START!!
All the nearby schools, who had a similar idea and remained grouped up, rushed us with a wall of balls forcing us all to jump into action and deflect as many as we could. It was clear they all had it out for UA, probably because of being a known threat with public knowledge on our Quirks.
Some of my classmates were already showing off their new moves with Mina’s sticky acid wall and Tokoyami’s black shadow being incredibly useful. There were three targets and 6 balls per person, so if people started destroying them, we would quickly run out. Unfortunately that meant no easing up on the large barrages.
One team mixed their quirks to even send balls homing through the ground, Mina and Jiro were able to stop them, with Jiro somehow destroying a large section of the ground to force them out where Min stopped them.
“Those guys have a solid defence. I’ll split it!!” One of the boys for the class that just attacked yelled as he caused a mini earthquake that threw everyone around and rearranged our entire battle field.
Getting split up this early into the exam sucked, but at least now we had all the cover we could need from all the upturned chunks of earth.
I’ve got a moment to think before anyone finds me.
I could stay in and help the others or I could try and pass before anything else unexpected happens...
There’s no reason not to do both though. Outing two people doesn’t seem all that hard, and my Quirk would probably be good for collecting a large amount of balls.
Two problems though. Just because I can collect tons of balls doesn’t mean I can use them, and there’s a good chance that they’d hit one of my targets as I move around. The first issue can be solved if I can find Momo, she could make a cannon or something with her Quirk. The second...
I guess I’ll just have to be faster than them.
The last I saw of Momo, she was still grouped with everyone else. If Momo was in some of the more trench like areas, she’d probably go for tasers or other sure fire take-down techniques... which means she could already have passed.
Mina would work as well, maybe Tokoyami too... but they wouldn’t have a way to use them...
Aaagh, I suck at this strategising stuff, I’ll leave all that to Midoriya.
“Hey! I found one!!” Some kid shouted as he charge straight forwards.
Looked like a classic case of increased strength, a target on his chest already lit up and another on his arm. He’ll block any attack on his arm as people would hyperfocus on it before getting caught, running straight to make people think his attack would be simple probably.
I waited a moment for him to get closer, jumping once into the air then again to land behind him, hitting the target on his back as he tried to turn around. He had turned instinctively, more surprised than focused on the fight and too slow to react as I hit the target on his arm, knocking him out completely.
“W-We’ve got you surrounded!!” He yelled as he ran off to leave the battlefield.
“Thanks for the tip!” I shouted back.
Moments later one of his classmates used a Quirk, turning the landscape back almost to what it was originally. I was indeed surrounded, nine kids now had direct sight-lines to use their Quirks, one had two hit targets and was protected by two others. It was incredibly obvious bait to take me out.
That made things easier.
I rushed forwards, covering the distance in just a few jumps as all sorts of Quirks went off behind me. The three I was charging down readied their Quirks with a smirk as they waited for me to reach the bait.
Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
Joke’s on them as I stopped my momentum as best I could and tackled the left kid who was down a target as shackles appeared where I just was. The bait kid must have been the ground shaper as he didn’t do anything but watch in shock.
I hit his two remaining targets as he attempted to hit mine, both of us getting hit by some of his friends Quirks who had rushed over. My last remaining target shut itself off before playing a message to leave the battle field.

By the time I got to the waiting room there were only 30 of the initial 100 slots remaining, everyone was passing at roughly the same times.
Momo was already there so my initial plan wouldn’t of worked, and so was about half of the class, with the rest all scattered around the place in the large war like brawl going on. I managed to spot Ida flying across the screen every now and then.
The free spots left were being filled up quite quickly. We were all worried that one or two would get left behind as the count continued to drop.
The large screen switched to a wide shot view showing a large laser blasting vertically into the air, I could recognise it as Aoyama’s Naval Laser.
“It’s a beacon!” Tsuyu exclaimed, “They can find each other through the chaos!”
And it seemed she was right as the remaining of 1-A met up and combined their quirks to just barely scrape by, grabbing the last open slots and marking the end of the exam.
“Zero left!”
“100 have made it!! It’s over! Wooooo-ee it’s over!!”
