Tec Mage Chapter Twenty One: Friendly Fight

Atlas started to awake from fainting, his eyes were closed but he could feel something brushing against his face, raising his hand he brushed what ever was touching him

"Ahh your awake, good, good, well now your awake could you deactivate your Avatar Of Fire skill" said Alison

Atlas could still feel something brushing against his face, so again he brushed it off, he lifted him self to his knee's and rubbed his eyes

"Did i faint again"asked Atlas

"Yes, and with good reason too, could you please turn off your skill" said Alison

Her voice sounded distant and the reason was she wasn't in the room but just out side, Atlas got to his feet while brushing his face again

"Why are you out there" asked Atlas but before Alison could answer he caught his reflection in a tall mirror

The thing that kept touching his face was a collar made of fire and behind him was a flowing cape of fire, wrapped around the fire cape was Forge and his mouth was biting down on the end of the cape

"Forge, are you doing this" asked Atlas

Forged looked up with a mouth full of the fire cape, shaking his head while chewing on the cape he answered no

"It's you, turn off the skill for the love of all that's good" Alison voice was shaking very slightly

Atlas didn't understand why she was so worried, the cape wasn't hot at all, and with that Atlas took a step forward to the mirror to get a better look, he could see that the fire cape covered his whole body except his feet, when Atlas looked closer in the mirror he noticed that it started to warp and bubble, Atlas could see something was wrong but didn't know what, he looked at Alison with a confused look

"It's you, your producing a huge amount of heat with your skill" Alison almost shouted

Atlas did a small jump but immediately turned the skill off, the fire cape fizzled out of existence and Forge fell to the floor with a bump

"I'm sorry, i didn't know, Atlas lifted Forge off the floor "I'm sorry, are you hurt"

"I'm not sorry that was the best mana i've ever tasted, even better than mothers" replied Forge

Alison entered the room while fanning her self "whew, hot stuff, that's some skill, by the looks of things the heat from the fire cape doesn't effect you or what your wearing but it does with the things around you, i think with out Forge absorbing a lot of the heat this place would be a towering inferno"

Atlas looked at Forge,"you saved me again, you're so useful, thank you"

Forge colour was red but if he wasn't then he would of been bright red from blushing "Stop you're embarrassing me" Forge hit Atlas on the face softly with his tale

"I can't wait any more check the skill's information and tell me about it" Alison almost ordered

Atlas wrapped Forge around his neck and shoulders then opened his Avatar Of Fire skill for the information

Avatar Of Fire has reached beginner level 10 and will be converted in to Intermediate level 1

Avatar Of Fire Intermediate level 1

You can call on a aura of heat, later levels the heat turns in to flames, acts as a sustained buff

1000 mana is used and won't be regain in till the deactivation of the skill

Fire resistance +25%

cold resistance +25% (negligible)

Avatar's Cape

unknown

The skill looked the same except higher fire and cold resistance but the unknown had turned in to Avatar's Cape "description for Avatar's Cape" said Atlas

Avatar's Cape

Due to an excellent almost perfect piece of Moonstone that was refined using old techniques and new improved and unheard of techniques the Avatar Of Fire's cape has awakened

.The cape can decrease and increase in heat

.Higher cape heat cost more mana

.Lower levels in the cape's heat produces higher mana regeneration

.The user and equipped items are not effected by the heat the cape produces

.The cape can be controlled by thoughts and/or instincts

.The cape can increase in length but only by using the total area size of the cape

.The cape can hold thing but it will burn none equipped items if the heat isn't sufficiently lowered

.The cape is feed by mana and magic and doesn't need oxygen but water will still extinguish it

Atlas closed his information window but noticed that his mana was half way depleted, he mentioned it to Alison

"Well, according to the skill description, you protected your self when you fainted, your instinct or your desire to stay safe when you were about to faint caused your cape to increase in heat and burn your mana but this is only speculation" explained Alison

