Chapter 36
"I've been here for a few weeks," I say to her. Maybe she needs help with the local terrain. I haven't been up this mountain much, so I don't know what is up there.
"Do you know anything about the Fire-Tipped Dragon seen around these mountains?" Yeah, I know about it, but only from the quest in the adventurer's guild. If she is planning to take it on... I want to watch!
"I don't know anything. Are you planning to fight it?" I ask her.
"If I can track it," She said, raising her head and sniffing the air. "I can kill it." She must have a special nose.
Apparently, she was unable to smell anything and went to look at the hound she killed. After looking at it for a second, she put it in her inventory.
"Would you mind if I watched?" I ask her. Watching someone kill a dragon would be like watching a super realistic movie. She's got painted black armor on, and not sparkling white like I would have preferred, but beggers can't be choosers.
"You want to watch a life or death battle?" She asks, looking my way.
"Yeah, I was going to take the quest tomorrow or the next day, whenever I made it back to town." Maybe not that soon, but I actually wanted to try getting some more rank B quests before something rank A.
"If you think a fight with one of these puny hounds is impressive, I don't think you will survive even watching a fight with a dragon." She says, but she can't scare me.
"I won't get in the way, I just want to see first-hand how strong they can be." It's true that I want to see how strong a dragon is. It will be cool.
"No, now go home." She says, and she walks away." She turns her back to me, and I use my Identification Vison on her.
>**Identity**
>Name: Valery Odule
>Level: 83
Wow, a level 83! She is way stronger than me!
I watch her walk off into the mountains, and I continue my way home. For now, I'll turn the rest of my iron into swords and maybe work on getting steel. I need to get stronger. I can't imagine all the things I'll be able to do at level 83, but killing a dragon will be easy, I'm sure.

I see three of the Iron-Hide Devil Hounds on the ways back, and I kill them each easily with my bow and magic. After fighting the first one with fire magic, I discover that my skills are still set of smithing swords. It wasn't a big deal, but I need my bow more than magic to kill the wolves, so after losing a little health to the first hound, I switched around my stats.
I reach the house soon, and I am greeted by the nearly destroyed house. I don't think I'd be able to sleep soundly knowing the house might be destroyed by those hounds again, so I need to do some reinforcing.
I bought Basic Plant Magic on the shop day, and today is as good as any a day to use it. I learned that I didn't need a free hand to use magic, but I still like to feel the mana coming from my hand. I switch my stat points so I have 10 Intelligence and 10 Wisdom and then I use the plant magic, just to get a base of my abilities.
At ten intelligence, the wood barely moves. Just like with Earth magic, when I could only get some bumps to appear, I need to increase my intelligence to make real improvements. With my stats at 30/20 for Intelligence (I) and Wisdom (W), I tried again. I can use the magic for twice as long, and the wood grows back faster than before. I could spend the rest of the day doing this, or, I could just forge more swords and buy wood for a whole new house.
But then again, I could move to a big city. It is kinda lonely out here in the forest, and I want to find more dungeons. I should check back at the adventurer's guild for the map, or see if I can buy one at the close town of Obserdine. I really should have learned the names of the two towns I've been visiting a long time ago.
