-3 Days Later-
The incident in L.A happened 3 days ago. With half the city destroyed, residents had no choice but to take refuge somewhere. So people of L.A. left to the still standing cities all over the world. This incident was like a warning to the people, that even with the adventurers and walls surrounding you constantly, you were still not safe. The adventurers lost that day numbered in hundreds. It was not a huge loss for humanity but, losing even a somewhat capable adventurer these days was a huge loss for the normal people of L.A., who still don’t want to leave their walls and fight for themselves. These people who feared the Guilds because of the powers they had, didn't have choice but to take a step forward and leave their cozy places to find a new home, while fighting off monsters in the wild.
-Liz’s POV-
“Master, it’s good to see you.” Reinard says while handing me a hot cup of coffee that he had made just now. I was back in Las Vegas. The battle that demolished half of L.A. had happened just three days ago. The aftermath of that fight was a lot worse than I had thought but I didn’t care about it that much. I had already left L.A. yesterday and currently, I was in Reinard’s office room. I had told Luna that I would be taking a few days off because of the incident in L.A. and she had agreed to it, thinking the same thing. The rebuilding of the city was still in consideration by the many guilds that had branches in L.A. and I was sure that they would be rebuilding it but not as quickly as I wanted them to start rebuilding it. The plan of taking the control of the city was also not a simple one, as I would have to eventually demonstrate my power and make the adventurers willingly join my guild.
I have always been a Benevolent Ruler to my subjects but to the ones who were not my subjects, they saw me as a Tyrant Ruler because of my Conquering habits. If there was something that I wanted, I would rather take it forcefully and rule over it. But here, I would have to build a reputation and then execute my plans or else the adventurers and the people of this world would go against me, which was not what I wanted.
"So, did you get what I told you to do?" I asked Reinard as he sat in front of me sipping the hot coffee that he had come to like recently.
"Yes master, it's already in progress"
"Good. Also make sure you build your Guild in L.A. too. I have some plans regarding the people there." I tell him while drinking the coffee, it was a bit sweeter than I had thought it to be. 'He's got a sweet tooth now?' I wondered.
"Ah... Reinard, can you show me your Guild and also that organization of yours?"
"Sure master, what would you like to see first though?"
"How about we go to your Guild first and then to your organization"
-Ten Minutes Later-
We were in a red sports car heading towards the Guild, Reinard had built in the last few months. I had already gone back to my original appearance but I was using a spell, making the people forget my appearance, the moment they looked at me. It took him a while to manage everything but, the progress this guild has made on the Leaderboard was astounding. They were already in the Top 40's and still rising. You might think that how a newly created guild can rise up so fast. It's because there were only 50 Guilds all around the world but the number of people in these guilds was in millions and with the population of the world being nearly 4 billion. Take the Guilds in L.A for example. Of the nearly a million population in L.A. Most of the Main Guilds and their branches in L.A had hundreds of thousands of members. But we still lost only a few hundred people, which was not that much of a loss for the World.
Now coming back to Reinard's Guild. He had implemented his own teachings on the members of the Guild and helped them progress faster than the other Guild's members, this helped him in making a good enough contribution by clearing dungeons all around North America more faster and more effectively than the other Guilds with nearly lowest mortality rate by far.
While I thought these things, we had already arrived at the Guild building which was similarly a 20 stories high building, like most of the guilds and the name of the Guild guild on the windows of the building written in a mix of black, gold and red colour "The Bloody Retribution", a good choice, if I say so myself.
We entered the building through the revolving doors at the front of the building. I could see the same theme used for the Guild's name, in the form of interior. The walls painted black with the furniture made of a mix between red and gold. The carpets laid out on the floor were a mix of all three colors. All in all it was a pleasing sight to my eyes and I didn't fail to appreciate Reinard for the choice of the colors. There were also the reception desks at the back of the floor with a lot of people going about doing their work.
"Nice use of colors, Reinard, it looks a lot pleasing to the eyes and gives a feeling of richness to the surroundings"
"Thank you,Master, I really appreciate it" he says and leads me to the testing grounds on the first floor of the building.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
The testing ground was not empty, as I could see some tests going on and a few people sitting in the waiting area, waiting for their names to be called out to be tested.
We both entered the testing site and took a seat in the audience that consisted of the members of this guild. As a past time some of these adventurers come to observe the newbies who might become their teammates in the near future.
The spell I had put on myself had also included Reinard because I didn't want anyone to come and disturb us.