Atlas only regret was he didn't know the limits of the skill, an almost perfect Moonstone was used for the catalyst but what would he have got if it was perfect, even though Atlas had a small amount of regret the skill and it's usefulness was great

"I think we should test the skill" said Atlas

"That would be nice but where, in town is too dangerous" replied Alison

"I know a place where it will be safe, follow me" Atlas lead Alison to his home behind the training hall and showed her the walk in oven

Atlas had made the oven so he could increase his Mana deflection skill, moving some stones he had laying in the yard closer to the walk in oven he walked in and blocked the entrance with a simple wall using his architect skill, only a small window hole was left so Alison could see what was happening, Atlas left Forge out side with Alison because he didn't know what would happen and how strong the skill truly was, Atlas turned on his Avatar of Fire skill, heat rushed around him but no cape came, just as Atlas thought this the cape's collar flared up and out rolled the cape, he didn't feel any different and when he looked out side of the oven Allison looked calm, Forge on the other side had darting eyes of hunger and he was almost standing to attention with a stiff body, Atlas first test was going to be heat control, by just thinking the cape charged colour from red to yellow

"Hotter" thought Atlas, the cape started to burn more mana and changed colour to white, out side of the walk in oven Alison was taking notes on how fast it took to increase the cape's heat and the different colours the cape went though, on the other hand Forge looked crazy, his eye's were bulging and he was dripping saliva from his mouth, he was making strange noise's under his breath

Atlas white flaming cape looked amazing but this was a test and he wanted to go further, "Hotter" Atlas thoughts barely left him when the cape turned dark blue

Outside Alison was taking note's on the form the cape was taking, Forge 's tail was hitting the floor, Forge was going crazy, he wasn't hungry but he knew he had to have that fire, his instincts were driving him and after fighting it for a couple of moments he gave up and cried out in a soft but strangely loud noise, he rushed forwards to the freshly made wall

"Wait, Forge don't go, it's too hot for you to open the door" Alison had witnessed Forge's complete fire and heat resistance but it wasn't Forge Alison was looking out for

Forge was in a trance, all he could think about was getting to the cape, he used tail whip on the stone wall in till there was a small hole, this alone was enough for the heat to rush out, Alison being a powerful magic user casted a field of ice and cold to neutralise the heat that was escaping

Forge climbed up Atlas leg making him jump, with a coiled body Forge jumped at the dark blue flame cape and wrapped him self around it and bit the tip

"What's going on" Atlas turned to see Forge

Forge just raised his head and mumbled "don't stop" and went back to chewing on the cape

Atlas could see that this was important, so even though he had questions for Forge they could wait in till he was ready or in till his mouth wasn't full

Atlas sat down on the floor of the oven, he reformed a small wall to cover the hole Forge made to get inside, after that he started to meditate to increase his mana regeneration and to extend the time length of the cape, Atlas wrapped the cape around Forge and shirked the cape around Forge, by decreasing the size of the cape the mana consumption decreased

"What's going on in there" asked Alison, she was at the stone door

"How are you so close to the door when earlier you had to leave the room because it was too hot" asked Atlas

"Magic, earlier i didn't want to use magic in side because i was not aware what the two opposing magic's would do, it may have caused bigger and greater destruction" explained Alison

"mmm, well to answer your earlier question i'm not to sure, it seems like Forge want's or needs to eat" said Atlas "i don't understand, fire sustains him but it doesn't fill him up"

"I have a theory from the things you told me about the skill you was granted from Forge, the way the Moonstone was crafted and bits and pieces from what i've read about Imugi snakes" explain Alison

"I'm listening" Atlas was still meditating so he couldn't do much more

"First, what i've read about Imugi is that there young are called Imugi but they are not Imugi, in fact they are just snakes in till they eat good food for thousands of years and turn into a true Imugi"

"second, by what you have told me your skill Avatar Of Fire was given to you but the skill was original used to transform the mana of the dead and barely alive in to a food source for the young of the Imugi when they left the kids to fend for them self"

