-Why should I?
- Just do it already, damn kid!
-Screw it, old geezer!
Rashia broke the magic device on his way out. For the fifth time. He never had much patience, or wanted to have any.
It wasn’t uncommon for elvii, as his race called itself, of his age to be in bad terms with his parents - so he didn’t care.
What he did care for, was going out of the damp cave his parents told him to stay at.
He had things he wanted to do outside, after all.
And amongst those things, sneaking into the sours’ houses was his favorite.
His dark skin was perfect for sneaking in the night, and his dark seed even better. Those useless white-skinned jokes outside wouldn’t even notice him approaching.
It wasn’t rare for people of his race to have dark seeds, but it was exceeding rare in the white peoples’ houses. That puzzled him.
Weren’t dark seeds better than white seeds?
Even if the sours’ didn’t like to sneak at night, a white seed would make them weirdly vulnerable and unstable. It wasn’t rare for a white-seed to lose control of themselves and blow up while using magic.
Besides, white-seed people couldn’t harm dark-seed people directly. They would be struck by a Heavenly Tribulation if they did so.
Suddenly, a small dark shadow, like an elvii but small, would appear right at their necks and take their seeds away. They would die forever.
So, how come white-seed people were the majority amongst the sour?
Shouldn’t the dark-seed people had taken all their heads already?
Rashia couldn’t make heads or tails of this, or wanted to do it.
After all, he had come to his target for this nights’ activities.
A big brown house. It had three towers and was made by enchanting an old elkwood tree, extremely magical stuff.
Rashia touched the wall in front of him, and his hand hissed.
- Mother#$%!
He hissed behind his teeth, while casting healing magic on himself.
These white-seed people couldn’t harm him directly with spells or weapons, but protective spells weren’t a direct attack - so nothing would happen to them because of it.
Still, to make protection spells made specifically to harm dark-seed, didn’t these guys have any shame?!
A grin appeared on his face.
“Very well” - he thought for himself - “I will just get in by other means then”.
The Dark Elf had plenty of ways to overcome such difficulty. With a hand gesture his body shrunk and twisted, until he himself had taken the form of a red mole.
The whole process took only a few moments, and he dived on the earth behind the house.

Those white-skin people usually didn’t protect the roots of the trees they made they houses of.
Such naivety! Perfect for playing a prank on them.
Still, as Rashias’ teeth touched the trees’ roots, sharp pain spread through his body.
- Damn it!
The sour whities which owned this house surely knew their stuff.
Or maybe they had just learned from their neighbor’s mistakes, haha!
Rashia wouldn’t give up so easily.
It was painful, yes, but on an ultimate analysis, it was just sour magic. It was bound to have a weak spot.
So, he inspected the main root, the windows and the leaves.
No entrance.
Rashias’ intuition said to him that something was wrong.
How come they knew how to bound the house so well?
- Tsc. Whatever.
Still, he choose to ignore it.
If he couldn’t enter by the regular ways, then he just had to cheat a bit.
The dark elf took a white seed from his dark pouch.
He didn’t kill the later owner, of course. He liked to play around a bit, but killing was too much. He didn’t even steal any valuables. He just liked the challenge of breaking in and out of a house without being noticed.
Of course, the greater challenge would be to do that to another elvii, as many would do at his homeland, but he still had to horn his skills a lot before doing it like that.
The girl whose seed came from burst herself while trying to cast a spell.
He hadn’t even done anything to her. He was in the woods looking for roots for a stew, she saw him and got all messy and scared. Before he could even say anything, all that remained was her seed.
Raisha thought many times if he should retain or give away the girls’ seed. He knew the whities had some kind of tradition of burying people seeds, and, even if it made no sense to him (a seed is just a seed, right? Its not like it’s the persons’ body or soul in there), he still thought that it may be better to leave the seed to them.
On another look, he knew that Seeds needed protection rather than forgetfulness and burying. He himself had cared for many seeds on his younger years. Anytime someone died in the village, the younger kids would be summoned to take care of their Seeds.
The loved ones would then bury the body, recalling the memories of the person they lost amongst themselves, and the village children would take care of feeding the seeds with magic.
This way, a new Soul would sooner be born out of the seed, and it would eventually be taken in by someone who wished to have a baby.
It was magic training for the kids, and also a way to ensure that their people wouldn’t have many white seeds born amongst them. The only seeds which didn’t go through this process were those so white they would shatter at the moment of death, or those who were strong enough to retain some soul - at least for a few minutes, so someone could cast the Soul Binding spell on it, retaining some of the old users’ soul and memories in it.
Even seeds which were White, but not entirely, would be given this kind of treatment, even becoming a little less white! Everyone liked this, since white seed-people would suffer a lot during their lives. They couldn’t even defend themselves, so everyone looked at them with pity.
They could even become full dark seeds if they were taken care of and feed enough magic, so grooming it was an wonderful thing!
After all, the whole process might take many lives if they didn’t get cared after by someone.
“It will be better if I take care of it” - He decided - “Besides, white seeds are very useful!”.
- Theeere we go.
Rashia held the white seed against the wall, and it separated into two layers.
- Haha!
Success! His predictions where correct. Indeed, it was a two-layer spell. The innermost barrier was a simple house-barrier one. The outside spell was a harmful barrier spell, but made specifically to hurt those with dark seeds.
- Humpf.
“Amateurs” - thought Rashia, while tearing a big hole in the outside barrier. A simple house-barrier, of course, couldn’t stop him.
Soon, with a *puff* of smoke, he appeared inside the house. A short teleportation spell was all that was needed to do so.
However, as Rashia looked around greedily thinking which would be his trophy this time, he felt a burning sensation.
Chains of pain entangled his whole body, covering him in unmerciful blisters and burn marks.
- AAAAH!
Rashia couldn’t avoid screaming as he felt his body burning.
- You have nowhere to run now, demon.
Soon, a hooded figure came from the shadows. It used a long white robe, with red-fire patterns covering its shoulders and back.
Rashias’ eyes widened.
An inquisitor! A sour inquisitor!
Why was an inquisitor there?!
He was sure to take all precautions. He didn’t hurt anyone, or stole anything of value!
Besides, like everyone his age, he also had taken care not to be seen and also to leave gifts from time to time. They were good gifts besides that! Magic stones, magic herbs, he even gave someone a piece of mooth-turtle silk! The sour whities shouldn’t have any reason to call in an inquisitor, except… the seed!
“This is bad!” - He panicked on his mind.
He struggled to get out of the chains, to teleport or to dispel the enchantment.
All to no avail.
The inquisitor raised his hand. He fainted.
