Tec Mage Chapter Twenty Three: Debts Between A Man And Dwarf

The plan Atlas had made up was for a lack of better words sloppy, it had many holes and Atlas suspected he would have to wing it but one thing was true the more information he had the better prepared he would be

Atlas sat on a chair in the interrogation room waiting for Private Ash to return with Roark the dwarf, he had convinced the private that he had the right to face his accuser, he also managed to incorporate this in to his plan

When the door started to open Atlas sat up straight, with the dwarf being more patient but still retaining his anger he would be hard to gather information and trick him like before, As the dwarf entered the room Atlas could see the rage in his eyes and fist but his face was stone cold with no emotions

The Private offered Roark a chair, the dwarf being smaller than a human just kicked the chair from out under the table and hopped on it, both Atlas and Roark just looked at each other, in the eyes of Roark was the usually rage but it had been steeled by a prison term, now and again Atlas witnessed the eyes of the dwarf looking at his gear

"Your doing well for your self" said the dwarf in a dead pan voice

Atlas was a tiny bit surprise, he had expected the dwarf to give no notion that he knew Atlas, this was a testament on how the dwarf felt, he didn't need to play games or lie to gain Forge, in his eyes he owned Forge and had nothing to hide and planed to use the police force to get his property back

Atlas mind snapped back "you look terrible", Atlas would see the state of the dwarf mind with this little quote

The hands of the dwarf opened and closed tighter than before, the knuckles on the dwarf hands turned yellow and then to white " prison will do that to a man" said the dwarf in the same dead pan voice

Atlas could easily see that the dwarf had tempered his anger making him an even more dangerous person than before

The private was looking from Atlas to Roark, he could fell the heat between the two of them, coughing the private started to talk

"Mister Roark has accused mister Atlas of theft of a pet that is now wrapped around misters Atlas neck but mister Atlas has denied it and so it's one man's word against another's" the private explained, both party's said nothing and this made the private nervous

"So i have brought both of you together to see if we can talk things out and maybe find a answer" private Ash looked between the two again, he was hoping that this would be worth it because he was already feeling tired and fed up with the both of them even though he was leaning towards helping Atlas he wouldn't have done so if he wasn't stuck for time

"Why not start with telling how you gained the creature and see if we can gain some answers, why don't you start mister Roark"

With out batting a eye the dwarf started to tell his tale

"It was a bout 300 hundred years ago that i first obtained the imugi" the private interrupted Roark with a small gasp, Atlas wasn't sure if it was because of the dwarfs age or even the legendary creature called imugi but the dwarf carried on "i have been a blacksmith most of my life but in the beginning of my crafting career i needed capital to start my own shop and so i join a raid of the Agrigan volcanoes as the blacksmith" the dwarf swallowed his spit and breathed in

"The fighting was great and hard but before we could even get half way though the dungeon the raiding party decided to head back with the gold and items they had found, on the way back there was cave in and i was separated from the party, believing i was dead they left me and exited the volcano" the dwarf sipped a little of the water from the cup on the table

"As i tried to escape from the tons of earth that was caving in i came across a small cave system that was well protected by natural arch ways and harder more stable rock formations, there i found a single baby imugi covered in gold, i guessed that the rest of the baby imugi had left and this was the runt, i pocked the gold and imugi and with a huge amount of luck and grit i managed to escape the volcano, i now had gold enough to buy a cheap building to start my blacksmithing career and so i made my way to the this kingdom" the story that the dwarf had just spoke of was lacking in detail and Atlas was sure there was a more interesting story but that wasn't why the dwarf was reciting it

Private Ash gestured towards Atlas "your turn, how did you meet the imugi"

Atlas looked briefly at private Ash and then back at the dwarf, he's brain was racing trying to cover the details he didn't want private Ash and the dwarf to know

"I suppose it all started when the imugi asked for my help" before Atlas could say another word the dwarf interrupted him which made Atlas glad because more time was given to think about his story's holes and the best lie to cover them

