Chapter 46

Morning of the... 42nd day.

>Welcome To Tardeyad!

Ah, just what I like to see, and exactly what I needed. I need to sell a ton of things from my inventory so I can afford a slave. I still don't know for sure that I want to buy a slave, but I might as well have enough money to buy one if I see a good one for sale.

In my inventory, I have 233 iron swords, which are worth 120 credits each. After selling them all, I have 27960 credits. That's a lot of credits, but not enough to buy anything too amazing. I still need more.

There has been a couple skill books that I've been passing over. They would only do things that I can already do, but faster. Because I need to find ways to make money faster, these skills are just what I need. From the credits I already had, I now have 36790, more than enough to get these skill books.

>Craft - Create a product from ingredients. Must have previously created the product by hand. Consumes ingredients.

>Loot - Retrieve lootable items from a dead creature.

>Dismantle - Retrieve crafting ingredients from an item. Destroys the item.

I get the three of these for just 2,800 credits. It's funny how such an amount is hardly anything to me now, but was an unobtainable amount less than two months ago. with these skills, I can do something about the intense amount of dead bodies in the inventory.

In my inventory, I have 15 Iron-Hide Devil Hounds, 21 Black Tailed Fortiler, 2 Black Bears, 5 Mountain Wolves, and 15 Giant Black Leeches. For the Iron-Hide Devil Hounds, I keep their iron and discard the corpses, which can't even be used as food. That's 900 pounds of iron. For the Black Tailed Fortiler, I can get 18 feet of leather from each one, equaling 378 feet. For the Black Bears, they each give 200 pounds of meat and 24 feet of leather. That makes 400 pounds of meat and 48 feet of leather. Each Mountain Wolf has 8 feet of leather, making my total from them 40 feet. The Giant Black Leeches don't have any parts that can be sold, but I'm keeping them for feeding any vampires I come across.

This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.

In my inventory, I have fifteen Iron-Hide Devil Hounds, twenty one Black Tailed Fortiler, two Black Bears, five Mountain Wolves, and three Giant Black Leeches. I use the Loot skill to take iron from the Iron-Hide Devil Hounds, leather from the Black Tailed Fortiler, meat and leather from the Black Bears, and leather from the Mountain Wolves.

I've use the skill on a Giant Black Leech to see a result of one-hundred and five sacks of Black Leech Blood. After taking one from my inventory, I see that it's just a black sack. It's very gross, so I place it back in my inventory and wipe my hands off on my pants. Since I can, I loot the other two leeches.

After all the looting, my inventory has a total of 400 pounds of bear meat, 1318 pounds of iron, 502 square feet of leather, and 350 sacks of blood.

I take a last look at the forge I was using the previous day, and I activate my Craft skill. Just like with the Loot skill, a list of items appears. In the Loot screen, they were corpses in my inventory that could be looted. In the Craft screen, they are items I can make with the items in my inventory.

I choose to make iron swords. With the iron in my inventory, I can make 439 swords. However, I want to keep some of my iron with me, so I only make four hundred. I then sell these swords, which earns me 48,000 credits. It's a good amount, but still not enough.

This leaves me with 82,990 credits. I could afford a cheap female slave, or a laborer or two, but I want a high-class slave. I also need to buy more cloth and coal. Heck, I'll buy five hundred pounds of coal for 5,000 credits and I buy 300 yards of cloth for 300 credits. Now I have 77,690 credits.

Now... slaves, magic, or skills?
