I activated [Law of Exclusive Attraction] between the flesh abomination and the earth to increase its weight, then multiplied its force using [Force Coefficient] and [Herald’s Domain]. As expected, the beast could no longer stay in the air and crashed to the ground under its own weight, crushing hundreds of undead beneath it.
Unfortunately, it did not fall apart or lose much health besides, yet again, a few hundred points.
“How are we supposed to kill this thing?! My gravity magic isn’t doing anything!” I yelled at Nisos as I fired mana blades at the thing.
The Ionian boy kept quiet for a moment.
“Kiara, can I trust you?” he said tersely.
“What kind of question is that?! Of course, you can!” I laughed.
“Then kill that thing before it kills me!” he yelled as he jumped off my back and straight at the abomination!
He crashed into it, where the monster’s endless limbs pulled him inside.
“What the he-?” I yelled, only to be shocked by what I saw next.

Loud booms echoed through the monster’s body as its HP steadily declined.
Realizing what the mad Syressan had just done, I started roasting and tearing at the horror from the outside while Nisos pulverized it from within. In a few dozen seconds, the monster’s health reached 0 and exploded in a rain of flesh, blood, and bones – an explosion that I unfortunately took face first.
“Urgh, disgusting.”
I wiped off my maw with my hand as I tried to locate Nisos.
It didn’t take long to see him falling right into the army of undead that were ready to tear him apart.
“Hold on, I am coming!” I yelled, diving straight down as Nisos was buried alive in the horde of undead.
I smashed into the pile like a furious storm of claws and magic, shredding anything that dared to get close to us.
Still, the undead were relentless as they rushed at us endlessly. It was only a matter of time before I got buried beneath them as well.
“Nisos, are you alright?!”
The boy groaned as I fought over his wounded body.
Appraisal showed that he had a few dozen health points left. Had I been a few moments late, he would have died.
“Thanks for saving my hide.” He said, trying to climb onto my back.
With a quick maneuver, I forced him on top of the saddle.
“Hold on tight!” I said, pushing the nearest undead off of me as I took off.
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
“Well done, you insane bastard!” I laughed, taking us up back to the safe skies.
“Please stop moving so erratic- urk!” the boy put his hands on his mouth to try and avoid throwing up.
“Sorry, but we’re still not out of the fight just yet!” I said, flying us back to the area above the barracks.
Nico was fighting the necromancer to a standstill, but just barely. She was already covered in wounds.
Jezibel and Ati were being overwhelmed by the sheer density of fire from the guild members on the ground, yet they somehow managed to hold them off from interfering with Nico’s fight. I even saw a few bodies pierced by arrows and magic.
“Hold steady, the cavalry’s here!” I yelled, launching mana blades at the goons fighting Ati and Jezibel as I dove straight at the necromancer with my claws out and flames in my throat.
The necromancer scowled.
“So what if you killed the amalgamation?! You’re still dying here!” he screamed.
Nico rushed at him during his moment of distraction, only to be blown away by a magic attack. The necromancer then aimed at Jezibel and prepared to fire the same beam attack from earlier.
Both Ati and Jezibel were too busy dealing with the assassins to notice the danger threatening the girl, their bodies nearly as wounded as Nico’s as it is.
“Jezibel, NO!”
I screamed as I rushed the necromancer.
The bastard was mere seconds away from my claws, and yet his attack would release faster than I could stop it.
I was so close, yet so far away.
“Jezibel, look out!”
Nisos yelled at the same time as I did and raised his hand towards her in an attempt to cast a defensive skill. And yet, he winced at the last moment due to his injuries, and his skill fizzled out of his fingertips.
The necromancer’s deadly green beam was launched right at Jezibel, who turned to look at the incoming attack.
The world slowed down as Nisos and I watched on in horror.
Jezibel’s expression blanked out, as if she struggled to comprehend the situation she was in.
Ati had just begun to cover his eyes as he tried to look at the blinding green light rushing past him, his face paling as he realized who that attack was being aimed at.
The necromancer laughed spitefully; his arms spread out in celebration.
“DIE, you wretch!”
As we all helplessly watched the beam get within mere meters of her body, threatening to envelop it, a tremendous, golden shield appeared between Jezibel and the attack.
The beam smashed into the shield, only to be dispersed harmlessly off it, not leaving a single blemish on its shining surface.
The shield faded as its caster rose between the necromancer and the other two.
It was Nico, or at least I thought it was.
The person in front of me was wearing Nico’s armor and had many of her features, but also resembled someone else entirely. A crown adorned with an ostrich feather sat on top of her head as she exuded a golden, divine aura. She gracefully lowered her hand and looked to the necromancer. She looked at him as if she were looking at a mere insect, unworthy of daring to stand in her presence.
She summoned a blade of pure light and swung it straight at the necromancer, whose body exploded into shreds, and his decapitated head fell into the barracks.
With a swing to the right, she split the barracks in half, slaughtering all the surviving members of the assassin’s guild.
She took in the remaining undead army then dispelled the blade.
After that, she shone with a bright light, making the tens of thousands of undead beasts scream in agony. Mere moments later, all of them dropped to the floor, all foul magic excised from their carcasses.
The light that shone from her healed all our wounds before it faded away, leaving the figure hovering in the midst of us.
Shocked into silence, we all stared at Nicotris, or whoever that person was supposed to be.
She descended gracefully to the floor, then took out the ornate emblem that Nico had tried to give to Jezibel.
A hint of sorrow colored her face for a moment, though it disappeared just as quickly.
The emblem glowed in her hands for a few seconds, then the light faded.
We descended near her, none of us capable of speaking anymore.
“The five of you have done well.” She said in a solemn voice.
None of us dared to interrupt her.
“You sought to fight an evil plot of great proportions on your own initiative, seeking no reward or recognition. Due to your actions, hundreds of thousands of innocents in Tyr will live, and potentially millions more across the rest of the world.”
My eyes widened; we were in the presence of Nicotris’s God.
“There is no greater service that any can offer to uphold Order and Justice. I will inform the Tyrian Gods of your deeds and clear your names, so that they may reward you for your deeds. When you have the time, please visit a Tameryian temple so that I may offer you my own reward.”
She held her breath for a moment, then spoke once more.
“Having thanked you as the Goddess of Order and Justice, I would also like to thank you in a personal capacity. I thank you for befriending this clumsily honest, yet earnest girl. Even if she never said it, and even if the time she spent with you was short, I watched her grow happy with your companionship. No matter what happens from this point onwards, remember that she would not be happy with you blaming yourselves for the decision she took. I ask that you respect her sacrifice and remember her fondly on your future journeys.”
Huh?
What is she talking about?
Before I had the chance to ask, the light faded from Nico’s body.
The last glitters of light laid her body to the floor, where it remained unmoving.
“…L-Lady Sept?” Jezibel asked with a trembling voice.
“Nico!” I rushed at her as panic welled up in my chest.
I kept shaking her shoulder, but Nico wouldn’t move.
“Nico, wake up!” I screamed, as if my voice could jolt her into waking up.
I felt a hand on my shoulder.
“Kiara, you need to stop.” Nisos said gently with a sorrowful expression.
I shook off his hand and yelled at him.
“What do you mean, stop?! Share my health with her! We can still bring her back!” I yelled.
“KIARA, STOP! SHE’S DEAD!” he yelled back at me, as his eyes began to tear up.
I choked up.
“No. Not like this… Not like this!”
I broke down, my sobs echoed through the hall. Nisos teared up and Ati closed his eyes.
Jezibel, however, held an egg in her hand.
Parts of the shell cracked and fell to the floor, and a tiny snake emerged from the remaining pieces.
