"Okay." Bai Jing responded, her eyes flashing blue once again.
"Of course not, I- w-wait what!" Shang Zhi was beyond startled, he didn't expect Bai Jing to actually agree.
He initially intended to engrain himself in the conversation and leave some sort of memorable/humorous impression of himself on Bai Jing. He never expected her to agree after she previously said that she preferred a woman to stay with her.
Jiang Chen and the rest were also surprised.
Jiang Chen eyes widened and his head shot back a little, he felt regretful as if he lost an opportunity.
"But, but..." Shang Zhi was unsure of what he should say next.
The surrounding disciples were even more surprised, they were ok with Bai Jing asking Yue to stay with her, just a bit jealous. But now envy, jealousy, and discontentment raged through their bodies toward Shang Zhi. Malicious intents from the crowd started to cover him.
The entire crowd had erupted into shouts and murmurs.
"This isn't fair. Curse that Fatty!"
"Do you think I could kill that Fatty and then disguise as him?"
"Lucky! Why didn't I think of asking?!"
"Maybe I should also ask?"
As the disciples were in an uproar and Shang Zhi was stumbling over his words, killing intent erupted and covered Shang Zhi.
Shang Zhi froze in panic looking towards the source of the two killing intents, seeing the ugly faces of Yan Gu and Chen. Jiang Chen also turned his gaze towards the two.
Before Shang Zhi could process his thoughts Bai Jing turned her head towards the two Yan's giving them an upset look before turning her head back towards Shang Zhi.
The killing intent slowly dissipated from around Shang Zhi, the bloody killing intent taking a bit longer to leave.
"Sorry about that, my friends are a little overprotective of me. Don't worry about it." Bai Jing spoke to Shang Zhi, sounding slightly exasperated.
Shang Zhi calmed himself and contemplated joining Bai Jing, he would be lying if he didn't have a few fantasies about Bai Jing after she agreed to him staying with her, but he knew his own looks and worth well and knew hers even more so. He looked towards her more with admiration, the way one would look at a beautiful painting that couldn't be touched, rather than lust like most others.
Shang Zhi couldn't help but look towards Jiang Chen to see his new brother's reaction.
Jiang Chen was initially a bit unhappy and confused but quickly calmed down. Recalling his earlier words and Bai Jing's attitude he felt that even if he had asked to join her, she would reject him. He also thought that it would be convenient to visit this Senior Sister of his more often if Fatty stayed near her, he would have plenty of excuses to visit and chat with her in the future. Plus Fatty would have some backing in the sect and knowing his troubles, it would greatly help him.
Seeing Fatty looking towards himself, Jiang Chen gave him a reassuring look and smile along with a nod.
Looking back at Bai Jing's beautiful face, Shang Zhi spoke up.
"R-really. Can I really stay on your mountain?" Shang Zhi looked a bit worried.
"What, were you not serious?" Bai Jing frowned a little.
"N-No I am dead serious it would be my pleasure to stay with Senior Sister Bai Jing!" Shang Zhi hurriedly cupped his hands and bowed.
"Good that settles it."
Saying so, Bai Jing slapped her sect token and both hers and Fatty's let out a glow.
"You still need to get it registered at the Admissions Hall. Did you have any other questions?"
"No Senior Sister I was about to head there anyway, I promised Brother Chen and the others that I would help them find a residence. Can they really not also stay on your mountain?" Fatty asked with a pleading look.
Bai Jing shook her head and spoke, "I don't like having many people around so no, at least not now, maybe later when I get to know them better."
Bai Jing swept her gaze over Jiang Chen and Yue, completely ignoring Hanyi.
Jiang Chen smiled. "Good, I look forward to the future Senior Sister Bai!"
"Mmmmm, now I also have something to do, Fatty you can meet me at the Beast Hall if you don't take too long. Else just find it yourself."
'Fatty... why is that always my only nickname?'
"Yes Senior Sister I'll be quick, farewell." Shang Zhi said his goodbyes.
Bai Jing just nodded her head while Ying Ying stared at him with a frown.
The others in the group also bid Bai Jing goodbye.
Jiang Chen took one final, long look at Bai Jing's expressionless face before turning around and following Shang Zhi, but not before taking a quick glance at the two Yan's who were now walking towards Bai Jing.
