Chapter 11: To The Sect

After a while the sky turned dark and Bai Jing woke up from within the bath.

"Ahh, that was soo good! I need to keep a spare tub in my spatial ring from now on, incase I need to travel outside once I enter the sect." Bai Jing murmured to herself.

Standing up from the bath she woke Cutie up, who was napping on her chest, gently placing the snake on her ear.

Looking behind, she noticed Ying Ying sitting down, still cultivating.

'Looks like she's about to breakthrough to Late-stage Foundation Establishment. I'll head on down first and enjoy myself.'

Bai Jing walked out of the bath, drying herself off with Qi.

Before putting on a robe she walked to the mirror and preformed a couple poses in front of it. Stars seemed to shine in her eyes as she stared at her reflection.

'I just keep getting better and better with age! I'm so nice and slim now, much sexier. I wonder when I should stop using the [Maturation Rejuvenation Scripture]?'

"Cutie! How am I? Don't you think I'm the most beautiful woman in the world?" Bai Jing said while nudging Cutie.

The poor little snake could only nod its head in acknowledgement.

'Aww you're so cute! I just want to squeeze you to death! To think I was never a snake person in the past.' Bai Jing thought in twisted adoration.

Cutie shivered, sensing Bai Jing's thoughts as she gently pat and rubbed the Cutie's head with her finger.

Finished admiring herself, Bai Jing got dressed in a loose white robe and walked out of her room, refreshed and in high spirits.

Upon exiting her room Bai Jing discovered Bai Chao and a cute little girl sitting down, conversing near her room.

"Sister! I was waiting for you! How was your training with father? Are you even stronger now? Did you reach the Nascent Soul realm? Can you take me flying faster now?" Bai Chao rapidly fired questions while getting up and running towards Bai Jing.

The little girl following closely behind him.

"I don't want to talk about my training. However I feel sorry for you little Chao." Bai Jing sighed and spoke up.

"Eh why?"

"You are going to inherit Father's legacy so he will surely train you much harsher than me. You will also have to train much harder to make up for your spirit root. Especially, if you want to catch up to me in the future." Bai Jing spoke with a pitiful tone.

"Eh? Should I start training soon then? What will I do?" Bai Chao wondered.

"Don't worry too much I'm sure Father has some plans for you. Anyway you will certainly catch up to me eventually. I'm still at Mid-Stage Core Formation, though I am close to the peak. The higher the cultivation level, the longer it takes to advance so I am sure you can catch up later." Bai Jing comforted her brother, squatting down to ruffle his hair.

Then gripping her brother's shoulder she moved him to her side, so they were both facing the nervous looking little girl.

"Now who is this we have here?" Bai Jing asked, looking intrigued by the small girl.

"That's little Hua. She's my personal maid from Mother's clan." Bai Chao spoke happily, looking at the girl.

"Oh really? Now that I take a good look she certainly looks like Old Ying when she was little." Bai Jing wondered aloud.

Looking at the little girl with short black hair and a bob hair cut. She had one green eye, her left eye being more of a teal. This Pai Hua had the same big pudgy cheeks and short stature Ying Ying once had.

"Umm, I-It's nice to met you Young Miss Jing. Elder Sis Ying is a close cousin of mine." Pai Hua timidly spoke to Bai Jing.

"Ah is that so?" Bai Jing replied while reaching out and lightly pinching Pai Hua's cheek.

'Ah she really reminds me of Old Ying. In the future I can already tell that she will grow up to be a bigger beauty than her.' Bai Jing wondered.

'Hmm, before I leave for the sect I must educate this little brother of mine. I mustn't allow him to fail, like I once did.' Bai Jing felt moved thinking of this.

Bai Jing stopped rubbing Pai Hua's cheeks upon seeing her face turning red.

Standing up, Bai Jing picked up her brother by the chest, holding him under her arm like one would a ball.

"Little Chao before I leave for the sect I will teach you some important things. However, you must never reveal or teach what I tell to anyone else. Do you understand?" Bai Jing spoke looking serious.

Bai Chao looked startled before lifting up his head and hurriedly replying.