"Three, the skill Avatar Of Fire needed a catalyst to reach intermediate, Moonstone isn't rare but processing it needs skill, skill that an a Imugi doesn't have, i think if the Imugi had the Avatar Of Fire skill or trusted a being with it then all they could hope for is a low level fire cape that doesn't have as many fine quality as yours or even manage to get a fraction of your cape's heat and power"

"What i'm trying to say is that young Imugi need good food to turn in to a true Imugi and what better food would there be than your fire cape which is heat, fire and magic, maybe, just maybe the Moonstone catalyst isn't just for your skill but will help Forge to grow quicker and more powerful than any Imugi before it" explained Alison

Atlas was running out of mana at this point, his mediation skill was his lowest level skill and didn't recharge his mana even close to what he needed to sustain the fire cape at this heat, he pushed down on his alchemy gauntlet enchanted mana tube to replenish his lost mana, if he pulled a mana flask out of his bag it would no longer be protected by his equipped bag and would be vaporize but his mana tube which was part of his left gauntlet was protected by being equipped

"What you say sounds good but i get a feeling that we have missed something" said Atlas

Forge with his mouth full spoke a muffled word "instincts"

"That's right, instincts are a driving force for animals, i think hard wired in Forge's brain and instincts he knew what this cape would do for him but that is also speculation" Alison added on

Forge was being a gluten, Atlas almost used up all the mana in the enchant mana vial that could hold 10x the normal amount before Forged let go and sloped on the ground with a huge belly

"I feel funny" and with those words Forge's skin went a darker red and the scales hardened

Forge didn't move from his spot, when Atlas had a closer look he could see that Forge was deep asleep in a coma like state, Atlas removed the iron enchanted bracelets that Forge used to increase strength and keep him warm from Forge so he could breath easier, Atlas made sure to wrap Forge around him and use the Avatar Of Fire skill with out the cape

"What do you think this is about" asked Atlas

"Do you mean Forge?, well bugs go in to a cocoon or pupa to transform" explain Alison

"But Forge is a snake" said Atlas

"Well he's shedding his skin but i don't really know, this is new to me" replied Alison "if there isn't any thing else we can test for now then i need to get back to the guild"

"I'll walk you there, iv'e got business in town" said Atlas

Atlas and Alison walked though town talking about Atlas skill in till they were out side of the tutors guild, they made there good bye's and left each others company, now that he was alone Atlas needed new robes, the beginner robes he got from the Mage's guild were torn and drastically under levelled for him and so was the leather armour he wore under the robes

Atlas went in to the tailor guild and waited in line as he did when he had his metal toe boots made for him and his apprentices, when he got to the front of the line he pulled out Razor Fin scaly skin and placed it on the table

"Good day, i would like to commission a level 65 complete leather armour set and a robe with pockets going all the way around in the inside so tightly placed that there is no room between the pockets oh and boots just like these" Atlas showed her the steel toe spiked boots, the steel was good but they were over a level 1 leather boots

"What even the back of the robes were you can't reach the pockets" asked the girl at the desk, she was about twenty years in age

"Yes, i want it from the coaler to the base of the robe" explained Atlas

The girl was looking at the material and shaking her head "it will be tight, i'm not sure if you have enough for both"

Razor Fin was a bigger, wider and fatter creature than Atlas but asking for two types of armour was pushing it

"Do your best, you've always made good stuff before" Atlas used a little flattery

The girl didn't even look up from the flattery, it would seem she immune to it after so many tried the same thing "we always do are best" she came from behind her desk with a measuring tape, her height came up to Atlas chest and so she brought a stool with her, she was about to take Atlas measurements when she stopped and backed away

"Your'e hot" she was referring to Atlas skill

"Thank you, your'e a real beauty your self" Atlas worked for a building company most of his adult life and some things rubbed off on him, he could be a little charming as well as crude, it was a strange mixture that didn't happen often

Small giggles could be heard coming from the line behind them, the girl started to blush, caught off guard with the heat coming from Atlas body and realizing what she had said caused this girl that had heard it all before to blush

