"It won't be that hard" Grim said.
Unbeknownst to him, a grim future awaits him.
Now
"Fuck!" He shouted as he plucked the mushroom too hard. He was cu-
-"Why are you looking at me weirdly?" I asked Mark.
"What?" He asked.
"You're looking at me weirdly." I said seriously.
"It's because you didn't even censor the curse word." He replied. I just sighed and rubbed my temples.
"I got lazy." I said.
"Oh, then you can get back to the narration."-
He was currently squatting near a pile of mushrooms. Grim looked weary as he threw the destroyed Cilian mushroom onto a pile of more destroyed Cilian mushrooms.
"This is hard!" Grim whined as he lay on the ground. Isaac, who was to his right, sighed as he successfully got a mushroom. He was also squatting.
"It's not hard, you are just terrible." He stated, pulling back his attention on gathering more Cilian mushrooms.
"It's easier than slaying monsters." Yu piped in as she appeared out of the trees and gave Isaac a sack of Cilian mushrooms. Grim just mumbled something incoherent but was along the lines of 'monster-slaying being easier than this shit.'
The newly formed party was currently gathering mushrooms inside Goj forest just west of the city. The journey wasn't that long as it only took a few minutes on horseback.
Once inside the forest where the Cilian mushrooms are, they decided to split up into two with Grim and Isaac in the first and Yu and George in the other.
Yu taught George how to pluck the mushroom carefully without destroying it. It required a gentle touch. Yu was clearly a great teacher because when George did it without guidance, he successfully got it done.
Grim and Isaac though...you know what happened.
Out of 40 tries, Grim managed to successfully pluck zero of them which hindered their progress.
"How many have you guys done?" Isaac asked as he counted the insides of the sack.
"Well I did 14 and George did 8 so in total, we did a total of 22." Yu informed Isaac. Suddenly, Grim chuckled loudly like a madman.
This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.
"Why even ask that to me?" Grim said in between chuckles. The chuckles then slowly turned into sobs as he wailed in sadness.
Isaac and Yu just watched him and moved on.
"Well, I did 10 so in total, we did 32." Isaac said before sighing. "We could've had half of it if not for Grim."
"Hehehe...wait, where's George?" The said person asked.
"Oh, George-san stayed first to pluck more mushrooms." Yu replied.
"Oh, well he better be careful. I heard that this place is infested with Chimeras."
"Oh yeah why is that?"
"Possibly something about too little food to eat." Grim said before standing up. "Hey, Yu!"
"What?" Isaac and Yu asked in unison.
"Not you, Yu!" Grim said.
"Me?" Isaac asked. Grim sighed, displeased.
"Let me rephrase that."
Meanwhile, in another spot with tons of mushrooms, George was collecting Cilian mushrooms while humming to a tune. He then heard rustling in the distance.
"Hey Yu, is that you?" George said before looking disgusted. "Oh god, that sentence sounded wrong."
The rustling didn't stop. Then a low growl was heard. This made George stop and stand up straight. He then turned around and looked at his surroundings.
"Shit, a monster." George mumbled.
Normally, when people see monsters, they run or scream or just run and scream. But George thought that the creature might be triggered by movements. So, he just stood silently while on a defensive stand, hands gripped the hilt of his sword.
Then out of nowhere, or somewhere which was in front of George, two beasts emerged.
The beasts both looked identical, having furry skins, long and sharp claws, and lastly, a terrifying face of a lion.
Though that was not all. The two also had scaly wings, a goat head on their body, and a snake for a tail.
"Oh shit." George mumbled, scared and frozen. "Manticores."
His statement made him curious.
"Or was it a Chimera?" George got out of his defensive stance to stand straight. "It's on the tip of my tongue yet I don't remember the name. Can you guys wait first?"
The Chimeras tilted their heads in confusion as they complied with his request.
"Was it, no that's a mermaid. A Sphinx? No, it doesn't look like that. A succ- nope. What was the name?" George was in a predicament. "Ugh, Mileena!"
A puff of smoke appeared in front of him as Mileena appeared.
She quickly looked around and saw the situation.
"Oh, master, you want me to-" Mileena was interrupted as George asked her a question.
"What are those creatures?"
"What?" She asked, dumbfounded.
"What are those creatures, are they mermaids? Manticores?"
"Y-you called me here so that I could answer your question?
"Yes."
"And you didn't call me because those life-threatening Chimeras are there to most likely kill you?"
"Yes."
"Ok, what was the question again?"
"Well, you just answered it."
"Answered what?"
"My question!"
"Which was?"
"Behind you!" George exclaimed. Mileena looked behind her and quickly teleported to avoid the incoming claw. To their surprise and dismay, one of the Chimeras started attacking Mileena. The other then started attacking George.
George meanwhile, took a step back.
Mileena teleported behind the Chimera.
"I'm sorry, what was the question?" She asked as she backed away from another claw.
"Are we really having this conversation now?!" George asked sword in hand, running away from the other Chimera.
"Let's continue it later!" Mileena said as she pointed a finger at the Chimera that was attacking her. She was about to cast a spell but was interrupted as the goat screamed loudly, making her jump in surprise.
The Chimera then jumped on Mileena, which she just teleported behind it again.
She was about to cast the same spell but stopped as she forgot something about Chimeras.
"Master!" She shouted as she rolled out of the way of the Chimera's attack.
"What!" George was still running.
"Chimeras can breathe fire! Spit venom! And are smart!" Mileena informed him.
As she said that, the Chimera attacking George spewed out fire from its mouth.
"Oh, Shit!" George shouted as he front flipped away from the fire.
