I awoke to a heavy feeling so I looked down. It seems the kits wanted some cuddle action so there were bodies everywhere. I love this feeling so I just layed there and enjoyed the moment. I started to stir and try to get up to a chorus of grunts and complaints.
I returned to see everyone sitting up and yawning. I collected kisses and hugs to fill my tank for the day. At breakfast we all just let the kits talk. They brought us up to speed with their mission and they referred to B like a beloved uncle, it was cute.
We let them go on and on about their maneuvers, they were so excited. They still talk as a group and they seem to have no leader, they just seem to know what the others are doing.
I looked at their ribbons and they were flowing from me on the ground to them but the ones between them were solid and strong. We were finishing breakfast and the kits let us know they are grounded until their next sleep cycle, they weren't happy about the grounding but they understood.
I started to clean up so Lisa and Cora took over and told me they would finish. I went to my office and Vickey appeared "so what is the damage" I kidded and she smiled. "We have had requests from all over the planet about the recycling tech. We need to set a price, let's bring Sara in on this conversation". Sara appeared "good morning sir, I would suggest one thousand a day per unit. The sale of the materials recovered will pay for that easily and we get half as feedstock. We can set up businesses for people to service towns that don't need full time recyclers".
I smiled "I could have used these numbers last night". They both looked at me and Sara spoke up "that's for my interview sir". She smirked and it looked good on her.
"What is going on with people who want jobs at the park?" She smiled again "yes captain there are many enquiring about employment at the park". My turn to smile "find positions that they will like, it's a lot better than sitting around all day".
"One more question sir, is it ok if I house them at the park. I have staff accommodations set up". I looked at her "absolutely if they want it, if not I will make sure there is transport". She got an odd grin "I bet they move" she giggled "I have rides" she laughed out loud and I joined her.
"What kind of jobs are they looking for?"
"They are looking at everything from cleaners to office staff. I will match people to jobs they want". My turn to smile "things are falling into place here". They both nodded as I got up and went to check on my mates.
I heard Jaden's voice, she was telling my girls about the morning sickness and the cravings she had with her kids. They let her know that the kits had a sleep cycle soon so watch Autumn. They also let her know that the kits are grounded until it's over and Jaden started to laugh. "There is safety dad" I smirked "it wasn't me it was B, that is his show".
"So everything is alright with my new siblings?" The girls nodded and explained what happened with the crystal. "Oh that's a relief I couldn't get a hold of you for 2 days and we were worried". I looked at her "you could have called me". She looked at me "dad you have too much on your plate to be a go between". I took that as a valid answer.
"When are you going to take a trip to the park?" She tilted her head "I didn't think about it actually".
"Well get your butt in gear, gather all the people you want to bring and call Vicky to arrange transport, Make a weekend of it. I want you to meet Sara" I heard yells in the background and knew the girls were listening. "You already have quarters there permanently". That got me more yells "ok dad I will gather people together this weekend and come check it out". "Thank you Jaden" and we ended the call.
Cora looked at me "your calls to her are always so short, you never just talk". I slouched my shoulders "we just don't have that kind of relationship".

"That's a shame" they said in unison and came in for a hug. They knew that was a sore spot for me and they did their best to comfort me.
"I forgot to ask about Carla". They hugged me tight "all is well with her, the girls have bonded and they don't want her to go" Lisa said. "She was due to come back but our little episode delayed that. She said she will wait till we are feeling better" Cora added. "We have mom and dad as backup as well" Lisa smiled. I have to agree with her and I felt better thinking about it. I hugged them close "thank you". They pulled back to look at me "for giving me a family". That got wide smiles and they hugged me tighter.
Almost right on cue the replicator went off with my wives pills. "At least I know the nanobots have timing" I giggled. We got a snack and ate and talked for a while.
I got to my office and turned on the news. It's weird seeing your face on every channel. They were all talking about the Pegasus network and the recycling tech. They referred to every line I said on the air.
One channel was debating if I was the person behind the avatar or an imposter.
"Vicky, is this debate a common one on the air right now?" She nodded "that seems to be the big topic of the day". I smiled an evil grin "could you find me a live one?" She got a questioning look then looked away for a second.
"Global News in Edmonton is just starting a live call in show. What are you thinking?" I looked at her "if they want proof I will give it to them. Dispatch a drone to the studio and could you get me the number to call please". She shook her head and smiled. "The number is in your comms" I looked down as the number appeared so I pushed the dial button.
"Global news, how May I direct your call"
"good morning you have a call in show going on and I think I have some valuable insights".
"You and 50 others, I will put you in the cue". All I heard was a click then music. I looked at Vickey and she just laughed.
I was just about to say something when someone cut in on the line".
"Hello I'm screening the calls for the show. Who am I talking to?"
"The name that people gave me is the captain" I heard silence. "Sir this isn't funny we are trying to put up on a good show without cooks".
"Miss I have a drone just outside if that helps". More silence "are you willing to come on the show?" She sounded excited.
"Yes I am, if someone wants to open the back door and let me in I can be there in holographic form". I booted up my VR and took over the drone and put myself outside the door.
A woman with a headset showed up with wide eyes "it's a pleasure to meet you captain come this way". She turned and I followed her into the building and down a few hallways ending at the studio. She whispered something to the man in charge. As soon as he saw me he started talking into his headset to the guests. I guess you can't see because of the lights, his eyes shot open and he started to look around.
"It seems we have an unexpected guest to the show today". The woman beside me pointed to the chair so I proceeded there and sat. They looked at me "good afternoon gentlemen it seems you have questions I may be able to answer". One of them looked at his partner then to me "thank you for coming captain, out of curiosity where are you right now if this is a hologram?" I smiled "I'm on the moon right now controlling this drone". I made the drone decloak so they could see it.
"How are you transferring that much data?" The second one asked. "This is the new network I'm releasing". He nodded then kind of snapped to, then got to it. Over the next 20 minutes they came up with a lot of good questions and I answered them all. I referred to the website a lot and told them Sara's interview is coming soon. I thought I would throw them a bone and told them I grew up on the east coast.
We ended the interview on a light note and I shut down my VR, that got me a coffee and 2 kisses. "I hope that changes a few minds". They nodded as we left my office and I looked at the table. They had finger foods from all over the world covering the entire top.
"Trying new things?" I asked and grabbed a fry. "We weren't sure what we wanted so Vickey was trying to help," Cora said as she bit into something fried. "Well hopefully you found it". Lisa huffed "there is too much of a selection now". I laughed and got food thrown at me as my comms went off.
It was Becky "what did you do". I started to explain and she cut me off. "Do it some more" was her only instruction to me with a laugh.
"Ok" I ended the call and looked at the girls. "I have homework to do". After I explained what homework was I went back to my office where Vickey found 3 more broadcasts all over the world that we crashed and squashed some naysayers. I was wiped when I was done so I joined my mates in bed.