"No, you misunderstand, your emitting a lot of heat" the girl said quickly

"Mmmm, i see" Atlas moved the heat to only emit from his neck to keep Forge warm, now he had the extra effects from the fire cape Atlas had more control over the heat, "but i stand by what i said earlier, you are a real beauty, that if i was 10 years younger i would certainty ask you out on a date"

The girl blushed a little more but was confused "your'e twenty aren't you, so if you were ten, you would ask me out"

"I'm thirty, i just look twenty but to answer you question yes, i think i would have to ask you out if i was ten or i would regret it for all my days" Atlas was oozing charm

The answer Atlas gave to the girl made her blush even more, it wasn't the fact that he looked young, there was plenty of people with magic that made them look young or even just looked naturally young but the answer he had gave her about asking her out or regretting it for the rest of his days that made her feel special

She was measuring his legs and waist when she said "well i have a boy friend" she didn't want to lose her composer so easily and decided to end the smooth talking right here

"Mmmm, that is my misfortune and his gain, lucky him" said Atlas

The girl thought it would end with the mention of her boy friend and wasn't paying attention because she was stunned from his words, when she raised her hand to Atlas neck after his last statement to measure his coaler, she burnt her self on Atlas condensed skill

"Owhach" she withdraw while holding her burnt hand

Atlas reached out for her hand and pulled it closer to him self, with one swift movement Atlas pulled a red tube from his belt and splashed a tiny amount of health potion on her hand the girl couldn't believe how strong this mage was but it wasn't forceful but a gentle kind of power, a power that suggested he had done things for others for a long time and to resist him would only be unbenefiting for her

The girl was rubbing her hand while looking at Atlas, she was about to say something

"I'm sorry about that, please except this healing potion as an apology for my mistake" said Atlas

The bottle was placed in the hands of the girl and her hands were folded over the bottle with Atlas's hands

"Ding"

The girl was speechless, a heath potion could go for a little as 5 gold but this one was a darker red and this was a sign of a good potion of healing which increased it's price by a lot, the girl didn't say any thing after that and just took Atlas measurements

Atlas checked his new message

A new stat "Charm" has been added

Atlas didn't say any thing, what could he do with Charm just like the stat Knowledge he didn't know what to do with it or what it did

When the girl had finished with her measuring she returned back to the desk with out a word

"How much do i owe you" asked Atlas

The girl looked up to Atlas and blushed a tiny bit, she had composed her self and wasn't blushing as hard as before, "90 gold" she said in a small voice

"That's a good price, a really good price" said Atlas

"That's because you brought your own material, so we only need a special kind of thread and needle to price the skin and the labour cost of the tailors and other things, she had calmed down and was back to normal now

Atlas handed over 90 gold but also handed over 10 gold extra "i would appreciate it if a tailor above intermediate could work on my things, please", Atlas didn't know what bonuses a intermediate tailor would give to the items but if the tailoring skill was the same as the rest of the crafting skills then it would be better than normal

The girl didn't argue like she wanted to but just nodded up and down "it will be ready tomorrow"

Atlas said he's thanks and left the shop under all the smiles and winks from the people in line

Atlas went to the furniture shop and ordered comfy chairs, beds, thick tables and all kinds of different things to be picked up tomorrow, he also went to a toy shop and picked up lots of games, there even was a complete copy of monopoly that some one had copied and made, Atlas placed all of them in his bag after paying for them

Atlas decided to visit the mage's guild, he looked completely different when he last visited the mage's guild and because of this he was confident that anyone from the enchantment guild who was after him wouldn't recognize him, the reason he wanted to go was spells, he had been using simply spells to get things done and they were useful but he had to think about Dracken who was a mage and Mary who could use simply spells that would be useful in blacksmithing, even Forge could do with some upgrades

When he entered the guild the first person he knew and noticed was the young lad called Matthew who was stationed on the front desk

Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.

