Renvoy lay on his bed in deep thought, it was Monday, the day he hated the most, he had to go to that dreaded place, school; he pulled the sheet off him and got up lazily.
His mom would be coming to check if he was ready soon.
He quickly went through his morning routine of brushing his teeth, taking a shower, making and eating breakfast, he went to check if his father was there, but as usual, he wasn’t.
Renvoy had moved in with his father after his parent's divorce, his father wasn’t the same man after, a few weeks later, he lost his job and took up drinking to numb the pain.
He got back on his feet in a few months, but he still drank occasionally when a day at work stressed him too much, being a construction worker was hard after all.
Renvoy went back upstairs and went inside his room, he had a few minutes of free time left before his mother arrived; he sat on his bed and booted up his PC, and began reading his favorite LitRPG novel, quack of the heavens.

He was very happy the author had released not one but two chapters today, he soon lost himself while reading.
The sound of screaming broke his immersion, Renvoy got up and pulled the curtain over his bedroom window, intending to look at what was happening outside, what he saw left him rooted in place, the house and buildings in his neighborhood each burst apart in blue particles.
People ran in random directions, cars crashed into each other, Renvoy watched as they helplessly got devoured in the same blue particles, it was the end of the world, he knew it, the blue wave grew with each person it devoured.
It would reach him soon and there was nothing he could do about it.
Fear, panic, and absolute terror swelled up inside him, he wanted to run, hide, curl up and cry, but his body refused, he stood there, helplessly; he watched as it got closer and closer, moments before his demise he heard it, a cold metallic and uncaring voice spoke in his head.
