Bai Jing, now six years old, was sitting in the courtyard of her villa, back resting on a tree. Flipping her hand she willed her Divine Sense to enter a small ornate ring on her finger, and two small manuals appeared on her hand that read
'Spatial Rings are still so cool!' Thought Bai Jing
Bai Jing had asked for a space ring with a small world or realm in it, like she had read in books, for her birthday. However, space rings of that tier are immortal level items and even Bai Kong has only heard rumors of such a thing existing.
'At least I got one with a ton of space in it. It should be a pretty high grade.' Bai Jing reminisced and thought back to the conversation she had earlier with her father.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bai Jing had recently reached the peak of the Qi Condensation Realm, the 9th layer of Qi condensation. She wanted to see if it was possible to reach a higher layer before breaking through to the Foundation Establishment stage. So Bai Jing had went to ask her father. To her surprise Bai Kong said that it was possible. Excited Bai Jing asked her father to teach her, but he said it was useless for her.
Bai Kong explained that while some can go beyond the 9 levels of Qi Condensation it is because of a cultivation manual, special physique, or some special item or opportunity. While there are a couple cultivation manuals that go beyond the 9th layer scattered around and I have even seen a few of them I won't let you learn them. The other methods for surpassing the 9th layer are extremely rare and only a handful of such people have accomplished it in the history of the planet.
Bai Jing was depressed upon hearing this.
Seeing Bai Jing's expression Bai Kong smiled and told his daughter some good news. "Although one can go beyond 9 levels, that does not mean that only 9 levels is weaker."
Bai Kong began educating Bai Jing. "The [Imperial Wind Sutra] I taught you is a special cultivation manual I found during my travels that perfectly suits you. Although it can only be cultivated to the Nascent Soul Realm it has a special ability and can to create a solid foundation.
Although important, both I and Old Fu still have a few cultivation methods that can create an equally strong Foundation. However, the other cultivation methods I have are not of the wind attribute and although the cultivation method Old Fu brought over when you broke through to Qi Condensation is one of the best wind attributed manuals the True Origin Sect has. The special ability of the [Imperial Wind Sutra] is extraordinary. Once it is cultivated to completion, the cultivator has a chance of awakening a wind type Divine Power!"
Pausing for a moment Bai Kong continued. "A scant few cultivation manuals allow one to awaken a Divine Power, but I have never heard of one able to do it as early as the Nascent Soul realm! Although it's only a chance, according to the manual, the higher grade one's Wind Spirit Root is, the higher the chance of awakening a Divine Power. With your transcendent grade Wind Spirit Root you should have a good chance of acquiring it. The increasing purity of your spirt power because of your physique should also facilitate your chances. Which makes this method perfect for you!"
Bai Kong announced with a smile and patted Bai Jing's head lovingly.
Then Bai Kong's face turned serious. He began to lecture Bai Jing on how to breakthrough to the Foundation Establishment realm.
"Listen well, to breakthrough the peak of Qi Condensation one needs to fill their dantian with Qi and condense their gaseous Qi into a liquid. Filling up their dantian as much as possible. Then use the liquid Qi to refine the dantian and wash your meridians to complete the breakthrough. Most cultivators use a Foundation Establishment Pill to breakthrough. Though, true geniuses and talented cultivators have no need for it."
"Most pills have impurities that become part of your Qi and body when taken. When breaking through having a higher Qi purity makes it easier to liquify your Qi as well as more Qi, stronger Qi, and better refine your dantian and wash your meridians. Creating a stronger foundation."
Taking a moment to see if Bai Jing understood, Bai Kong continued.
"As for you Jing'er, I want you to suppress your cultivation at the peak of Qi Condensation and just focus on slowly expanding your dantian and increasing your Qi purity until you can't anymore, then naturally breakthrough. In the meantime you should start training some martial skills. Go to the clan library to chose a footwork and attacking technique."
"This can be considered a test for you."
Bai Jing nodded in understanding and thanked her father. She headed to the clan's Main Library to choose two techniques.

Bai Jing first opened the
After a while she opened her eyes and stood up. She waved her hand forward a few times but only a breeze was made. Thinking for a moment she circulated her Qi and used her Divine Sense to observe her body and meridians, then she waved her hand again. This time a small and hazy crescent shaped blade of wind shot out a meter or two before it dissipated.
