Tec Mage Chapter Forty Four: That Magnificent Flying Machine

With war at the front door of the Ledern Kingdom, Atlas quickly packed his things. He needed to get back as soon as possible. There was too much to lose to leave the war up to chance. Atlas wanted to get back and make sure with his own two hands that everything that could be done would be done to protect his interests.

Loki had told Atlas that a group of players had managed to form a army from other kingdoms.

Each player that was attacking the Ledern Kingdom had spent all their time rising contribution points to other kingdoms and then spending those points on low level soldiers. Each player would raise their borrowed soldiers level though hunting and then trade them back to the kingdom for more contribution points. In this way they managed to gain huge contribution points which now they spent on a army to attack the kingdom of Ledern.

Fortunately for Atlas and the kingdom of Ledern, the player's army didn't attack head on. After earning the contribution points each player was careful not to lose them by having a straight up war that would cause big loses. This was the weakness of a player army. Ego, greed and fear the weakness of individuals could destroy a army.

Instead the attacking players surrounded the city and blocked any food from entering the city. They would starve the city and win it with little lose to the army and little damage done to the city.

This wasn't all they did. Lords were promised rewards if they took their men and joined the players army. This plan was such a great success that the remaining nobility had to destroy the hidden tunnels leading in to the city to stop any of the traitor lords from leading the players in the city.

The forces of the Ledern Kingdom had whittled away, before the players army had even turned up. Ledern Kingdom was a land locked country that was protected by vast mountains. With no enemy's wanting the land and resources, the country defences had declined.

It was especially hard on the normal people. Forced conscription had been put into place to cover the lose of the traitors lords men. Even the police force were forced to cover the east side of the wall protecting the city, but even with this there wasn't enough skilled defenders.

The player army knew that a army marched on it's stomach but also that a city was three meals away from collapse. There tactic was to weaken the city and then move in to take their prize. This was why they chose Ledern Kingdom. Land locked meant there was no sea battles or reinforcements coming and so it was cheaper. There was also the added benefit that the kingdom was closed off from most other Kingdoms and the mountains protected their rear.

With this in their mind this kingdom would be the easiest to take.

Reading Loki's message explained all of this to him. Atlas wanted to leave as fast as possible to make sure the gnolls and his apprentices were fine, but he had unfinished business here at heavens core.

Calling Forge over, Atlas allowed the Imugi to feed on his mana. Excited Forge woofed down as much mana as he could. The mana Atlas was leaking was unquenchable. Atlas special skill Concentration Meditation meant he was in a meditation state all the time as long as there was a heat source around him. With the lava rolling all around him Atlas didn't need to take a break. When Forge was finished he started his seconded evolution. Forge's wings wrapped around him self and a cocoon formed around Forge's bloated body. Before Forge was completely in his cocoon, Atlas placed the two cotton rings on Forge's horns. This was going to boast Forge life by 3x his normal amount. With Atlas going in to a war like situation he deicide to leave Forge here, in the lava lake, or to be precise Atlas pushed Forge cocoon state in to the god slime.

The god slime would nurture and feed Forge while in his cocoon state as well as protect him. If anything could enter the lava lake then the god slime was their protecting Forge.

The heat and pressure that came from the god slime was perfect for Forge's growth.

Quickly, Atlas grabbed the telescope called "all seeing eye" and stuffed it in to his bag. After all, this was why he was down here. The quest to retrieve the scope would gain Atlas the ability to use a new magic only for magi.

Just as he was going to leave the lava lake area, Atlas looked back. The god slime was sinking back into the lava lake and Atlas could just make out the tail of Forge. He didn't feel right leaving Forge this way. Even though this was the safest place for Forge, Atlas had to make sure.

With an out stretched hand, Atlas melded and twisted his mana to create a new mana mouse. Placing the little beast in Adam's skull, Atlas ordered the obsidian golem to protect Forge and look after him.

Walking back into the lava lake area, Adam stepped on passing slimes making nasty but strangely satisfying squishing noises. Standing on the edge of the obsidian bridge Adam peered in to the lava, not missing a beat.