“And now, though it saddens us, we must usher the examinees who failed off of the premises.”
“ALLLLL RIGHTTT!!!”** We all cheered.
“Everyone form UA passed the first round!”
“Ahem, all right, everyone… please watch.
The screen switched to a full view of the entire battlegrounds just as multiple explosions went off collapsing all the buildings and throwing rubble all over the place.
“The next exam is the last! You will all act as bystanders… and conduct rescue operations at a disaster site!”
“We’ll be having you conduct rescues… as ‘bystanders’ at this disaster site.”
“You will not be acting as ordinary citizens, but as people who have already secured a Provisional License. This will be a test of your aptitude for rescue operations.”
“There are people there…” Shoji points out.
“They’re all in very high demand for all sorts of drills as Pros at needing rescue!! they’re the staff of the ‘Help Us Company’, or HUC for short!”
“The folks of HUC are on standby all over the field disguised as casualties. And it’s your mission to extract them. Now, this time you and your rescue efforts will be graded via points. If, at the end of the exceeded the watermark score, you will have cleared the exam. The test starts in ten minutes, so go use the facilities now if you need to…”
Right... I’ve got a moment to think.
Based on how it was explained, we’re being graded on how we rescue, not how many.
That lines up with how heavily Aizawa was pushing us to stand out throughout this entire exam. I’m guessing there’ll be a scoring of situation control, civilian rescue and reassurance, and probably some teamwork.
I plan on standing out enough that points wont be an issue.
Everyone would want to show their heroic-ness by rushing to help the first free person they see, so instead I plan to rush to the other side of the arena as I’m one of the faster Heroes’ here and save the most injured or most in danger, getting them to a safer spot, so when the others roll up back there, they can properly tend to their wounds.
The entire area isn’t so big that 100 Heroes with a obvious goal couldn’t cover it within a dozen or so minutes. I wasn’t leaving these guy’s for dead or anything, they’ll be picked up rather quick, probably by Ida or another speedster.
Eventual, an alarm rang, and the speakers started back up.
“A terrorist attack by Villains has unfolded! The scope of the damage encompasses the entirety of x city, and the collapsed buildings have injured a great many! The damage to the roads is severe, causing considerable delays to the first-responders! The Heroes on the scene must lead the rescue efforts until they make it there.”
The walls of the room fall out again as everyone prepares to run.
“Save as many lives as you can even if it’s just one!!!”
“START!”
Everyone rushed out the waiting room and back on to the exam grounds. I took a minute before flying off to quickly talk to Momo.
“Red, yellow, green ribbons!” I shout. “Mark the injury severity and stuff, make me a bundle!!”
“Good Idea!” She replied, quickly making and handing me a bundle before some of the other students ran up with their own need for a living 3d printer.
I could have asked her before this stage of the exam had started but the more they see, the more points they can hand out, and in this case it probably works well for Momo too.
The others were quickly heading to different rescuees nearby and attempting rescues while I ran by, making my way through the rubble, jumping over most of the tougher stuff. My first rescuees were those at the far end at the collapse city block, I prioritised pulling those in potentially dangerous positions, mostly under barely standing sections of buildings, and tying the marker ribbons somewhere visible.
Because of the limitations of this sort of thing, injuries were mostly only identifiable through asking the patient, usually only after explaining why I wasn’t ‘properly’ saving them.
“Look! I’m a scout! Full teams will be here in a minute or two and I’m just pulling you out of immediate danger, and marking severity with these bands!!” I said as I tried to move an old man out from and particularly unstable position an the second floor of a building.
“So what’s your Severity, ‘lethal’ or ‘scratched’?!”
“You can’t expect a panicked civilian to know that!” he yelled back, “You need to check properly!”
“The others can check when they find you outside, Alive!” I shouted just as the floor finally gave out, forcing me to air jump to grab the old man and land gently enough off to the side where it was safer.
“I’ll give you red, just to be safe.” I said, wrapping the ribbon around the arm her refused to use and so was probably ‘broken'.
I was about to head out to meat a team to help gather up the people I had moved out of harms way, when...
BOOOOM
The entire 50 meter tall wall exploded out right beside me!!!