"Can i talk to Master Noah please" said Atlas

Noah was the person who had tested him for the mage's class and wrote an introduction letter so he could enter the enchanters guild

"Do you have business with ..." Matthew had looked up from his book, he's expression was one of confusion as he tried to remember who Atlas was

Atlas gave him a minute and when that didn't help he removed his big mage like hat so he could see Atlas better

"AAHH ATLAS" Matthew shouted out while standing to greet him with a handshake, in a different room a clang could be heard

"I haven't seen you in about a month or two" he was shaking Atlas hand "master Noah still talks about you

"Is he free" asked Atlas

"Yes, he should be down the arena for judging new people that want to change there class to mage, you now, the place you and him had a fight" explained Matthew

Atlas barely remembered the place and layout, "could you maybe show me i can't remember the layout" asked Atlas

Matthew reached down in to a draw and pulled out a sign saying he will be back in five minutes and placed it on the table, "sure, follow me"

Atlas was on his way to a door leading to were master Noah was, when he was sure he heard a door open slightly, looking around there was no one there, he put it down to wind and went thought the door after replacing his hat

The entrance hall way was clear and no noise was around, that was in till a door fully opened revealing a young man in beginner robes holding a copper spear, the young man knew Atlas and Atlas knew the young man as Kevien his ex-apprentice, quickly and quietly he followed

Down at the arena that was filled with sand and boulders sat a brown skinned man by the name Noah, he was writing a letter to the head of the mage's guild, he was fed up with the enchanters, as head of the Alchemists, Mages and Enchanters co-operative he was given the task of making sure mana potions form the alchemist got to the enchanters so they could make better enchantments, Noah didn't blame the Alchemists not wanting anything to do with the enchanters, the enchanters had always been stuck up but now that Atlas had fooled them they just refused to do any work, this had gone on for two months and things needed to change, after all robes needed to be enchanted and there was major work that had to be done and now it was just laying about

"MASTER, LOOK WHO'S COME TO VISIT" Matthew was shouting from the stairs that lead down to the arena

Master Noah looked up and witnessed a tall well built man in cheap armour and torn robes coming towards him, the only thing that stood out was his belt of potions and his gauntlets, he looked up at the face

"Ahh Atlas" Noah looked around to make sure they were alone, after all Atlas had fooled the enchanters and then told Noah to lie and say he never meet him before

"Is it safe for you to be here" asked Noah

Before Atlas could say, Matthew interrupted "I've got to get back to the desk encase something is needed" he patted Atlas on the back and moved back up stairs

Matthew had left Noah and Atlas alone, Atlas carried on with what he was going to say

"I don't know if it's safe but i'm stronger than i was back then plus i've changed i don't think they would recognize me but i did make sure to hide my face as i entered here" said Atlas

"So you've gotten stronger, fancy a little one on one" said Noah

"Only if a can have a advantage, after all you are level two hundred" replied Atlas

"That's right i WAS level two hundred but i'm fine with a little disadvantage" said Noah with pride

Atlas sat down and started to repair his things "i just need a sec"

Matthew was making his way back up the stairs when he passed a novice mage, Matthew took no notice after all a mage in a mage's guild was what was expected but Matthew did have a confused expression like he had seen this person before

Back at the sand arena Atlas had finished repairing his gear and had placed Forge in a safe place surrounded by enchanted fire bracelets that kept him warm "so what advantages are you giving me" asked Atlas

"How about i won't use spells above circle power three" said Noah

Atlas didn't understand what circle power was because when he changed his class to an apprentice to a magus it freed him of such things

"Sounds....good but how about i can use any technique as well as spell" said Atlas

There was a soft creak as the door leading out of the area slightly opened, Atlas noticed this but no sound was coming from the area even with his skill careful listener on

"I agree, after the count of three" said Noah

"One" Atlas noticed that Noah didn't say anything about health

"Two" this didn't upset him he had quiet a bit from mining

"Three"

