“We can talk more tomorrow when I’m free.”
Everyone had cleaned up when we got back to the dorms, switching into more casual clothes and gathering at the couches for a sort of half celebration. There were some drinks and snacks being passed around as people chatted about the last few hectic days.
“Yeah, I’ll send a picture.”
I put my phone away, just finished updating Hagino on the Provisionals results, and joined everyone else on the couches. There was a spot free next to Kirishima so I took it. Koda had brought down a pet rabbit so most people were distracted taking turns with it, though with his Quirk it could’ve been wild.
“Hey, Miwaku!” Kirishima asked as I sat down, “Who were you talking to?”
He knew I wasn’t chatting with my parents because... y’know, and must have gotten curious. That or just trying to make conversation while everyone gushed over the rabbit.
“It was my... brother. He knew the test was today and I had promised to keep him updated on these things.”
“Didn’t know you had a sibling, I don’t think you’ve mentioned him before...”
He’s thinking it’s blood relations.
“Yeah, well, we picked him up a couple months back, just before the Sports Festival, and I kinda took the lead in caring for him.”
“Ah, his name is Hagino. He was big motivation during the first few ‘events’ this year.” I reply, referring to both the Sports Festival and USJ indecent.
“Oh! Do you get new kids in often?”
I thought for a moment, “Roughly one every 1-2 months I believe.”
“That’s rather often... If they need help some time I’m sure some of the class would be glad to come down.” He mentioned. “What’s the name of the place?”
“I... don’t know. It one of two orphanages in this prefecture under Dr. Kyudai. He always went out of his way to handle any adoptions from outside the Shizuoka Prefecture, which were a lot of them.”
Kirishima seemed surprised, “Your the son of a rich doctor!? I thought-”
“I’m not! He just visited and donated around the time I showed up!” I interrupted, “Since I couldn’t remember my name, they gave he his as a thank you!”
“It’s not your name?! How have you never mentioned that?!”
“That’s like, a huge icebreaker and everything!”
I think that outburst pulled the attention of a couple of the others.
“Well, when I learn it I’ll tell you.” I replied taking some tea from a platter Momo had prepared and hopefully cutting off that topic for discussion.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
Conversation drifted to everyone’s experience of the Provisional Exam

“You zipped right through a crowd of them!” Kaminari mentioned, with those of us still here chatting about the final fight of the exam.
“Yeah... It’s just barely usable as it is.” I replied yawning.
“Seemed fast enough to me!”
“While I’m on the ground, sure it’s pretty good, but not so in the air. What I really need to push it to the next level is if I can get my Quirk to work from any spot on my body at the very least. I’m just pulling the air from below with my feet in the way, when I could be compressing it straight to my feet instead.” I explained.
“Though Quirks aren’t always that flexible.”
Grabbing my cup and saucer, I started cleaning up for the night. “I think I’ll head to bed now.”
“See ya!”
I said my good-nights and made my way to my room, sowing my license away and blacking out the moment I hit my pillow.

“Mom! Mom! hurry up!” A young child shouted from the doorway to the houses hallway, barely reaching the doorknob.
“You’re dad’s being stubborn, We’ll be down in a moment!” A hearty voice called back, leading a roughish man down well worn stairs.
The young boy guided them into the lounge with all the eagerness of child wanting to share. His parents played along, long having figured what their son was wanting to show off. They took their seat as he took the stage, stepping onto an old carpet, faded from the years as he half obscured his charge. A can, left behind from his fathers relaxation led laziness, pulled from some unknown corner of the long standing home, sat upright on a desk from a time where his parents still dreamt of magic.
The boy took but a few steps back before planning to begin the show.
“We cannot see the can, son.” A soft voice sounded with the weight of years of 9 to 5 and overtime to give but the best.
The kid stood to the side slightly, hand outstretched staring down the can as if daring it to disobey his wishes. With a moment of strain and final push over the edge, the can lifted, flying out with admirable speed before being awkwardly caught by the boy who turned with a huge grin stretched across his face.
“Oh ▉▉▉▉▉▉!! Well done!” The boys mother screamed with delight, pulling her son into a tight hug.
His father first laughed “I assume you got your Quirk then!”, before joining his wife in one big group hug.
The boy squirmed his way out of both their grasps before standing once again in front of them.
“Watch this!” He announced, Setting the can once again atop its display, hand out once again.
“3... 2... 1...”

----------------------------------------
I awoke with a start, still 10 minutes before my alarm would go off.
I ran my hand through my hair, sitting on the side of my bed where I got ready to start back into school routine.
This was one of the first times I remember having a nightmare, at least over the last couple years... or, it might have been a nightmare. They told me the memory loss was a result of trauma, a ‘classic trauma response’ or something like it.
But I don’t remember getting over or dealing with my past traumas, or, what those traumas actually were. If I was somehow getting my memory back then that was... good? I’m kind of my own person right now and would rather not have a whole new persons baggage to deal with in all honesty.
Anyway, I got dressed in UA uniform and met up with everyone as we were all directed to a gathering by the Principle, some sort of speech or something. I said all, but apparently Bakugo and Midoriya got in some serious trouble with leaving the dorms and having a fight. They would miss it and were to do all the chores around the dorms.
It wasn’t just first years, but all three years gathered outside for his speech. It was both a large amount of perspective heroes, and quite small for a institution of this size. Just goes to show how much is available for each and every student.
“Hiya! It’s me! everyone’s lovable, tiny mammalian principal!”
“So recently, the quality of my fur, which I quite pride myself in, has unfortunately begun to deteriorate. I have taken great pains to care for it.”
“The thing that has thrown my lifestyle off trach is as everyone knows… that ‘incident’ that occurred this summer. That is the cause.”
“The loss of our pillar. The effects of that incident are beginning to appear even fast than we imagined. From here on, we can expect that great difficulties await our society. For those of you in the Department of Heroics, it will be most prominent. And for many of you second and third years involved in you Hero Internships, you must have and even more increased awareness of this crisis situation.”
“I know this is a heavy topic and the outlook is bleak, but even if the outlook is grim the adults are currently doing their best to somehow do something about it. I would like all of you to someday develop into people capable of continuing their work.”
“Whether you’re the Department of Management, or Department of Support, or the Department of Heroics, please do not forget that all of you are successors to our society!”
It seemed that it was basically a pep talk before people got deep into the school mindset again.
With that, the speech was over, and classes resumed as normal.
Also, Asui asked about the Internships, and apparently they were like the training ones we did after the Sports Festival except now that we had our licenses, they were the ‘real deal’. With said licenses we could now take part in longer Hero-related events and opportunities over the years along with acting as real Heroes while out patrolling the city.
The only problem was finding an agency as unlike the sports festival it was up to us to reach out and connect for it.
