-Liz's POV-
After bidding a good night to Reinard, I rolled on the bed and laid there with my back against the soft mattress while looking at the ceiling, contemplating my choice of leaving my subjects in Elanoir. I had checked throughout the world when I sent the mana sense across the globe for any trace of my parents but alas there was none. I should be crying myself to sleep right now knowing my parents are dead but here I am looking at the ceiling and drifting off in the wonderland.
'Should've just stayed in Elanoir.' Why did I even come back, I had it all but nope, I had to come back here and start over, why? Because I want to protect the world? Do I even want to be the savior of humanity?
These questions just kept coming in my thoughts and I just ignored them because I didn't want any distractions.
I had already started researching the world teleportation spell that had brought me back here because I won't be staying here after making the monsters in this world go extinct. I also want to explore the universe just like all humans want to. To go to outer space, discover new planets and new life.
'You're getting distracted again Liz, wake up'. I suddenly gasp for air as I see the sunlight covering a part of the room and brightening it up.
'Ughh..the dreams, although I do want to travel through worlds but, not at the moment at least for now.'
-An hour later-
So the tasks for today are, getting to know The Cuties Guild Quests, going of to explore a dungeon for the first time ( obviously in this world because who knows if it will be different from the dungeons on Elanoir ), Earning myself some money and finally buying a house. After that the real show will begin.
I nearly forgot about my Adventurer ID. I took out the card from my dimensional space I had put in right after talking with Reinard last night.
I look at the Card which has an Emerald Green color on the front side and black at the back side. At the front side of the card is my photo, which I don't even know when they took it, with my name, Lily written in black and gold color, and my association, The Cuties Guild and lastly my Rank, which happens to be A Rank. 'Not a surprise there huh, it was going to be either B Rank or A Rank'. The backside of the card was plain but with a chip attached to it, most likely for transaction purposes as one of the benefits of joining The Cuties was having a private vault and a private bank account providing unlimited transactions and free of tax. 'A beneficial guild indeed'. I think while nodding to myself and pressing the button for the 8th floor.
The elevator door opened and I was impressed by the look this floor gave me, pure white furniture, with pink carpet spread out on the floor, and emerald color walls. The floor was huge, quite literally in the size and also in the dimensions.
I looked around to find the quest registration desk at the end of the room from where I was standing with a few people running here and there. I saw large boards placed on the walls with the quests attached to them. There were a lot of adventures here despite it being a floor only for A Rankers.
I walked up to one of the boards with the sign 'Dungeon Clearing Quests' , there were lots of signs like these but all had different types of Quests ranging from transportation of goods to killing monsters.
Why transportation, you might ask because when there are still airplanes flying through the skies what's the need for transportation quests. The thing is, there are only limited flights per day and the dangers in the skies are not much above the cities. But if you go beyond a certain point, the skies are also one of your enemies, filled with cyclones, tornadoes in the middle of sky, flying monsters and some of the stuff like that. Although it's dangerous to take a flight, there are people still willing for a short duration of journey rather than the gruesome land journey. And here comes the transportation quests for those who cannot afford the flights and have to travel beyond the walls for months just so that they can reach their destination.
I look at the list of quests on 'Dungeon Clearing Quests', most of them are outside the city within 7 miles of distance. The paths beyond the walls are all filled with monster's who happen to be there because of dungeon break, although on small scale but still dangerous. There were various dungeon quests, like the Insect Dungeon, filled with insects the size of a two story building. The Wild Dungeon, filled with pure monsters, abomination and horrors that you might not find in a normal dungeon. The Drakes Dungeon, filled with drakes who vary in size and the type of elements they can use. There were more dungeon quests than I had thought but I decided to go with the Drakes Dungeon.

I went up to the quest registration desk and waited for my turn as there were only three desks but all of them were already packed, so obviously I took the least packed of the three desks. While waiting in the line, a group of three women approached me, they were wearing normal clothes and not the usual type of armor you may find adventurers wearing all the time. One of them was a tall beauty with red hair, black eyes, another one was short but cute, with brown hair and hazel eyes and the last one was average in height, had black hair and black eyes.
