Tec Mage Chapter Thirteen: Two Months Later

Loki had just finished his bachelor's Degrees in chemistry in the real world and was aiming for a masters, he's teacher suggested he play royal road and join the tutors guild, the main reason for the tutors guild was to help college and university students, books and material was drafted and everything that a student might need was provided, for a price and that where the tutoring came in, students would tutor people to keep what they already learnt fresh in there minds and gain in game currency and with that money they buy books and other things they may need

Loki had worked hard to get his batcher degree, his family was well off and had paid his bills while he was studying hard, Loki didn't have much fun and few friends due to how hard he worked at his studys, but now he was in Royal Road he had free time to do what he hadn't done for 4 years, four days in this world is the same as 1 day in the real world, Loki still had responsibility here but plenty of time to do it in, his plans were as followed

1: Tutor and gain some cash

2: Buy and study books

3: Mess about, go to bars, get drunk, meet people, start relationships, go on a adventure, get in to fights, in other words LIFE

When Atlas first talked to Loki he looked tired but happy, "are you ok, you seem to be a bit tired" asked Atlas

"I'm fine, just been exploring for the past 5 days, ever since i started to play the game" smiled Loki "when do you want to start" asked Loki

Atlas looked at Loki and said "how about tomorrow morning, you can get some sleep, eat and wash up so your fresh and alert, this give's me time to tidy up my place and get ready"

"You have a place, where do you live" Loki was exited

"Just meet me in the training hall tomorrow morning and i'll walk you there.... you do know where the training hall is" asked Atlas

"No problem, i'll meet you there" Loki was still smiling, Atlas felt a bit awkward towards him

Atlas left the guild and made his way home after he went to the bank to pick up some more cash for tomorrow, when Atlas got home Mary had already started to convert the iron ore in to steel ingots, Atlas decided to help, as he was grinding coal into small powder and adding it to the mix of iron ore Atlas noticed that Mary was adding sand and broken glass to the mix as well

"Why are you adding that to the mix" asked Atlas

"It says in a book that i was reading that by adding sand and glass it will make a stronger metal, purer because the sand and glass absorbs more of the slag that runs off as waste by product" said Mary nervously

"Sounds good, will it work with just iron smelting and other base metals" asked Atlas

"The book says so" Mary felt worried when she tried some thing new involving blacksmith but also excited

Mary had also made three cups the size of bowls and very thick, all three were made out of clay

Mary saw that Atlas was looking at the cups "these are for the purification of the metal, we don't have a lot of ore, so this is a good way to save on fuel and make sure the ore is refined well"

"You've really come a long distance in such a short time, i'm glad you are continuing with your studys in blacksmithing"

Mary was blushing and was fiddling with her hammer

"I think i'll leave it to you, you have every thing in order, but after you finish the swords bring them to me, i'll try to enchant them"

Atlas then sat at the table that he and his apprentices had dinner on, pulled out his magic books and started to learn them, skill books were like magic in the sense that as long as you filled the requirements you could learn them straight away in seconds, within a minute Atlas had learnt all of his skill books except one, this one was going to be a present

"Forge" Atlas called out

Forge came out of his oven home and wiggled over to Atlas "look how far i can move away from my home"

"Stay still, i want to try something" Atlas was going to try one of his spells

Fire trap was a spell that places a invisible rune shaped circle, Atlas activated the skill, a circle with runes in it appeared under Forge and then disappeared, it seems that to place the trap you needed direct eye contact but a part from that nothing happened

Forge looked a bit worried "move about a bit" asked Atlas

Forge wiggled towards Atlas

Suddenly the floor lit up with the runes that where there a second ago but they were brighter than before and flames were coming out of the circle, with in a split second the fires of fire trap had made a dome of fire about 2 feet high

"Ekk" the sound of Forge was coming from the dome of fire, Atlas rushed to the dome and pulled Forge out

"ARE YOU ALRIGHT" asked Atlas

Forge was looking up at Atlas "i'm fine i was just a bit shocked that's all, in fact it felt good"

What Atlas learnt from the spell was that it didn't activate in till movement was sensed in the circle, and if there was something taller than 2 feet it would only hit the base of the body

"Enough of that" said Atlas " here is your present" Atlas offered the skill book of fireball to Forge

