I had high hopes for my evolution, and yet this result offered more than my wildest dreams ever did.
“Choosing or evolving a class is the opposite experience of evolving to a new rank. It’s a euphoric experience by any standard, but choosing it right after the pain of evolving to a new race would probably make it feel that much better. Might as well hit us with all the changes at once.” Aunt Ighir said.
“I bet that’s why most humans don’t bother trying to raise their rank and focus only on their class.” Durreg shrugged.
“Most humans aren’t warriors and do not have the advantages you have, Durreg. It’s not fair of you to judge them for that. They often get by just fine without needing to go through that kind of pain.” Mom scolded Durreg, then turned to me.
“Make sure to check if you got any new options for a class. If there are any changes, let us know before you go through with it.”
I nodded and checked the list of classes available, but nothing had changed.
Maybe I shouldn’t be too greedy given that I already earned a mythic class.
I chose the Sovereign of Gravity class, and suddenly, the world turned on its head. I found my senses overloaded for the umpteenth time today, but this time it was not unpleasant at all. I felt as though I could see for the first time, as I began to see the tremendous weight of the planet and the sheer well of mana it emits from its core. In the direction of the Unfathomable Abyss was a massive pillar of mana rising through the air, likely covering the entire island upon which its entrances stand. The pillar becomes thicker and thicker until it becomes blinding near the center of the planet.
Awed by the scene and by how small I and everything I knew were, I took in the fundamental feeling of attraction that every object places on another. It felt like a dear friend I had always known, yet one I only just remembered. I struggled to understand what the implications of the things I saw; gravity fluctuating like the waves in the sea, its effect in bending the world around it, if words like these can even describe this scene, and so much more.
I felt instinctively that this attraction was not something static; I could tug on it and influence it. As I made these observations, mana began to violently swirl within my body and magic circles were being seared into my brain. Through it all, a near spiritual fulfillment filled me as I tried to take in all of the phenomena bombarding my senses.
Soon enough, it all faded away, and I opened my eyes to the shocked expressions of my family.

“…Soooo, does anyone mind telling me why I got a load of stats with my class?”
***
“So, let me get this straight. You’re telling me that classes and evolutions come with both stats and abilities, but each is more focused on one?” I asked, after Durreg groaned, Aunt Ighir laughed, and Mom sighed in exasperation.
“Well, that’s about it, yes. Who would have known you would earn a boatload of both with each of them. Now then, tell us what all the fancy stuff you got does!” Aunt Ighir said.
I took a look at everything that was different from before, and I wasn’t disappointed.
[Dragon Combat]
All dragons wield ferocious weapons in the form of their claws, teeth, tail, and horns. You possess the natural instinct to wield them just as ferociously as they do.
[Dragon Breath]
Dragons have gained worldwide infamy for their deadly breath attack, which can be infused with an element of their choice. The power of this breath depends on the user’s affinity with the element in question, their intelligence stats, and relevant active effects.
[Draconic Vision]
Dragons possess powerful, magic eyes that befit their sorcerous heritage. Able to see at night, detect heat, and even observe mana, nothing escapes a dragon’s sight. The distances and clarity of the sight granted by these eyes is magnitudes more powerful than the vast majority of other species; their only rivals being eyes belonging to birds of prey.
[Draconic Scales]
As ancient wielders of magic, dragons have long been acclimated to mana. As a result, they have evolved powerful resistances to unwanted magic through their scales, which denies harm from all but sufficiently powerful magic attacks.
[Greater Regeneration]
You possess a powerful vitality. No wound is untreatable, no ailment permanent. You regain 25 HP per second, as long as you possess enough nutrients or mana to support it.
[Shapeshift: Base Humanoid Form]
Change your form to match that of a sapient creature you have encountered before if they are of equivalent or lower rank to you. Taking on the forms in question grants you the racial traits of the creature.
Available Forms: Base Humanoid Form, Base Dragonoid Form, High Earth Dragon.
