“Okay class, today we’ll be learning how to fight a Taurom.” Instructor stone said as he brought us to the underground floor of the arena.

The underground arena was just like the other arenas other than the fact that on the side of the arena was a barred room.

“ You all know how this goes, Tori you’re up.” Instructor stone said.

A red haired girl ran up the stage “ Woot! I get first blood!”

After she got onto the arena, a dome made of mana surrounded the arena and the barred room opened. A beast walked out of the room. It had a body of a gorilla and a head of a bull. It pounded its chest as it watched aggressively at Tori.

It immediately charged at her, mountain of dust flying into the air as he leaped from his position. It was as fast as me when i use windwall.

Tori planted her palm onto the ground in retaliation. Reddish brown specks of light floated around her as she got ready to use her spell. An influx of mana boomed as her spell was complete.

“BOOM!”

A large geyser of lava spewed out in front of her spraying the Taurom. The Taurom continued to charged at her, punching and blocking the lava. Its fists red and burning from the impact.

More geyser spewed out beside Tori and shoot more lava at the Taurom as it struggled to stop the Lava from solidifying around it. Its body burning from the hot lava. However, it was a futile attempt. It roared loudly as more and more lava started to cool,solidify around it. After a while, it was fully encased in a mountain of rock.

“ Yay! I won!” Tori jumping in happiness.

“Tori, you took too long to kill it.” Instructor Stone lectured her. “ Your lava is too slow in killing something, you should improve on trying to cool the lava down faster.”

“ Okay Deremick, you’re next.” Instructor stone said.

After Tori’s fight, one by one we went up the stage to fight the Taurom. Some of the students like Lulu killed it instantly while some took a long while.

“ Okay Ari, you’re next.” Instructor stone said.

I leaped up onto the arena as my name was called. A mana shield surrounding the arena as i entered. A Taurom walked out of the room and i instantly buffed myself with everything.

Time slowed down as i perceived everything around me. With my divine sense, i could see Vivian watching me intently.

This fight, we were allowed to use lethal weapons, thus i had with me a steel longsword.

An image of the taurom swept its paws at me when it got near enough to me. I instantly leaped backwards as the image hit me.

A second later, the taurom swept its paws at where i just was.

HA! This power is so good!

After dodging its attack, i used my long sword and slash his meaty paws. Though my sword was enhanced by my wind blade, my sword only left a light gash on the forearm of the Taurom

What is this thing made off!

After slashing at it, I unleashed more wind blades at it spending 30% of my mana.

It used it large hands and blocked my wind blades, giving me an opportunity to get behind it and out of its sight. My wind blades left large amounts of damage on its arm but generally it was still okay.

It immediately turned around to deal with me but i was already ready with my next spell. More wind blades were launched at its face while i tried to look for an opening.

The only way to kill this thing is for me to hit its weak point! I can’t keep wasting my mana shooting wind blades at it!

I have to play with my strengths, my mobility!

Instantly i ran forward again, going close quarters against this large beast. It was twice my height. See this beast had made me subconsciously want to fight it from far range. However, since i had no good spells that could kill it from far range, i went into close range.

It tried to punch,swipe and slam its fist at me but i effortlessly dodge everything by seeing into the future. Every time it tried to hit me, i would dodge and counterattack. After a while, it had many large gash all over it’s body. There was a large pool of blood as it bleed profusely. Eventually, it lost too much blood and bled out to death.

“Ari, you took too long to kill it.” Instructor Stone lectured me. “ Even though you are fast and agile, you don’t hit hard enough. In the future, i suggest you look for ways to improve it.”

“Ermm.. aaa.. Vivian you’re up.” Instructor stone said hesitantly.

Everyone went quiet as silence filled the air. Vivian walked towards the arena as i sat down on the bench.

As she got onto the arena, the mana shield went up and the Taurom got out. Instantly a veil of darkness shrouded Vivian.

My spirit energy horrified at the sight. It was terrifying. I couldn’t control my body from shivering in terror. It took me a few seconds before i could stop myself from shivering.

