The World Tree wasn’t natural or possible.
The only reason why it stood strong for a billion years was pure magic power.
As the mountains in the continent became prairies and then beaches and deserts, taking away the perfect climate I had created for it, the Tree still stood strong.
As the moist and ethereal clouds of smoke at the Tree ceased to be and its death and yin energy began to fade under the scorching Qi directed to it by the planetary array, it still survived.
As the higher realms of the Tree became inflated with pure Yang and separated themselves from this world, forming their own domains, the Tree was still alive.
As the Yin creatures at its roots began eating the Tree itself from bellow, searching for the Yin source to create their own separated Realms of Reality, it managed to retain some of its past glory.
And now, as the demonic domains had turned into pure lava and the First Continent first changed by me was devastated by a cataclysmic eruption, the Tree was finally dead - most of its magical power consumed to avoid being destroyed by the worlds’ Qi, and the last bit of it channeled directed into the earth - to avoid a much greater eruption to occur, destroying the continent even further.

First, I was a bit surprised once I knew of the Trees’ decision not to use its magical power to transfer its soul to a new vase.
It would cost it most of the Magical Power it had accumulated thought the Eons, but even its humongous soul could be transferred to some new place.
Then, as I talked to it, it became clear why.
Such silly Tree had become affectionate to the poor beings of this world.
Knowing they could not reincarnate their souls once dead, it desired to give to most of them the most of salvation it possibly could.
So, it didn’t try to raise new mountains at the edge of the continent once the older ones became beaches.
It didn’t want to see the lives of the beings nearby being lost given the changes it would need to make to the terrain.
As the planetary Qi began heating it up, it didn’t try to preserve its own life by seeking sacrifices, such as by taking in salt water from the seas.
Instead, it decided to use Magical Power to redirect such Qi above, to its fragile leaves, to allow for the beings above it to create their own Realms.
As the Qi began threatening the dark beings under its roots, it had long since started to channel yang energy to the Eternal Shadows, moving them away from the Yin core, and even personally advised the Dark beings in its roots about the method to harvest such energy, quickly losing its own protection against the scorching fire.
