Turning her gaze back towards Jiang Chen who was now calmly staring at her, Bai Jing's small smile slowly faded away as she began to speak.

"So you're Jiang Chen?" Bai Jing paused for a moment, scanning him up and down.

"Uncle Fu mentioned you before, praising you so much, he even tried to convince me that you would be a suitable "partner" for me. I admit you are quite handsome but..."

Bai Jing extended her hand and fingers out, just underneath Jiang Chen's chin, as if she was going to lift his chin. As her had was paused underneath Jiang Chen's chin she couldn't help slightly retract her lips and moisten them with the tip of her pink tongue.

Jiang Chen's eyes widened and he couldn't help but swallow the saliva accumulating in his mouth. However, in the end Bai Jing retracted her frozen hand gracefully, as she did so one of her fingers happened to just barely slide across Jiang Chen's chin.

Jiang Chen couldn't help but take in a deep breath at the feeling of Bai Jing's slight touch, his body trembling slightly as if an electric shock traveled through him and his heart skipped a beat.

Meanwhile the surrounding disciples went into crazy discourse, hearing Bai Jing's words and her actions. They were filled with a variety emotions such as hatred, envy, and sadness. They were also discussing Jiang Fu and his intentions, weather he really was trying to set Bai Jing and Jiang Chen up as a couple.

Yue tightened her grip on Jiang Chen's clothes and nudged closer to him, her face looking wary.

"That's not enough to garner my attention so sorry, I'm not interested. Maybe in the future you can show me why Uncle Fu thought so highly of you and change my mind. Is that okay?" Bai Jing finished her speech.

Ying Ying, who was standing behind Bai Jing, stared at her back in utter confusion.

'I thought I understood the Young Miss, but every now and then she does something so random and unexpected.'

Many of the surrounding disciples felt slightly better after hearing Bai Jing finish speaking but they still felt threatened by Jiang Chen and the thought of the peerless beauty, their Goddess, Bai Jing, whom they were smitten by and had recently set their eyes on as a figure to worship and dream about but haven't even begun to properly do so was almost taken away from them.

The dreams they had upon first seeing her visage, although unrealistic, were almost immediately snatched from them and brought a palpable sense of fear and danger, creating animosity towards Jiang Chen in their hearts.

They disciples were filled with hatred and distrust towards Jiang Chen, yet their dreams and wants toward Bai Jing were also strengthened. They saw hope for themselves, seeing how Bai Jing had interacted with Jiang Chen so closely. She didn't seem like the aloof unobtainable beauty they initially thought she was.

Many disciples felt that they should do all they could to get in the good graces of the Vice Sect Master, after seeing the sway he had on Bai Jing. Hoping that a mere mention of themselves from him would cause their new Goddess to speak and interact with them. Meanwhile, many of the female disciples felt worry and admiration for Bai Jing, though a couple also felt the same as the male disciples.

Off to the side, Shang Jun's eyes were squinted and his pupils moved around in contemplation as he looked at the interaction between Bai Jing and Jiang Chen.

Seeing that Bai Jing had stopped speaking and was now silently staring down at himself impassively, Jiang Chen stuck out his chest and straightened his back, attempting to make himself as tall as possible to be at eye level with Bai Jing. Staring into her big, beautiful amber eyes, a confident almost arrogant smile appearing on his face as he spoke.

'Thank you Crazy Old Fu, next time I see you I'll call you Uncle Fu like you wanted. After all, my wife's Uncle is my Uncle!' Jiang Chen thought appreciatively.

"Senior Jiang Fu is truly wise and astute, beyond anyone I have ever met before. He once told me I have the potential to stand at the top of the world and if I were to join the True Origin Sect ascending to be an Immortal would only be a matter of time. I believed in my own ability and his words, so I came here from my homeland, the Mortal Continent, to prove it."

"So if Senior Jiang Fu says that I am suitable to be your partner I believe that he saw something in both of us that will tie our fate together. You may not think much of me now but in the future, a future nearer than you think, it wont be a question whether I'm worthy of you, but the other way around! The surrounding disciples however, looked towards Jiang Chen in utter contempt and disgust.

"Haha, trash that doesn't know his limits!"

"Just a frog in a well!"

"He's insane!"

"I bet this country bumpkin doesn't know the immensity of the Goddesses talent!"

"Let him despair when he finds out the gulf between them is not something that he or others can overcome."

Shang Jun was also looking at Jiang Chen like he was an utter fool.

At the outside of the ring of disciples gathered was the Deng brothers who were looking toward Jiang Chen.

Shaking his head in derision, Deng Gui turned towards his little brother and said, "I changed my mind, even if that Jiang Cheng has his secrets it won't amount to much now. You can disregard my previous words and go after him now, just be wary and abide by the Sect rules. Also act smart and try not to let him know you are the one acting against him, use the fact that he has just made a bunch of enemies out of these disciples and soon the whole sect will know of it, use it against him."

Finished Deng Gui paid no more attention to Jiang Chen and walked away.

Deng You behind, was ecstatic and happily walked behind his brother.

"Don't worry brother I'll listen to you. I'll be sure to be the one to make him suffer!" Deng You was laughing happily.

Looking into the distance, Deng Gui spoke once more without looking towards his brother.