Now i understand why everyone fear her! This power, this darkness is absolutely terrifying!

Dark tendrils spawned all around her as the Taurom tried to run away in fear. However, it didn’t even had a chance. The tendrils sped towards it, stabbing it throughout it’s body. Taurom slowly started deflating and turning black as it’s flesh, blood, and lifeforce were sucked out by the tendrils.

After a few seconds later, an empty husk of a body laid there. A cold wind blew and the corpse disintegrated in a cloud of dust. A life had been demolished in the span of a second, leaving not a single trace behind, thanks to the dark tendrils.

What the fuck, it took her just a few seconds to kill it! That’s so unfair!

I had to fight tooth and nail to slow whittle it down and she just killed it in one attack! That’s so bullshit!

How can anything survive that attack! One stab from the tendrils and you’re dead!

“Ermm..Looks like class is over, you’re dismissed.” Instructor stone said while looking at the time.

The rest of the class left the arena acting like as if nothing happened.

I sat there with my gaping mouth as Vivian walked towards me.

“ You think i’m a monster too, right?” Vivian said.

“No, you’re not a monster, your power is the monster” I got out of my stupor and replied “Just because your power is powerful and terrifying, it doesn’t mean you are.”

Her face went into a mix of emotions as i answered.

“Hurry up, we got history class now.” I said to take her mind of what i just said.

We left the arena and got to class, Vivian following behind me to saying anything along the way.

“Okay class we got a surprise test today!” the teacher said as he entered the class.

What! This is my first history lesson, how am i supposed to do the test!

“New student, just answer what you know, it’s your fault for joining so late into the year anyway.” The teacher said. “You beat your examiner in your duel,right? If you can do that, you can definitely do this test.”

He gave out a sheet of paper to everyone. When i saw the question i nearly cursed out loud.

I really feel like punching him now. Hold it in, hold it in, I won’t achieve anything if i do anything stupid. When a nobleman takes revenge, ten years is not too late.

After collecting our papers and keeping it in his bag, he started the lesson. “Now that the trash has stop wasting our time, we can begin lesson.”

Throughout the lesson he spared no effort to insult me that i started to wonder if he was mentally challenged. After a few minutes of listening to him talk, i gave up ever trying to learn anything from him and read my textbook instead. I decided to study by myself using the textbook. The textbook was very large and thick, it had about a thousand pages.

With my superior intellect and memorisation capabilities i skim through it very fast. I counted that it would take me a week or two to full memorise the entire book.

While i was reading the book, Vivian did something unexpected.

She whisper to me “ Did you really think i wasn’t a waste of a human being?”

“Of course not! How could I ever think of you as a waste of a human being.” I answered.

She had a grateful look as she whisper “ Thank you, no one have ever defended or be nice to me before.”

“Want to have lunch together?” I asked.

“ I would love to.” She answered with a heartwarming smile.

As i said that, she froze and went red. Her face was blushing wildly as she tried to hide her face behind her book. However, how could she ever hide from me? With my divine sense, i could see everything.

I decided to stop teasing her for now and returned to my studies.

“Class dismissed.” the teacher said before he immediately left the class.

“ Hurry lets go get some seats before they are all gone!” I said as i dragged her towards her cafeteria.

When we arrived, we noticed that almost every table was taken.

“Damn, all the table are taken. You wanna go buy food and eat somewhere else?” I asked.

“Watch, i’ll show you a trick” she said as she walked towards a random table.

“Excuse me, may i sit here?” she asked the students sitting at the table.

“Yes,yes, aaa.. Just take the whole table, we were just about to leave.” one of the students said before taking their food trays and leaving.

“One of the good things about being dislike by everyone is that no one wants to sit with you.” Vivian said to me.

We sat down on the now empty table and ate our lunch.

“How did you really do the test?” She asked me.

“Secret” I replied sticking my tongue out.

“What classes do you take?” I asked her.

“I take enchanting,warding formation,magical artifact crafting,potioneering and study of ancient runes.” She said.

“Oh cool, that means i’m with you the whole day tmr, i took warding formation and magical artifact crafting too” I said.
