I awoke to a feeling I was getting used to. One big kitty and 6 little ones littered my body. I hugged Lisa a little tighter and got rewarded with a purr. Yup I'm happy here, at least till I have to pee. I rolled towards Lisa, deposited the kits on her then made my escape.

I returned to find Lisa had claimed my warm spot and the kits were sitting and yawning. I snuck in for a nose lick and she clung to me and dragged me down. "One last cuddle" I heard in my ear. Who can say no to that and I gave in. The kits just sat on my chest and were staring at me. They realized what was happening and curled up purring.

Ok 30 min later we got vertical and on with the day. Checking in with Jaden her crew were happy after the medbeds. I let her know I would be down in a bit and went for a coffee and delivered kits to their parents. Kim and Gar were cuddling on the couch talking and I imagined Lisa and I like that and I smiled.

Lexi's dad was sitting in Jaden's quarters looking bored while the girls were at the clothes replicator trying on whatever tickles their fancy. I looked at him and said "it gets no better when you are older" I laughed. He just shrugged his shoulders in mock defeat.

"Good morning dad" I heard over my shoulder. "You know Vicky can make some luggage for you" I saw a bunch of female faces. "You're ok with that". I nodded and got murmuring with a few little screams. Oh god what have I done I thought to myself but that did get me kisses from my granddaughters. "Don't forget you're going to have one of these at home". Wide eyes "seriously" said Lexi, I nodded. They were off like a shot.

Vickey saved me with a request for more testing so I beat feet and got out of there.

I made my way to the gym and spent the next 2 hours getting beaten up by Vicky. I was pushing myself to my limits when I called enough. Vicky huffed "fine but I want a scan before you shower". I nodded "how long".

"I need an hour for this one". I layed down and the bed put me to sleep.

Waking up I saw Jaden with Autumn "she wanted to lay with you but you stink dad". I giggled "fair enough" I got up and got in the refresher. "Anything new with the scans Vickey". "Your strength and control over the nanobots have gone up by 9%. You're now up to 360 years as a lifespan. I'm installing a medbed in your bedroom to do regular scans to keep an eye on you".

"Probably a good idea".

I got out of the refresher and now that I was defunked Autumn came to me. I will never tire of hearing her call me papa.

We met the others in the zero g playroom. I didn't even make it to the door and I could hear squeals of laughter and a few screams. I entered and saw everyone there, even the kits. I stood and watched the kits use adults as launching pads. Every time they launched themselves they would leave the people spinning out of control.

I decided to join in and jumped with Autumn in my arms. I kept her close but let her feel zero g, She smiled and held on to me. I think her insides decided she wasn't having fun and she got sick. I had a drone come get me and luckily it all hit me so it didn't float in the air. I took her to the refresher in the gym, "mabey mom should try that next time". She was wiggling her fingers when the tingling started and that seems to cheer her up after getting sick.

I went back and asked an open question "any plans today?" Jessica spoke up "sightseeing on the moon then heading home". I smiled "cool I got the place to myself" I giggled and got eye rolls.

I bid my guests farewell and made my way to my office. Sitting at my desk I looked at Vicky "is there anything I need to address?" She nodded "we need to address where to reveal the search and rescue packages". "Yea I've been thinking about that and I'm not sure how big to go". She looked at me "can I suggest a tornado, it's small, localized and controllable. Great for a trial run and we won't have to wait long. I'm tracking 4 storms right now over the US and Brazil".

"Ok I'm going to take a nap in my new bed, I'm guessing it's going to be a busy night". With that I went to my bedroom and discovered my bed has changed to a large 4 poster bed with scanners in the corners. I layed down and found it was softer than my old one. This will be comfortable with kids, where the hell did that come from.

It was odd waking up alone, instead it was Vickey yelling at me. "I'm up, I'm up. What's going on?". She stood with her hands on her hips "there was an F4 that hit a small town 12 minutes ago and we can help. Get your ass in gear. I jumped out of bed as she continued "ships are launching ETA 23 minutes". I got to my office and got a drink "I'm going in my avatar so get ready to be the face for a while". I know she has got this and she will have my back.