Out side the area Atlas reformed the wall that lead to the lava lake. Now there was four layers of protection leading to Forge. If some how, someone, player or NPC managed to get to this point there was the wall, lava and heat, Adam and the god slime. Atlas was satisfied that no normal or abnormal being could get by.

With the telescope in his bag, Atlas meet up with Princess. In the climate controlled base Princess, the now giant rainbow spider was waiting for Atlas. The size of Princess was roughly the size of Atlas torso. When Atlas entered, Princess feet shuffled excitedly on the floor. Each foot was covered with spider silk like little booty's. This was to protect Princess feet against the intense heat.

Quickly shuffling to Atlas, Princess was jumping on the spot. Finally she was going to leave this place and she was excited

"Mum, mum, mum, are we leaving, can we go" Princess was desperate to leave.

With a nod Atlas gave Princess her answer. Atlas dismantled his base and started to leave with Princess walking behind him. As Atlas walked up to the surface he saw many of the Dullahans that he had helped. Before leaving the dungeon Atlas was remind that he was technically naked. His body was completely covered in magma armour but this was just a skill. Blushing slightly Atlas deactivated his skill and equipped the giant lizard skin. A simple hole had been cut and Atlas was wearing it like a poncho. Around his waist was metal wire to stop the poncho from flying up and revealing Atlas privates.

"Ahhhh, mummy's skin is so smooth" Princess was rubbing Atlas naked legs. Even though Atlas was a man and his legs weren't that smooth, compared to spider legs, Atlas legs were very smooth.

Freaked out, Atlas pushed away Princess wandering touching legs.

"Enough of that" Atlas coughed.

"Ohh mummy is embarrassed" Princess teased.

All the way back to the illusion covered house that belonged to the hidden magi called Buli, Princess teased and grabbed Atlas legs. Time was a factor and Atlas rushed to get where he needed to get to. Also he didn't like Princess grabbing him like that. Atlas had good speed but compared to Princess's speed, Atlas might as well be stuck in mud.

Rushing to a hill, Atlas rapidly knocked on a mound of earth. This was in fact a house covered by a illusion magic so realistic that even though Atlas knew that the hill was a house, even the touch of Atlas knocking felt like earth.

"What are you doing mum" Princess was grabbing on to Atlas poncho with one of her legs. Princess never got to see this place before as she was still a baby spider and at that time was able to fit in a box. Now her size made it impossible for Atlas to keep her in a box.

Unlike Atlas, Princess didn't posses a magic detection skill like magical aura of the eye, so when Atlas appeared to knock on earth as if it was a door, Princess just thought one thing.

"Mum's gone crazy" thought Princess.

Just as Princess thought that, a door warped in to sight, greatly shocking all eight of her eyes.

The door opened leaving a small gap. Quickly, Princess fumbled one of her long legs in to the crack.

"What's in here mummy" Princess leg was waving about trying to catch what ever was on the other side.

"Oh, I've caught something" Princess's leg withdraw and attached was a rolled up piece of paper.

"Paper?" Princess wasn't impressed. Kicking the paper away she went for the gap again only to find that the door was closed.

Picking up the paper Atlas found it was a note.

LEAVE THE SPIDER OUTSIDE.

For a second Atlas was confessed. What was wrong with Princess. Looking at the giant spider kicking the door Atlas slowly released. Looking in to the face of the giant spider, Atlas had forgotten that this was a spider and had massive fangs that sometimes clicked together when excited. Raising her from a baby Atlas mentality had changed when looking at Princess face. He didn't even fight Princess over calling him mummy any more.

Atlas took a slow long look and shuddered. Long, thin, hairy legs protrude out of a body that was obvious not human. The face was the worst. Back when Princess had been a baby, her features could be ignored but now everything was amplified so no details could be missed. Long powerful hairy pincers constantly moved as to say "I'm hungry and i wouldn't mind eating you".

The eyes were just as bad. Each one seemed void of emotion and dead. If it wasn't for the seven different coloured eyes, Atlas would have a hard time looking directly at them.