A happy expression appeared on her face and she continued practicing. Losing herself in her training for an unknown amount of time.
"Princess! It's time to for your meal!" Ying Ying called out to Bai Jing.
After realizing the capabilities of Divine Sense Bai Jing stopped requesting Ying Ying to call her Young Master. In fear of her parents hearing this and coming to various conclusions. So she settled for being called princess.
"Ah! Give me a minute and I will head on in." Bai Jing replied with a smile, sweat on her face.
"Are you okay? You never cultivate this much." Pai Ying asked confusedly.
"No problem, was just having some fun!" Bai Jing replied.
Pai Ying walked back into the villa.
'I'm sad that I never practiced any martial skills before this. That was awesome, much better than cultivating.' Bai Jing thought, wiping the sweat of her face.
Bai Jing thought over the training she just completed. 'It seems I still have a lot more training to do. I only obtained a mediocre grasp on the technique and I haven't read

'I chose two wind attribute technique manuals because they are easier to cultivate because of my wind spirit root plus the [Imperial Wind Sutra] and my spirit root boosts the power of wind type techniques to some degree. But still it's much harder to cultivate skills than I thought, and they're both only low level skills!'
Bai Jing used her Divine Sense to pick up the
Thinking back to when Bai Jing's Father described her physique. 'Father said that my Sacred Grand Pure Physique should be able to purify all types of energy in my body including Divine Sense. It must be what he mentioned before about physiques growing with you and becoming stronger with your cultivation and age.'
Bai Jing hoped her innate physique would become stronger when she broke through to Foundation Establishment. Although Purer Divine Sense does not increase it's range, it dose make one's Divine Sense more sensitive, easier to control, and exert more strength through it. Also having purer Divine Sense means having a purer soul which has its own benefits.
Normally when you breakthrough to Foundation Establishment your Divine Sense reaches a hundred meters. Bai Jing wondered if her Divine Sense will reach three-hundred meters when she breaks through?
Some of the more useful methods of Divine Sense are controlling small items, increase control over spiritual energy, training manuals/techniques, and scanning your surroundings. It can also identify another persons cultivation base as long as they are weaker than you or around the same level.
After Bai Jing cleaned up she entered the villa to do one of her favorite things. Eat!
Bai Jing sat down at the table with Ying Ying and Pai An. Her parents seemed to be busy with something. At her parent's and Pai An's cultivation stage, they had no need to eat anymore but the still tend to sit down with Bai Jing when she eats and eat with her in enjoyment.
Bai Jing began to engorge herself on the food. The food in the villa was typically prepared by Uncle Fang and occasionally Pai An. Uncle Fang was the family's steward, he did anything asked and is multifaceted. After finishing the meal, which contained an unknown meat Bai Jing had not tasted before, she asked Pai An what it was. Pai An replied that she did not know as Steward Fang prepared the meal.
Uncle Fang and Pai Ying were the only two servants that took care of Bai Jing and her family.
Satiated Bai Jing went to find her Uncle Fang. However unable to find Uncle Fang Bai Jing softly called out. "Uncle Fang!"
Uncle Fang fazed into existence right in front of Bai Jing without any movements or sounds. 'Uncle Fang is as cool as always. He's a perfect assassin type!' Thought Bai Jing.
Uncle Fang is a middle aged man, still black pupils, with medium length black hair slicked back into a small bun and a short beard. There were a few grey streaks in his hair. He had a very subdued aura and one could hardly sense his existence, he would never produce a sound unless he speaks or knocks. His most distinguishing feature however, would be his missing left arm, gone below the shoulder.
Bai Jing had once asked Uncle Fang if there were any pills or medicine that could regrow a limb. Uncle Fang told her that there are a quite a few but there was no need to worry about him. As he could regrow the arm at anytime he wanted to but preferred not to. Hearing this Bai Jing knew he had a story, but decided to ask another time.
"How can I help you Young Miss?" Uncle Fang calmly asked with a slight smile.
"That red meat you made was so delicious what was it from?" Enquired Bai Jing.
"Are you sure you want to know? I believe last time you said you did not want to know what creature the meat came from anymore?" Uncle Fang asked keeping the slight smile.
'Oh ya...' Bai Jing thought with a shudder not wanting to recall the silhouette of the creature, or it would be better to say insect, one of her meals came from.