Noah started off with a flame-thrower spell just like the one he used on Atlas before, Atlas used the spell clay hand to bring up sand shaped in the form of a hand, the fingers were falling off because it was sand and had little form but the palm held and was a good shield, Atlas remember that he would be in trouble unless he broke the line of sight between them, with that in mind Atlas casted Precise Magic Missile at Noah while with his hand he used Ball Of Fog spell

Noah did the same and casted magic missile at the sand hand shield, when Atlas hid behind a boulder in there first fight Noah's magic missile chipped the rock away but now Atlas was using soft sand and the hand just rippled as the magic missile was absorbed by the sand, the room was filling up with fog from the ball that Atlas casted but more time was needed in till it was thick enough to hide in

The thuds coming from Noah's magic missile hitting the sand shield had stopped and instead the ground started to rumble under Atlas feet, he could see magic was piling up underneath him because of his Magical Aura Of The Eye skill that allowed him to see raw mana, he rolled forwards to escape the spell that was coming from under him, the ground split open and out erupted a hand of rock, it seemed that Noah also had the spell clay hand but his was better, Noah was able to produce rock from sand by compressing it

Atlas realised that except for some spells he had already seen being used by Noah he was just matching Atlas spells, using Ice Walk Atlas made an area of slippery ice and sharp ice spikes, he had to be careful, he could use two spells at once but the Ball of Fog took up one of his spells and he had to maintain it, running away from Noah Atlas covered more of the ground with ice, Atlas had a quick look behind him

Noah was walking towards him but slowly to avoid slipping, Atlas could see that Noah was building up mana in his palms like when he used flame thrower, Atlas had to think quickly but with the skill Perceptual Chronometer he had much more time to think and could react faster, the spell that Noah was going to use was a powerful fire spell, Atlas couldn't allow this, not only would it wipe out his ice field it also may destroy his fog field as well

Running towards Noah Atlas started to kick the ice spikes on the floor with his steel toe spiked boots so the ice spikes were flying in the air, with gust he propelled the spikes at Noah, Noah brought his hands down and then raised them, a shield enveloped him protecting him from the shattering ice spikes

The fog was truly thick so Atlas deactivated his fog spell and spread the floor with his spell Fire Trap, the floor glowed with red light and then dissipated so only Atlas could see where they were or that was what he thought

Noah was navigating though the fire traps without setting them off, it would appear that he also had a way to sense the fire traps

and if he could sense the magic in the Fire Traps then it was most likely he could sense Atlas even in this dense fog, it turned out the fog was ineffective, Noah was going easy on him again

Noah brought his hands together and started a new flame thrower that reached the end of the arena, Atlas could feel it was coming but didn't even try to interrupt it seeing as Noah could navigate through the fog, ice and Fire Trap with ease

Atlas had to force Noah on the traps or bring the traps to him, with a huge a mount of mana Atlas brought two mega big sand hands out of the ground and slammed them against the shield in to a sandwich

The shield didn't even budge "nice try" Noah was smiling, he raised one of his hands and lightning started to form "How about trying some thing new"

With the movement of Noah's hand the Fire Traps on the giant sand hands started to glow, with the enclose space all the power of the Fire Traps were directed towords the shield and there was more than one on the giant sand hand

The explosion was intense, so intense that the sand hands started to be converted in to glass. Smoke, fog and flying sand covered the line of sight between Atlas and Noah but Atlas could see that the shield was still as strong looking as ever, some thing was off with the shield no matter how strong it was it should have some damage on it

Noah started to walk forwards again but this time his hand had lighting coming off it, a lighting whip started to come towards Atlas, the properties of lighting were that they were quick and could be a continuous attack with a status effect on them like paralyse

The whip wrapped around Atlas waist but as soon as the lighting whip touched him it caused damage and paralyse effect

You have taken 100 damage

You have been effected by paralyse

You have been attacked by a continuous attack, you will lose 50 hp every two seconds

