Chapter 1:
When I opened my eyes, I was in the body of a little child.
I should be around 2 or 3 years old.
At first, I thought I was human again, but I soon noticed I wasn’t.
Because a torrent of information came to my head in a single moment.
I’m in a new world. A place in the same universe as earth, but totally different from it.
There’s many differences here from earth.
The first one is that humans don’t exist here. At least until now.
I’m one of the first races to inhabit this land.
A True Elf.
The True Elves are this world’s first rational race. We are just like humans, except we have slightly pointy ears.
Also, this is a fantastic world. Due to it being very young, different from earth, it still has magic!
A very strong magic force permeates the whole world, and it will do so until True Humans evolve.
But that will only happen if I can do my job right.
As a former human from earth, my job is to bring civilization and progress to this place. Once I establish some degree of rationality I can go back home, or choose to stay here.
Right now, I would definitely go right back home, though!
The feeling in my chest is horrible, as I feel like a young child who just lost its mother. I didn’t realize being sent to a different world would make me feel so… so… vulnerable.
I feel like crying, but that would be useless.
There are other children together with me, and once one of them started crying, it took a blow to the head, strong enough for it to faint!
Why?
Because everyone is naked and we live in a cave. Yes, I have been reincarnated in the Stone Age, where the smartest guy around can’t even walk straight!
How am I supposed to make this work ?!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
I got used to the rules of our village soon enough.
It seems I have been living for some time already, since I have hazy memories of this place.
Somehow, once I turned old enough, my former life’s memories returned to me.
True Elves mature absurdly fast.
In just 3 years a child can grow into an adult. It seems I’m about 2 and a half years old.
They also reproduce at absurd rates. Pregnancy takes only sixty days, and children are always born in groups of five or six.
Nothing like Elves in fiction, nothing at all.
Why?
Because True Elves are the mother of all rational races!
From globins to dragons, we are supposed to be the ones who eventually evolve to give birth to all of those.
This process shall take hundreds of millions, or even billions of years…
And I may need to be around all the time.
Since I am the carrier of the Seed of Reason - the one given by Gaia to this world’s spirit, whose name is Tiphoon.
This world’s spirits don’t have immortal souls yet, because one’s immortal soul only forms once it reaches reason!
Instead, they have mortal souls - pseudo-souls, like a humans’ one, but which disappears after they die.
So, as one who was previously born human, that is, a carrier of Innate Reason, I shall be responsible to guide this world’s races to Reason - until some day, a True Human shall arise.
What is a True Human?
One just like me, who can even be reborn in the body of a Lesser Race, like the Elves, and still hold its mind and memories from a previous life.
All humans on earth are like that. And all of us are supposed to be reincarnated somewhere else as Seeds of Reason once we die.
And because of how many True Humans there are there, our planet is considered to be one of the greater and richer places in the universe.
Tiphoon expects for me to do the same here.
I hope I can do a good job…
After all, this place may become my permanent home in the future. At least if mother earth refuses me once my work is done, as she seems to do with most people who try to go back….
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tiphoon hasn’t left me with little in terms of power.
He has given me one which could be the greater of powers in this world. By just looking at things I can immediately know a lot about them.
Things like if the thing is useful for magic, how to refine it into a weapon or how to take its alchemy and medicinal proprieties out.
So far, I have already amassed a huge amount of power. Not to mention my tribe’s Alpha Male, I have already taken dozens of villages and it has been only a couple months since I have reclaimed my old memories.
It wasn’t too difficult, as all the characteristics of a True Elf’s body have been engraved in my mind already.
I know all the ways to make it stronger, and all the ways to make it die. I know how to manipulate magic using my body, voice and mind, and how to craft amazing magic objects.
The bigger problem now is how to create reason on my peers.
Not that I have any attachments to them.
My tribe wasn’t monogamic, or even cared about motherhood. The children were taken care of by the closest female…. Or the one who eventually cared to give them food.
So, I have no idea about who could be my father, mother or siblings.
I’m alone in this world.
And I may forever be.
I left the tent I have made with dinosaur skin and bones, and saw my new tribe in front of me.
Roughly five hundred semi-rational bipedal beings, rolling in their own filth and incapable of making a single tool, except the most rudimental of stone weapons - a barbed knife to hit your enemy in the forehead with.
They can’t even make stone tools, cook or skin animals by themselves yet. That’s too advanced for them. Last time I tried to show one of them how to make fire, all failed. Rubbing sticks broke. Spark-making stones where used to hit another elves. And magic made them prostrate in front of me, pissing themselves. Everything else failed as well.
- AAAARRRRRRHUUUUAAAAA !!!
I yelled while also channeling the world’s magic into my throat, and the yell traveled hundreds of miles in all directions.
The birds in the forest took flight and herds of huge animals started moving. This stone-age-like world is actually a lot younger than earth, and dinosaurs exist here, together with this First Civilization.
My subjects looked to me in awe and fear.
For them I am a god. One who strikes fear into their hearts and confuses their minds.
For me, they are my heard, my children, my people and my burden.
I’m this world’s first Witch King.
And these are my subjects, who fight in the frontlines for me.
- HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !
A different yell, and we march for battle. We won’t stop until all the True Elf tribes of this continent are under my banner.
My first lesson to my people: Simple language and war.
Why?
Because they can’t understand anything else. And because I need to breed them.