"What is it" Forge didn't have a clue what it was but was still excited about it

Atlas told Forge all about skill books and the one he was offering to him was fire ball

Forge placed his tail on the book "learn"

Ding

New skill: Fireball

"Good, try it out on the forge over by Mary

Forge used the skill, the mana gathered in his mouth and it looked like Forge was breathing fire, a single ball of fire shot straight to the forge scaring Mary

"EKK, what's going on" said Mary

"Sorry Mary", Forge looked sheepish

Mary carried on with the forge now it was lit, Atlas could here her mumbling but thought it better to keep it to himself, what Atlas learnt about the spell was that gravity didn't effect it and it seems it went in a straight line but it didn't have any splash damage or last long as soon as it was fired, there also no force to it, so it was only fire damage

"Ok Forge go and play with it in side of your home" said Atlas

Forge got off the table he was on and wiggled to his oven, every now and again Atlas could hear Forge using fireball in his oven home

Now was the time to make a project Atlas had planed for two weeks, the plans for the shower was ready, Atlas architect skill was at level 6 and 90% so he could use stones in a instant build, he cleared the ground he was planing the build on and also layed the pipes leading to the sewers and covered them up, he dug a foundation then used his skill to make a stone base, then a wooden shed on top of the stone base, Atlas placed a half sawn barrel on top with a pipe leading from the top going down to a new oven that Atlas had built using the skill, on top of the oven was a big metal bucket, Atlas pierced the top of the bucket with the same pipe leading to the top of the shower and sealed it at both ends so no water would leak, this way when the water heated up it would use gravity circulation and convection to move the heated water up the pipes and be stored in the top barrel were you were free to use by pulling a chain that was in side the shower

Ding

Now that Atlas had finished the shower he truly had no plans, he walked around the grounds of his home in till he reached the stones he ordered from the architect guild there was still a lot of them, "what to do with them?" Atlas didn't have any ideas he sat down on one of the chairs he had around, he picked up a stone and rolled it around his hands, "maybe a bit of enchanting, after all everything can be enchanted"

Atlas also decide to boast his identification skill so with every new stone he picked up he would identify it

"Identify"

A stone, nothing more

Then he would enchant the stone, first he tried simply enchants, just using his neutral mana

"Identify"

A stone, with a small enchantment on it

+1 to strength

Atlas repeated this in till it was dark and Mary came over with 6 swords " there, six swords, it would of been 7 but i just didn't enough, so there is some left over" said Mary

Atlas picked up one of the swords "identify"

One Handed Steel Sword: Durability 80/80. Attack 50~70.

A steel sword made in a way that gets ride of impurities

Requires: Level 50. STR 150.

Equip: Grants additional 20 strength

Atlas decided to do some thing a little different, instead of his natural clean neutral mana he decide to use fire mana that he would use when casting fire trap

When he was done using all his fire base mana he identified it

One Handed Steel Sword: Durability 80/80. Attack 50~70.

A steel sword made in a way that gets ride of impurities

Does 1~2 bonus damage to leather armour or skin, 1% chance to burn.

Requires: Level 50. STR 150.

Equip: Grants additional 20 strength and Grants additional 1-2 fire Elemental damage

Atlas didn't know if what he did was any good but additional stats were always a good thing, the tip of the blade was very dull with red, so dull that it would be hard to see if you weren't looking for it, Atlas handed it to Mary to examine

After that Atlas used mediation to replenish his mana and continued with the enchantments, he would change each enchantment by using different base elements to enchant, it turned out that wind gave the weapon a very small chance to ignore defence, water or ice had a chance to freeze the target or cause a slow status effect, and earth gave the sword more durability

Now Atlas had finished, he decided to log off and get some sleep ready for Loki the tutor

------Next Morning--------

Atlas had set up chairs and tables for the tutoring when waiting for the shower to heat up, when Mary came over, "what do you want to do with the weapons i made yesterday" asked Mary

"Sell them, but first look for some thing similar to the weapons you made and see how much they sell for" explained Atlas

