Vlad ripped through the horde like a storm of brutality and bloodlust. With each goblin he came across, he slaughtered it without batting an eye and drank its blood. Instead of using his spear in combat, he used his claws while cutting down every monster in his path. There wasn’t a single thought in his mind, except killing his enemies. Anything else…was pointless.
Finding his friends and family? Protecting their lives and making it through the apocalypse? None of that mattered to him now. Why should he bother protecting the weak? Why should he burden himself with such nonsense? If the weak die, then they die. Why should he blame himself for their weakness?
The weak die and the strong survive. That is how the world works. And since this is the apocalypse, that philosophy held even more validity than before. To survive the apocalypse, the only thing that mattered was getting stronger. Stronger than anything to the point where nothing stood in your way. Petty things like morality and having a conscience were useless when the primary thing you must do is survive. If anything, it was only a hindrance. A pointless burden that would only drag you to an early grave.
All that Vlad needed to focus on…was slaughtering his enemies and indulging in the bloodshed.
“Come at me!” He roared, his face covered in blood along with the rest of his body. In his right hand was a goblin, struggling to break free, but it was powerless against the newly born vampire.
A moment later, he grabbed the monster by the throat and tore into its neck, drawing blood before ripping its throat out with his teeth. The goblin choked on its blood as Vlad released it, its body falling to the ground like a sack of potatoes.
And so, the vampire continued his bloodshed. He killed and killed, massacring any living being he saw. It didn’t matter if there were dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of the little gremlin monsters surrounding him. The more of them were…the better.
The only thing that could be heard within the massive chamber was the distant, anguish cries of the goblins, and the vicious roaring of the newly born vampire as he delivered carnage and bloodshed to all his enemies.

Vlad gasped, his eyes shot open as he laid on the stone ground. While straightening up, he let out a groan and slightly massaged his muscles because they felt a bit tense. However, before he could continue, he glanced at his hands and body, realizing he was covered in a viscous red substance. The moment he got the scent of iron, he quickly understood that he was coated in blood.
“W-what the…” He frantically patted his body down, seeing that his entire body was covered in the substance. But just before he could freak out, he became aware of his surroundings and was confronted with a horrific sight that could only come from some kind of horror movie.
Sprawled out all over the ground were countless goblin corpses along with their blood and entrails blanketing the stone in a deep red color. The smell of iron overwhelmed Vlad’s nostrils, forcing him to cover it out of reflex. All the while, he looked around in stark terror at the gruesome massacre displayed before him.
His eyes widened with shock and his mind raced, trying to figure out what the hell happened and how did he end up in this situation. Then he remembered. Like getting hit by an oncoming train, his mind was flooded with memories, memories that instantly told the story of how all of this happened.
He remembered everything. The basin, the goblins, his battle against the monsters, how he almost died, and…his sudden metamorphosis. The messages that told him that he completed his task. The sudden stream of messages about his vampirism. All of it came back to him. Including how as soon as he turned into a vampire, he then viciously and sadistically slaughtered the goblins, creating the scene before him now.
Vlad shifted to his knees, a wave of nausea washing over him along with confusion and fear racking around his brain. His breathing became irregular as he occasionally gagged after remembering what he did to those goblins. He remembered ripping their throats out with his teeth and the power and rush of joy he felt from doing it before draining them of their blood. The sweet and delectable taste was still painfully vivid in his mind that he feared he could never forget it, and scarily enough, part of him seemed that it didn’t want to.
It took him a few minutes to calm down and process the events that transpired today. Once his mind was more or less collected and cool, he pulled himself off the ground and calmly wobbled over to the basin and statue. The moment he got there, he peered down at the crimson liquid still flowing in the tub before plopping his butt on the edge.
While still looking at the pool of blood along with his reflection, he placed his hand in his mouth, pulling back his lips to reveal sharpened canines. With a gasp, he moved his hand away, his fangs concealed by his lips once more.
The canines were one thing…but there was another way to confirm if his metamorphosis was, in fact, a reality. Which was checking out his Race. If it was still human, then he was in the clear. But, if it wasn’t…and it was what he feared, Vlad didn’t know what he would do.
