Updating system language…
[#%% $]
Done
Efficiency increased by 10%
Black was beyond elated, all his hard work had paid off, he worked tirelessly to update the system without crashing it and having to start over many times.
While to the outside world it had only been two days, to him, it had been years of nonstop work.
He combined every language in the system’s database into one unique language, he also added a function in the system to collect new languages and merge them automatically.
The things that gave him the most trouble were the minor bugs, they were literally everywhere in the system, and he suspected it would take millions of years to patch them all.
His monstrous form shook with pure excitement as he gazed upon his creation.
The world and all of existence will soon know the terror his blue screens could cause, he would make sure of it.
The system that had killed and trapped him, he would make it pay, it and its creators would pay dearly.
His system and his system alone would be supreme. All would bow to it, eventually.
“How is project nutcracker going?”
Progress has been slow, the kingdom of mana has somehow separated itself from reality.
Analysis shows that the barrier protecting the Kingdom of mana is made up of the following substances:
50% reality
50% Mana
Note: When the system has a better method of analyzing exotic substances, the numbers will change.
Note: The numbers above may be inaccurate.
Note: More substances may be in the mix that the system is currently unable to analyze.
Black hummed silently as he read the contents of the system message, he had expected progress to be slow but not this slow.
This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.
Even after he updated the system, a rather small update, but an update nonetheless.
He knew this could only mean more dreaded work to do and more bugs to find and patch, the system was still too slow for his tastes.
He hated finding minor bugs so much he considered adding a report function, but decided against it, the world will know of him in time he wouldn’t rush it.
Most of the minor bugs he found were with the help of the system’s ability to read the minds of its users freely, he discovered that a lot of his users were abusing the system’s inability to detect said abuse.
With the new update, the system could do that and much more.
“System, show me the progress on project potential.” He said.
Project potential:
Progress: 98%
Errors: 0
Sub-tasks completed: 100%
Main tasks completed [98/100]
Estimated time until completion: 1 day.
“Good! Start construction of the title sub-system!”
Black had thought of many ways to improve the system’s efficiency and decided to have the system construct many sub-systems to handle more specific tasks.
This would boost the system’s overall efficiency and speed, before, the primary system had done everything itself, and now that was going to change.
While black was happy, he was also mad at himself for not doing it earlier it could’ve saved him his much-needed time.
The system could theoretically make an infinite amount of sub-systems, then have them make more of themselves until its power was so great that just existing would break reality permanently.
While that was one of his goals, he wanted the system to belong to him and him alone, there was no telling what would happen down the line of infinitely expanding sub-systems, after expanding an infinite amount of time, something could change.
One change would lead to another and before he knew it, the system was sentient and wanted to be free.
He didn’t want to fight an entity that had infinite power and was limitless. He knew wouldn’t last even for a second and if, by some miracle, he did; the system had an infinite amount of ways to kill him.
Black wanted such a scenario, he would take his time and slowly perfect the sub-systems over time, then go all in.
The system is already somewhat aware, and he knew the better he treated it, the better off his odds were. While the system was him, it was slowly developing an ego, the darkness had given it this trait.
Black wasn’t concerned about this, he let it happen, he wanted the perfect system, not a mindless machine that would only follow orders without being able to expand and improvise said orders if need be.
Title sub-system construction complete.
“Task it to generate titles with various effects and powers that users can unlock when certain conditions are fulfilled.”
Done
“Make another sub-system to manage skills and skill evaluations.”
Done
Making sub-systems was only possible because of the potential he was harvesting from his users, and the research he was doing on it.
Notice: 99% the world has been taken over.
Notice: [5/5] gods have noticed something.
Notice: Estimated time until their arrival 3 weeks.
Black smiled devilishly, they were too late, 99% of their world was gone, and only the stubborn kingdom of mana was left.
He had no idea how they were still blocking his system, whatever artifact they were using clearly wasn’t from this universe, whoever founded the kingdom of mana was an otherworlder with the power to travel between universes freely.
That was the only explanation he could come up with, and it left a bitter taste in his non-existent mouth, someone or something was sending people to different worlds for whatever reason.
Maybe the darkness that saved him wasn’t a coincidence, but a planned and scripted event.
these were only speculations but if they turned out to be true, it would mean someone or something was toying with his life as causally as they pleased.
Black wanted to be the manipulator, not the one being manipulated, he would have a talk with lady fate one day, a real good talk.
“Just you wait, I’ll wipe that smile off your face and replace it with terror.” he said while looking up at no one in particular but he knew they were there.