Atlas could see why Buli didn't want Princess inside. He may be a powerful magi but there was just thing that people were afraid off, and it seemed Buli didn't like spiders, or at least giant spiders.

Bowing down on one knee, Atlas spoke with Princess.

"Ummm, Princess" Atlas was kind of nervous. He had played with Princess for about a month and forgotten what Princess was, but now he had reminded himself that this was a spider and truly how frightening it looked.

"Yes, mummy" Princess stopped kicking the door and came face to face with Atlas. Her long legs reached over and gently touch Atlas face with affection.

With great control, Atlas stopped him self from jerking away. Slowly Atlas placed his hands on the wandering spider legs and placed them on the floor.

"I have some matters to deal with, you need to wait here" explained Atlas.

"But i want to come with you" Princess telepathic voice went up a notch. She felt like there was some thing special in side and felt left out.

"No, no, no. The owner wants his privacy" lied Atlas. He wasn't going to hurt Princess feelings for no reason.

"I don't want to" Princess was a child and right now was throwing a paddy.

"I won't be long, and if your a good girl i will cook for you" said Atlas.

"Huff, I don't like mummy's cooking, it taste weird" answered Princess.

Atlas cooking skill was at intermediate level. This level was high enough to make normal NPC beg for a meal to be cooked but Atlas yet again had forgotten that Princess was a spider and thus like her food alive, and if not alive then raw.

Atlas face twisted with concentration as he had to keep on reminding him self that Princess was a spider and liked different things. Seeing this Princess thought that Atlas was hurt by her words.

"No, wait, I...I'm sorry mummy i didn't mean it" Princess freed her legs away from Atlas grip and started to touch Atlas face again.

"I will stay out side.... just don't be sad" Atlas could of sworn that Princess eyes were tearing up.

Even though spiders couldn't cry, Atlas had made a connection with Princess and because of the time that Atlas spent with Princess and the time he had saved her life, Princess truly saw Atlas as a mother and couldn't bare seeing Atlas upset.

"Good girl" softly, Atlas patted Princess on her head.

Happy, Princess legs jiggled on the spot making a rapid tapping noise.

Atlas left Princess out side waiting for his return. As soon as Atlas was out of Princess line of sight, she started rubbing her front legs together. If Atlas saw this he would think that Princess was up to no good and to be honest, he would be right. Jumping in the air, Princess disappeared by leaping on to the roof.

Inside Atlas was offered a seat, which he promptly refused. Time was a factor and he needed to make a move as soon as possible. Pulling out a golden telescope from his bag, Atlas promptly handed over the item.

Buli ran his hands over the telescope gently caressing the item. Now and again his little dwarf eyes would dart back at the door to make sure there was no sign of the giant spider.

"urhm" coughing and clearing his voice, Buli eye's moved away from the door.

"Yes, everything seems to be in order" Buli was peering though the telescope while pointing it at the door.

"I can't find it" droplets of sweat appeared on his forehead. The telescope waved from side to side trying to find something.

"I don't want to seem rude but I'm tight for time" Atlas pointed out.

"Ding"

The all seeing eye.

Buli has gained the telescope called the all seeing eye. A magical telescope that can peer though the most dense of items. Nothing can block its view.

The magus apprentices "Atlas" has retrieved the all seeing eye and handed it over to Buli Ironsmith

Reward: Illusion magic.

"Right, right. Lets start then" Buli stared at Atlas thinking for a moment.

"First there is illusion of the eye" Slowly Buli raised a finger.

Atlas attention was fixed on the finger and to his surprise a flower grew out of the tip.

"Go ahead, touch it" Buli encouraged Atlas to feel the flower.

With out stretched fingers, Atlas hand went straight though it.

"A illusion that can fool the eye. The further some one is away from the illusion the harder it will be to distinguish if it's real" explained Buli.

"Second, illusion of the mind" Buli offered Atlas the flower.

Again Atlas hand reached for the flower but this time he could feel the petals smoothness and the stems rigidness.

"This one is a little more difficult to master. One needs to know the texture and weight. If you make some thing that you don't know completely in and out and your opponent does then then there will be a good chance that person will see though the illusion" Buli lowered his finger and the flower disappeared.

