Chapter 16
I'm going to wake up early tomorrow morning and go back to my tree as fast as I can. I don't want to travel at night in cast some giant monsters patrol only at night, even though I might be able to take them out with my awesome skills. I have to pay 20 credits at the tavern again, but oh well.
In the morning, just like I said, I head off to my tree. I can use my minimap to find the fastest route, and it only takes me 12 hours to get back. Along the way, I meet two black bears and four wolves, but that is it. Once back at my tree, at the beginning of evening of the 19th day, I set my traps. I use the hare meat to bait for larger prey, but keep some traps for hares. Once I go back into the tree for the night, I check my inventory.

Yeah, it happened sometime while I was traveling, and I kinda time-skipped over that bit so here it is now.

I decide to get five points into strength to make this whole house-building thing easier, and then I go to sleep. Sleep is such a comforting thing, I'm not really sure why I even both with it. I would like to jump from tree to tree, shooting arrows at anything that moves under me. Eh, maybe I'll focus on a rogue build after all.

Morning of the 20th day, and I check the traps. I might be over-hunting, because I only get three wolves. six hares, and a black bear. I decide to not load the traps today, and instead, I take everything into my inventory to wait for a bit. I'm going to start building my home today!
I go to the perfect spot by the stream. It's less than an hour away from my tree, and I can have a fresh supply of water every day. I start by clearing the ground with the shovel. It takes a while, but I am glad I picked to increase my strength. I don't get tired after cleaning a large space to build the house at, about 30 feet from the stream.
Before I start anything, I line up 7 long beams with the door. Using the saw, I cut a whole for the door through the seven beams, and then I get started setting everything up.
The first layer of beams goes down, and then each layer over that is set to overlap, and I use nails to help fix the beams together. Having an inventory is great because I can choose where the beam comes out at, so I don't have to do too much heavy lifting. The door frame is placed and the door goes inside, and then I place the long beam to lock the door in place. Everything looks good, and I can use the wood I cut to make room for the door to help hold the beams together.
Once all the beams are placed down and nailed into place, I get started on the roof. The roof takes a little longer, but I get it with a whole lot of nails.
Once the walls and the roof are all on, it's time for cob. I don't know much about cob, but Mr. Construction skill does, he says to slap it all on there. I go crazy with the cob, and the entire house is covered with it, inside and out.
I feel really accomplished, looking at my house from the outside with night vision on. It has already gotten dark slightly, and I decide to bunker down inside the house for the day, after tanning the hides of my dead animals of course, and placing the bed.