With the dwarf's eyebrows raised but still talking in the deadpan voice he went on to say "Imugi can't speak at that age", the dwarf was talking about his experiences with his captured imugi, according to Forge who was captured by the dwarf he never once spoke to him and that was why the dwarf thought imugi's couldn't talk

Atlas corrected him "not only can they talk but they can learn other languages as well and i can give you a list of respectable names in this community that have heard the imugi speak"

The dwarf closed his eyes and grinded his teeth he had his palms pressed on the table and they were shacking, he sighed and opened his eyes "my mistake what i should of said was the imugi has never said any thing to me" the dwarf continued to talk in the deadpan voice

Atlas continued with his story, he told a story that had truth and lie's in it, a mixture of both, Atlas tried to make it as plane as possible so no one could pick up the lies after he was finished with a story Atlas had to ask something

"I must ask but you claimed to have had the imugi for 300 years and never talked to him or made him a pet" said Atlas while opening his pet status window and showing it to the Private

Private Ash looked at the window while rubbing his chin "interesting, very interesting do you have an explanation for this Mr Roark"

The dwarf was shaking and his fingers were drawing across the wooden table leaving indentations on the surface but even this information didn't break his unfeeling voice "there is many different possibilities, like perhaps the imugi didn't like me and tried to escape but that doesn't excuse the fact that it is still my property, besides it's not my job to find out why the imugi decided to leave or how i see it, stolen from me, i've told you i own it and that's all there is to it"

Atlas was shocked at the way the dwarf talked about Forge like he was a piece of property, it quickly dawned on Atlas that with his anger and his cold calmness that he couldn't push the dwarf buttons to make him explode, a new extension to the plan was needed

"mmmm may i ask if you ever trained the imugi in to a pet" asked Atlas

"I haven't but i did feed it and keep it for 300 years, i think that's more than enough to clam ownership over it" replied the dwarf

Atlas thoughts went back a day and a half ago when he tried to enter the city with a bound black wolf and was denied entrance in till the beast was tamed

"according to your self you brought an untamed monster in to the city, isn't there is a law against that" said Atlas while looking directly at Private Ash

"There is and the punishment is" before Private Ash could say what the punishment was the dwarf interrupted again

"I brought the imugi here 300 hundred years ago when that law wasn't founded" said the dwarf

"I'm not to sure about that, i will need to examine the history records" said Private Ash "in the mean time i have only one coarse of action open to me, on one hand we have Mr Roark who has said that he has kept the imugi for 300 years but over such a long time the beast hasn't talked to him and Mr Roark wasn't able to tame him, Mr Roark hasn't given any evidence of his ownership like eye witnesses or paper work but on the other hand Mr Atlas has the beast on him and the creature tamed as his pet plus offered eye witnesses to where they have talked to each other, unless Mr Roark offers some evidence then i have to side with"

Before Private Ash could finish his sentence the dwarf known as Roark pushed the chair away from him self so hard it crashed against the wall

The dwarf spoke very quietly and slowly but load enough that Atlas could hear "this isn't over, i swear to the gods that i will have my revenge"

The dwarf turned around and was about to leave when the Private stopped him "there is still the matter of you bringing a untamed monster in to the city"

"That was 300 years ago" said the dwarf

"Yes but you've kept it in the city grounds for 300 years up to just recently some law has definitely been broken, i'm going to hold you over night and check the books"

The little colour that was on the dwarfs face was drained leaving a pale as a ghost dwarf "i won't go back to prison" said the dwarf in a scared whisper

Atlas might of felt sorry for the dwarf but he had brought the whole thing on him self with his intense bullying and slavery of Forge

"Wait before you take him i would like to talk to him" said Atlas "alone, please"

Private Ash had no objections, after all Mr Roark wasn't going anywhere

After Private Ash left Atlas sighed towards Roark "how long are we going to do this for"

The dwarf looked over his shoulder to make sure the private had left, as soon as he was sure they were alone he turn to Atlas "in till your dead"

