"Thank you, dear adventurer!" The mayor exclaimed as he hugged George tightly. "Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!"
"It's no problem..." George replied, awkwardly smiling. Grim and Mileena were a few feet away from him, chatting. "Also, about the reward..."
"Oh, it's in the guild." The mayor let go of him, getting a large smudge of blood on his clothes.
"Ok, thanks." George said before going to Grim and Mileena.
"So, can we get out of here?" Grim asked.
"Yeah..." George said before spitting out another piece of meat. Grim snapped his fingers and thus, they were now in the guild again. There were many more people now rather than before. So, when they appeared, tons of eyes were on them. Without a care in the world, George walked to Alice. Grim followed. The walk was silent as many murmured about them.
"Hey, George!" Alice replied happily.
"Hey..." George paused, smiling. "The reward please..."
"Ok, but first, do you want to put it in your notebook as well?" George nodded while Grim was confused. "Ok...notebooks please!"
George gave Alice his notebook while Grim did the same, yet confused. She then put a red stamp on the first page of the notebook. After that, she returned it to them. She then rewarded them.
"There's a bathhouse that only costs 50 silver coins." She whispered as she handed the reward to George.
"Thanks" George responded. The two then left the building and headed towards a bathhouse.
-"A time skip...also, if you're wondering, Mileena's in the Nether realm."-
After George washed his body and his clothes, the two then went shopping for a little bit.
They divided the remaining 200 coins by two. Meaning they had 100 silver coins each.
Grim said to George that he was buying protection for him. Whilst George...was buying food and other stuff.
When the two met at their rendezvous point. Which was near an alleyway Grim deadpanned at what George bought.
"...George?" Grim said, a bag of leather shoulder and knee pads with him.
"Yes?" George asked, holding a sack of bread and a broadsword strapped on his back with some rope.
"The h*ll do you have?" Grim asked.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
"Some celery" George mumbled, some celery was in his mouth.
"Not that dumb*ss" Grim replied angrily.
"Oh, you asking about the sack of bread?" George asked.
"I'm talking about the broadsword on your f*cking back." Grim said.
"Oh...it was on sale"
"Doesn't mean you should've bought it!" Grim shouted.
"It was meant to be bought!!" George retorted.
"Not by you!"
"What do you mean? I got it for 60 silver coins!!"
"It's impractical!! You don't even have experience with a broadsword!!"
"I can learn!!"
"It takes years to learn!!!!'
"Who said that?!"
"Literally every soldier!!!"
"Can you guys shut your f*cking mouths!!??" An elder shouted at the two. The elder was inside the alleyway and was sleeping on rags but was mad because of the two's shouting. "I'm trying to get some sleep here!!!"
"Sorry..." George replied, he walked towards him and then took something, and that was a whole piece of bread, and gave it to the person. "Here, some compensation."
"What kind of compensation is that??!" Grim asked dumbly.
"What did you bring me?" The old man asked rudely. "I'm blind."
"Oh, just a whole piece of bread." George said hastily. The old man got up from his sleeping position.
"A whole piece of bread??" He asked shocked.
"Yup!" George smiled.
"T-thank you...I'll give you something in return...some knowledge about yourself." The old man said.
"Oh, thanks..."
"Now, give me your hand." The old man readied himself. George then gave him his hand. Once the old man's hand touched George's, the eyes of the old blind man lit up. His facial expression changed a whole lot of times before stopping. Though something was off, he was sweating and huffing. The old man then somehow looked him straight in the eyes and proceeded to grovel in front of him.
"Thank you..." The old man whispered.
"Oh...o....k?" George mumbled and walked away.
"Grim, you coming?" George asked Grim who wasn't moving from his place.
"Just...just give me a moment with the guy." He then went towards the old man who was still groveling. "Hey old man, what did you see?"
The old man stopped groveling and sat down properly.
"He...he is truly powerful...all those untapped power...his...his...his, his...I can not say it out loud...I'm sorry." The old man explained.
"Can you whisper it to me?" Grim asked. The old man nodded, he then crept to his ear and whispered what he wanted to say. Grim's eyes widened in shock and dismay.
"It...it can't be...him? One of them?! That's preposterous!!." Grim told the old man.
"No, I saw what I saw, there is no denying it..." The old man said. "You better not keep him waiting."
Grim nodded and turned to George who was waiting for him.
"What took you long?" George asked, skeptical.
"Nothing, let's go back to the guild, we need more money." Grim answered. George sighed and followed him. Before Grim forgot, he gave George the leather pads to put on.
Once they reached the guild, they were back to looking for quests. They found one. It was to...
"Gather 50 Cilian mushrooms?" George asked Grim. He shrugged in return.
"You don't know what Cilian mushrooms are?" George asked again, Grim shrugged again.
"I have a small memory of Cilian mushrooms. I know what Culan mushrooms are though..." Grim stated.
"...really?" George sighed and groaned in frustration. The reward was abundant, it was 600 silver coins.
"Wait a minute, how do we even get the mushrooms though? Don't they live in moisty places?" George asked once again. Grim replied with a shrug once again. Suddenly, Grim bumped into a blond girl near his height. A blond girl...once again...cup size...A-sized... that's new though. The girl was wearing a tunic that looked like a nun's. The tunic had a light blue hue and a white accent. She had long straight hair with bangs. She looked like a young teen.
-"To be honest...I think it's a chi-...a child...shiiiiiiiiiii"-
The girl screamed in fear, she quickly turned to Grim and did a profound roundhouse kick on him.