"Then sell them?" asked Mary

"Yes but not to them, i want you to advertise your wares to ...." Atlas was thinking, he couldn't say players, Mary wouldn't understand "....adventures, at a 25% reduced shop price, after you've done that take 70% of the money from the sells of the weapon and buy more iron, coal and about 2 swords worth of tin ore... oh and i'm going to keep one of the swords"

"Why, you don't use swords" asked Mary

"It's going to be a gift for Borin..." the blank look on Marys face suggested that she did'n't know who that was, "the training hall instructor" Atlas continued to say

"Got it....is that all" asked Mary

"See if you can get a couple of different moulds and a ring mould" asked Atlas

"I'm on it" Mary left with the swords all tied together

"Where is Mary going" Dracken appeared out of no where, this was due to the new skills he picked up from the rogues guild

Atlas almost jumped out of his shoes "fu..." Atlas pulled him self together "just the man i wanted to see" Atlas went on to explain that the sergeant of the city watch needed a go between and that Dracken could be the one to set it, "the details are up to you"

"Be back after you have finished in the city watch, i would like you to help Mary with the blacksmithing" said Atlas

Dracken also left after giving Atlas a nod

Now it was time to meet Loki, Atlas made his way to the training hall, Atlas offered the sword Mary made and he had enchanted to Borin

Borin was looking over the blade, he was about to say some thing but Atlas stopped him, "i realise that you are a much greater level than this sword but it's a present for helping us, it's yours now, you can sell it and no hard feeling will be felt"

The big man was strangely quiet after a few seconds he said a small thank you, if Atlas didn't know better he would of thought that Borin was going to cry, but he thought better of it, after all it was just a sword

The whole weapon thing was a ploy to keep Atlas on Borin's good side

Atlas moved away, he didn't want this to be come to awkward, he looked for Loki but he was no where to be seen, Atlas sat down on the floor in a mediation position and started to enchant the stone slabs that was on the floor

"ATLAS, HEY ATLAS" Loki had entered the the training hall and the first thing Atlas noticed was Loki had a black eye

"What happened to you" asked Atlas

"Oh nothing, just a little fight in a pub, i'm fine, just fine" Loki had raised his hand to his eye and was touching it gently

Atlas didn't ask any questions after that, he didn't want to get involved, he had enough in the past two weeks to deal with and now he was free from that kind of thing, "right follow me" Atlas said

When they were both inside the grounds of the dojo, Atlas offered Loki a chair but Loki was all over the place, "Wow, you've got a forge, what's this, oh a shower this is the first time i've seen this" said Loki

Atlas waited for Loki to finish looking around, Atlas put 3 stones on the table and pulled out the iron bowl that Forge was on from the oven and put it on top of the stones

"What's that" asked Loki

Atlas explained who Forge was, and he offered Loki a seat "so how do things work"

Loki cleared his throat "arggg, you can hire me on a day to day contract but that's more expensive, the longer a contract is the cheaper it is, books are expensive but they are drafted by using text books in real life and after you are finished with the books you can sell them back to the guild, and finally i can't tutor you every day because i have to study myself"

"Ok i understand, i will hire you for four weeks to start off with, so when can we start" asked Atlas

"Right now, but before we start what level of chemistry do you want to learn" asked Loki

It had been a long time since Atlas had gone to school, "how about the beginning and if there are bits i already know, i will say and we'll passes them over" explained Atlas

"Ok, my next question is, do you want to buy a text book" asked Loki

Atlas new he needed text books to help him a long with learning and so asked for the chemistry text book "yes give me a text book please but what stops you from just running away with the money after i've paid it"

Loki pulled out his chemistry book and a scroll from his bag "this is a contract" Loki was unrolling the scroll on to the table top "as soon as you and i sign this, we are both subject to the kingdoms rules and if i break the contract then the guild will be in trouble, so just like real world"

Atlas had a look at the contract, all the rules apart from two were for the guild of tutors to follow and the two he had to follow didn't harm him in any way, one pay on time and before any tutoring starts and two staying in the same place or arranging it with the tutor,

Every thing seemed fine with the contract so Atlas signed it and then so did Loki "ok, first things first, pay" Loki had his hand held out waiting for the money

Atlas counted out the money for Loki tutoring and then did the same for his text book

"Good" Loki pocketed the cash "the time table we will be going with is 45 minutes studying 15 minutes break on the hour, and then after 3 hours, you take 30 minutes explain what you just learnt to me to see if you understand"