"Finally there is the third" Buli's face had change to a stern look. There was no happiness or sadness. He was being completely serious.

"Illusion of the heart" Buli paused for a moment.

"Illusion of the heart can change your opponents emotions. Your deepest enemy can be turned and made to be your most trusted friend. You can even pursued them to die for you" Buli face was tilted downwards as his small dwarf head moved from side to side.

"And because of this, i won't be teaching you illusion of the heart" Buli's turned around on the spot so his back was facing Atlas.

Atlas could sense that nothing would persuade Buli to change his mind. There was something in the way Buli just looked that suggested he regretted making the illusion of the heart.

It was a little disappointing but Atlas could see the magic would be to much for him to handle. He would constantly debate if he should ever use illusion of the heart. To change someone's feelings, what right did Atlas have.

"I understand" Atlas nodded towards Buli's back.

Buli nodded in satisfaction. Kneeling down Atlas lowered his head towards Buli.

Buli rubbed his small think hands over Atlas head. The way magi transported their unique magic to other apprentices was directly by touch. This stopped any one expect magi or apprentices magus from learning their magic. No books or scrolls just direct contact. This stopped anyone from stealing magus special magic and the only way was for the master to freely give it.

"Ding"

Illusion of the eye and illusion of the mind has been learnt

"Excellent" thought Atlas. This was his second magus magic. The first was Soul Sorcery where he was able to peer into a persons soul to see what kind of person they were.

Just then, there came a crash from the ceiling and down dropped Princess.

"I FOUND YOU MUMMY" Princess was bouncing off the walls in excitement.

More items fell over as Princess many legs scattered around.

"What's this" Princess was climbing up the massive telescope that Buli used to keep track of the stars.

Atlas caught sight of Buli twisted face but before he could tell Princess to wait out side, Buli had backed away knocking over a table. In a corner Buli screamed.

"GOD DAMN IT, I LEFT THE MINES TO GET AWAY FROM SHIT LIKE THIS" with a wave of his little hand Buli turned in to a massive bear.

Buli Ironsmith had been part of a long family of blacksmiths. He was thought to be the next head of his family. With his magic, that dwarf's didn't usually have, he was able to create great pieces of work. That was until the day he was cornered underground by a swarm of giant spiders. Dwarf's naturally liked living under mountains where there was plenty of minerals but there was other things that lived under ground too and spiders were just one of them.

Buli Ironsmith killed all the spiders that had cornered him but from that day on he had a phobia and swore to stay away from anything that might lead to spiders. He left his country and moved to the floating land of heaven. Here was the naturally enemy of all spiders, the bird people called Avians. Buli felt safe here and because he lived above the clouds he was able to study space without much to block his view.

In the corner, the bear illusion growled loudly but this wasn't enough to frighten Princess away. Instead she steadily got closer with her fangs raised ready to attack. Spiders could take down things much bigger than them selfs and this was why instead of being frighten Princess was ready to fight.

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

"GET OUT, GET OUT, GET OUT" the massive bear illusion was spoiled from the high pitch screams coming from it's mouth.

Atlas grabbed Princess around her back and lifted her off the ground. Her legs waved in the air like a drunk man being held back from a fight.

"You want to fight, then fight me" Princess telepathic voice rang out.

"I'm sorry, kids huh" said Atlas.

As Atlas turned to leave, Princess threw her webbing at the giant illusion bear. Totally missing, the bear illusion screamed even higher than before and rolled in to a protective ball.

Quickly leaving was the right thing to do but Atlas was having trouble pushing Princess out of the door. Her many legs pushed back against the door frame as she tried to get back to the fight. Only after struggling and getting lucky did Atlas leave with Princess yelling at the giant illusion bear.

"I WILL BE BACK TO FINSH THIS" Princess voice echoed in Atlas mind as she thentened Buli.

Moving as fast as he could with a heavy giant spider in his hands, Atlas dashed away. Coming to a stop out side the city he had visited before, Atlas put down Princess.

Landing on her feet, Princess rubbed her face with one of her legs.