Atlas half closed his eyes, never before had he wanted some one to die but his very life was in jeopardy, this alone would mean nothing as Atlas was a freedman and would come back to life in four in game days but the dwarf knew of Atlas apprentices and god knows what the dwarf would do if he gained knowledge of the gnolls

Atlas plan was to enrage the dwarf in till he lost his temper and did some thing silly but with his calm manner he wasn't taking the bait, just by luck he had incriminated him self by emitting he had brought Forge the imugi creature in to the city with out taming it, a new plan had popped into his mind

"You don't look well" said Atlas "prison didn't suit you"

being reminded of jail and the possibility of returning the dwarf went a pale green, "you could avoid prison by saying you were mistaken about this imugi" explained Atlas

"That thing is mine, i'll die before i give up on it" the dwarfs voice had lost it's coldness and was back to it's gruff normal self

"That might happen if you go back to jail, why don't you give up on the imugi, you've had him for 300 years with no interaction between the both of you, is it worth going to jail and this time it will be for a long time, you might not survive" Atlas tried to talk sense in to the dwarf

The dwarf walked back to the table Atlas was sitting at, he put the flat of his hand on top of the table and moved it feeling the textures of the table, Atlas could see the dwarf thinking it over

Suddenly the dwarf closed his hand and slammed it on top of the table "NO, WHAT'S MINE IS MINE"

"Then there is nothing to say to each other" Atlas called for the Private and when he entered the room he did so with 2 other Private's

Private Ash was leading the dwarf out of the room when Atlas stopped him again "if you would Private Ash i would like to settle some thing else with Mr Roark and i would like you as a witness"

"I really need to process Mr Roark and check the law leading 300 years ago" replied Private Ash, in truth he just wanted the dwarf in jail before lieutenant got back

"It shouldn't take long" answered Atlas

"Fine but be quick" Private Ash was losing his cool

"It's about money, to be more precise it's about what Mr Roark owes me" Atlas knew if anything that this would most likely cause the dwarf to lose it

"YOU LITTLE SHIT, I OWE YOU NOTHING" screamed the dwarf, he had completely forgotten his calm dead voice

Atlas said nothing but instead show his mission screen to Private Ash

Taming of the Blacksmiths

The blacksmith has agreed to train you and your apprentices completely and pay you and the apprentices 50 silver a piece per day

no time limit

Difficulty level: ???

Quest requirements: none

The dwarf know as Roark will treat you and your apprentices with respect and promises not to harm any of you at all times

Cannot fail quest

3 months 2 days = 182 gold

Atlas then showed the dwarf the mission he had kept for over 3 months just for an opportunity like this, Atlas had 3 missions and couldn't keep any more but he didn't seem to need any more, the first mission was to help his apprentice find happiness, the 3rd mission was to help the gnolls but it was the 2nd where after trapping the dwarf in a sticky situation he had agreed to the conditions, after the task of making 1000 swords and learning blacksmith the mission wasn't complete, after some days went by Atlas saw that money was being built up and concluded that the wording of the mission had been so Atlas and his apprentices would get paid even if they did nothing, for ever, that was the reason the mission difficulty was ???

When the dwarf saw it at first he didn't understand but as he read more and reread it his face started to pale past the green into grey

"TH... THIS CAN'T BE" stuttered the dwarf

"you agreed to this months ago in front of a sergeant of the watch" Atlas paused to let the information sink in "i would like to be paid before you go to jail"

The dwarf couldn't believe it, as he was looking at his closed hands and then back at the notice Atlas could see that he was about to lose it but instead of flying over the table and attacking Atlas like he expected the dwarf pulled out a piece of paper and started to write on it, handing over the piece of paper the dwarf just grunted

It turned out to be a promise note or an i,o,u, Atlas could sell this note to a loan shark or even a bank if all the signatures passed the checks

Atlas looked at the dwarf again taking in his appearance, he was dirty and wearing torn clothes, he didn't have any rings or finery's and looked sick with deep bags under his eyes, could it be that the dwarf had no more money, Atlas had to know