We circled the town and surveyed the damage, that tornado was on the ground for 4 min and downtown was smashed. We found the hospital and I deployed a few drones to clear the parking lot of debris and move the cars to make room.

I booted up my VR and took control of my bot, exited the ship and walked to the ER entrance. I opened the door to a few screams then walked to the counter and stopped a few feet shy and projected Vickie in front of me.

"Good evening, could I talk to the main person in charge?" she said in a calm, clear voice. "That would be me" a nurse said and came forward and I saw the RN on her tag. Vickey smiled "we are here to help in any way we can. First of all this facility has no power, may we tie into the generator to rectify that". She blinked "um yea". She looked half scared and half intrigued.

"My name is Vickey, how May I address you" she smiled. "Sandy," she said in a calm voice. That's when the power came on "that's better" Vicky said. "Now we can start helping people" Vickey was jumping and clapping. "Sandy, are you in radio contact with all emergency services".

"Yes we are" she shot back. "If you could call all of them and have them converge on the hospital. If they need search and rescue we need to know where". She started issuing orders to a guy who was by radios mounted on the wall. All this time there were at least a dozen people taking video of me and Vicky and that's exactly what we want.

"Sandy is there anybody critically hurt right now" she snapped together "bed 2 and 3 are from a car crash, we were waiting on power to operate". Vickey sent 2 bots to collect the patients, they took them bed and all to the ship. "Sandy, we can help them better than you can will someone accompany us to witness it?"

"Oh I'm not missing this" she barked orders to 5 people and went into RN mode for a minute. Vickey waited till she was done "shall we" and started to walk so I followed. We exited the ER and found one of the 3 ramps open and I could see the robot using a tractor beam to move the patient.

I felt like a walking camera for Vickie at this point but it was fun. The parents looked almost scared of me but the children had no problem walking up and touching me. One brave little girl took my hand and smiled "are you here to help" I nodded.

We went to the 2 patients and looked at the scans that popped up instantly. I hear a whispered "what the fuck" as she reached out to touch the display. When it reacted to her touch she pulled her hand away. Vicky jumped in right away "he is your patient, please continue".

Sandy nodded and reached out and touched the left wrist. She fumbled for a sec but she managed to enlarge it. She gasped and looked at Vicky "he broke that wrist when he was 16. This is real". I had to giggle at that one.

Now getting giggled at by a robot I guess isn't cool because I got a dirty look from Sandy. "Remember you wanted to be the tin man" Vicky giggled in my ear.

"Well it's showtime" Vicky initiated the nanobots and we watched them flow over the 2. "The nanobots will heal them and even the bone scar will be gone". The display came up as 37 minutes and the second patient was 26, Sandy saw this. "Am I reading this right, those are the times to heal them" Vicky and I nodded "they won't require physiotherapy short of a good walk". She looked like she was going to fall down so I grabbed a chair for her. She didn't sit but she leaned on it "I just watched my career dissolve".

Vickey jumped in "not at all these bots are meant to be replaced by nurses and doctors, we are bringing you the tech to do your job better." She smiled at that.

I noticed a few people coming in to investigate and they were greeted by the bots. Then in walked the sheriff and a deputy, they came straight towards Vicky.

"Good evening missus, is it you I speak to about all of this?" Vicky smiled "yes I am sir, is it possible to get all the higher ups so we don't have to repeat ourselves". The sheriff nodded and left to get someone, the deputy looked at Vickey "he is gone to get the mayor, he is in the hospital".

"Could we get the fire department as well please" Vicky asked and he went for his radio. That's when the first drone reported a collapsed building had life signs. Vickey got the report the same time as I did and she looked at me "you need to go sir". I nodded and left as a drone took over Vicky's hologram. I got the location as I got outside, 3 blocks away.

I took off running and jumped over debris on the road. Within minutes I was in front of what looked like an old hotel that has seen better days, especially today. The life signs were strong so I took my time digging into the pile. My heads up display shows the beams with the least stress so I knew what ones to grab. Trying not to shift anything the scans showed me he was in a bathtub so I could get a little more aggressive at the end. The final object in my way was a flat section of the floor above and was cracked in a way that I couldn't just lift it. I reconfigured my arm into a decompiler and shot the beam.