"That was good wasn't it" bouncing on her legs, Princess was overjoyed. It turned out that Princess like to fight.

Sitting down Atlas rubbed his head. Right now he need to get back to Ledern. It would take about a week to get back and in that time Atlas apprentices and gnoll friends might have been killed.

Looking to the sky Atlas spotted his mana sparrow cloud coming his way.

"Huuuu, if only i could fly. Travelling in a straight line would cut days of the travel time" suddenly Atlas stood to his feet

Atlas couldn't fly with magic, he hadn't learnt it yet but he could make something that could.

"Stay here with the mana sparrows" Atlas pointed to Princess.

Before Princess could say anything Atlas had disappeared in to town. Princess was stunned and was about to follow when the mana sparrow cloud flew down to block Princess.

"Oh a new contender for my belt as champion" Princess raised her fangs ready for attack.

When Atlas returned he was meet with Princess floating in the air, held by many mana sparrows. It seemed that not even Princess could over power a flock of mad battle crazed sparrows. Yes, she had managed to tie up some of them but there was so many that if one was caught in a web three would peck it free.

"Mummy, help me. They are bullying me" just like a child that had bitten too much off, Princess cry out for her mummy.

"OK, that's enough" ordered Atlas.

Hearing their masters orders the sparrows let go. With a thud, Princess hit the floor and ran to hide behind Atlas.

"YOU...YOU GOT LUCKY THIS TIME" squalled Princess.

"Leave them alone. If you mess with one they all will attack" said Atlas.

"They started it" Princess was kick dry dirt in the direction of the mana sparrows.

Atlas unloaded his packs. Putting items in piles Atlas started to work.

Metal was melted using Atlas fire cape and with the help of condensed oxygen, Atlas was able to do his work faster. The running metal was shaped using moulds from earth and magic called metal control.

Magic quickened the pace of work and in no time Atlas had made a diamond shaped cage. This was the frame of Atlas build. On the frame Atlas screwed wooden boards. Inside Atlas had fixed a wooden chair. With the wood attached, the build looked like a sled.

This was the easy part. Now was for the more difficult part.

In the back ground Princess was stalking a lone mana sparrow. Closer and closer she got until she was in striking distance. Like a flash she had whipped a silk spider web bag and scoped up the mana sparrow.

Princess had thought about what Atlas had said, "If you mess with one they all will attack" But what would happen if she used stealth to attack and grab one that was alone. Princess made sure that she wasn't seen by the lone sparrow or any other sparrows.

"Ha, i will just catch you one at a time" but as Princess thought that, a cloud of mana sparrows swooped down and grabbed Princess.

"NO...NO....NOOOOO" Princess was being dragged away by the mana sparrows. One of her legs was scrapping along the floor as she tried to gain her footing.

"As long as i can gain my footing it's not over" Princess thought, but that thought was quickly taken as a new smaller group of mana sparrows swooped down and lifted the straggling leg.

"Mum, mum, mum" Princess called out. She had lost and now she was calling for help.

"Play nicely" said Atlas.

This wasn't an order to let go and so the mana sparrows didn't.

Princess was lifted up and absorbed by the mana sparrow cloud.

In the cloud all that could be heard was Princess trying to free her self while shouting "NO"

Back to Atlas new invention, he had fixed a joy stick in the cock pit and on the back of his invention, Atlas had fixed mana gems. Mana gems held a mana supply while the gems them self were enchanted with a spell. Each gem had Mithril wire connecting the gems and leading down to a peddle. The build was almost finished, there was only one more thing to do.

Atlas pulled a square red stone from a bag. This was a Levistone. The very same stone that made the floating land of Heaven float. Atlas had found that when heated the Lavistone would cause lift. Some Levistone was left in the black root cottage storage room. Under the chair Atlas attached the Levistone.

With a finished product Atlas got a message.

"Ding"

A useful invention has been made, please name your creation

Atlas had made a plane. It was hard to name a invention that already had a name. With a thought Atlas named his plane

"Magnificent flying machine" Atlas took this name from a movie he watched.