The studying was simple stuff at first but Atlas had to wake up Forge a couple of times, he wanted Forge to learn as well, to help him with his wisdom and knowledge, learning was all good and all but Atlas also used his skill when he was being tutored, enchanting stones, using the fire trap spell on Forge, identifying the added stats to the stones

On his first break Atlas decided to use his other spells to see what they could do, Atlas had already work out that fire trap needed line of sight and a some what flat surface to cast it, but now it was his ball of fog turn, when Atlas cast the spell, air started to form in the palm of his hand and then it went grey and a little moist, now there was a ball of fog in his palm he tossed it towards one of the scarecrow, the ball of fog moved slowly towards the dummy, when it hit the sphere expanded and covered the dummy in a thin fog that Atlas could see though, in Atlas next test with the fog he held on to the ball of fog and tried to condensed the ball, the results were that the fog was thicker and also due to Atlas keeping hold of the ball for longer it was leaking fog and continuous fog kept rolling from it

Atlas had five minutes left and so he grabbed 3 cups and a spoon, he then filled all the cups with soup from the pot he had on top of his oven and placed all of the cups on the table and started to feed Forge his food of soup and mana. Atlas offered Loki a cup of soup which he excepted with a thank you

Mary came back home 2 hours later, she felt useful, needed and special the 5 swords she had made sold almost immediately, all together she had received 175 gold, never had she seen so much money, but when it came to buy the ores she was in a trance, Mary didn't want to give up the money but this is what Atlas had asked for, many times before Atlas had said money makes money and now she understood, she had to invest in her self and the materials she used, back at home she saw that Atlas had company, she didn't say anything, after all it would seem that Atlas didn't do thing without reason, she empty the magical bag that Atlas had given her, the bag was filled to the brim with iron, tin, coal and a couple of new moulds, it was roughly 50 times the amount of iron ore she had used to make the 6 swords, it would take all day to transform the iron ore in to steel ingots, but she did it with joy, the money they would make would be huge, around 10,000 gold, the lips on Mary mouth was going moist

Atlas had finished he's break and was back to studying, Loki taught about the elements and where they were on the periodic table and that the elements are separated in to groups, there was a table of the elements in side the text book, Atlas used his Perceptual Chronometer skill, Atlas checked the skill out first

Perceptual Chronometer level 4

Slows down the perspective of time alloying for more time to think

moment speed is normal but the minds speed is 40% faster

not a passive skill needs to be activated, cost 2 mana a second

He also checked the bookworm skill

Bookworm level 1: reading speed will increase by 20% per level

With these two skill combined reading would be 60% faster and they would only get faster the more he used it

Using both skills he studied the table

Dracken had returned by this time and started to help Mary out with the blacksmithing, Atlas watched them both, it looked like they were both becoming closer, Atlas looked away feeling slightly embarrassed and a little envious, it had been years since he dated but his work came first and then it was his projects and building that took up his time, Atlas lowered his head to continue studying to try to forget

Five hours later Loki had left, six hours of studying was a lot, he promised he would be back the next day, Atlas closed his book and placed it in his bag, he starched and yawned and then wonder over to the forge with Forge hanging on his neck, his Avatar of fire skill had increased again but that wasn't all, the extra heat stored in the iron bracelet that Forge wore sustained him and he was getting stronger, in fact it was amazing how fast he was adapting, just a couple of days ago he found it hard to live with out constant heat and now he could leave the oven home with out anyone help for a short time

Atlas picked up the ring moulds and changed the design a little, instead of a round circle, Atlas had craved a triangle at the top of the ring moulds, the reason he did this was because he wanted to have a attack with the ring, a sort of knuckle duster but with rings instead, he melted the steel ingots that Mary and Dracken had already made,he poured the liquid metal into the moulds, after making 30 rings he sat at the table to clean any resin and sharpen the triangle piece of the ring, each ring he mad was the same in looks and stats

"identify" Atlas called out

Steel ring, made with good steel it gives a small defence and attack bonus

+2 to defence

+1 to attack

Atlas followed his ring making by enchanting them but the very first one showed a difference he wasn't expecting

"Identify"

