Chapter (27) clash of Gods (3)

Black stared at the hole in his chest with both confusion and annoyance, the little pests were only good at sneak attacks, with a flick of his finger the strings that were binding him snapped, with another flick, a barrier formed around him, attacks bounced off it harmlessly the strings that tried to form around it snapped apart.

He flew up into the air, attacks chased after him relentlessly, but once again bounced off the barrier and collided with each other, once he stood at the exact center of the Kingdom of Mana.

Black had had enough, if they wanted to fight him unfairly, he would do so too, he was itching to test out the results of his new project, anyway his newest and most promising project, project monsters.

He held up his shadowy hand, and whips of black smoke spilled out of his palm, fusing themselves into reality, cracks soon began to form in reality, and from those cracks came formless shadowy monsters of immense size.

Each one could easily trample the kingdom of Mana, their red eyes shone hungrily as they watched from the space that held them, millions of crazed and hungry roars filled the air as the monsters saw their yummy prey skittering and falling in terror, black sludge dripped from their mouths as they salivated.

the cracks grew wider and more fell out, the earth rumbled as thousands of giants walked its surface, each step they took drained the life from the earth and the surrounding animals.

The hidden figures that were fighting black came out of hiding instantly, they ignored black and shot towards an incoming monster that was going to crush the kingdom of Mana; it had two heads, each covered in bone and scales forming a durable yet flexible exoskeleton around its entire body.

Golden strings materialized around its exoskeleton, hindering the monster’s movements, it screamed, disorienting and confusing the three humans temporarily, its exoskeleton bulged as it exerted force on the surrounding strings, and they began snapping one by one.

The last string snapped, and it roared happily, it lifted its massive hands and began beating its chest, sending shockwaves in the surrounding area, trees were ripped apart and uprooted, the walls protecting the Kingdom of Mana crumbled, and taverns and inns were smashed to pieces by the flying remnants of the wall.

No one was dead however, The kingdom of Mana was empty, Black had all the people who accepted the system teleported to one of the infinite cities in his pocket dimension, and only those who resisted the system integration were killed.

A horizontal slash snapped the monster out of its senseless destruction, it bit deeply into its exoskeleton; it continued to cut until the monster’s arm fell off, it roared angrily once more though not as powerful as the first one, and its chopped-off hand twitched and began emitting black smoke, it curled and twisted then floated back to its original spot, with a soft pop the monster reattached its arm.

It dashed in the direction it saw the slash come from, its feet dug into the earth as it ran, shaking and digging up dirt and stone, its hand moved and grabbed the air, with a soft grunt it pulled back and ripped out a chunk of space to reveal the armored swordsman.

Its red eyes shone with excitement as it grabbed him and opened its mouth, revealing rows upon rows of massive teeth that looked deadly sharp, the swordsman didn’t look afraid However, his body began emitting a blinding blue light, it cut anything it came in contact with into bits.

It reduced the monster to minced meat in seconds.

space twisted as two more humans appeared shortly after the monster’s death.

They flew down to the ground to rest and dispose of the monster’s body.

They had no time to relax however, the monster’s body twitched and split apart into smaller versions of itself with the same amount of power, they rushed at the three tired humans, giving them no chance to rest or recover.

Caught off guard, they reacted too slowly and suffered near-lethal wounds; the monsters evolved and adapted during their fight; they grew sharp teeth to bite better, claws with curved and jagged edges to better rip and tear into armor and skin, their skin got harder and turned flexible to better resist sharp and blunt attacks.

When the three figures realized that winning was no longer an option and that they were losing, they took to the skies, and with a burst of speed, they disappeared into the distance.

The monsters, realizing their food, were running away cried out in sadness and despair, their body trembled as wings sprouted from their backs, with a satisfying whoosh, they took off into the air, body morphing and shifting constantly with each change they became more aerodynamic each passing second as they consumed life-force to evolve.

They quickly caught up to the escaping humans, the swarm of monsters flew and formed a circle around them, blocking any route of escape, more life-force was consumed as sacs grew in their mouths, and new glands grew that would produce a toxic venom made from a combination of various snake and animal venoms the original monster had consumed.

Their mouths bulged and stretched as venom filled them, their sharp teeth were removed to make space, and their mouths became nozzle shaped to shoot the venom better.

All fired at once, reducing the three humans to bones in seconds.

the primary continent soon became a dried husk as the monsters sucked it dry of its life force.

They took the form of the animals they killed, soon, giant rats, snakes, and dragons roamed the earth freely, some took to the skies, some to the sea, all in search of more life to consume.

Black smiled at the carnage he unleashed into the world, now that all unknowns were eliminated his plans would go more smoothly, to someone looking at the world from outer space or the void, nothing happened, the world looked healthy and teeming with life, the gods were coming right into his trap.