"You may never get the chance."

"Eh?"

In the distance two young men in Inner Disciple uniforms were flying over with happy smiles on their faces.

All Bai Jing responded to Jiang Chen's statement with was two scrunched eyebrows.

Ying Ying was also angered by Jiang Chen's statement, she looked at him with a glare and took a step forward so she was standing right beside Bai Jing.

"You!!!" Ying Ying spoke with a high pitched growl but quickly received a voice transmission from Bai Jing that caused her to be quiet but still look toward Jiang Chen with a scowl.

'Hmmm, who does this man think he is to say such a thing to the Young Miss, and did Senior Jiang Fu really try to set them up? Should I report this to the Missus? 'Interesting, such baseless and overflowing confidence, he definitely has some huge secret. I'll have to find out more about him from Uncle Fu, maybe he has an idea as to what his secret is.'

Looking towards the ordinary looking black ring Jiang Chen wore on his finger, Bai Jing wondered.

'That ring... is it special, some sort of Grandpa maybe?

Then recalling her own reincarnation experience she wondered, 'Are there other ways of reincarnating? Could he have reincarnated with a good providence or did he have special karma and reincarnated with his memories. He might even be the reincarnation of some mighty figure, I heard that reincarnation techniques exist.'

Bai Jing briefly spread her Divine Sense over the surrounding disciples, capturing their reactions.

'This Jiang Chen looks like a typical horn dog that would collect a huge harem of ignorant and impressionable girls left and right, as a woman how could I stand for this. I must help them both by poaching some of his potential harem members for myself, I wont be too cruel, just one or two will do! The Inner Disciple with longer black hair chose a random outer disciple and asked him to describe what happened in detail.

"Of course Senior Brother, what happened was that...." The disciple hurriedly started to explain the sequence of events that happened.

Looking at the surrounding disciples gossiping away. Jiang Chen invited Bai Jing to join them.

"Senior Sister Bai Jing we were about to go and find a residence for ourselves. Would it be too much trouble to show us around the sect and maybe recommend somewhere for us to stay?" Jiang Chen was now quite calm, no longer nervous around Bai Jing.

Bai Jing's raised her eyebrows and shook her head in refusal.

"Unfortunately I have something to do so I am unable to help you with that. However... I do know of a place to stay but, only one of you could stay there."

"Only one..." Jiang Chen shook his head.

"Yes, I just received a mountain for myself and only me and Ying Ying here are staying there. I don't like having many people around so I would only be comfortable with one other person."

At this point in time, out of the blue, two waves of dense killing intent engulfed Jiang Chen. One bloody and oppressively, the other sharp and invasive.

Jiang Chen immediately went on full alert a saber appearing in his hand and a blurry image of a wheel appearing behind his back. Yue was frightened and took a few steps away.

Hanyi and Fatty were startled and looked around in confusion.

"Jiang Chen what happened?" They called out.

Jiang Chen looked grave as he looked at the two figures releasing dense killing intent directed towards him, he was about to speak out towards the two young men but before he could Bai Jing raised her hand without turning around.

Bai Jing had already sensed the two's arrivals, they were Yan Chen and Yan Gu. She quickly sent a voice transmission towards the two that eventually caused them to slowly put away their killing intent, Yan Gu took a bit longer to retract his bloody killing intent. After they fully retracted it they still glared at Jiang Chen with twisted expressions on their face.

Jiang Chen let out a breath of air and the image behind his back slowly disappeared.

As Jing Chen came off his high alert, Bai Jing sent him a voice transmission.

'Don't mind them, I wont let them harm you. You can rest easy, even if they try something I'll protect you.' Bai Jing finished her transmission with a subtle wink.

However instead of being grateful, Jiang Chen frowned.

'How can I receive the protection of a woman, my soon to be woman. I should be the one doing the protecting!' Jiang Chen put away his saber and clenched his fists furiously.

Bai Jing's eyes quickly flashed with blue and disappeared.

'Indignant and frustrated huh? He really seems like a cliché stereotype.' Bai Jing thought.

Turning her head towards Yue who was walking back to Jiang Chen, concerned. Bai Jing spoke up, "Everything is alright now. How about you Yue, would you like to stay with me? I'm more comfortable having another woman stay on my mountain, how about it? Wouldn't it be better to stay with me than a bunch of men?" Bai Jing asked, the edge of her lips curled up slightly looking kind.

Pausing in surprise, Yue was a bit hesitant but eventually shook her head in refusal saying "I want to stay near Big Brother Chen!" She bit her lips and grabbed onto Jiang Chen's uniform again after saying so.

Jiang Chen pat Yue's head with a smile.

"You should reconsider Yue, it would be good for you to stay near Senior Sister, she could help you with your cultivation and any questions you have, it would also be safer to stay with her." Jiang Chen couldn't help but glance towards Yan Chen and Yan Gu.

Yue just shook her head in refusal again, one could tell from her face that she had no intention of changing her mind.

'Not bad, I really want to steal her now!' Bai Jing enjoyed Yue's stubborn reaction.

At this moment Shang Zhi inserted himself into the conversation.

Bai Jing intended to Ignore the fatty but after a moment of inspiration she looked the fatty up and down before speaking impassively.