Steel ring, made with good steel it gives a small defence and attack bonus

+2 to defence

+1 to attack

+3 to wisdom

+3 intelligence

Atlas came to the conclusion that a smaller item concentrated the power of enchantment, he carried on enchanting, after many hours of enchanting and meditating he had finished 30 steel ring of various stat increase, Atlas then separated the stack of rings in to three piles, the first stack was for him self and the composed of wisdom, intelligence and mana increase, the seconded stack was for Mary and had strength, endurance and some fire resistance, Drackens stack had agility, vitality and a rare 10% in health increase

When the kids saw Atlas coming towards them with a full set of rings on his fingers they knew what they were going to get "these are for you" said Atlas. Both Dracken and Mary put on there rings, they could fell the difference immediately, Atlas had made a bracelet for Forge, it was made from iron and had a cold resistance enchantment

Atlas carried on with making thing, he purified the tin ore and poured it out on a flat even surface and leaved it to cool

Atlas still had three spells he hadn't used yet, better do it now thought Atlas, the first of the three spells he was going to use were Clay Hand, "Clay Hand" said Atlas, nothing happened, he new he had the spell but couldn't understand what was wrong, as Atlas raised his hand and placed it on his chin the ground start to move and a hand and arm came from the ground in the same shape as Atlas hand and arm, Atlas tried again he called for Clay Hand and thrusted his hand up, the ground erupted and a fist busted out of the ground in the shape of Atlas hand

If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

It look flashy but the earth punch was easy to avoid with Atlas telegraphing it, Atlas tried to visualize the fist in his mind and a smaller fist erupted, using your hand causes a stronger Clay Hand and using your mind cause a smaller weaker Clay Hand. Now Atlas used Gust, Gust was a type of shield, the wind conjured around him and blew wind in the direction of his choice, finally Ice Walk was a simple magic, if Atlas stayed in the same spot the ice under his feet grew and spread out and walking give a smooth surface that was slippery and had no traction. Now he was finished with experimenting with his spells he used them freely on the scarecrow except his fire trap spell witch he used on Forge, it was time to get down to work

---------------2 month later---------------

The next two month was busy for Atlas, learning about chemistry and gaining the alchemy skill after watching Loki doing chemistry experiments. Atlas knew his magic was unusually strong, he was pretty sure that he could one shot foxes but only non named foxes, so after the 1st week of tutoring from Loki he started putting heavy weights on his wrist and ankles to even out the gap between his health and mana, stat wise he gained a extra 20 stat points in strength, agility and vitality by this method and because of new knowledge that this world didn't know or wasn't main stream had gained 50 points in wisdom and intelligence, Atlas also gained the stat concentration, with this stat at a higher level he could cast magic while doing complicated things and Atlas hoped it would help with the studying

Atlas also used his spells freely so he could raise each one to intermediate, Atlas also made new and interesting things like yoyos, tin lighters, tin cans and tin openers, the old fashion ones that you pierce the tin with and saw the lid open, these things got him a further stat increase of 5 luck when making the yoyos, 1 to strength, wisdom and vitality for the tin lighter but the biggest change was the tin can and tin opener, he gained 2 stat points to all stats, Atlas also boasted his crafting skills to intermediate level

All Stats have increased by 5.

Your Fame has increased by 10

All together Atlas was most definitely the most powerful level 3 player in the game

Atlas was running low on cash, he had spent it all on the two month worth of tutoring, but he had a huge amount of money from the selling of weapons that Mary and Dracken had made and Atlas had enchanted, Atlas kept 30% of the money they earned and spilt the rest on out goings like coal, ore and food, he split the rest of the gold with his apprentice giving them a huge allowance and placed the rest in there own bank account

Mary had bought a bigger selection of tools and moulds, she also started wearing better gear, her strength was great because she decided to copy Atlas with the weights but went even further by adding more weight, she now could make 200 weapons a day on her own plus she had reached blacksmithing intermediate level 4, this meant that she could Sword Grind and Armour Polish thus increase the money they could make from the sell of the gear they made, her weapons were so wanted that there was always a line at the place where she set up shop, Atlas went down to check on things with Mary, as he walked down to the area that Mary worked at he saw many children playing with the yoyos that he made, Atlas felt good that he made the yoyos, they didn't sell for much but the children seemed to love them and in a way that helped Atlas make more of them.