Upon seeing Bai Jing's love for meat and food, her mother suggested that Uncle Feng show and talk about the creature and it's abilities. It was important to know about the various creatures and plants that exist. Every cultivator needed to learn about it, and it was good to start young considering the sheer amount of information.
However after one meal Uncle Fang was showing a qi projection and talking about the demonic insect the meat was from. Causing Bai Jing to be disturbed and want to vomit. Bai Jing proceed to beg her mother to stop the education. Which she eventually agreed to.
"It-It's not an... is it?" Bai Jing hesitatingly asked looking meek.
"No, Young Miss Jing the meat was from Spiritual Fire Tiger. I dropped by Sky Clear City the other day and chanced upon a new store that specializes in selling various exotic demonic beast meat. So I picked up a few for you to try." Uncle Fang said with a slight chuckle.
"Yay! Thank you Uncle Fang, I can't wait to try the others!" Bai Jing happily shouted and clutched Uncle Fang's hand with both of hers, excitedly shaking his hand up and down.
"Can you bring me to that store next time you go to the city? I want to pick out something!" Bai Jing pleaded.
"It won't be a problem as long as Master or Mistress agrees to it." Uncle Fang nodded.
Sky Clear City is a large city under the Bai Clans control. It is the closest city to the Bai Clan's main residence. Bai Jing thought the Bai Clan's residence was huge. It spanned mountains and rivers, and is bigger than a large city back on earth. However, Sky Clear City was like a country in itself.
Recalling Bai Jing's first visit to the city.
Bai Jing along with her mother and Ying Ying used the Bai Clan's teleportation formation to arrive at the center of the city. Bai Jing, wanted to see the scale of the city so her mother took her a few thousand meters in the sky to have a look and Bai Jing could see no end to the city. Buildings and plots of land were everywhere and saw various distinct sections of the city.
There was much to do in the city. While exploring, Bai Jing had found a small auction house that had a live auction going on. She participated in the auction using some spirit stones her mother gave her. Bai Jing won an unknown ore in hopes of it being a mysterious treasure and acquiring a lucky chance. Alas, it turned out to only be a decent ore for refining a weapon, but it wasn't worth much more than what she had paid.
Spirit stones are the basic currency for cultivators. Spirit stones are gem-like and come in a variety of colors, dependent on the grade and type of spirit energy contained. The are typically small and usually range from the size of a grape to an egg.
Cultivators will use spirit stones to absorb the spirit energy within them or as a power source for a formation or object. Bai Jing has never used a spirit stone before, as her courtyard has extremely dense spirit energy and she can quickly absorb it.
Other cultivators will typically absorb spirit stones if they have poor talent, are in an area with low spirit energy, or need to quickly refill their spirit energy.
Unsatisfied with the result of the auction Bai Jing found a shop called The Mysterious Hall. It dealt with selling various strange or unidentifiable items, a favorite place for gamblers and opportunists.
Their Hall's products included strange ores, artifacts, plants, creatures, and other unidentifiable items. She tried to use her Divine Sense to peer into the items but was unable to find out anything or her Divine Sense was rejected. She purchased a few items and spent more than she did at the auction.
The rest of the visit consisted of some sightseeing before returning back to the clan.
Upon reaching the clan she tested the items she obtained and ended up breaking some of them trying to find their secrets and asking her parents about the rest, only to find them to be junk.
'Impossible aren't I supposed to have super luck!' Thought Bai Jing.
Unwilling to give up Bai Jing wanted to go back for more, but her mother stepped in and stopped her, then proceeded to forbid her from going there again. Distraught at this Bai Jing resorted to using her special skills,
Overall Bai Jing had enjoyed her first visit to the city. However, there was one thing about her visit that she despised. The gawking of the people in the city. It was different than the attention and stares she received within the clan. Bai Jing got used to and even liked the attention she received in the clan.
The difference was that in the city there were more and various types of people, they would point, comment, whisper, among other things about her, her mother, and even Pai Ying. Although Pai Ying was Bai Jing's personal maid, she is considered to be one of the best talents in the new generation of the Pai Clan.
There would be a commotion everywhere they went. It seemed as if everyone knew of them somehow. Bai Jing did not go to the city too often because of this.