"By any chance would you be interested in buying the quest out right" asked Atlas

"What?, i don't understand" said the dwarf

"I'll make it simple, in a year you will need to pay me 730 gold for doing nothing, just like you agreed, so what i'm saying is that you pay me a lump some and buy the whole mission thus cancelling it out" explained Atlas

"BUT I JUST PAID YOU, I DON'T OWE YOU ANYTHING" shouted the dwarf

"What's mine is mine, isn't that what you said to me" Atlas enjoyed that part

The dwarf wasn't stupid just stubborn and slow on new things he didn't expect "how much is it going to cost me"

Atlas raised all ten of his fingers, "a thousand" said the dwarf

Atlas shaked his head "no, no, no, ten thousand" answered Atlas "after all you are a long living species and i would be a fool not to take advantage"

At the mention of ten thousand gold the Privates started to take a deeper interest in what was being said

The quill in the dwarfs hand was taping on the paper, he was wary because a promise note was like real money and if he didn't pay he would be taken to debtors prison which in it's own way was much scary than normal prison as more debt was piled on top of existing debt for rent food and other things the wardens could think of

Atlas could easily see the dwarf was conflicted, paying ten thousand gold or carrying on paying money to his enemy for the rest of his life, Atlas beckoned the dwarf to come closer to him, when they were face to face Atlas whispered to him

"How about a trade" the dwarf was listening "you haven't talk to the imugi... ever, there's no prof of you ever owning him, most likely you will be going to jail if you continue to insist that he is yours, but i'm willing to forfeit the gold if you give up the imugi"

The dwarf was about to say something but Atlas spoke first "you lose nothing, never did you gain anything from keeping the imugi and now you get your freedom and a debt of ten thousand cleared"

The dwarf closed his mouth and thought about it, he knew about the skill that the imugi could grant but never did the creature offer it to him, he wanted it desperately in his youth because a blacksmith who could control fire like the skill granted could be a great blacksmith but now he was older he had given up the idea and became a good blacksmith with practice and hard work

Moments went by and Atlas thought the dwarf was going to reject the offer when the dwarfs hand raised his open hand "deal" said the dwarf

Atlas grabbed the dwarf hand and shook it

"Ding"

no time limit

Quest requirements: none

The dwarf know as Roark will treat you and your apprentices with respect and promises not to harm any of you at all times

Cannot fail quest

After a discussion between Mr Roark and Atlas a deal has been made for the imugi

Quest completed Taming of the Blacksmiths

Reward: an Imugi

Atlas was sure that the dwarf wouldn't use the quest notice as evidence that he did own the imugi (if owning a intelligent being is possible) because he still would go to jail and for a long time for bring in an untamed monster in to the city

"mmmmm Oh now i've had a closer look, this can't be MY imugi, dear me my old age is getting to me, now i remember MY imugi died on the way to this city" the dwarf wasn't a great actor but it didn't matter as long as nothing contradict it

As the dwarf made his way to the door thinking everything was settled Private Ash placed his arm in the way "are you telling me this whole event was just a mistake"

"yes, i was mistaken, its been a long day" said the dwarf

Private Ash time had been wasted and he wasn't going to be promoted for it either, in side he was boiling with rage "LADS, TAKE HIM TO THE CELLS"

"WAIT, WHAT FOR" asked the dwarf

"WASTING POLICE TIME" shouted Private Ash

As the dwarf was dragged off to the cells by the other two Privates Atlas could here the dwarf scream like a high pitch girl

"NOOOOOOooooooooo........."