"You fought well, but you didn't understand that my shield blocks magic attacks completely and now i have you with my whip, just give up, there's is no shame, not with what you have done today" Noah was praising Atlas but unlike last time Atlas didn't give up as fast as last time

Atlas couldn't move but he used his new trump card, his collar started to flare up and out popped his fire cape, the cape wrapped around the lighting whip and with Atlas orders increased it's heat to a white flame, with increased heat and the cape pulling on the whip the whip started to spark and break

Noah was stunned like he had been paralysed, this new fire cape thing was completely new to him and he didn't expect it from Atlas

With a final tug the whip broke and Atlas was free of the paralyse status, Atlas quickly backed away from the whip, he was thinking about what Noah had said about his shield "completely blocks magic" Atlas thought to him self, Atlas raised his right arm and used gust in the palm of his hand, out fired a glass vial from his hollow spiked gauntlet and crashed on top of the shield, the acid in the vial oozed out and started to corrode the shield

Every thing had a balance, so if there was a shield that could completely block magic then in Atlas mind it would be weak to physical attacks, the acid was doing a fine job at destroying the shield but Atlas didn't let up, he ran forwards towards Noah

Noah saw all this and was ready to repair the shield but now there was a hole and atlas could use spells in side the shield, with a small gestured Atlas moved a small piece of sand that was under Noah foot using clay hand, this broke Noah concentration and stance

Atlas used his fire cape, he reduced the width and increased the length wrapping the cape around the shield like a rope and a little bit in the hole that the acid made to stop any repairs to the shield

Noah gained he's footing, raising his hands Noah tried to fix his shield but the fire cape prevented the hole from closing up, the closer Atlas got to Noah, the more the fire cape entered Noah's space almost touching him

Noah brought the shield down, this caused the fire cape to start shorten the space around Noah, it was close to wrapping it self around Noah in till he pushed it away with his own gust

The fire cape had retreated because sustaining it drained Atlas mana like water down a sink but what was coming towards Noah's way was a wave of broken sand hands, Atlas had casted many small sand hands in till they combine in to a very small tsunami of sand

Noah was amazed, he had thought he had won with the whip but what truly made him gob smacked was the spells Atlas was coming up with, "no normal mage could do this, he must have a huge amount of mana, but how is able to cast magic like this let alone circle level 1" were the thoughts running though his head as he was covered with sand

The truth was that Magi and there apprentices which Atlas was one of, could do a lot more with magic than a normal mage or wizard, the wave of sand crashed down on Noah completely covering him under tons of sand, Atlas went to push down his mana tube on his gauntlets to refill his mana with a potion but Atlas had forgotten to replace the empty one that he used up to feed Forge, he should of known better, he had repaired his gear for the fight but nothing else, now he felt like a fool

Atlas decreased his temperature in his fire cape, the added effect on the cape was that if he lowered the heat the mana regeneration increased, the fire was low enough now that it looked like it would just go out

To help with the cape's mana regeneration Atlas sat down and used mediation, Atlas was pretty sure that the fight wasn't over

Noah was under the sand, he had managed to raise his shield that blocked magic and that had saved him, he was having trouble with using magic, he him self wanted to use a clay hand spell to shift the sand but the spell worked in a way that you needed to see where it was going, gust wouldn't work because as soon as he brought the shield down to use gust all around him the sand would fall on him

Atlas was waiting out side and was thinking to him self that maybe he should move the sand to see if Noah was all right, right then the sand was blown away, the sand that had been blown away was mixed with glass, it turn out that Noah had heated the inside of the sand with his flame-thrower to create a glass shell this gave Noah time to bring down his shield and use gust to push the sand and glass away

Noah was sweating from the heat of his own flame, the magical flame appeared to not need oxygen and this was why Noah was still breathing

Atlas was looking at Noah "Don't you think this has gone to far" asked Atlas

Noah had manifested two lighting whips one in each hand "it's just getting fun" he replied

Atlas was almost out of mana even with two different mana regen working at the same time he didn't get enough time to gain a substantial amount

