Chapter(5) Birth of the system

In a pocket dimension situated right above Blackburn city

Ding!

[phase one and two are complete.]

Ding!

[system law and soul integration complete, fusing all fundamental concepts into system law…. done reconstructing the soul tree…… done]

Ding!

[Soul tree has developed into a soul nexus]

“Begin construction of system domain, replace all natural mana from the surrounding area that the system influences with system mana. "

[Done]

Black slumped against his throne.

“phew.. who knew being overpowered was this exhausting,”

Giving commands to the system was exhausting, especially large orders like that.

He designed the system in such a way that it could act without his manual input, but for important things, it would ping him and ask for his approval.

He rebuilt his very soul to support the system and its functions, so the system is him.

Though he lost his darkness and his soul tree, he gained the soul nexus and built his very own system, so it wasn’t a complete loss.

What he gained was far better.

He wasn’t supposed to have something like the system at rank 3 and the world’s laws were hammering at his domain’s walls as punishment.

Rank 3 was the realm of demigods. It was supposed to take thousands of years to reach it.

Even then, without mana’s blessing, it was supposed to be impossible.

He reached it by making the system and blessing himself with the system’s mana, which was his, but the world’s laws didn’t think that. They viewed him as a separate entity and he took advantage of that to reach rank 3.

That presumably pissed the god of mana off, but he hid well and pulled it off.

The system influence had covered the entirety of Blackburn by now, thanks to Byron and a few others. He planned to reward them later but was very busy.

Black had plans to expand the system’s area of influence soon, but he had to solidify his domain and the system’s domain first.

And to do that, he had to update and develop his system satisfactorily first.

The system wasn’t ready to be used by millions, if not trillions, of people.

It still had many loopholes someone powerful enough could use. He had no intentions of letting that happen.

It was already hard to deal with the thousands in Blackburn trying to study or crack into the system. Or asking for its owner.

The system had expanded swiftly, and disorder ensued. It started small like theft and mugging but shortly went downhill.

He had to act fast to prevent his domain from shattering.

“Set new level cap at level 100. To level up any further, one must enter a dungeon and reach floor 100, defeat the boss, and smash the dungeon core. For each new floor, the difficulty goes up marginally. Each level up increases all stats by 10,”

[Done]

[Unable to carry out the order, dungeons don’t exist, requesting permission to search memory for data regarding dungeons]

“Permission granted,”

[Sufficient data obtained dungeon construction in progress…. done data database updated]

“Repair all damaged structures within the system’s domain and open the skills shop. It will only be available in dungeons.”

[Done]

“Designate Blackburn has a safe zone, killing in safe zones is banned. If two system users have a dispute that will only end in death, teleport them to a miniature pocket dimension to settle it. Set the pocket dimension’s time ratio to 100/1.”

[Done]

“Enable party function in dungeons, set maximum party members to 10. Quests posted at the adventure’s guild related to dungeon mobs will sometimes reward sp experience or skills depending on the difficulty,”

[Done]

“portals leading to dungeons will appear in the town square.”

[Done]

“Dammit, managing a system is so tiresome, so many things to do so little time.” Black cursed as he felt his soul’s essence go down once more. “Why is everything so expensive, anyway?.”

[Answer: The system is still in its early stages and still cannot use its resources effectively.]

Black nodded silently.

He didn’t think the system would spread so fast he had to close off Blackburn from the outside world to stop it from going any further.

Black knew this was temporary, but it would work for now.
