The walk home really was surprisingly long. And this extra Hero training was a lot more intense then I had expected. If they were against each other a lot, then I would need some strategies to counter the more annoying Quirks.
It was something to work on tonight at least, Todoroki had me completely pinned in place with a single move. But as Ojiro showed, it is possible to just dodge with enough training.
I’m gonna get him to teach me some moves.
Along the way, passing through a newer residential district with a steady pace, I came across a family of three trying to unload a small van to move in.
I had spare time, as it was usually quite free after school hours. I just called out to help, thought there was some pushback from them at first.
“What kind of trainee Hero would I be if I didn’t help out someone in need.”
“I wouldn’t call this very Heroic work.” The husband mentioned.
“Well, we all got to start somewhere.” I replied
Their kid, couldn’t be more than 9 years old, walked beside me as I carried some boxes up a few flights of stairs. “So, what Hero are you?”
“One that’s still in training.”
“But have you beaten many Villains yet?” he asked
“No... school has only started at UA.”
He waited a bit before answering. “Then your not a Hero yet!”
“Hagino! Be nice to the kind student.” his mother shouted from further inside.
I helped with the last few pieces, before everything was properly unpacked. And waved the family goodbye as I continued on my way home. Still trying to think up ideas to beat everyone as I reached my room, so I started writing them down.
There were a few that would just require being a better fighter, eg. get in close and attack, others I could pepper from a distance, and the last who were just all around powerful.
Midori, Todoroki, Bakugo, Tokoyami to name a few.
Each would probably need their own take down plan, though I doubt I’d be going against each 1v1 style.
Turns out making a profile on someone without really knowing them is difficult.

It was a few days later, I arrived early to school as always, and there was a gathering of reporters in front of the gates. Each one asking the same question.
“What’s it like learning from All Might?”
Not to me though. I was able to slip by unnoticed.
Their insistent questions caused most of the class to be delayed as they slowly trickled in. Even Aizawa seemed a bit later than usual, even though he always has tired eyes, he is surprisingly punctual.
“Good work with yesterday's battle training. I’ve looked over your grades and evaluations.”
“Bakugo”
“Grow up already, stop wasting your talent.”
“…Got it.”
He… wasn’t all shouty? Something big must have happened in there.
“And it seems Midoriya ended yet another day with a broken arm.”
“Learn to control your Quirk, because just trying isn’t going to cut it. I hate repeating myself. But you do have potential, assuming you can overcome this. Work at it Midoriya.”
“Okay!”
“Now, on to the homeroom business.”
“Sorry for the sudden announcement, but today, you’ll pick a class president.”
The class erupted into chaos as everyone announced their willingness to do it. Usually, in any normal school students would try to avoid becoming one, as it brought additional work and responsibilities. But the opportunity to lead a group of Heroes, even if they are only in training, is seen as invaluable to most as anyone aiming for a top Hero spot will need to know it well.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
“Quiet down, everyone!”
Ida managed to immediately get everyone’s attention.
“Leading the many is a task of heavy responsibility, but ambition does not equate ability!”
“The sacred office demands the trust of its constituents. If this is to be a democracy, then I put forward the motion that our leader must be chosen by election!!”
“This is a classroom!! Not a congress!!” everyone shouted.
Sometimes I feel as if this I more of drama school than Hero school with how over the top everything is.
“But Ida, we haven’t known each other long enough to build any trust.” Tsuyu commented.
Kirishima added to that, “And everyone’ll just vote for themselves!”
“That’s precisely why anyone who manages to earn multiple votes, will be the best suited individual for the job!!”
“Will you allow this sensei?!” Ida asked.
“However you do it, just make it quick.”
The top two, for President and Vice President were Midoriya with three votes and Momo with two votes.
“What the…!! Who the hell voted for Deku?!” Bakugo raged.
“Guess we know it wasn’t you!” Sero said.
Its nice to know who Deku is finally, and to see Bakugo didn’t lose his spark. Almost thought he’d become tamer after yesterday, imagine!
“Zero votes… I thought as much!! This is the harsh reality of this sacred office!!
Ida apparently voted for someone else.
“Fine. So your President’s Midoriya and you Vice President is Yaoyorozu.”
During the lunch right after,an alarm went off throughout UA.
”Security level 3 has been broken.”
“All Students. Please evacuate in an orderly fashion.”
I watch the mass panic unfold in front of me, as students from all classes, of all years try to push their way out. Ida ended up calming everyone which resulted in Midoriya passing his position to Ida, making him the new Class President.