Private Ash stayed in the room, he pulled the chair that was kicked by the dwarf closer to the table "your plan was crap, not one thing you said would happen happened"

Atlas was being careful he had made a plan that didn't go to plan and had to adjust him self as he went along but this hadn't made the Private happy "some times you have to make it up as you go, people are unpredictable"

"That's not good enough, we had a plan and you should of stuck to it" replied the Private

"hmmm, the dwarf wasn't going to fall for it, didn't you see how calm he was, there was no chance he was going to attack me in front of you"

"That doesn't mean anything, you should of stuck to the plan" said Private Ash

"hmmm i now see that perhaps you are not cut out for interrogation, your to inflexible, your stuck on rules and plans" Atlas quickly added so he wouldn't cause offence "but there is a different field that you might be interested in"

"i'm not inflexible, what do you know about interrogation" wined Private Ash

"Who do you think taught Lieutenant Borin to interrogate" Atlas was pointing to him self

With this new knowledge Private Ash went quite

"Being inflexible isn't always bad as long as you follow your strengths like facts and fact checking, how about opening a new department in the police force called forensic" Atlas could see by the look on Private Ash face he didn't understand

"Forensic is a science used for the purposes of the law, and therefore provides impartial scientific evidence for use in the courts of law making it makes it easier to gain evidence and convict the law breaker" Atlas could still see the confusion on Privates Ash face, it wasn't his fault he didn't now about forensic science because it hadn't been used before in the game

Instead of talking more Atlas gave a quick demonstration, with his hand in his bag Atlas pulled out a box of dry very fine grinded up bone and a feather from a chicken he had plucked, he then picked the feather up and dipped it in to the bone dust, pulling the glass the dwarf drank from, Atlas dust the glass with the bone dust and showed the results to the Private

"This is a finger print and each finger print is as unique as a persons face" after showing Private Ash and talking to him he quickly caught on, Atlas went on to talk about poisons reacting to different chemicals even if they have been adsorb in to the blood or lungs and how long a dead body been around by deciphering what bugs had laid there eggs in the corpse

"You see it all in the detail so a person like you could excel in the field, you just have to find it out your self, i'm sure the alchemy guild will help you with chemicals and such" Atlas also gave Private ash contact details for Dracken library team so he could find what insects did what

When Atlas left the police station Private Ash was looking confused but happy, Atlas had wrote the things he needed to do in the Private's notebook so he wouldn't forget, right now it was all up to Private Ash to make the new forensic science work and his promotion would lie within him self and no one else, Atlas also left a note explaining the details to Lieutenant Borin and a donation of 150 gold to help start up the forensic department, in the note he also said he would come in to the station to explain every thing in person, soon

Outside Atlas was looking at the i,o,u note that the dwarf had given him instead of money, to destroy the dwarf with out killing was the real challenge, as he was walking to shops to pick up a new cart and horse to carry the furniture he had ordered Atlas noticed a long line coming from an ally way that lead to the dwarfs shop

This could be some thing, thought Atlas

Moving closer to the shop he found him self being rushed by busy workers carrying tables, tools and all kind of things out of the dwarf shop, with out question this was important and needed to be investigated but before he could a crash had happened, a group of men carrying heavy objects had bumped in to each other and caused a big pile of broken wood and bruised men

Atlas rushed over to help pull the wood of the men, most of them were fine but the one on the bottom had a bone sticking out of his leg, without hesitation Atlas splashed a health potion over the leg and made the worker drink some, to Atlas the potion cost nothing as he made it from weeds and bone dust that he got free from the gnolls but to the workers this was a small fortune

"I can't pay for that" said the now healthy worker

"Don't worry it's free, after all being alive is difficult enough, we should look out for each other" this was what Atlas truly thought and he's selflessness actions and words hit the workers in there minds and heart

All was quite in till the workers started to laugh patting the healthy worker on the back

There was a worker who tried to push his luck though "ohh i think i might need a sip of that"

Atlas looked the worker up and down and realised that all that happened to him was a couple of bruises "You don't need it, it's too good for you"

The ground around Atlas went quite again, none of the workers were laughing but before anything else could be said Atlas had pulled out a small cylinder tin box that held his paste medicine "you've only got bruises so this paste will be good enough for it"

