The Goblin Boss aimed its battleaxe at Vlad, swinging it down to destroy him on the spot. Vlad reacted, immediately leaping to the left as the axe clashed against the floor, sending shards of concrete everywhere. With its weapon embedded in the stone, the vampire rushed forward, slashing his spear at the Boss’s leg. He specifically aimed at one of its previous wounds since creating new lacerations wouldn’t benefit him.
Carving into a recently made wound, Vlad’s spear dug deeper into the leg, drawing more blood than before. The Boss jerked its leg back, letting out a loud groan as its calve started to profusely bleed, crimson liquid trailing down the wound.
The Goblin Goliath’s yellow eyes flashed menacingly while raising its weapon to strike down its attacker. When it did, though, Vlad simply jumped back, completely avoiding the weapon before jumping on the axe and then leaping toward the Boss’s head.
The Blood Hunter thrust his knee against the Boss’s face, smashing its nose like a grape. It staggered backward, its nostrils now bleeding like a faucet with blood dripping on the floor. If it weren’t for the fact that the blood was coming out of its nose, Vlad would’ve been tempted to drink it. Realizing the disgusting thought he just had, the vampire made a disturbed expression while shaking his head, ridding just grotesque notions.
Still clinging onto the Boss, Vlad moved over to the back of its neck, spear in hand. Once he got a good look at the wounds inflicted on the flesh, he gripped his spear tightly before thrusting it into one of the gashes. The head of his spear sunk deeply into the grievous wound, further harming the Boss.
The Goliath let out another painful roar, its hands reaching over for Vlad to pull him off its body. However, Vlad was prepared and swung his spear at the giant hands coming his way. Cutting both palms, the Boss pulled them back, angrily growling that the vampire was still latched onto him like some leech.
To further prove the concept, Vlad opened his mouth, revealing his fangs, and plunged them into the monster’s skin. Another agonizing roar could be heard from the Boss as Vlad started drinking its blood. Interestingly enough, he received a peculiar panel regarding the consumption of the Boss’s blood.
[Player has consumed the Blood of a Boss Monster! 200 BP has been obtained!]
[Skill [Hemophagia] has been activated! An additional 40 BP has been obtained!]
Two hundred Blood Points?! That was more than what he got from the blood of a player! What a nice treat~!
Distracted by the revelation of the Boss’s Blood, the Goliath managed to grab a hold of Vlad and slammed him against the floor. His body laid there still for a moment, fixed into the concrete floor, before he released a painful groan. Taking a breath, pain flared across his chest. All he did was inhale some air, and yet it felt like his chest was about to shatter at any second. From how painful that intake of oxygen was, he likely had a few broken ribs and possibly one or two collapsed lungs.
He hasn’t felt pain like this since his battle against the Cerberus. Though, somehow he was still able to move better than before. It must be because of his Vampiric Physiology. During the Trials, he only had the Physique of a Divine Hunter. Was it possible that a Vampire was stronger than a Divine Hunter?
Riddled with this question, Vlad’s sight panned over to the Boss who raised its foot above him. His eyes widened in surprise, realizing that he was about to get stomped to death. Slamming its foot down, Vlad used his remaining strength and will to raise his hands, pushing off against The Goliath’s foot.
His body was pressed against the floor deeper as his arms strained against the full force of the Goblin Boss’s stomp attack. He could hear his bones eerily creaking from the pressure placed on him. His limbs shook and rattled, threatening to give out at any moment. He wanted to use [Blood Dash] to move away, but he couldn’t in his current position.
If he didn’t do something quickly, he was fated to be turned into a vampire pancake on the cement floor. Thankfully, the cavalry soon arrived.
“Get off him!” Chloe shouted, leaping in the air and driving her fist into the Boss’s face.
The Goliath stumbled from the impact, moving its foot off of Vlad. The vampire let out a relieved sigh but hastily collected himself knowing the fight wasn’t over yet.
Struggling to pull himself up, he watched as Chloe delivered another devastating punch, striking the Goblin Boss’s stomach this time. The monster clutched its stomach, its body lurching over in pain. Lifting its head, its menacing yellow eyes glared at Chloe.
Instead of being intimidated, the brawler gave a fearless smile, pointing her fist at the Boss.
“There’s more where that came from, you giant bastard!” She taunted, making sure to keep the Boss occupied with her.
As she did, the Boss completely overlooked Vlad’s Gralls, and Arthur closed in on it with the chains. Once they got near its legs, the Gralls and Knight hastily looped the chain around them, restraining the Boss’s movements to complete the plan.
Even when the Goblin Goliath noticed what was happening when it lowered its head, it was too late anyway. Just before the monster could move and break the chains, Chloe lunged forward, charging up another powerful punch. This time, her fist radiated a powerful purple aura-like flame, as if her hand caught on fire.

Noticing Chloe, the Goblin Boss raised its axe to block her fist but was knocked away by one of Vlad’s Blood blades. Thanks to that, Chloe had nothing obstructing her and she drove her fist into the Goliath’s chest, pushing it back. Out of nowhere, multiple light bolts blurred toward the Boss, striking parts of its torso like its stomach and shoulders.
Looking back, Vlad saw Lucy firing her light bolts to further weaken the Boss, and it worked too. With the help of the chains, as the Gralls and Arthur tightened it around the Boss’s legs, the monster lost its balance and fell backward, crashing on the floor with a heavy thud.