Off to the side Shang Jun silently stared at the departing Shang Zhi with a thoughtful expression. He wanted to talk with Bai Jing but noticing the two young men walking towards her, he just nodded his head and quietly left.
Turning around Bai Jing smiled toward the two Yan's which turned their grim expressions into smiles.
"It's been a while Brother Chen, Brother Gu, I have missed you. Congratulations on breaking through to Core Formation and becoming Inner Disciples, but I'm surprised you joined the sect aswell."
Yan Chen spoke up first, with a gentle tone and smile on his face.
"Sister Jing, I am ecstatic to see you again. I heard that you had joined the True Origin Sect so I knew I had to as well. I did not want to stay so far from you anymore and this was my chance."
"Oh, I'm glad I have a friend that cares about me so much. I'm reassured."
'A friend that cant wait to get into my skirt.' Bai Jing smirked slightly.
Yan Gu was getting agitated seeing Yan Chen elicit a smirk from Bai Jing.
"Where is your residence? It would be good if our Mountains were near each other." Bai Jing asked.
Before Yan Gu could answer, Yan Gu stepped forward, looking right into Bai Jing's eyes.

"Alas Brother Chen didn't quite make the cut during his examination and was unable to receive a mountain, unlike me!"
An awful expression appeared on Yan Chen's face.
The cutoff for becoming an Inner Disciple at the Core Formation stage is to have reached that level before 30 years of age. Such a feat truly wasn't too difficult considering the disciples in The True Origin Sect were the crème of the crop. However, what really stopped many from being an Inner Disciple at that point were the examinations one had to undergo. Not only did one have to have an incredibly firm foundation but also an array of skills and knowledge, as well as doing good in the practical exam. There were some exceptions to the rule like meritorious actions for the sect, but such things were very rare.
Then to also receive a Mountain on top of that, not even many of the Nascent Soul stage Inner Disciples receive one. Usually only Disciples with Supreme Grade Spirit Roots qualify. Which Yan Gu has, Yan Chen on the other hand has a Top-Heaven Grade Spirit Root. He was actually very close to getting a mountain for himself but it seems that he broke through to Core Formation later than Yan Gu and has not completely consolidated his cultivation or skills or he would have his own mountain.
Inner Disciples have one other chance at qualifying for a mountain of their own and Yan Chen intends on doing so when he's finished consolidating.
"Oh really, what a shame. Well in that case do you need a place to stay Brother Chen. Maybe you'd like to stay with me?" Bai Jing asked with a gleam in her eye.
A happy expression immediately popped up on Yan Chen's face, but was once again was interrupted by Yan Gu in a hurry, before he could say anything.
"No need, no need! I offered Brother Chen to stay with me but he vehemently refused stating, 'The only place I will stay at is my own Mountain!'"
"Ah, Is that right? What a shame." Bai Jing looked disappointed.
"N-no that's not what I-" Yan Chen hurriedly spoke up but was interrupted again. Though this time it was Bai Jing doing the interrupting.
"Don't worry its fine, it would probably distract my cultivation if we lived together. It's not a good idea on second thought" Bai Jing waved him off.
Yan Chen glared towards Yan Gu with fire raging in his eyes.
Wanting to change the topic onto himself Yan Gu's demeanor became more serious as he spoke.
"Sister Jing, you previously asked why we came to the sect. Unlike Brother Chen, I came to fulfill a promise I made to you. Before I said that I would be the one to stay by your side and protect you in the future. I'm here now to prove that I am a man of my words." Yan Gu's gaze was intense.
"Mmmm, is that why you were scaring my new friends away. Am I not allowed to meet anyone new, only you can be by my side? Is that it? You better not bully any of them behind my back or I will be mad at you!" Bai Jing face turned into a frown.
"N-no that's not it. That Jiang Chen was-"
"Don't worry I have no intention of actually being with that fellow, he's not my type. I was just interested in him because of Uncle Fu. As far as my future partner goes..." Bai Jing shot an interesting look at Yan Gu.
"I'm more into the quiet and shy type, like you used to be Brother Gu. Ah, you were so cute back then, all I wanted to do was hold you in my embrace and see you squirm." Bai Jing shook her head, lamenting.
Yan Chen had an bewildered and ugly look on his face while Yan Gu looked dumbfounded, confused, and regretful.
"R-r-really?" Yan Gu managed to stammer out.
