Chapter 31: Evolution
Humans have always been a special creature throughout the realm; abilities are inherent through the gene pool, not earned, and yet the human race has it.
Not only that, their abilities defile common sense and have the potential to surpass nature itself.
And humans from the fourth realm are even more unique; they can evolve their ability to godhood, but if such a thing were that easy, I would have been ruler of realms.
I have spent centuries just to find out how to awaken the World Will, which has stayed idle for some reason that even now I can’t figure it out. Then spend another century to discover their potential.
Their mana capacity evolution is similar to how others from different realms evolve, but their abilities... are quite difficult to evolve.
From Common to Uncommon, that human has to kill a B-rank creature…and to reach C-rank in the first place, you must have an uncommon ability, so they have to kill a B-rank creature while being a D-rank. That is the easiest because you just need to kill, not to fight it one-on-one.
Then from Uncommon to Special, you must devour an S-rank core…Now that I think about it, how the fuck can I feed an S-rank core to Rango and why? That thing is more effective than the youth elixir, so the poor golem won’t become a special rank soon.
From Special to Peak, you must drink a potion that contains the following ingredients: the scale of a Dragon, the feather of a Phoenix, the mucus of a Kraken, and a vat full of the blood of an S-rank being. Mixing all of that will create at least
three potions of evolution.
For me to create that while in this pathetic state is close to impossible, so the only way I can get it is from stealing. So I infiltrated this place despite the threat it possessed. Most of the humans working here can cleave off my head easily, so I have to be on guard.
And now, I realize that not only the people here but people from the outside too can kill me, so to prevent that from happening, I must kill them first. Yep, my motive isn’t devouring their demonic energy but stopping bad things from happening.
As we were running from the two, I dropped the finger I ripped off before.

“Link”
From the wrist of my hand, tiny black orbs appear in the air and circle; this also happens to the finger. When exactly thirteen orbs were circling my wrist and the finger, I felt my mana being transferred to the fingers.
Smirking, I cast another spell.
“Mana explode”
Usually, mana exploded isn’t that useful except when you want to self-destruct or you want to activate an explosive. My ability turns my body into the thing I digested. And now I can transform more than one material at the same time.
So I can swallow up a bullet and become a bullet itself, but if I increase the powder inside it, it becomes a bomb.
And not only that, these inventions are born to be compatible with mana, just like that rifle. The rifle from the times when I fought long ago was born not to increase the firepower but to endure the force of the bullet.
Sure, to change my flesh to such materials is a hassle, but that was from before; now I can change into more complex material, giving me the means to attack stronger foes instead of relying on close combat.
The finger, which is falling right on top of the golem, expanded like a water balloon and exploded.
BOOM
From a small finger unleashed a blinding green light that illuminated the surroundings combined with a deafening booming sound. Following up is a green flame devouring the robot and the surroundings… but the building remains intact, the windows didn’t break, and from the flames, the robot-
No, a mud sculpture standing on a blackened floor due to the explosion. Despite half of its face being gone, the thing is still standing and looking up.
Right at me
I take a look and realize that we aren’t in the school anymore. To be precise, we are in a completely separate dimension, a parallel dimension to the real world. Not only that, this is a confined space, meaning there is no escape.
“To think that you are this reckless.”
“You didn’t think there were no consequences?”
The sculptures collapsed, and from it, two figures rose from the mud. A man and a woman with a white cloak cover their entire body. Each of them is wearing a white mask resembling a fox, no, not a fox, a kitsune.
As the demonic energy emitted toward me, I can’t help but jump out of the shadow while shivering.
“Ha, feeling sc-“
BANG
I punched straight at the woman, but the fist was caught by the man. He, while holding my hand, slammed me against the wall, then to the floor before throwing me away.
“Be cautious; that thing is possessed by a demon.”
Despite the blood flowing out of my head, I can’t help but laugh. A confined space with two weak demonic humans right in front of my eyes.
“It's been a long time since I had a proper meal.”
My arms begin to pop out demonic wings while my legs turn into a grasshopper. I stand up, looking at them. I can feel it, the insatiable hunger inside me. Demon or human, they are all hungry for food.
“Let the feast begin.”
“Do you think you can take two of u-“
The shadow surged one more time, and three figures fell down: a young girl, a black wolf, and a skeleton with the size of a bear landed right next to Beelzebub, silent, the two.
“Good, now Alissa, let's see if that one month is a waste or not.”
“Yes, sir.”
“Now let the feast truly begin.”