Lumber turned to dust exposing the tub and its occupant, still strong life signs. I scanned him and found no injuries short of a blow to the head so I picked him up with a tractor beam and put him in a comfortable position.

I yelled to the firemen that were pulling up that I had got him and there were no more life signs. When I got to the ground I levitated him in front of me and took off running. I had to raise him above me level as I dodged obstacles below as I ran.

I entered and saw a crowd around Vickie, she enquired about my patient as I put him on a bed. "He was a smart man, he jumped into the tub". "That's Jim from the hotel on main. We all told him that place would be a horrible shelter for a twister. Is he going to be ok?" Asked the sheriff. I nodded and went to Vickey, she had all the big players in front of her. The fireman got a radio call and let us know of a fire on the edge of town. Vickey spoke up "I'm dispatching a drone now your men can stand down". She looked at the sheriff "May we monitor your radio traffic to be more effective?" He nodded.

"Gentleman, we also have food, water and emergency accommodation. May we discuss that now". Everyone nodded "we can have our bots do the distribution but I think people would be better". The mayor nodded and got on the sheriff's radio. "How much of the town was damaged" I asked the sheriff. He took off his hat" it looks like 20% of the town is just gone and another 20% is non liveable". I looked around and found Sandy talking to some of her staff "I apologize for interrupting but I need a little info". She nodded at the man she was talking to and turned to me "what can I help you with".

"Do you know how many people lost their homes tonight" she thought for a sec "it ran through the residential area of town so I'm guessing 200 homes and just as many families". I thought in my head "Vickey how fast can you make an apartment building?"

"About 6 hours" was my answer. I did a quick scan then went to the administrator who was talking to Vickey "who owns the land across the street".

That got me an odd look from her "it belongs to the city but it's all swamp" I smiled then realized she couldn't see it "that's not a problem, people are going to need housing so I'm going to build it there. Vicky would you please". She nodded at me "200 units will be 6 stories and will be done in 6.2 hours". I nodded and Sandy gave me an odd look.

That's when people started showing up. Lots of cuts and gashes from glass and flying debris. Vickey finished scanning and told me the swamp posed no problem.

I went to Sandy who was now talking to her brother, they were seated and smiled as I approached. I did notice that Sandy was taking this in stride, her brother not so much. A girl joined them and judging by the hand holding it was his gf.

I looked at Sandy "so what do you think about all of this?" She smiled "it's all so amazing but I can't help but think I'm going to be out of a job very soon".

"On the contrary, all of these bots are here because I don't have people yet. This is our first run of this system and I will be looking for people like you to be part of this".

She gave me an odd look "I thought Vicky was in charge?" Vickey leaned in "nope just the face for now" she giggled "I promise to explain in detail later but if you're interested we can talk later". I noticed a few beds empty so I suggested Sandy get in and get a checkup. "Why would I do that? I'm feeling fine".

"These beds fix a lot more than injuries. Just lay down for a scan and let's see what we find".

She agreed and layed in an empty bed and I started the scan. 4 seconds later the results popped up. She sat up "well first of all you're in good health but there are a few fixes you should get. You contain the Huntington gene but that is easily fixed. You also have a small lump on your left breast that should be addressed and you have a fractured right pinky toe". She just looked at me and blinked "I did that yesterday getting ready for work, I kicked the leg on the bed. How did this know" she stammered. "The scan goes down to the genetic level and can read your DNA like a book. It's easy to find what's not supposed to be there when you can read the blueprints. Now lay back and let the bed take care of you, it's only 20 minutes". She nodded and laid back.

At this time a fireman came up to us "we were gearing up for a fire and this huge square thing took flight over the house. It surrounded the house in a blue shimmer and the fire went out". Vickey took this one "the drone scanned the structure and determined there was nobody inside. When it surrounded the structure it removed the oxygen and injected steam to put out hotspots."