Noah flicked his wrist at Atlas causing the whips to fly at him with great speed, Atlas raised his hands and used the little amount of mana left on two spells, a double gust poured out of Atlas and deflected the first whip but the second was also on it's way

"I GIVE UP" shouted Atlas, he had used up the last bit of mana with the cheap spell gust

The whips dropped to the ground and then vanished, Noah was walking to Atlas while dabbing his fore head with his sleeve

"Well, i don't think you will have trouble defending your self now" Noah was smiling and had a twinkle in his eye like a prideful parent seeing there child doing some thing great

"That fight, that is the best fight i've been in for years" said Noah "as you can guess, i don't get out of the guild a lot"

Atlas was unscrewing the empty enchanted mana tube on his gauntlet to replace it, the whole battle would of been different if he just had full mana potion on his gauntlet

"Come on lets talk face to face, help me with this fog, dust, and smoke" said Noah

Atlas had replaced his mana tube with a fresh one and he now used it to refill a small part of his mana, Atlas stood side by side with Noah, both raised there hands and casted gust, after a couple of minutes of gust with no interruption the room started to clear it self

"So what level are you now" asked Noah as he was using gust

"65" replied Atlas

"You fight really well for some one your level, i have to ask are you still a mage" asked Noah

Atlas felt uneasy, his class was no longer Mage but now was Apprentice To The Magus, but his master Alison told him to tell no one for the sad truth was there was a story of blackmail, kidnapping and many other things to make the Magus do things against there will

"Let's just say i'm still a magic user" answered Atlas

Noah knew that there was more to this but he had seen many things in his life and knew when not to ask questions, the room was completely clear of fog and other things and now Atlas could see with out his skill Magical Aura Of The Eye

There came a sharp breath from the slightly opened door that Atlas came through to get here, any normal person wouldn't here it but Atlas with his careful listener skill heard it clear as if some one spoke next to him, he turn to the door, some one was there, Atlas wasn't in danger any more from the enchanters, according to Noah he was powerful and resourceful enough to deal with them

Atlas raised his hand to the door and used gust, the door pushed forwards and hit something hard bouncing off and then closing

"Why did you do that" Noah couldn't hear what Atlas did and so Atlas action were a little strange

"Just someone being a bit nosey" said Atlas

Atlas turned towards Noah, "now to business, i need new spells for me and my apprentices, you remember them" Atlas explained what each individual one needed

"I can put a portfolio together for you but it will cost a lot" Noah doubted that Atlas had enough gold

"I thought about that, are you still having trouble with the enchanters" asked Atlas

"Noah's hand clenched in to a fists "i don't really want to talk about that"

"I'll take that as a yes, how about i do a bit of enchanting for you in exchange i get the spells for free" suggested Atlas

"With the amount of spells you need for your self and your apprentices you would need to do a lot of enchanting" Noah was secretly delighted with what he was hearing, a way had opened up for him to fill the quota of enchantments

"I don't mind, lead the way" Atlas had picked up the silent Forge and packed the enchanted fire bracelets away

Kevien was briskly walking back up the stairs leading to the hall while rubbing his head, he had a mix of emotions, he was angry, angry at him self for making a noise, he knew Atlas had the careful listener skill and that's why he had kept deathly quite but he couldn't help it, he had watched the battle from the beginning from when the first sand hand blocked the flame thrower spell up in till his view was blocked by fog, he could still feel the rumbling of sand being moved about and see the flashing of lightening and the bright colours of flame magic being used but what made him take the deep breath in was when the fog had cleared, the whole arena had changed, piles of sand had been moved and some places looked bare with out sand, two giant crystal glass hands in pieces on the floor and boulders that had moved from there last position, Kevien was also angry at Atlas, "if he was so strong why didn't he teach me better, why didn't he try harder to keep me as an apprentices" now he felt sad, he knew why and it had been his own spoilt bratty fault, as he passed Matthew who was at his desk Kevien thought "maybe i could change and get better"
