George yawned as the sun shun brightly at him. He lazily opened his eyes and scratched them. He slowly got up and looked at the bed, he saw that Grim was still asleep and he looked at where he was lying down to see Mileena sound asleep.
George then went to a near mirror to look at himself. His hair was still messy which made him sad. He then went downstairs. Whilst he was heading down, he heard two people chatting. He went down and saw that there were two versions of the receptionist of the inn. The two were sitting on a chair with a table in between
“Umm…why are there two of you?” He chimed in the two’s conversation.
“Oh, this is my sister! Alice!” The receptionist of the inn replied.
“Oh! You’re from the guild who was trying to register!” Alice said.
“Twins eh…”
“Yup!” The two said simultaneously.
“So that’s why I thought you were someone else…” George replied to the receptionist.
“Yes, the name’s Anna by the way!” Anna told George.
“Ok, Anna…do you have food here?”
“We have bread!” Anna replied.
“Oh.” George simply said, he then looked at the table and saw some paper and coins. “What’s that?”
“This?” Alice pointed to the papers. George nodded. “This is the things we have to pay.”
“Huh…taxes, eh?” The twins nodded. “Say, how much do you have to pay for?”
“Well, we need to pay 50 silver coins per month and it’s almost the end of March. We still haven’t paid for January and February. So, the debt is amounting.” Alice answered.
“Well, who collects the payments?”
“The IRS.” Anna answered next.
“The IRS?” George asked. Both twins nodded. “Is there a warning if you can’t pay?”
“Yes”
“How many?”
“3” Alice replied.
“How many warnings do you have now?”
“3” George sweatdropped at Alice’s answer.

“And what’s the penalty?”
“Jail for 10 years.” George was dumbstruck by what Alice said.
“T-there that strict huh?”
“Well, the IRS is known for its strictness. Many people even have a saying about them…’Better dead than imprisoned for tax evasion.’” Anna said, smiling.
‘Huh, the IRS is scary…’ George thought to himself, scared of the IRS.
“So how are you going to fix it?” George asked.
“Well, Alice makes 40 silver coins monthly. I make at least lesser than Alice. Since we need food and maintenance, we use that money and not pay the taxes.” Anna had a sad tone.
“Ok…also Alice, where can I register?” George asked.
“Oh, at the guild…I can take you there and you can sign it since my shift is going to start.” Alice said.
They then heard a creak from above them. After a second, a bed fell due to the broken wood. It was the bed that Grim was sleeping on. The bed landed a few feet away from them, only hitting some tables and chairs. Grim was fine as he yawned and got up. He looked at George, Alice, and Anne, noticing that they were looking at him weirdly, he asked.
“Why are y’all lookin at me like that?” He asked. George then bent down to Anna and whispered.
“You have maintenance?”
“Well, that wasn’t the one that needed fixing.” Anna replied embarrassingly.
After that whole encounter, Grim and George followed Alice to the guild where her shift was starting. They then began to sign it, got it processed, got their photo’s taken via magic, and put in an id which is the adventurer’s id, and got a small notebook with it. Once the whole process was over, Grim and George can now do quests.
-“Mileena was ordered by George to go back to Grim’s house.”-
George looked at his id, he saw that there was a bronze badge on it.
“Hey Alice, what’s the bronze badge?” he asked.
“Oh, that is to know one’s level.”
“There’s a leveling system? How does it work and how can you go higher?” George asked.
“Well, it’s simple, there are six levels. Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, Titanium, and Godsteel in ascending order. Being bronze is like being a beginner, you can do easy quests. To go up, you need to require the right number of quests done or you won’t go up. The requirement for a bronze-level adventurer to level up is 100 quests. For Silver, you need 80. For Gold, 50. For Diamond, 40. For Titanium 15. The highest rank is Godsteel. Note that each requirement lessens because the higher the level the harder, and only a few have reached Godsteel level.” Alice explained, too quickly.
“…” Both Grim and George were flabbergasted by the quickness.
“Come again?” George said dumbly.
“Oop! Sorry” Alice smiled embarrassingly. “I’m always too fast to explain that part.”
She then tried to explain it slower…
…
And that took five more tries until Alice could say it without speeding up.
“Ok, now that we have this…what quests do we do?” George said, pointing to their ids. The two went to a wall to the right which had many posters. It was dubbed, ‘The Quest Wall’ based on the sign.
“So…bronze, bronze, bro-there we go!” George skimmed through the wall and found one. He took the poster and looked at the details.
“Okay…now…we need to…eliminate wolves near a village!” George announced to Grim, to which he just sighed and smiled.
“Where’s the village?” Grim asked. George then went to a nearby map on the wall that was dubbed, ‘Map’ based on the sign.
“So, the village’s name is called…Nuremberg.” He looked at the map searching. “We are in…Midril…and…there!”
The place they were going was located southeast of the place, it was near a mountain range and was inside a forest.
Grim took the poster from George’s hand and looked at the reward. It was 250 silver coins. Grim cringed at the reward. It was not enough to travel to Mt. Harko. The two then went to Alice to get the poster officially theirs. After they signed it, they then went outside the guild to go on an adventure.
But first, their stomachs grumbled. The duo looked at each other and nodded. Meaning one thing…they needed to eat.
