“Two days…I’ve been suffering through those trials for two fucking days?” Vlad furrowed his brows, livid at the reality check he just experienced. “It felt like only a couple of hours at best. Is there some kind of dimensional time difference or something?!”
Vlad was sitting down with his back against the check-out counter. It was the only place he could think of that could hide him while trying to assess his current situation. There was some blood on the floor, but Vlad just grabbed some paper towels and covered it before sitting down. While staring at the message panel from before, he palmed his face, unable to control his emotions after finding out the truth.
“Fuck…!” He swore, clenching his hands into a fist and punching the floor. “If I’ve been gone for two days, then who knows what could’ve happened, dammit! My friends and sister might be dead!”
A lot of things can occur in two days, especially during the apocalypse. For all Vlad knew, his family was likely dead, and he wasn’t there to save them. Just thinking about that, filled the vampire with a seething rage that showed no signs of leaving. It was only when Vlad took a couple of deep breaths that he finally managed to calm down and focus.
“No, they can’t be dead yet,” He assured himself. “Even if it’s the apocalypse, there’s still a chance that they’re still alive. I just need to find them, that’s all.”
He couldn’t give up on locating his family, not when he finally got back to Earth after everything he’s been through. He became a fucking vampire just to get back for crying out loud. Until he had proof that they were dead, he wasn’t going to stop now when he just started his search.
“Aside from my family,” He muttered, taking another glance at the message panel from before. “I’m more concerned about this Blood Moon Event.”
Because Vlad’s been gone for two days, that means he only has three more days until this Blood Moon Event begins. According to the panel, when the Blood Moon appears, all monsters will be enhanced and will start attacking player bases as if driven by their instincts. If he had to make a comparison, it was like those zombie games with a similar setting.
Thankfully, Vlad still had three days before that event started, so he had time. What he had time for, he still had to think about. Obviously, he should focus on finding his family, but aside from them, he also needed to level up as well. Now that he’s able to get EXP, he needed to make up for not being able to level up for those two days. And since there was going to be a horde of monsters attacking players, he had to get strong enough to deal with them when the time came.
Thankfully, there isn’t a shortage of monsters since this was the apocalypse, so he didn’t have much of an issue in getting XP. So for now, he should try and figure out where he can find his family. Were they all scattered around the city, or were they all together, waiting for him to regroup with them? Vlad lightly groaned, realizing how difficult this situation was going to be.
If his friends were at the college, then that would make things easier, but if their not, he would’ve wasted time going there. So, he needed to figure out where his friends and sister were before he could even attempt to go after them.

Before he could groan more regarding this situation, another panel appeared in front of him, once again scaring the life out of the vampire. Or maybe unlife?
[Side Quest – Find your family: You’re finally back on Earth and have been gone for two days! But never fear because your family is still here! They are located in different sections of the Atlanta City. Your goal is to find one or all of them before the First Blood Moon Event begins. Reward upon completion will be extra XP. ]
[Current Distance of Family:]
* Mina Stoker: 10 Miles
* Chloe Cribb: 4 Miles
* Lucy West: 4 Miles
* Arthur Wood: 4 Miles
Vlad’s eyebrows shot up at this sudden wave of information. Not only was the system telling him that his friends were still alive, but it also gave him a quest and clue as to where they were! Despite everything the system did when he was suffering through the trials, he was thankful that it was assisting him in this. Vlad sighed deeply with relief, ecstatic that his family wasn’t gone forever.
And according to the distance meter, all three of his friends were with one another, since they were all same miles away from Vlad. The only thing bothering him was his sister, who was practically twice as far as his friends. That concerned him a bit since that meant she was likely on the outskirts of the city. Aside from that, there was another problem that Vlad just noticed. Despite knowing the distance of his family, there wasn’t an arrow pointing him in their direction. This meant, that if he wanted to know if he was getting closer to his family, he literally had to play “hot and cold” to find them.
So, he had two goals; find his family and level up as much as he could. All before the blood moon event which happens in three days. Yeah, he should be able to do this. He would level up as much as he could while trying to locate his friends. He’d have to wait to find his sister a little later since he was a bit on the clock and also lost a bit of time thanks to those Fable Trials he had to go through. Still, he felt that he could get the job done, and was prepared to do what it took to get the job done.
Feeling determined, Vlad pulled himself off the floor and vaulted over the counter. Landing on his feet, he hunched over in slight pain as his stomach started to grumble once again. It writhed and bellowed within him, practically ordering him to feed right now. And it wasn’t for food or drinks…it was for blood.
“Ah, right…there was also this problem as well…” Vlad grimaced before bringing up his status window.

“Looks like my Blood Points is…getting frighteningly low,” He muttered, his face paled at his bar.
Right, before Vlad could focus on leveling up or even finding his family…he needed to understand his vampire physiology at the moment. Otherwise, he feared that he might lose control and eat someone out of instinct, much like when he first became one.
So, that made three goals at the moment. Find his family, get strong for the blood moon event, and get used to his vampirism to where he didn't lose himself to his instincts and accidentally kill someone in a blood frenzy.
Yeah…this apocalypse was going to be a ride for Vlad. Quite a ride, indeed.