The workers surrounded Atlas, none of them said anything in till a bigger man in the back who had a clip board and a scar on his face shouted "HE GOT YOUR NUMBER DIDN'T HE" now that the silence had been broken a small laugh started and it started to build up to a roaring laugh that the well built men were coughing there lungs up with excess laughing

Things could of turned out bad, it was that kind of atmosphere but with the shout out by what Atlas assumed to be foreman the good will that Atlas had gained by healing the worker had returned, the reason that Atlas had said that the potion was too good for the buried worker was that he had experience with men like them before, worker like them had a hard physical time and tried to get there joys from any little thing they could muster, being a little cheeky was one way but Atlas knew that if you give them an inch they would take a mile and the best way to counter it was to tell the truth or be just as cheeky or even both

Atlas gave the tin medicine to the workers and they shared it out between them self

Physical Labours and dogsbody have a better opinion of you

Atlas pushed past the workers to get to the foreman, Atlas him self wasn't a small man but with many well built men pushing towards him to get to some free medicine and patting him on his back as they went by he felt a little sore, over, it was simple to see that his Endurance wasn't high enough to block the pain and damage completely

When Atlas reached the foreman he rolled his shoulders to get rid of the tight stinging pain the slapping had caused then offered his hand to the foreman

"Then name is Atlas"

The foreman grabbed the hand of Atlas and gave a hard shake that would have had a lesser man in tears but not Atlas

"The name is Puck" the foreman was looking hard at Atlas and Atlas could guess why, with a name like Puck there was plenty of room for the piss to be taken but as he was the foreman of a group of hard workers who like to be cheeky Atlas knew the guys he employed respected him or was afraid of him

"I can't decide if your brave, stupid or insane to talk to my men the way you did" said Puck

"With people like them you need to give as good as you get" answered Atlas

"Yes of course but also you have to be careful because it could of gone the other way" replied Puck

"Of course" Atlas knew that, he had been working with builders, plumbers and all kind of men who idea of fun was to take little pot shots of each other, it was a man thing

Now Atlas was a bit further away from all the commotion he could see that all the furniture the workers were carrying was being taken from the dwarfs building

Atlas asked the foreman what was happening, Atlas gestured towards the tables and chairs that the workers were taking away

Atlas was on good turns with the foreman so he explained with out restraint, it turned out that the owner who was the dwarf Atlas had just made the deal with had made lots of promise notes and failed to pay them in time, so the owners of said promise notes had sold them to bail lifters and in turn they took the amount of items from the home equal to the promise note

Atlas decided to show the note that the dwarf had written for 182 gold to Puck

"Mmmmm, yes this looks like one of his, if i was you i would cash that in soon, i've heard he has been witting a lot of promise notes to banks and he only has what's in side this house left as capital" Puck pointed at the dwarfs shop "i heard it was some thing to do with bribery, i know some one who was bribed with money so Mr Roark could meet with a judge and pay his way out of jail but that was just rumours"

This explained way the dwarf looked so ratty, low on money and paying off the bribes with promise notes he couldn't afford to clean him self up plus what the foreman explained further that the dwarf had just got out of jail and so he couldn't make money from blacksmithing

"can i see if there is any thing left in the shop worth 182 gold" asked Atlas

Puck looked around him to make sure he wasn't over heard "not normally, you need permission from the law and courts or it's just stealing but if you work for me then you could, just don't take too long looking about and don't remove anything from the shop"

Puck then turn his back on Atlas, Atlas assumed he was giving him a chance right now and Atlas took it, quickly diving in to the shop Atlas saw that the first floor of the shop was bare, the only thing that was left was the huge stone forge he and his apprentices worked at, it seemed the forge was part of the building, Atlas moved on to the 2nd floor looking for anything of worth, Atlas didn't notice in till now but only the first floor walls were made from stone and the 2nd floor was made with cheap looking wood that hadn't been kept well, some planks were rotten and there was dust all over the place even with many workers lifting and removing things, to Atlas the 2nd floor wasn't lived in and only the first floor was used, everything on the this floor had been claimed too, with nothing left Atlas left and returned to Puck's side

