up with his old friend.