We both watched on as the man in the middle of the arena conducted the tests and nearly beat up every tester to a pulp. Making them want to beg and cry but the test takers already knew what was gonna happen to them on the testing ground. The Guild had made it very clear that if you succeed in the tests, you would be healed and treated with respect and will be given a lot of benefits after becoming the member of the Guild but, if you failed, no one would even give you a single glance and you'll be left on your own to deal with the aftermath of the test. Even with the warnings given by the Guild, the number of test takers hadn't declined. It had motivated them to pass the tests, become a member of the guild and earn the benefits that came with it.
We then moved into the mana tests conducted by the different judges and the results here were much different, there was no beating the test takers to a pulp thing. It was just pure magic power and mana capacity testing. We both looked on as Reinard explained to me, about how the testers had done, what rank they'll be getting.
After these testings, we moved on and went up all the floors and he started to give me full fledged reports on how the guild has progressed so far, the number of members, the things they had done until now, the future plans, the financial situation and all desk work things. It was a lot for a normal person but, I was not a normal person at all. I had ruled Elanoir. I didn't need to be told twice about the reports as I had a sharp memory, from the things Reinard had explained to me. The progress was a smooth sailing one and there was nothing to worry about until the World Update thing happens.
Reinard and I spent an hour in his office going through the plans once again with adding a few more things to the list. Then we headed off to the base of his organization.
-An Hour Later-
We were in a black sports car, heading towards the Base. I don't know when, but Reinard had started liking sports cars a lot. To the level of crazy car guy, he has already purchased so many sports cars that he had even made a special garage for them in his Guild building's basement.
Even though the production of the cars should have been stopped, there were still some companies making them and earning profits. There were also some Merchant Guild dabbling in this business, so the flow of cars had not stopped. It had only increased, with their prices going through the roof because adventurers earned their money tax free.
We were currently outside the walls of Las Vegas, in the middle of the forest about 40 miles away from the city and I could see a barrier of sorts in the forest surrounded by tree. It was not visible to the naked eye, but I could see it through my mana sense which was leagues above those of the S Rankers.
We entered the barrier and I was greeted by the sight of a small village of sorts laid to waste by the monsters but, it was just an illusion to keep people from approaching any further.
Then a metal gate opened on the ground and Reinard drove the car leading us to the underground of the village, like the one you see in those secret hero movies. After entering the only thing I could see was a tunnel built of metal heading about 50 meters underground.
"Hey Reinard, have you been watching a lot of secret hero movies or something like that?" I asked Reinard who was driving the car a bit slower than before.
"You mean like the Batman stuff, right?" He takes the name of movie which I do remember. It was about some rich guy playing the role of a hero at night or something like that. So I nod towards Reinard.
"Yeah, I have been watching those kinds of movies, they are the reason for me to be able to build this secret underground facility." Reinard tells me while daydreaming about the something, which I probably won't understand.
After driving for a few minutes we reach the end of the tunnel and enter the facility he had built. I was a lot more spacious than I had thought with the height of about 30 meters the area at least as large as five football stadiums.
"That sure is one huge underground facility."
"Yes, that is true Master. Although at first I hadn't thought about making it this big. But because of the number of people, I had to enlarge it." Reinard answers while parking the car, where I could see a lot of cars already parked, most probably of the people working here.
We both got out of the car and started exploring the facility as Reinard goes into his explaining mode, again.
This facility is currently housing a few hundred thousand people. All of these are either criminals or people who had a lot of talent but didn't gain recognition of any guilds and had to turn themselves into criminals. Reinard had personally handpicked all of these people. I know it might sound unreasonable to handpick a hundred thousand people but, he had an ability to do it and it been a lot of help to me on Elanoir and now on Earth too. He goes into the plans, his teachings to the people here, of him brainwashing them and making them hundred percent loyal to us. It does sound cruel but these people were already criminals with heavy charges against them, so Reinard had no remorse brainwashing them, he won't ever have any remorse for his actions as far as I have seen, except for the things involving me in it.
I looked on as I saw the people training, their bodies, increasing their mana capacity, gaining powers unimaginable by the people of Earth. The more I looked the more it reminded me of the personal army Reinard had created on Elanoir. The way these people here were taught was similar.
The facility was not much interesting though, there was no high tech technologies being developed here, no biochemical war heads, no nuclear bombs. It was just a simple training space, away from the eyes of governments and people. It was more of a housing for these people. Although there was still an office, Reinard had built for himself and a space large enough to accommodate everyone and give them orders, more like a concert hall with a big stage for himself.
Having explored evrything I wanted to, seeing the progress Reinard had made, I was happy, truly I was.
We sat in his office for half an hour. I advised him as much as I could and we eventually left the base and headed towards the no man's land to conduct a very important business with a certain meat paste that I had in my dimensional space.