When Atlas saw how well Mary was doing with the selling of her weapons, he decide to buy the land where she set up shop and erect a wooden stall so she had a easier time setting up shop, the tax on everything was low because the kingdom was still controlled by npc, this was the main reason why Atlas had made so much money

Dracken on the other hand had set up a huge information net work and had a great reputation for paying good money for good information, with Atlas suggestions Dracken had set up a pyramid type of network with him at the top and four captains who gathered the informations and delivered it to him, Atlas didn't think it was a good idea to have people coming to Dracken all the time so Atlas set up a pigeon house for Dracken and bought 40 message pigeons that he gave 10 to each of Dracken captains, Dracken also invested in people, by paying people to study books in the library he could find out about quest that he would sell to players for a percentage of the loot and gold they found there, usually 20 percent and any rare items that wasn't connected to the player were rolled with a dice, highest wins item

There was times when the players tried to cheat Dracken by selling the gear that they got before dropping off Drackens share but because he had set up such a strong net work the info it came back to him, of course he had to set example and some times asked Atlas to help, Drackens captains rarely saw Atlas with Dracken and thought that he was hired muscle and not in reality Drackens master, they didn't show him a lot of respect and often belittle Atlas, when this first happened in front of Dracken he went red with shame, he was about to tell them the truth about who Atlas was when Atlas spoke up

"It's all right..... i was warned about you lot" said Atlas

The laughing captains started to calm down "haha... yea who told you about us then" said one of the captains as he brushed a tear out of his eye

"Your mum, when i was having sex with her" said Atlas with a straight face

The captains went silent and started to redden in the cheeks "well i assume it was me she was talking to, you see i wasn't alone with her" said Atlas

The captains had gone bright red and was beginning to stutter " and she had her mouth full so it was hard to hear what she was saying" said Atlas

The area around the captains and Atlas went deathly quiet as they looked at each other, after a couple of seconds that felt like minutes the captains burst out laughing

"Your all right there lad" all four captains had started to pat Atlas on his back

"That's enough, lets get to work" Dracken voice sounded a little shaky

Dracken sent his four captains away to search for the guy who cheated him and then turned to Atlas "i'm sorry that happened" said Dracken

"Its fine, i've worked with people like that before and you only have to give as good as you get to gain there respect" replied Atlas

"Why didn't you let me tell them about you and me being teacher and student" asked Dracken

"simple, you have to be the boss at all time in front of people like that, any weakness and there's a good possibility they will take advantage and even turn against you" said Atlas

"Should i fire them" asked Dracken

"mmmm well, that is up to you but there is a saying in my parts, keep your friends close, but your enemies closer" said Atlas

Ding

+1 to wisdom

No more needed to be said, Atlas knew Dracken understood because of the wisdom increase he got, it turned out that when some one learned a important lesson from Atlas he gain a small increase in wisdom

Just at that time one of the captain came back and reported to Dracken "we have found him, he's drinking in a bar and boosting about he's loot he found, he's not even trying to hide the fact he cheated you"

"Well done, lead me to him" said Dracken

The pub was just out side the slums and so did a lot of business with people from the slums and people from the market, it was clean but had water down drinks for people with not a lot of money, the tables and chairs were cheap and the mugs were made of wood, the pubs name was called The Head because above the fire place was a decapitated bear head that had big demon horns, as Atlas and Dracken moved in to the bar they could smell the alcohol that had been knocked on to the floor, Dracken pointed to a corner and the captain that was with them moved there, Dracken moved to the table with a laughing rogue sitting at it

Dracken sat opposite to the rogue on the other side of the table and Atlas joined him, the rogue looked at him

"What the bloody hell do you want" said the rogue

The rogue hadn't seen Dracken before and Dracken had bought a set of low level rouge gear with hood that he had dyed black and Atlas had enchanted

"You owe me 20% of the dungeon resources" said Dracken, he decided to keep it short and sweet

The rogue drained he's mug of the booze he was drinking and slammed it on the table "yes i do" he placed a small bag of coins on the table "i know that's not a lot but the dungeon was small and didn't have any resource because some one had been there all ready" the rogue was smiling