Sitting in the cockpit Atlas pull on the joystick. Shuddering a little Atlas raised off the floor along with this machine. The joy stick was attached to a ridged piece of wood that ran along the under carriage. At the end was a copper plate that was enchanted with heat. When Atlas pulled down on the joystick it would cause the enchanted copper plate to come closer to the Levistone to cause lift. With a push on the joy stick, the copper plate would be further away from the Levistone and thus cause a drop.

Atlas was in a rush so this small test would have to do. Packing his thing Atlas got ready to leave.

"Follow me....and don't drop Princess" Atlas ordered the mana sparrow cloud.

Pulling on the joystick Atlas raised off the ground. Higher and higher, Atlas could feel the difference in the air with each lung full.

Using the spell gust, moved Atlas plane into position. This was a simple and quick build. Atlas didn't have time to make a different set of directions in the joystick. At the moment Atlas could only go up and down but by using the spell gust he was able to turn.

Turning around Atlas pointed at the mountains. The mountains were his guild post. The Ledern kingdom was settled right near the mountain range and so Atlas only had to follow the mountain range, instead of roads.

Pushing down with his foot, Atlas concentrated a dose of his mana in to the peddle. The peddle was made from mithril and was connected to the gems on the back of Atlas plane. With mithril pedal and wire leading to the gems, Atlas mana easily passed to the gems and activated the spell.

The gust spell flowed out in a steady steam of air, pushing Atlas plane forward.

Slowly Atlas moved forwards. The speed he was going wasn't much faster than a cart being pulled by a horse. At this speed he would reach Ledern kingdom in five days. This was far too slow for Atlas and so he pushed the second peddle.

The back of the plane rumbled as a fire trap spell exploded out. The speed of the plane increase so much that Atlas was pushed back in his seat. The speed increased further still as the fire trap spell mixed with the gust spell causing a blue flame to erupt out of the back of the plane.

Atlas face distorted from the acceleration and his eye's watered up as the wind stung his eyes. Wind brushed past his face causing his very breath to be robbed from him. Atlas couldn't breath. releasing his feet from the peddles and cutting the mana connection from the mana gems, Atlas plane slowed down as the wind caused resistance.

As the plane came to a complete stop a piece of wood fell of the side. This was what happened when you rushed a job, bad workmanship.

Atlas waited for the mana sparrows to catch up. While he waited Atlas grab a piece of metal from his bag

Passing out while flying was too dangerous. The metal piece Atlas held in his hand was called Harken.

Harken

Harken: Durability 1500 / 1500.

Living metal.

Is a Living metal that can change shape at will of the user.

With a steam of mana feeding the metal it will change shape.

Restrictions: high acid potion techniques for melding the Harken together .

The Harken will drain 10000 mana a day

Self repair

Alchemy skills required.

Tapping Harken to his face the metal changed shape and fixed it self to Atlas head. At this point of time Atlas was thinking about his apprentices and the gnolls.

Sensing this, the Harken metal transformed in to a silver coloured wolf head. The fur was incredibly detailed and even though it was metal the ears moved like they were real. The muzzle was showing it's teeth allowing air to enter but not at a speed that robed Atlas of air. Even the eyes narrowed as if alive, blocking the powerful drafts from racking Atlas eyes.

With this metal wolf head on, Atlas no longer looked like a hobo. His poncho was still an unrefined skin of a giant lizard that was tied around his waist using metal wire but now with the silver wolf helmet, Atlas looked dangerous.

Looking back over his shoulder, Atlas saw the mana sparrow cloud coming. As it got closer he could hear the faint cry of Princess getting louder and louder.

"no, no, no, No, No, No, NO, NO, NO" the mana sparrow cloud came to a halt.

Carefully the mana sparrows dropped Princess off on Atlas lap. The flying machine dipped a little with the added weight.

"Don't move" said Atlas to Princess in his most stern voice.

"NO, NO" it would seem that "No" was Princess favourite word at the moment. Princess was about to start jumping about again when Atlas raised his voice again.

"STOP, I SAID DON'T MOVE" Atlas voice had no humour in it and Princess could tell Atlas meant it this time.

