Chapter 17
>Welcome To Tardeyad!
That is my favorite thing to see in the morning! Time to check my inventory and credits one last time before visiting the shop.

With all this, I also have 2040 credits. Two magic books for me, thanks! I open the shop, and I can't wait to check out what kinds of magic I can afford!
>**Magic Skills**
>Basic Fire Magic
>Basic Water Magic
>Basic Earth Magic
>Basic Plant Magic
That is all I can afford. It isn't much, but I have a feeling that I have a long road ahead of me. These four magic types look cool in their own way, but I think I'll start with water magic because there is so much snow around here. After that, I think I'll get earth magic. Can't go wrong being able to control rocks and stuff.
Now that my kill-earned credits have been used, I'm going to sell my materials to see what all my hard work utilizing skills has earned me. Surprisingly, everything is worth the same as it was in the shops in the town. 600 credits for the bear meat, 300 credits for the bear hides, 280 credits for the wolf hides, and 60 credits for the hare hides. That makes 1240 credits for everything. It's not as much as I had before, but I just know I'm going to find some good skills to buy with this.
Back in the shop, with my 1280 credits, I buy several skill books. Survivalism, which I'm not entirely sure what it will do, is my first skill book. For 300 credits, I'll be able to drink my own piss. Yay. Next, I get heat vision for 300 credits. Now, I'll be able to see those pitch black snake things. That's 600 credits, so I think I'll choose something for combat now. I could get Sneaking for 300, or I could go all out and get NINJA for 600. I think about it for a second, and I get ninja. I'm a freaking ninja now. A NINJA! A legit game assassin.

Exiting the shop, I use the newly purchased skill books. Basic Water and Earth magic, how to turn all this bear fat I've got into oil, the ability to see hot things easily, and the ability to move completely silently!
I have 80 credits left, though, so I decide to spend them on demon arrows, four of them. With my demon arrows and my steel bow, I head to the Black Mountain Snake dungeon. Before entering the cave, I turn on night vision and heat vision and head inside.
With heat vision, I can easily see when I am coming up to one of the giant snakes. With one shot of the demon arrows, the Black Mountain Snakes die. This is too powerful, I think to myself. The demon arrow seems to aim right for the spine of the snake, or impaling its brain. I kill five of the Black Mountain Snakes before I reach the boss room. It seems like five of the snakes will spawn at a time, and they do not respawn for a while.
With the demon arrows, I make short work of the boss. Just one arrow through the head if enough to kill it, and I continue on to the treasure chest.
>**Treasure Chest**
>Credits x300
>Opal Gem
>Iron Daggar of Frost
No potions this time, and I think I'm going to sell it all as soon as I can. I don't think I can do anything with the Black Mountain Snakes or the mother, so I just sell those whole to the shop. From everything in the dungeon, I got another 1780 credits. I could get used to this.
I return to the house and try to think of what to spend it all one. It would be good to have some extra credits to buy a skill when I really needed it, but I can probably earn credits for the skill before the shop day comes up. I joked about getting a mining skill earlier when I first got x-ray vision, but now I might actually get it. If I got mining skill and a blacksmith or weaponsmith skill, I could start some serious business.