Kicking up some dust, the Boss laid on the floor, unable to get up at least for the moment. Using this opportunity, Vlad pulled himself off, his chest still in pain, and used [Blood Dash] to blur toward his enemy.
Thanks to consuming some of the goblin boss’s blood, he could afford to waste a little BP before using the rest on his final attack. Teleporting on top of the Goblin Boss, he used his spear as a cane while struggling to stand. His legs felt like jelly after getting slammed on the floor. Still, he had a job to do and wasn’t going to let his plan fail after everything he and his friends had to endure.
Without wasting another second, he released his spear and with both hands, hurled multiple powerful Blood Blades at the Boss’s throat, all while letting out a powerful roar as he did this. The first blade barely scratched the surface, the second dug deeper, and the third went even further.
With each Blood Strike he fired, the wound on the Boss’s throat became more severe. Blood and flesh scattered all over with each slash made as if Vlad continued to tear through its neck like a rabid animal. He continued this for a short while until he finally stopped, completely depleting his BP as he used every last bit on the Boss.
Standing over the Goblin Boss, he witnessed the aftermath of his slaughter fest. Its throat was now nothing more than a gaping hole, completely shredded beyond recognition. There was barely any flesh and muscle left to the point where the head was barely attached to its shoulders thanks to a few strands of meat remaining.
As Vlad stood there, huffing and puffing after exhausting all of his energy to kill his foe, he felt a tinge of elation that this fight was finally over. And his friends were also just as happy.
“W-we did it!” Arthur cheered.
“Yeah, we did!” Chloe smiled.
“Thank goodness that it’s over…” Lucy sighed with relief.
Even Vlad’s remaining Gralls were elated regarding their victory, raising their weapons in the air and cheering at the blood hunter, their master who defeated their former leader. They looked so happy that they won that Vlad couldn’t help but crack a smile.
And yet, something felt off…
Even though they won…even though the Boss was finally dead, there was this slight ominous feeling dangling in the air. An almost foreboding premonition that the situation was over yet.
Vlad’s brows creased into a frown, knowing that something was up. His instincts were blaring throughout his body, warning him of imminent danger. But what?
Then it hit him. If this Boss was defeated and this Monster Nest was conquered…then how come he hadn’t received his rewards yet? Nervously, Vlad quickly glanced at the time, hoping that he was just being paranoid. But when the panel showed up…he witnessed the timer still…ticking down.

[4:29]
His eyes widened before he spun his head to face his friends, filled with fear and shock.
“Guys, the fight isn’t over yet!”
Hearing this, Chloe, Arthur, and Lucy stopped celebrating, immediately on high alert that their quest wasn’t completed yet. So did the Gralls as they wore stern expressions and readying their weapons for another battle.
Suddenly, Vlad felt goosebumps cover his entire body, a sign of some danger rapidly approaching him. Turning back to the Goblin Boss, he caught a glimpse of a pure bright yellow light emanating from its supposed corpse.
Seeing the light, he felt a sense of disgust and fear toward it. As if he needed to keep his distance or else he would be harmed.
More of the light started to coat the Goblin Boss’s body, practically blanketing it in its holy aura…wait, holy?
Vlad started to put the pieces together, but what sealed the deal was an ominous panel materializing before him. And it was from a familiar Faction…
[The Angel Faction has interfered with the Quest!]
[Difficulty Setting of Goblin Boss is being adjusted!]
[Protocol 27-1FQ is being initiated to stop Difficulty Interference!]
[Protocol 13-1FQ is being overridden due to Administrator Authority from the Angel Faction!]
[Boss Difficulty Setting Adjusted has been completed!]
[Designated Target “Goblin Boss” has been granted a Blessing by the Angel Faction!]
While fearfully reading the new messages, Vlad felt a rumble coming from the Goblin Boss. Looking down, he glanced at the gaping wound in its neck, watching in horror as it started to mend back together. Flesh, blood, and muscle were slowly reforming, as if time was being reversed.
Witnessing this first hand, Vlad's instincts told him to run, but before he could, he noticed the Boss’s arm move, only to shift his head to the right and see an incoming battleaxe bolting toward him.
The Blood Hunter leaped back to avoid the blade, but due to his exhaustion, he couldn’t escape as his entire stomach was cut open by the battleaxe. Blood spilled out of his wound while falling to the floor. His eyes glanced down at his wound, to see smoke emanating off it like it was a grill or something. Along with the smoke came a burning sensation as if his insides were on fire.
Behind him, he heard the chorus of cries coming from his friends and minions as they rushed to catch him. Chloe managed to catch him before he collided with the concrete. She held him tightly as the vampire continued to bleed out from his wound.
“V-Vlad…!” Chloe shouted, her face filled with fear and her eyes watering. “S-stay with me, alright!”
Arthur and Lucy hastily got to his side along with her, all of them looking concerned while nervously glancing at his gut wound.
They started to talk to him, but all Vlad heard was their muffled voices. Meanwhile, Vlad’s Gralls stood in front of the group, facing the Goblin Boss as it started to stand back up, its body now completely covered in the Holy light, emitting such radiance and purity that Vlad wanted to vomit.
While towering over the group, he quickly noticed that the wound on its neck was fully healed, as if Vlad didn’t waste all of his energy barraging its throat with blood blades like a Gatling gun.
While staring at the Goblin Boss, a new panel appeared, only making the situation worse.
[The Angel Faction will make you pay for defying them.]
Reading the ominous message, Vlad groaned. Well, this situation just went from bad to absolutely terrible.