“Hey there!!, I am Jenifer” said the tall beauty while putting her hand out, as a form of greeting.
“I am Lily” I said while looking her in the eyes as her hand was left to catch air. She withdrew her hand and scratched the back of her head while laughing it off. ‘Always the head scratches for not shaking hands and trying to laugh it off’ I thought to myself. The other two also introduced themselves but did not stick their hands out. The short one was named Anna and the other one was Rose.
“What do you guys want?” I asked them as. ‘All three of them were around the age of 25 and what would women so young want from a 35 year old like myself’ I thought to myself while mentally shrugging the thought.
“Well we were going to clear a dungeon to the south of the city, and we were a person short on the team, so… we thought that asking someone to come with us would be a good idea and here we are now, asking you to join us.” Jenifer said while the other two nodded their heads at her answer.
I look at the three of them one by one. "Why should I join you three? Won't that be a problem, like you'll have to split the rewards and you will be doing a dungeon exploration with a stranger, who might or might not kill you all". Saying those things right to their faces made them realize that it might become true if they didn't select a good teammate, whom they have known for a while. 'These girls are going to be hopeless in the dungeon if they take a random stranger as their teammate, they might be taken advantage of' .
There is still the thing of the dungeons in this world being different than they were on Elanoir, it might be a good idea to join them and give them a lesson too.
"Well, what you're saying is true but we have to take that risk! Otherwise we won't be able to enter a dungeon" says Rose while looking at me a bit warily. I had put a bit of fear in them by saying that statement, but it’s for their good.
"Fine, I'll go with you three but keep this in mind if anyone of you try to even so much as betray me, I'll have your heads separated and put them in my collection room" I reply while grinning a bit creepily while saying the last part, which obviously scares them. I might be underestimating them but, as the saying goes 'Precaution is Better than Cure' .
The three of them smile a bit wryly and go on to explain which dungeon they were going to.
After a bit of rambling on and on about the dungeon and the strategies they will be using, we finally go to the quest registration desks.
"How may I help you all?" says the worker at the desk.
"We would like to register for 'The Drakes Dungeon' as a party of four people" says the shortie, Anna, whom I had thought to be the shy type, but she knows when she has to speak and when not to speak. She was also the youngest of the three, 23 years old, Rose was 24 and Jennifer was 26, an odd group, but I could see that they had a bond between them. Which I was sure as hell going to test in the dungeon. We had chosen this particular dungeon because I wouldn't be going with them if they had chosen any other dungeon than this.
“Okay, please give me all your ID’s ” the worker said while we all took out the ID’s and handed it to her. I saw that two of their ID’s were sapphire blue and one was emerald green, the same as mine.
“It’s done, a party of 2 A Rankers and 2 B Rankers, here are the passes for The Drakes Dungeon, have a safe journey.” the worker said, having registered our names in the system. ‘So the sapphire blue is for B Rankers, and the emerald green is for A Rankers, I wonder what’s for S Rankers?’
I don’t have any idea how 2 B Rankers could come to a quest involving A Ranker with a medium level threat according to the quest I read on the board. So I asked them.
“Can someone please tell me, why can 2 B Rankers are coming to an A Ranked quest with a threat level of medium?” I formed the sentence in such a way that it would not be suspicious to them, like why does an A Ranker not know basic rules for the dungeons ‘Cuz I have not fucking read em at alllll’
“It’s because there are 2 A Rankers taking the quest” says Anna, while shaking her head like I shouldn’t have asked such a dumb question. This brings a frown on my face which Jenifer notices and immediately replies.
“It’s because B Rankers are allowed to take A Ranked quests, if and only if they have 2 A Rankers in their party.” My frown disappears at that sentence and I nod towards Jenifer, although she might have already guessed the meaning behind my words as her reply was what I needed to hear.
Having done everything we needed, we moved out and headed towards ‘The Drakes Dungeon’, which is just an hour walk from the gates of the L.A. We took a taxi to reach the southern gates, which took us half an hour just because people running on the streets at high speeds was not allowed by the government. Reaching the gates and telling the adventurers or more like city guards we finally headed towards the dungeon.