"Really? Don't worry sister I swear I won't mention it or teach anyone! I won't disappoint you!"

Bai Chao looked surprised and happy.

'I'm such a good elder Sister.' Bai Jing thought with a sigh.

"But Sister when will you leave for the sect?" Bai Chao spoke with a frown.

"Follow us lil Hua." Bai Jing said while starting to walk toward the dining area with her brother.

"Father said he would get Uncle Fu to come pick me up in a month. I'll hang out with you a lot till then. I have a bunch of shopping to do in the city before I leave. I'll take you to some fun places over there." Bai Jing had a small smirk on her face as she spoke.

"..."

Bai Chao only nodded slightly at this, from underneath Bai Jing's arm.

.....

Soon the three arrived at the dining area.

Bai Jing was dazzled by the feast, spread out on the table. There were all her favorite foods, along with a few new dishes. Her mouth started salivating at the sight before her.

Recalling her year of training where the only good food she had were the snacks Ying Ying had prepared for her. She could only sigh in regret.

'I refuse to believe I am that bad of a chef. I bet that old man purposely brought me to areas where the Demon Beasts and insects were inedible or difficult to cook.' Bai Jing thought with resentment.

After Bai Jing's failure to make any good tasting food she relied on her knowledge of plants to find a few spirit fruits and medicinal herbs that were edible and tasty, to quell her cravings. Besides that, she would cultivate to forget about the want for food.

Soon others seemed to have received a message and came to the dining area to join the three. Everyone but Ying Ying, who was breaking through, appeared.

Bai Jing greatly enjoyed her first good meal in a while. Eating voraciously, she discussed some of her training during the meal and introduced Cutie to everyone.

Bai Jing also pleaded with her mother for a large sum of spirit stones and gold to go on a few shopping sprees before she left.

'It's so much fun to shop when you're rich!'

Over the next month Bai Jing would often go to Sky Clear City to buy and place orders for an assortment of things. Whenever she recalled something she would head to the city with either her Mother and/or Brother. If her mother did not come with her she would typically get Uncle Fang or a few Bai Clan guards to go with her.

Even though Bai Jing was reckless within the Clan. That was because she knew she was absolutely safe here.

Outside however, she knew that there were probably quite a few enemies that would like her dead and had a slight degree of paranoia.

Bai Jing also started studying formations again upon her return. Although just low level and useful ones.

She found that if she had known some simple formations, her life in the wild would have been much better.

Bai Jing also practiced techniques more often, mainly her and various wind attribute techniques.

Eventually one month passed and a familiar figure showed up at the Bai Clan.

"Hahaha, it's finally time!" Jiang Fu appeared outside Bai Jing's villa in a jovial mood, a wide smile plastered on his face.

Standing outside the villa was Bai Jing as well as everyone else who resided within the villa, except Ying Ying.

Bai Jing was bidding goodbye to everyone and was currently prying Bai Chao, who had tears in his eyes away from her waist.

"Now now, don't cry. Next time I see you, you will have started cultivating already. So listen to Father and become stronger, aim to do the impossible and surpass your genius sister." Bai Jing looked serene as she spoke.

"Mhmmm!" Bai Chao only nodded his head and squeezed out a response.

Bai Jing's expression became more serious all of a sudden and sent a secret voice transmission to her Brother.

Finished, she shot a wink at her Brother and took a glanced at Pai Hua next to him. She turned away leaving Bai Chao.

As Bai Jing approached her mother, Bai Ting took out a jade and wooden bracelet, handing it to Bai Jing.

"Always make sure to wear that bracelet. It can attack and defend. Only use it if you're in danger." Bai Ting caringly spoke.

After speaking Bai Ting embraced her daughter and sent her a voice transmission.

'Remember what I taught you. Don't run wild, and don't get pregnant before you bring him over to see me first!'

'... Yes.' Was the only response Bai Jing could send back.

Her eyes squinted and a slight frown on her lips. Thoughts of confessing her sexuality appearing.