“Okay…” He took a deep breath while collecting his thoughts. “Let’s just see how bad things are. Open status…”
To confirm that what happened to Vlad was true, and he wasn’t losing his mind, he opened up his status to check it out. Only for him to grimace at the facts to be shoved right in his face.

Vlad blankly stared at his new stats information, his eyes especially trained on the species part, noticing that it was different than before. Instead of being human…he was now a vampire. Which meant everything he remembered wasn’t just some fever dream. It was his horrific new reality.
He buried his face with his hands, holding back the urge to cry. Why in the world did this happen to him? Why did he become a vampire? Wasn’t he just supposed to complete these stupid trials and be done with it? How did it turn out like this?
Not only that but his previous skills from before were gone as well. Just when he was about to question what happened to them, he remembered some of the message panels that flooded his vision said something about his skills being integrated. And before that, his Divine Hunter’s blessing was being corrupted because he consumed blood.
This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
But why would something like that happen? Was this planned? And if so, why was Vlad suffering through this? Wasn’t he supposed to just go through the simulation and get his class? Why did he have to get turned into a vampire in the process?!
“Speaking of which…” Vlad spoke up, his tone being filled with anger. “Where the hell is my class selection event already?!”
As if responding to his demand, a panel materialized right before him, displaying the very thing he wanted.
[Player has access to the [Vampiric Legacy Classes] pack. Please select a class from this pack before being redirected back to Earth via the Bifrost Transit System.]
Vlad tilted his head, confusion plastered all over his face as he read this. “[Vampiric Legacy Classes]? What the hell are those?”
As if responding to his remark, the message panel changed in an instant, showing him more information regarding his question.
[The [Vampiric Legacy Classes] pack is a special pack that contains unique classes for players that have received [???] Legacy.]
Vlad frowned. There it was again. Those damn question marks. He understood what these Unique Classes were, but what he really wanted to know was what the hell was this Legacy that gave him the Unique Classes.
“Whatever or whoever this [???] is, they obviously have something to do with vampires. Between my race change and this [Vampiric Legacy Classes] pack, this person was related to them. But what was the connection?”
Maybe it was some Vampire noble or something? But why would Vlad receive their legacy? And what exactly was their legacy?
Speaking of the Legacy, it was about time to see what his Unique Classes were. Vlad didn’t endure all that hell from the Fable Trials just to not finally get his class.
“Show me the [Vampiric Legacy Classes].” Seeing no other option, Vlad decided to check out what this pack had in store for him.
That is when he was given another panel that displayed his current class options:
Current Unique Classes Available:
* [Blood Hunter]
* [Blood Mage]
* [Crimson Druid]
* [Night Rogue]
* [Blood Knight]
* [Vampiric Necromancer]
Vlad marveled at his choices, curious about which one he should choose. They were all clearly vampiric-related since the keywords used were either “Blood”, “Crimson”, “Night”, or “Vampiric”. Still, Vlad wasn’t sure which class he should choose.
“Is there a way I can get more information on the classes…oh?” Vlad mused over the description of the Unique Classes before being shown a new panel that gave him just that.
[Blood Hunter (Class): A blood hunter is a warrior who focuses on close-quarters and ranged attacks while also using the magical art of blood, further aiding them on their hunts for dangerous monsters. Their primary goal is to hunt and kill. They are warriors who live for the hunt and thrive in the blood, for that is all they know. This class also provides a +5 attribute boost for all attributes.
Skills:
[Blood Sense] (F)
[Blood Strike] (F)
[Stealth] (F)
[Blood Mage (Class): A blood mage is a magic user that uses cast blood spells and is complete range attack-oriented. These types of mages walk the path of the art of Blood. Their primary goal is learning the origin of Blood Magic and finding a way to harness the power that was first created and used by [???]. This class provides a +4 attribute boost for Magic and Soul.
Skills:
[Blood Bolt] (F)
[Crimson Binding] (F)
[Blood Drain] (F)
[Crimson Druid (Class): A crimson druid walks the path of spirituality, nature, and blood, becoming the very essence of all three. Although uncommon, Crimson Druids are extremely powerful due to their high affinity with Nature and Blood. Because both affinities are connected to the very thing that creates; Life. To walk down the path of a Crimson Druid, you are also walking down the path to manipulate Life itself. This class provides +4 attribute boost for Magic Power and Senses, and +1 attribute boost for Strength, Endurance, and Agility.