[Greater Appraisal Obfuscation]
Block all non-ultimate appraisal skills, talents, and effects. Customizable.
[Beloved of Gravity Lv. 1]
Gravity is a terrifying force to many, but not you. Gravity is your steadfast ally and loyal servant, eager to bend to your will.
[Lady of Attraction Lv. 1]
Any two objects posses a gravitational attraction to each other, should they be within a distance proportional to their mass. You may choose any two targets and empower the power of their attraction up to a value of 1 m/s2. This effect does not apply if the attraction between the two objects is already above the stated minimum or is resisted by one of the targets.
[Gravitational Multiplier Lv. 1]
Multiply the force of attraction applied by gravity spells and skills with a value of up to 2.
[Field of Oppression Lv. 1]
Multiply the force of gravity in a radius of 5 meters around you. This force is indiscriminate and applies to all within it, you and your allies included.
[Black Hole Lv. 1]
Create a powerful black sphere with a force of attraction 10 times that of gravity you are subjected to for 1 second. This sphere may be launched before being activated. When the duration of the skill concludes, all absorbed objects will be launched instantly at a direction of your choosing at up to 50 times the force of gravity you are subjected to. If no direction is selected, it will spontaneously combust with the same amount of force. No skills, titles, or other effects may apply to this skill. Usable once per day.
[Force Inversion Lv. 1]
Reverse the direction of the effect of any gravity skill or spell. Cost is multiplied by 2 for duration of effect.
As I read out my new abilities, Durreg whistled, and I was already thinking about how to make use of some of them.
Before I could try anything out, mom stepped close to me.
“Kiara, do not use any abilities, skills, or spells unless I tell you to. Now, I need you to summon your wings and fly after me.” She demanded in a tense tone.
Seeing that she was serious, I nodded and did as she asked, then we all flew out of the glacier island.
***
We were hovering hundreds of meters above the water, far enough away from all land for none of it to be visible over the horizon. Mom cast her usual privacy spells, and Aunt Ighir and Durreg were a few hundred meters away from the two of us. Mom then put her hand on my left arm and held on to it tightly.
“Kiara, carefully prepare the black hole skill you have and launch it as far as possible into the sky above us. Make sure that everything it sucks in is blown away from us as well.”
The air was thick with tension and nervous anticipation. I don’t know what mom was expecting to be that dangerous from this skill, but I nodded and did as she said. I pointed my right hand towards the sky and activated Black Hole.
I felt the mana all over my body drain rapidly as tiny sphere formed a few inches away from my palm – its color so dark that it seemed to devour light itself. As my mana was about to be emptied, I felt the skill nudge me. I knew instinctively that I could launch this sphere at a rapid speed before it activates in a few seconds, or simply activate it immediately. Following mom’s instructions, I launched the black sphere, and it flew faster than any projectile I had seen so far – with the exception of the Frost Eagle’s beam, since I wasn’t powerful enough to know how fast that was at the time – then watched as the sphere suddenly came to a stop; a moment of calm before the storm.
And what a storm it was.
The air hundreds of meters around the sphere suddenly rushed towards it, like the eye of an abyssal whirlpool, emitting a terrifying, shrill cry. Before I knew it, I was a rag-doll that was powerless to resist against the pull of the sphere as the air dragged me around, with mom’s grip on me being the only anchor keeping me in place. Then, as suddenly as it appeared, the pull stopped, and a loud explosion thundered as a large hole was blown through the cloud above us. A second, significantly weaker explosion boomed as the air surrounding the spot where the sphere once was rushed to fill in the vacuum.
As I stared in utter shock, mother spoke to me in a voice so quiet that it was almost a whisper.
“You almost have a month until you have to go back to the academy. You will spend every minute of it learning how to control your new abilities, and you will not use the Black Hole spell without my supervision. Do we have an understanding, Kiara?”
I nodded.