"It was one hell of a thing to see it happen. The whole process took 2 minutes" the firefighter said.

There were a few people starting to gather around "where is all this coming from" was the main question. After the 4th time they asked Vicky she looked at me with a look I didn't recognize. That's when she threw me under the bus so to speak.

Vicky gatherd everyone's attention "the person responsible for all of this is sort of here" She pointed at me. I just waved "first of all I'm human I'm just controlling this bot from my office". Why was the most asked question "I'm not ready to reveal myself yet but I couldn't wait and you needed the help. This is a dry run of this system so if you see things I missed please speak up".

"Where did you get all this" came from the group. "This tech came into my possession a few weeks ago and this is my first endeavor to share it. So far I'm happy with the results" That got me nodds. "Who gave you this tech". I looked "aliens" that got gasps "I will get into that at a later date but yes this was gifted by aliens for all people. This is just the way things will be from now on" I waved my arm. "When" came from the crowd "if it were up to me tomorrow but I have to be careful and keep people working". That's when Vicky whispered in my ear and I turned to everyone "the first level of the housing we are building is almost done. I would like to go see it if you wish to join me".

We went outside and could see the first floor of an apartment complex. "We took the swamp land and firmed it up and made it safe. The building is all built to code and we will be leaving it behind when we leave". I looked and saw the mayor "this building does not need services, it's self sufficient" his eyes shot open "That's not possible". I laughed "it is now" I heard murmuring when just on que the lights came on. "We have free food and water for all as well I don't care if you take a bunch home after this mess". The mayor laughed "it was a mess before you got here now it's organized chaos" we all laughed.

Sandy was due out of the bed in 60 seconds so I excused myself. She was just opening her eyes as I got to her. "Now that wasn't so bad, how do you feel?" She smiled "I feel fantastic". I looked at her "I'm smiling by the way" knowing all she saw was a purple head.

Getting up she had a bounce in her step, she looked at me "I knew there had to be stuff out there like this. I've been watching science fiction all my life and now I'm seeing it for real." She giggled "well this is some of what I'm bringing to humanity if you want to help" she looked at me shocked "are you offering me a job?"

"Possibly yes, I saw who you were in a situation that was way outside your wheelhouse and you didn't crack. Seems like a good prospect to me". She smiled and it was a genuine smile. "Listen for now why don't you take over things here and be my go between for the hospital. Cycle every one through the beds, you know how good they work. Get the staff through as well gotta keep the protectors safe. Any ideas?"

She cocked her head and smiled "floor by floor and we will be done in no time. The general public goes through when they come for supplies''. "That sounds like a fantastic plan" I waved to Vicky and she came over "Vicky can you program the bots to respond to Sandy" she smiled and nodded then looked at Sandy "all robots will listen to your commands".

Sandy calmly nodded "I need nto get to work" she smiled "well I'm going to leave this in yours and Vicky's hands. I have real life things to do". That got me head nods and smiles so I put my avatar in its case and powered down.

I found an audience when I looked around. "hi" was my only reply. Lisa, Kim and Gar were sitting there. "It was like watching a one man play, you were so into it" Gar said. "Well I was working" I said in my defense. Lisa spoke up "we know it's fun, are you going to hire Sandy?"

"Possibly" that's when I realized they are using me as a reality tv show and bust out laughing getting weird looks. "I will explain later" got me out of that one.

I walked over to Lisa and picked her up for a nose lick. "Sorry but that will be work for the foreseeable future" she nodded "the kits made a game of attacking anyone in a hat without getting stepped on by you" she giggled. I sat with her "how long have you been here". She smiled "we got here just just before you saved that man in the tub" she blushed "I came here for a cuddle but when I saw you in action I couldn't resist watching". I held her to me "I think it's time for a nap" she said to me. I smiled "I think that is a fantastic idea"

I stood with her in my arms "your spot has been empty for too long" I said to her and looked at her parents "I've been told to take a nap". They laughed at me and the kits saw us leaving and wanted in on that action. They were on the bed before I got there and as soon as Lisa was settled they picked their spot.
