Vlad stealthily roamed the streets of the city by maneuvering around destroyed cars that were bundled together, making sure there were no enemies before he moved forward. His steps were a bit loud due to him stepping on the occasional broken shards of glass. Still, he did his best to remain quiet and avoid getting found. Since this time, it was his turn to do the hunting.
While carefully strolling through the streets, he immediately stopped walking, his ears picking up the sounds of monsters nearby. He pressed his back against a flipped-over car while slowly peeking his head over it, attempting to locate the monsters he heard. Once he did, he then spotted maybe four or five goblins across the street from him. To avoid the goblins from noticing him, he lowered his head back and stayed hidden behind the car.
Taking a deep breath, he activated his other skill, [Blood Sense]. Just like how he activated [Blood Strike], Vlad concentrated on the energy he felt from within. The warm power from before pulsed to life once more before flowing over to his senses, enhancing them in an instant.
When Vlad opened his eyes, his vision changed to an all-red spectrum. Whether it was the wall, the ground, or even the sky and fire, they were all a type of crimson color. Suddenly, Vlad’s ears started picking up multiple heartbeats, and they were all in the same direction as those goblins. Shifting his attention back to those monsters, he witnessed five silhouettes shaded a brighter red that made it easier to locate them. Not only were their bodies shaded a much lighter color, but he saw red lines coursing through their body along with a heart-shaped figure centered around their chest cavity.
Vlad quickly realized that what he was seeing was their blood vessels and hearts. Not only that but as he heard their hearts pounding in their chest, he could also get the faint sound of blood flowing through their veins. He felt mesmerized by the sound as a strong urge swelled up in his body, telling him to lunge at the monsters. He wanted to charge at those goblins and devour them whole. He wanted to drink their blood until nothing was left and they were nothing more than a dried-up husk.
Vlad’s head shook violently, his animalistic thoughts evaporating as he did. “Tch! This instinct is a lot harder to control than I thought.”
Once again, Vlad was almost compelled to follow his vampiric instincts. They’ve been getting stronger as time passed by along with his Blood Points decreasing by the minute. Thankfully, he had five meals before him to feast on. Vlad was worried about his hesitation to drink blood, but considering how his instincts were overwhelming him, all he had to do was let loose a little and it’d do the rest for him.
Once Vlad confirmed the five monsters’ location, he then activated [Stealth] to get closer to them. Suddenly, he could feel his presence become more hidden. It wasn’t by much, but it was still better than going over to them without the skill. With the help of [Stealth], the vampire lightly moved toward the goblins, staying hidden behind cars or anything else big enough to keep him out of sight.
As he got closer, his ears started to hear the green menaces’ voices, though all he heard were grunts and incomprehensible voices as if they were gibberish. Part of Vlad wished that there was some kind of [Language Comprehension] skill to allow him to understand these guys. Then he instantly rejected the idea after realizing that it would make it more difficult to kill them. Just the thought of hearing them actually beg for their lives would make Vlad hesitate, and he couldn’t afford to do that.
Vlad stopped in his tracks, noticing that he was very close to the goblins now. He was hiding behind some fallen debris from a building. He peeked over the side to get a better look at the creatures, all of them still unaware of his presence. After a little while, their status window soon showed up, allowing Vlad to see their levels.

[Gobin – Level 3]

[Goblin – Level 2]
Vlad smiled, relieved that they were all still relatively weak. Although Vlad was still level one, that didn’t mean confronting these monsters was going to be an issue for him. Hell, he was confident that he could even take on the level three goblin with ease. Compared to Cerberus or those Ethereal Hunters, this was a piece of cake.
The vampire pondered if he should use [Blood Strike] to take them by surprise, though he feared that he might instantly kill his enemies, pretty much ruining his meal. That was when his eyes trained on the goblins’ legs. They were all grouped together pretty closely. If Vlad aimed correctly, he could sever all of their limbs in a split second, making it easy pickings for him to feast on.

