The next morning the video went live and the response was immediate. Vickey posted it in all the usual spots and we were at a million views and 2 requests from cities. We were watching reaction videos to my interview and most seemed positive. There is always that one guy that thinks it's fake.

Becky looked at me "I think we will have to do more than one site to show people the same results". I nodded "I agree but this time I want to go bigger on this one, maybe a city. Vickey, could you get me a meeting with the mayor of Vancouver?" She nodded "we need to work out costs, how long to finish Vancouver dump". She looked at me "it should take about a year depending on the depth. That's based on two units and afterwards one unit can handle the city".

Her eyes got wide "is an audio call ok for you for the meeting". I nodded "of course". She giggles "when the mayor's aid took the call he personally cleared the mayor's schedule for you in an hour". I smiled "well that was nice".

I sat with my mates and had lunch and talked about nothing in particular. Time for the call, I collected kisses and went to my office.

The mayor and I made pleasantries and he asked the usuals questions. About 15 minutes in he asked about the cost of the units. "Well sir that's the kicker, we want to use your city as an example of what we can do so I'm not charging you. We do ask that the media be allowed to have access to film. There will probably be a few of them". We settled on Monday for a start date and bid our goodbyes.

"Is there anything else going on?" She looked at me "we started breaking down the cars that came up from the surface". "How many families are here now" another smile "45 families and 135 singles so far". I smiled "let's go see" I got up and made my way there.

There I found a lot of happy children running around. I saw Sam making lunch again and went to her. "How are things going". She smiled "I'm still at it. Those kids keep bringing me people who haven't taken care of themselves in a while so they need the help". She held up a clipboard "I have volunteers for every meal". My turn to smile "that makes me feel good" she nodded.

I looked around and saw a couple that looked almost scared. I went to them "May I sit?" They nodded so I did. "Are you ok, you seem spooked?" He spoke up "your beds gave us our lives again. I was strung out on meth and didn't even realize what was going on till I got out of the bed. It took away the cravings for it and it's a little scary".

She looked at me "what do we do now". I smiled "I'm going to give you the opportunity to start over but it's up to you to stay clean. I know it might be hard but you can do it". They looked at one another and said "we will, we promise". I smiled at that and went for a walk. "Vickey can the beds remove all addictions?"

"Almost all sir, some require longer work depending on how bad off they are. The physiological effects take longer to heal but they do in time". We walked and saw people of different ethnic backgrounds getting along. The harshest words were between kids fighting over toys.

Leaving I looked at Vickey "how many ships do we have mining the asteroids?"

"I have 2 in use now, what are you thinking?"

"I'm thinking I want to step up production on the moon base, these people need a permanent home". Another smile "I will make 10 more and get to work sir" I nodded at that.

I made my way to my brothers only to find him packing. "Where are you off to now?" I kidded. "Home" Shaun responded. "All the nieces and nephews have been through". I looked at him "that doesn't mean you have to leave. You and Shelly are welcome here anytime. Besides, have you finished your flight training?" He nodded "good you need to know how to fly your new RV" I stated. "Are you serious little brother?"

"Of course I'm sure it's the least I can do for you. I would have had to deal with the family otherwise" I laughed. "Take a day or two and work with B to design your new ride ok". They both nodded and went back home, finding nobody I went to the kits.

I found Kim and Gar looking glum at the table. "What's wrong?" I asked. They both looked and smiled. They told me they were a little homesick and lost. Kim looked at me "you stole my kids" she laughed. "You can have more" the look I got gave me my answer and that was NO.

"If you want jobs talk to Vickey, mabey she can suggest something. What did you do on your home world?" Gar spoke "we were teachers but there is nothing we can teach here". "Well we will have a base soon so there will be tons of positions there". They looked at me "base?" They both said. "Yea I gave Vickey the go ahead to break ground as soon as possible". Vickey appeared "I would make any job you want available to you". Gar and Kim looked at one another and held hands on the table. "I want you to promise me something though, take your time and don't jump in blindly". Kim stood and hugged me closely followed by Gar. "Thank you for this and everything". She started to cry and I froze and let her get it out. "I'm so happy because I get to start over and I think I need a change". When I left them they were discussing possible career changes.

Feeling good about myself I went home to find it still empty. I decided on a shower and took my time. I got out just as my girls came home. Carla ran to me and hugged me. I grabbed her up as Lisa and Cora came for a kiss.

We all cuddled on the sofa and discussed the day. We talked about the base and the possibilities of living there. They looked at me "I can work from anywhere" That got giggles. We talked till I realized Carla was asleep. The girls laughed at me trying to get up without waking her. We all decided it was time for bed so we went.