'I need to bring home a girl next time so this can stop. Maybe I should just tell her I only like girls now... nah I don't know how they will react to the news. Revealing it could be good or bad. Father is a stickler for clan rules and tradition.'

After the two separated, Bai Ting gave the small snake resting on her daughter's ear a nudge.

"You better keep watch over and protect my Jing'er, little Zi." Exhorted Bai Ting.

The snake nodded its head as its tongue flickered.

Little Zi was the name Bai Ting helped to come up with for the snake.

The snake was originally only around a month or two old when it arrived at the Bai Clan and its intelligence was just developing. It could now better communicate its thoughts to Bai Jing.

Dissatisfied with the name Cutie it demanded its name changed.

So its name became Little Zi, and then Zi proclaimed itself to be a male. Bai Jing still called him Cutie occasionally, as a nickname.

Finished interacting with her mother Bai Jing walked in front of Bai Kong, waiting for him to speak.

Bai Kong looked dissatisfied yet concerned as he handed over a necklace with a jade pendant. On the pendant was the carving of a five clawed dragon.

"Train hard, as long as you wear this you won't die. Just leave a drop of blood on the pendant,"

After speaking, Bai Kong only stood there impassively.

Bai Jing raised her eyebrows and a drop of blood was excreted from her finger, onto the pendant. The pendant let out a shimmer when it absorbed the blood, then returned to normal.

Bai Jing then leaned down and begun to wrap the necklace around her left foot. A small smirk adorned her face as she did so.

Bai Kong's face looked dark as he watched her actions, yet said nothing.

Seeing no other response from her father, Bai Jing paused and slapped her head. Taking the necklace off her foot she put it around her neck instead.

She then proceeded to put two bracelets that appeared from within her space ring around her ankles.

"I almost forgot that I bought these." Bai Jing said while shaking her feet and the two bracelets shrunk to snuggly fit her ankles.

Seeing Bai Kong still standing there not doing anything, Bai Jing gave him a quick hug and left.

Done bidding her farewell to everyone she arrived next to the jovial Jiang Fu.

"Where's little Ying I thought she was coming as well?" Jiang Fu enquired.

"She should be here soon. She went to the Pai Clan to bid farewell to her parents."

Ying Ying would often go visit her parents. They would also occasionally come by the Clan to visit.

Not long after, Ying Ying arrived at the villa. She bowed to everyone and stood next to Bai Jing.

"Are you two ready?"

"Yes!" the two replied.

Jiang Fu was nodding happily.

"Sister Ting, Brother Kong, don't worry I will take good care of little Jing!" Jiang Fu exclaimed while slapping his chest, giving them an assuring look.

Bai Kong nodded looking solemn while Bai Ting sent a few threats via voice transmission.

"Lets go!" Jiang Fu dramatically waved his hand upward, walking off towards the Bai Clan's Teleportation Hall.

The two girls slowly followed behind Jiang Fu. The rest of the family watching as they walk off.

.....

Watching his sister leave, Bai Chao seemed to recall something as his eyes jerked upward.

He turned towards little Hua next to him and said something to her. As he spoke he looked determined, his back straight and chest out.

After speaking he lightly held little Hua's hand for a moment before walking to his Father.

Looking at Bai Chao's back as he walk away, Pai Hua looked perplexed but happy, a slight blush on her cheeks.

Bai Jing had her Divine Sense spread out watching over her brother as she left, seemingly waiting for something.

Seeing Bai Chao's actions she retracted her Divine Sense with a slight smile, thinking to herself.

'Good as expected of my brother, I taught you well. I'm sure now that you won't fail like me.'

Arriving before Bai Kong, Bai Chao spoke determinedly.

"Father I want to start cultivating and surpass Sister in the future!"

Bai Kong stared at his son's determined face for a moment before nodding gratifyingly.

"Good! Be warned, I'll be much harsher on you than I ever was with your sister. You're less talented than her so you have to put in multitudes more work than she ever did. I have a few tests for you before I teach you how to cultivate. Get a good rest tonight, I will come get you in the morning." Bai Kong looked proud as he spoke.

"Yes Father!"