He quickly crouched down before leaning against the edge of the boulder. His hand was raised and positioned to where he could slash at the monster. He felt the warm energy surge toward his arm as his palm started to heat up. And with a single motion, he slashed at the goblins, sending a condensed blade of blood soaring their way.
For a split second, one of the goblins noticed the blood blade coming their way, its eyes widened with shock. But before it could warn its brethren, the blade swiftly hit their targets, slicing their legs with relative ease. All five goblins collapsed to the ground, groaning and wailing in pain.
“Yes!” Vlad pumped his fist in excitement.
He then hastily rushed toward the fallen monsters, his desire for their blood growing stronger than before. Once he got to them, he looked down at their bodies, watching them struggle to get away from him. One of them even looked up at the vampire, their eyes widened with horror, which only made Vlad smile with glee.
“Thanks for the feast, fellas…” Vlad stated while picking up one of the monsters.
While dangling in the air, the newly born vampire stared at its neck, almost hypnotized by it. He could feel his hunger for blood get stronger the more he looked at it. His senses enhanced instinctively, allowing him to hear the goblin’s heart pound and blood rushing through its veins. It was causing him to salivate profusely.
Then, by instinct, Vlad opened his mouth, revealing his fangs before plunging them into the goblin’s neck, piercing the skin instantly and allowing its blood to flow into his mouth. He got the sweet taste of blood once more and savagely gulped it down like a man dying from thirst. The goblin struggled to break free, clawing at Vlad’s arms and even kicking his torso, but he barely noticed it while his attention was completely focused on the taste of its blood.
It didn’t take long before the goblin seized moving, its arms and legs going limp. Then Vlad got a kill message from the system.
[Goblin has been defeated! 45 XP has been received!]
[Blood Has been Consumed! 5 Blood Points has been obtained!]
[You have leveled up! You are now Level 2!]
[You have obtained 5 SP!]
Oh, he got a level up, huh? And managed to get some stat points as well. That’ll be useful. While staring at the message panels, Vlad dropped the goblin as it plopped to the ground with a heavy thud. Looking away from the dead goblin, he turned his sights on the living one that laid there in terror after witnessing one of their own get killed and devoured.
As the remaining goblins were stricken with fear, Vlad slowly approached them with a sinister grin. His shadow from the light of the flames loomed over them, shrouding the monsters in darkness as the vampire made his move on them.
And so, the vampire enjoyed his first conscious feast.

[Goblin has been defeated! 45 XP has been received!]
[Goblin has been defeated! 90 XP has been received!]
[Blood has been consumed! 25 Blood Points has been obtained!]
A few minutes passed by and Vlad was finally done feasting on the goblins. Just as he pulled away from the last one, his face made a satisfied expression, displaying his fulfillment. However, although he felt satisfied, he was still slightly hungry, though it wasn’t as bad as before.
Dumping the body, Vlad moved away before glancing at his status window.

Vlad’s brows furrowed as he glanced at his blood points. Not only were his blood points not in the hundred, but the amount also increased, possibly because of his level-up. Vlad then remembered that he used his skills to take down the goblins, which depleted his blood points more.
So, despite having a feast…it was obvious that he was far from satisfied. As if on cue, the vampire’s stomach rumbled once more, churning his insides while demanding more blood to consume. Vlad clutched his stomach and frowned, annoyed by his somewhat insatiable appetite.
“Being a vampire sucks…” He groaned. “Feeding on low-level monsters isn’t working. I need stronger enemies to eat.”
It was clear that consuming higher-level monsters gave Vlad more Blood points. The problem was that by going after stronger enemies, the difficulty of defeating and eating them would get higher as well. Sadly, if he wanted to get rid of this damnable hunger…he was left with no other option.
Just then, Vlad’s senses alerted him of nearby creatures. He then whipped his head around seeing more goblins making an appearance. They emerged from around a corner before spotting him instantly. They raised their weapons while getting into fighting positions while glaring in Vlad’s direction. When their eyes shifted toward their dead brethren lying around his feet, their eyes glowered at him more as they became furious at the deaths of their fellow goblins.
Vlad stared at them for a moment with a raised eyebrow, contemplating whether they were worth a meal. His stomach then chimed in, grumbling loudly to inform him that these monsters were, in fact, worth the meal. With a heavy sigh, Vlad pulled out his spear and slowly approached the goblins.
“You lot better be enough to satisfy me. I’m too hungry for your struggling right now…”
The goblins trembled as he approached them, but with a determined glare, the monsters screeched at Vlad and charged at them, their desire to avenge the dead goblins guiding them to kill the vampire. Only for their lives to be handed to him on a silver platter.