Dracken picked up the bag and weighed it in his hands "200 gold not bad" he placed the pouch of money in his bag "but i hear that you have been selling a lot of rare things and even been credited with the discovery of the dungeon that i sold to you"

The rogue was lifting a 2nd mug to his face when he stopped, he looked a little pale, he placed the mug down and started to smile "you got me, you got me" the rogue pulled out a even bigger bag of money, this one had gold and jewels in it, "here is your true 20%" he handed the bag of money to Dracken and he took it and placed it in his bag "can't blame a rogue for trying"

"50%" said Dracken

Atlas had been sitting quietly beside Dracken and knew that the 50% was due to the fact that the rogue had tried to cheat Dracken

"What do you mean 50%" asked the rogue

"50% of the resources from the dungeon for trying to cheat me" said Dracken

"WHAT.. we didn't agree to that" said the rogue

"55% and the more time you take giving me the money the higher it will go" explained Dracken

"Your trying to cheat me" said the rogue

"60%, and you did the cheating your self, it was only 20% but you got greedy"

The rogue had his hand on the hilt of his blade "i'm not going to pay, what are you going to do about it"

"Take it by force, and send you to jail, i have connections with the city watch" explained Dracken

Many people heard the police being mentioned and started to watch, the rouge was slightly pale but still had his hand on his blade, his other hand moved to his bag and at that time Atlas thought everything was going to work out, but the rogue dove over the table with his knife out ready to kill Dracken

Atlas was shocked at first but due to his skill Perceptual Chronometer he was able to cope

Perceptual Chronometer intermediate level 3

Slows down the perspective of time alloying for more time to think

moment speed is 30% faster but the minds speed is 360% faster

It use to be that Atlas didn't get a movement speed boast but as a soon as he hit intermediate in this skill he gained 10% increase in moment speed per level, it was now like the rogue was in slow motion but he was still getting closer to Dracken, Atlas was still to slow to counter a rogue that was in mid flight to his target, but he could still fight

Atlas used gust under the table and caused the table to fly up and smack the rogue in to the ceiling, Atlas spell had reached intermediate and was mush stronger, he practice it in the shower using gust to block any of the water hitting him, the rouge fell down with the table and crashed on the floor, but he got up quickly and backed off in to a corner with both of his hands holding a knife, unfortunately the rogue had backed off in to the corner where one of Dracken captain were, the rouge used the skill hide to disappear, but was hit on the back of the head, this cancelled the skill and the rogue fell forwards, right in to the path of Dracken

Dracken didn't have any weapons but what he did have was his enchanted rings that acted like knuckle dusters, Dracken put his whole weight behind the punch and slammed his closed fist in to the falling rogue jaw, with a all mighty crack the rogue went flying in to the fire place that had no fire in it, the cobble stone started to shake as the rouge hit the stones and the bear head fell from the mantle piece and fell on top of his head

The rogue was a higher level but due to his bad luck he was now stunned due to the great punch Dracken threw and had a bear head on him, Atlas knew it wouldn't be long in till he was up again, so he quickly went over the rogues body and stepped on the rogues leg, Atlas used the skill Ice Walk and froze the rogue legs and arms in ice, Atlas kept the skill going but at a weaker level so the ice wouldn't melt

Dracken moved the bear head from the rogues shoulder, the rogue was still stunned

"70%, where is the money"

The rogue had came out of the stunned effect and started shouting "YOU CAN'T GET AWAY WITH THIS, MY GUILD WILL GET REVENGE FOR ME"

"75%, i've already talked to your guild and explained to them that you owe me, and that if i didn't get the money i wouldn't sell any info to your guild members, they agreed to let me do as i please" explained Dracken

"but that's too much, i wont have any thing left, i need to repair my stuff and" the rogue was trying to explain

"80%" Dracken had already found out that the rogue repaired everything and resupplied him self, Dracken walked over to the rogues left side and kicked his leg hard

The leg shattered leaving a stump, "I KNOW YOU'VE ALREADY REPAIRED YOUR STUFF AND RESUPPLIED, EVEN NOW YOUR TAKING THE PISS, 80%" Dracken had raised his voice