Staying on Atlas lap, Princess didn't dare defy Atlas this time. The only thing she did do was whisper "no" in a vain attempt to defy Atlas.

Princess knew who Atlas was even with this mask on. She could sense Atlas mind with her telepathic. She sulked while keeping her head down.

Pushing down on the pedals Atlas rushed ahead again. This time the mana sparrows were able to keep up, now they didn't have any extra weight.

The speed was truly astonishing. What took five days by cart took Atlas an hour but there was draw backs. The contraption consistently vibrated as the gems fired a constant stream of powerful magic. If Atlas had time he would of added springs to absorb the vibrations. When Atlas reached the mountain peaks another piece of wood fell off.

The Magnificent Flying Machine was coming apart due to the vibrations.

"I don't feel well" called out Princess.

Before Atlas could react, Princess threw up and Atlas.

The green vomit bubbled as it hit the skin of the giant lizard that Atlas was wearing. Princess vomit seemed to be made of acid judging by the way it bubbled but Atlas was covered with giant lizards skin that was at least two hundred level monster. Acid at this strength couldn't do anything to it.

Atlas Brushed the vomit off.

"We'll go a bit slower" said Atlas.

Atlas reach out and pushed himself away from a mountain peak that he was slowly drifting to. As soon as Atlas touched the mountain he got a message.

Atlas was no longer stunned from random bonuses. He him self had found that reaching a certain level in skills often gave small bonuses, like the one he had just received. Also making items gave great bonuses too. Atlas asumed that the reason he didn't get a good bonuses before was that he didn't make the plane well.

Atlas thought to him self. Turning his mashine Atlas pointed towords Lerdern. Gently Atlas flew forwads using the mountains as a guide. When he came close to the next mountain peak Atlas brifly touched the tip

Atlas had to go slow when travailing near the mountains tops. A great speed would be harder to steer and Atlas could clip in to a mountain and crash.

Even though Atlas was in a rush, he didn't regret using the mountain as a guide. The extra bonus stats he gained when touching each mountain top would be a great help in the future. Very rarely Atlas didn't gain anything due to the fact someone had all ready reached the top.

A couple more hours later, Atlas was coming to the belt of mountain that surrounded the Ledern kingdom. Touching the last mountain, Atlas received two messages.

Atlas in his Magnificent Flying Machine glided towards the Kingdom of Ledern. Before he could even see the city, Atlas spotted rows and rows of tents, camp fire and busy soldiers. Carts of supplies were feeding the players camp like blood to the body.

To stop anyone seeing Atlas and his flying machine, he casted his rain cloud spell all around him. Until know he had used it as a water supply for when he couldn't find a lake or river but now it was used for stealth.

If anyone looked up in the sky all they would see was a wondering dark cloud but unlike them Atlas could see them. Atlas could see mana in it's raw form, and because everything had mana, Atlas could see them. Unfortunately Atlas didn't have a eye technique to see up close. This skill belonged to classes such as hunters, archers or the hidden class, spy.

But none the less, Atlas could see the little dots that represented individual people and the formations that was lead by other small dots.

Slowly as not to disturb the rain cloud Atlas flew in to Ledern City and descended down to the back garden of the Four Jacks shop.

Just as he descended and touched down Atlas was meet with a group of angry gnolls in battle armour. Their weapons were raised and ready to attack. Leading them was Mary with her giant two handed spiked war hammer.

Each one was poised and ready to attack. It was clear that they didn't recognize Atlas, wearing the skin of a giant lizard and having his face completely covered by the wolf helmet mask. Raising his hands, Atlas was about to give up and explain. That was until Princess perfect timing for causing trouble kicked in. Jumping from Atlas lap, Princess ran around the Magnificent Flying Machine.

Shocked at seeing this giant spider running around. The gnolls charged.

End Of Chapter Forty Four

So that was the end of the Heaven's core ark. Now there will be the war ark.

Fun little side question, can anyone tell me the first time Levistone was mentioned

Hoped you enjoyed

P.S. I may have wrote that the kingdom Atlas lives in is called Lerdern, but it's Ledern.
