That's the neat part...we don't

George and Grim teleported inside a forest. Grim was to his left. George had a different outfit now, instead of his business suit, he now had a medieval tunic and leather shoes. Grim…had the same clothing from before. George looked everywhere before asking.

“Hey Grim, where are we?” He asked curiously.

“We are on the outskirts of the nearest city outside the no-magic zone.” Grim replied.

“Well…why not just near the outside of the zone?”

“Well do you want supplies or not?”

“Can’t you just create supplies?” George suggested. Grim laughed and leaned near a tree trunk.

“Can’t, plus it would take a long time.”

“Well, what do we have to buy?”

“I don’t know…horses, a carriage, weapons, food, water, clothes…” Grim counted with his fingers.

“Well do we have money?” George asked, Grim just widened his eyes and froze. After a few seconds, he chuckled and laughed, he held George’s shoulder.

“That’s the neat part…We don’t. Except for…ten silver coins.” Grim stated, smiling.

“This isn’t the time to be smiling. Also, can’t you just make money?” George asked.

“Here’s the thing kiddo.” He leaned on George. “I once did that…didn’t end well in 1929. Nor did it end well for me cause now…I’m on probation cause of it.”

George was dumbstruck, he then looked down, noticing his change of clothes he looked at Grim.

“Hey, Grim…”

“Yeah?”

“Where’s my suit?”

“Well, you needed to blend in so…I changed your clothes for you.” Grim replied smugly.

“…….”

“Don’t thank me”

“We could’ve sold the suit…” George simply stated, suppressing his anger. Grim widened his eyes.

“Oh, sh*t, we could’ve…” Grim stated.

“Ok, where is the city?”

“Oh, umm…to the left?” Grim pointed to the right of George, then proceeded to turn left.

-“Is it me or is Grim stupid, powerful, and useless?”-

“You’re lost, aren’t you?”

“Well, we’re not lost since we’re near the city.” Grim walked to the left of George, looking at something. George just turned to him, arms crossed, waiting.

He was waiting until something made him sneeze in the direction where Grim was. It was a large sneeze which made him lean back and close his eyes. After that, he then saw an open piece of land and the city itself, large, populated, and had walls. It was a large city; he saw that there were many soldiers above the walls. There was also a big castle in the center, with some smaller ones beside it.

“Hey, Grim! I think I see where the city is!” George shouted, getting no response. He looked around seeing that no one was there.

-“Where was Grim, you asked? Well, he’s in the sky, flying, and falling.”-

With a sigh, George just ran towards the big city.

-Meanwhile with the gate guards-

There were two soldiers in front of the gate, they were inspecting the people entering and exiting the gates. They had only chainmail and leather for their body and a simple metal helmet for the head. One was sitting down, a spear in hand. The other was inspecting a wagon, also having a spear in hand.

After the inspection, the soldier sat with his partner.

“Hey Gary” The latter greeted.

“Sup Jake.” Gary mumbled.

“Why were you late?”

“The kids, man…the kids”

“Wanna go to the bar later?”

“Yeah man, anything to fill my suffering.” Gary smiled.

The two were happily chatting until something fell from the sky. The thing made a huge crater. Then the two, confused and surprised, decided to check it out. Slowly, the two were in a defensive stance.

“Gary why didn’t we call the other gate guards?!” Jake asked, whisper shouting.

“I don’t know man…” Gary replied. As the two reached the edge of the crater, they saw something…smoke was rising and there on the ground…

Was Grim. Grim then stood up and wiped his shirt to remove the dirt as if nothing happened.

“Hey, Kid! You okay?” Jake shouted.

“Yup!” Grim shouted back, not showing his anger at being called a kid. From out of the blue, George arrived.

“You left me behind huh Grim?” George said, somewhat angrily and sternly.

“Hey, I didn’t leave you behind. You flung me here!” Grim replied back.

“Hey! I don’t know what you’re talking about. Let’s just go!” George shouted.

“Fine!” Grim did what George did. Meanwhile, the two guards were just watching the two bicker and quarrel.

“Are you guys the gate guards?” George asked them suddenly. To which Jake merely nodded.

“Do we need something to get in?” George asked again, Jake merely shook his head.

“Great! Can we come in?” George said, excitedly.

“We’ll need to frisk you first for weapons.” Gary piped in.

“Oh, ok.” George replied, willing to get frisked. Gary and Jake then frisked the two, the latter frisked Grim and the former frisked George.

As George was being frisked, Gary found something, or rather…felt.

“Are you hiding a weapon in your private parts?” he asked.

“What weapon? I don’t have any…” George simply replied, not noticing the flustered Gary. Grim and Jake merely looked at the two, dumbfounded.

After the whole inspection. The two were let inside the city.

"What a strange father-son duo" Jake watched the two enter before the gate closed.

"That was humongous..." Gary mumbled, leaving Jake confused.

If the city outside looked amazing, inside looked more amazing. There were many people and creatures like kobolds, lizardmen, dwarves, and beastmen. It had a happy and peaceful atmosphere. There were many stands and vendors in the place. The road looked clean and neat as well. Like it was taken out from a fantasy book or manga or comic or light novel or web novel or a movie. Which it somewhat was.

“Now…moneywise…what do we do?” George turned to Grim who was at his right.

“Well…you can be a soldier, a waiter, a prostitute if you’re like that…or one of the hardest jobs in the world

…being an adventurer”