Tears were falling from the rogues face, the pain must of been great but in the opinion of Atlas he deserved it, cheating, lying, attempted murder and lying again, 20% wasn't a lot but he had gotten greedy and wasn't smart enough to hide it well

Atlas unfroze one of the arms of the rogue, with great effort the rogue pulled out his bag of money, Dracken pulled the bag out of the rogues hand, he spent a minute or so separating 80% of the money, with that done Dracken looked around at all the people looking at him, he was about to place the left over money in to the rogue hands when Atlas stopped him

"Let me deal with this" Atlas asked Dracken

Dracken just nodded,

"LADIES AND GENTLEMAN, OUR BUSINESS HAS BEEN CONCLUDED WITH THIS MAN AND THIS IS HIS SHARE OF THE GOLD" Atlas started to shake the cash about to get it to make a noise, "AS WE ARE GOOD PEOPLE WE WILL NOT TAKE ALL OF THE MONEY JUST THE AMOUNT AGREED ON" Atlas was still shaking the bag of gold so every one in the room could see it, "SO I'M JUST GOING TO LEAVE IT HERE", Atlas turned the bag upside down and emptied the sack of gold on the floor, there was silence and Atlas knew it was time to leave, he pointed at the door and left with Dracken

As soon as the door closed behind Atlas and Dracken they both could hear pushing and shoving with a shout coming over the lot of noise "GET OFF, THAT'S MY GOLD"

Dracken looked at Atlas "why did you do that" asked Dracken

Atlas rubbed his chin "all of those people saw the fight that happened and a man taking gold from another man, there might of been a problem with the city watch, so i made the people in there have a reason not go to the law, now they are definity guilty of taking stolen gold but i doubt not one of them will remember this day out of necessity"

Other things had happened like the fact that Forge had grown twice as large as he was before and could survive with just Atlas Avatar Of Fire skill

Avatar Of Fire beginning level 7

Now Atlas started to carry Forge around with him when he went in to town, Forge would hang around Atlas neck and Atlas would wear a scarf around Forge so people couldn't see him but he could see them, this made Forge even happier then he was before,

The questions that Forge was asking was like a child, "what's this, what's that", Atlas was getting annoyed by the question that Forge was asking but also kind of warm hearted that Forge had excepted him so freely in Atlas eyes every thing was going well and fine

------------------------------P.O.V Kevien------------------------------------

Kevien had got what he wanted but he was unhappy, the first month at being in the mage guild hadn't gone well, he had spent the first month in the barracks of unwanted apprentices, this was the dorm where apprentice waited to be chosen by a master or a student of a master, but word had gotten out that Kevien was too full of him self and had a attitude. He still attended magical classes but with out a mentor he was having a hard time learning what he needed to do, food was given to Kevien but it was the basic of the basic, bread and porridge with out any honey, rice and boiled vegetables, it wasn't like the guild was nasty but just couldn't afford to give a free ride

On the 2nd month things appeared to get better, Kevien was picked by a student of a master to help with his studys and chores, the food had improved and he got his own bedroom, but he wasn't learning that much, when the student needed help it wasn't with his studys but to clean out store rooms and Kevien was left to do it on his own most of the time, Kevien was taking down box's and crates from a shelf when he dropped the box he was holding, Kevien moved back but the box hit his toes, due to the boots he was wearing he didn't even feel it, Kevien bent over to pick up the box and he looked at his shoes, he looked at them for a couple of seconds and sighed

------------------------------P.O.V Atlas--------------------------------------

Atlas was waiting for Loki to come and tutor him, but he was late, in the past two months Loki had always been on time, Atlas would say he knew Loki personality a bit, he seemed to love the game with all the different things you could do but he was passionate about learning and never missed a lesson, every time he saw Loki he had some kind of black eye or cut, Atlas waited for one more hour before he made he's way down to the tutoring guild

In the tutoring guild Atlas bumped into the old lady receptionist and explained that Loki hadn't turned up

"Do you now where he is" asked Atlas

"This is bad, i heard rumours that a man of Loki description was seen leaving the city limits, i also heard he was lead by a couple of mid level players to a dungeon" replied the old lady

"mmmm", Atlas didn't know what to do

"If you can, i would like to offer you a quest" said the old lady