Skills:
[Bloody Vines] (F)
[Nature Sight] (F)
[Blood Strike] (F)
[Night Rogue (Class): A night rogue is a vampire rogue that focuses on stealth and sneak attacks while avoiding direct conflict. Thanks to their vampiric physiology, they are practically one with the darkness, allowing them to traverse through the shadows with ease, making them incredibly difficult to locate. This class provides a +4 attribute boost in Senses and Agility, and +1 Attribute boost for Endurance.
Skills:
[Stealth] (F)
[Paralytic Fangs] (F)
[Fierce Strike] (F)
[Blood Knight (Class): A blood knight is a warrior who walks down the path of blood and glory. They bear no sense of honor and only wish to kill their enemies in a bloodbath. They are usually psychopathic or sociopathic monsters that would use any excuse to kill people. Their class provides a +4 Attribute boost in Strength and Endurance, and +1 Attribute boost in Agility.
Skills:
[Parry] (F)
[Blood Aura] (F)
[Induce Bleeding] (F)
[Vampiric Necromancer (Class): A vampiric necromancer is pretty much just what the name says; vampire necromancer. They conjure up the dead and focus on dark magic to support themselves. Due to their high affinity with Death thanks to their racial quirk, they can create stronger and better undeads compared to normal necromancers. This class provides a +4 Attribute Boost to Magic and Soul. The class also provides five slots for minion summons.
Skills:
[Necro Bolt] (F)
[Necro Aura] (F)
[Life Drain] (F)
“Hmm,” Vlad mused, stroking his chin while staring at his options.
Most of his choices were very enticing, except for maybe Vampiric Necromancer and Night Rogue. Although Vlad thought summoning skeletons was cool, his other options had more appeal to them. As for the Night Rogue class, although he liked stealth, he didn’t like the idea of avoiding confrontation. If anything, his time in these trials showed that he was far more suited for close quarters.
This is why he felt drawn to the Blood Knight class. Thanks to his recent experience after becoming a vampire, he got the taste for bloodshed and carnage, and this class seemed right up his alley. However, another class caught his eyes even more than the Blood Knight.
And that was the Blood Hunter class. Not only were all of his attribute stats increased by 5, but aside from the Blood Knight Class, Vlad was even more drawn to this class. There was something about it that compelled the young vampire to choose it. As if it was instinct.
Vlad continued to stare at the Blood Hunter class for a few more moments before finally making his decision.
“I choose the Blood Hunter Class,” He declared, his voice firm and determined.

As soon as Vlad chose the class, his torn and worn-out clothes were soon replaced with light leather armor. The leather was coated light brown and red, and his armor bore extra protection through the use of metal shoulder pads, and knee and elbow pads. The armor didn’t come with a cloak, so he didn't have anything to conceal himself aside from his skill [Stealth]. Though, he pushed that issue aside for now, since he figured he could get one later and was simply thankful to have better clothes than his previous ones.
A spear soon manifested in his hands. Before putting it away, he made sure to check if the weapon was balanced and good enough for him to use in a fight. He twirled it around and performed a couple of thrust and slash attacks before feeling satisfied. Once he put his spear away, another panel appeared.
[You have chosen your class. The Class Selection Event will now end. You will now be sent back to your world through the Bifrost Transit System.]
As soon as he finished reading the message, his body started to disperse into white particles like before. But, Vlad barely noticed as he realized he was finally done with the trials. And with them done, he could finally go home and get to his friends and sister.
The vampire closed his eyes with a slight smile on his face. “Don’t worry, guys. I’ll get to you soon. I promise.”
Although he still had to come to terms with his vampiric change, he couldn’t forget why he endured so much of this hell. He needed to get back to Earth and find his friends and family. And that’s what he planned to do.
His vision was soon filled with a white light as he was being redirected back to his world. Though, when he did return, he was in for quite a sight…