"Nothing of worth, i didn't think so, after all we aren't the first people to take things from here, but if your up for it Mr Roark is selling his shop to cover the cost and if the bank buys it you may be able to sell your note to them" explained Puck

Atlas looked at Puck "when is the shop being sold"

"Tomorrow" replied Puck

"Thank you" Atlas patted Puck on his shoulder and left, a way to take every thing that the dwarf loved was in Atlas reach but he only had a couple of hours to prepare for it

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Next Day

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Out side of the dwarfs shop was a well dressed gentleman that represented the bank that had held most of Roark's promise notes, there was also a big group of 50 odd people waiting for the auction of the shop, word had got out that the famous evil dwarf was selling up his shop after having a run of bad luck, so many people came to see this event, in fact there was only 12 people who truly wanted to buy the building and Atlas was one of them

The well dressed man coughed loudly as he placed a box on the floor and then with a little jump he was standing on it, he was a good foot higher then even Atlas who was the tallest person there, coughing again to gain the attention of the crowd he started the auction, Atlas waited for the formal introductions and explanations of what was happening to be over and the real auction to begin

"Starting bid of 5000 gold"

"5500"

"6000"

The biding wasn't fast because it would seem that the people who wanted to buy were first timers and they were hoping for a good deal, the people biding quickly quieten down and Atlas got it for 8000 gold, not a good price as the 2nd floor of the building was rotten but the shop was located near the grand market were most business was done so it evened it self out, Atlas had to empty his and his apprentices account to cover the cost but he would get the money back soon

"Ding"

You have bought a run down shop

Atlas first part of the plan was complete, with a lighter load Atlas went to talk to the well dressed man that now held a bag of gold that used to belong to Atlas

"I suppose you will be giving that gold to Mr Roark now" said Atlas

Two big man quickly came to the side of the well dressed man as body guards, Atlas hadn't seen them and he put it down to some skill like sneak or hide

"I would but it would seems that Mr Roark didn't turn up to the auction" spoke the well dressed man " and i don't have the foggyist were he may be"

Atlas told the rep were he could find the dwarf and followed the well dressed man and his two big body guards to the jail

After the night in the jail the dwarf known as Roark was angry as hell, he was released the next day but he had missed the auction and he wanted to raise the price by hiring some one to increase the bid but what was worst than that was the representative of the bank was waiting for him with his enemy Atlas

The rep asked a Private for a room were he could finish his business with Roark, Atlas waited out side in till the rep started to leave and Atlas stopped him

"Can i hire you for a moment" asked Atlas

The rep looked at Atlas, he had just bought a shop and so the rep agreed "its 3 gold an hour"

Atlas handed the gold over and entered the room that the dwarf was in, on the table the dwarf had emptied the bag and had started to count the gold, when the dwarf saw who had entered he scooped the gold in to his arms

"WHAT DO YOU WANT" screamed the dwarf while almost spitting

Atlas said nothing and instead just showed the promise note of 182 gold, the dwarf eyed the note carefully like it could be a forgery and then separated 182 gold from his pile, Atlas handed over the note and pick the gold up

"NOW GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME" shouted the dwarf

"Wait i have some thing for you" Atlas went in to his bag and pulled out a stack of papers and slammed them on the table

"WHAT IS THIS" shouted the dwarf

"You once said to me some thing i'm about to say to you........" Atlas started to say, he was waiting for the perfect time

The dwarf grabbed the top sheet of paper and started to read, when the dwarfs face started to twist in anger Atlas knew this was the time

"YOU BELONG TO ME" shouted Atlas

The pieces of paper on the table were all promise notes the dwarf had signed but Atlas had gone round to the bank and bought them just for this moment he wanted the dwarf to know who owned his shop and he wanted the dwarf to know that the money he had got from Atlas from buying the shop would go back to him, not all of it but a huge slice of it, the promise notes tallied up to 6000 gold so the dwarf was left with 1700, the bank had taken 300 gold as well