Walking back late as the sun started to set, I passed along the block of new buildings noticing that they had sustained heavy damage, with police sectioning off the area from the public.
They called out as I ran up, “This areas off limit to a rampaging Villain!! Heroes will be here soon!”
“Good to know!” I shouted as I sprinted past them, heading straight for the building I’d seen standing just the day before.
The moment I got in, I had to dash behind cover, as the hugely built Villain was standing nearby. The seconds dragged on like hours, before he jumped away, taking the wall with him.
I moved out from my cover, immediately noticing two forms lying amongst the rubble. It was the wife of the family I’d only just helped out. Both of them were the wife.
One of them was twisted in impossible directions, an arm pulled off, stretched by the rubble holding her apart.
The other was completely untouched. And, before my eyes... smoke pouring off it, it turned into the small form of their child, Hagino.
“It’s okay, I’m here.” I whispered, trying to comfort him.
“You sure are!” A deep voice said from behind me. The Villain that caused all this carnage, noticeably less bulky yet still like his muscles were trying to escape him.
“Trying to act the Hero, are we? Well go on, try!” He started.
“People like you disgust-”
I let him ramble on and tried to think of a way out of this. With Quirk usage being illegal, all that I could come up with was a section of support that was barely holding together above us. Use my Quirk on that and no one would know.
I got ready to grab Hagino and run, not only to avoid whatever I bring down on us, but also because I didn’t know if it would stop him all that long.
I pulled on the support, scooped Hagino up, and ran out from the wreckage before the Villain could do anything, getting apprehended by the police the moment I got to safety.
They gave me quite the talking to as the Heroes swept the area, Though I got off easy because throwing your life away recklessly wasn’t technically illegal.
Even though I was free to go, I stayed back to explain That I could take Hagino back to my orphanage for the night, or if we need to get him registered.
That was how I spent my night eventually getting the kid to sleep.

I was late up the next day, and after rushing to school, getting changed into my costume for what would be a full day training in the U.S.J building for some rescue training, I started making my way over.
The UA campus was massive. The other students had taken a bus to the centre, so while I was initially not all that late it didn’t really matter.
Right before reaching the disaster centre, I was passed by a speeding Ida, so I started picking up the pace using my Quirk as though it is usually against the rules, this seemed like an emergency.
I squeezed between the two massive doors, and was overwhelmed by what I saw.
The disaster centre actually had every disaster imaginable. The entire building was closed off from the world, holding an absurd amount of space. It looked like it could hold tens of thousands of people.
And everything was falling apart.
Villains were running too and fro, as my class mates tried to fend them off, and All Might was attacking a large black bodied Villain with powerful blows.
Before I could make a move, a black void opened up underneath me. I fell through, hitting a rough rocky ground in a mountainous area. Nearby I could here a group of Villains... or what turned out to be one Villain, Kaminari in his hands, and Momo and Jiro just in front of him.
I could figure out the rest.
My launchers might not be enough to stop the Villain, and I couldn’t risk Kaminari like that, so instead I crawled up close behind cover. I leapt out, punching at his arm, using my launcher for some extra damage and knocking his grip loose enough for Kaminari to escape, though it seemed he had fried his brain from an earlier attack.
Momo and Jiro didn’t sit still either, with Jiro pulling Kaminari to safety and Momo making a pole and shield with her Quirk to help me out. Neither of us were weak by any means but this Villain was able to mostly shrug off our attacks.
Jiro used her EarJack Quirk to blast him with sound waves, slowing him down and disorienting him. It was all we could do to hold him off, fear skyrocketing as one of the other downed Villains seemed to be waking up nearby.
Suddenly, bullets hit his limbs, taking him out completely. The only person I know with such an ability was one of UA’s staff!!
Ida was trying to get reinforcements!!
An immense explosion thundered out as the ground shook, and what could only have been the huge Villain All Might was fighting... Flew across the sky on out of the building!!
The Pro Heroes came to clean up all remaining Villains, getting everyone out of the building safely. I had been teleported incredibly far from the entrance, much further than I had thought, with Jiro and Momo explaining how it had all started.
Apparently they all teleported in, and Aizawa took most of them on at once, Although he was now recovering, and All Might showed up and went all out on some strength based Villain.
Apart from thirteen and Aizawa, only Midoriya had gotten hurt during the encounter. Though Midoriya was probably hurt by his Quirk, and not by some weak Villains.
The next day, classes were cancelled.
----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------
I sat at home watching over Hagino for the full day.
It wasn’t too difficult to break the news to him, probably a result of seeing them die. Still hit the kid incredibly hard, refusing to move or eat, and sudden breakdowns were common. Though I had helped out around the orphanage for a few years now, this really wasn’t my expertise, I spent my time trying to think of ways to distract him a bit from everything.
That’s when I overheard some of the kids talking about something I’d forgotten. Something big.
The UA Sports Festival!!
I headed straight back to the room Hagino was being kept, opening the door slowly but firmly.
“Hey... Hagino.” I said softly. “You love Heroes right?”
“How about I win first place at the Sports Festival for you?”
His perked up a little at the mention of the famous tournament.
“...UA’s Festival?” he whispered.
“That’s the one!”
“...”
“...You... Do you promise?”
“Of course.” I replied. “I won’t let anyone get in the way..”
“I Promise”