Bai Jing raised her brows as if she just got a message and hurriedly said towards the two Yan's who were contemplating their life, "I'm sorry but I have something important to do now, I need to go. We'll catch up later though."
Saying so Bai Jing taped on her sect token, giving her contact info to them. Then she gave them one last smile before walking off.
"Please excuse me Young Master Chen, Young Master Gu." Ying Ying bowed and left as well, but the two paid her no heed, only staring at Bai Jing's departing figure. Especially her exquisite long legs and the way her hips swayed and moved her short skirt sided to side and up and down.
Bai Jing was making her way towards the entrance of the Arena as disciples parted for her and tried to talk with her.
"Senior Sister I need a place to stay! Can I stay on your mountain?"
"Senior Sister, me, me pick me, let me stay with you! You wont even realize I'm there!"
"No me!"
"Goddess choose me!"
"Senior Sister doesn't want another of you filthy men to stay with her. That Fatty was just lucky and Senior Sister was too kind to decline him. Let me stay with you Senior Sister, please!"
Bai Jing ignored everyone's shouts and calmly walked towards the entrance of the Arena with excitement starting to bubble in her heart.
As she was exiting out from the crowd Jiang Fu appeared out of nowhere, standing near the Arena entrance. A few disciples noticed this causing them to shout
"It's the Vice Sect Master!!!"
"Vice Sect Master!"
"Greetings Vice Sect Master!"
All the disciples started to quiet down and bow in greeting. They all wanted to make a good impression on him and many were planning out how they could come up to him and start a conversation or receive some recognition.
Jiang Fu nodded his head with a smile and combed his moustache with his fingers, satisfied with everyone's respect.
"Uncle Fu!" Bai Jing called out after making her way out of the crowd, causing Jiang Fu to stick out his chest proudly.
"Little Jing you came. Hahaha, I was waiting for you, you're late I was worried!"
"Sorry I had trouble picking out my uniform." Bai Jing had stopped in front of Jiang Fu now with her hands behind her back and chest bent forward slightly.
"... I see that, as expected of Little Jing you always manage to stand out. Does that mean you have other uniforms modified like that?" Jiang Fu looked at Bai Jing up and down with a twitch on his lips.
"Of course, but not too many." Bai Jing paused, then said in a barely audible whisper, while leaning closer to Jiang Fu.
"Do you want to see me change into them? I'm a little nervous to wear some of them because they are a little too revealing. So we would have to do it somewhere private..."
Jiang Fu coughed into his hand nervously.
'What a troublemaker!'
"There's no need for that. Come follow me inside, everyone is waiting to see you."
The disciples started gossiping upon seeing the two's interaction.
"As I thought, they really are close. Look at how familiar the two are, so lucky!"
"Ya, didn't you hear her call him Uncle before. I heard the Vice Sect Master and Senior Bai Kong are sworn brothers and it's even thanks to him that Vice Sect Master got his position in the sect today!"
"Really?"
...
Bai Jing and Ying Ying followed Jiang Fu into the Arena.
Not many could hear Bai Jing's whisper to Jiang Fu but Ying Ying was one of them. She looked at Bai Jing with a puzzlement etched on her face.
'First she seems so intimate with that Jiang Chen fellow, then she allows that Fatty to stay with her, after that she says she was always into shy and cute guys like Yan Gu was, and now she said such a thing to Senior Fu. I don't understand, could she be going after all of them? The Young Miss cant be that type of woman right? Yan Chen is obviously the most handsome and more suited for her.'
'But, wait she also used to act like that with me too, is this my fault? Huh, maybe she just treats everyone as if they were a woman. I should try and educate her, but I've tried similar things before and she never listens. Only when I threaten the Young Miss will she listen.... whatever it is I'll be sure to prevent anything from happening between any of them.' Ying Ying clenched her fist with conviction.
'That Fatty, Shang Zhi I think his name was, is going to be the most immediate problem. I need to get some information on him.' Thinking as such she reached for her sect token and contacted Bai Leng.
"Your cultivation hasn't changed at all since I saw you." Jiang Fu said toward Bai Jing with a troubled look.
"Don't worry, I was busy practicing a new technique. I'll start cultivating seriously tomorrow, believe me. Now that those two fellas have reached Core Formation I cant have them think they can actually catch up to me." Bai Jing replied offhandedly.
"That would be for the best. Now, about Chumei..." Jiang Fu's voice trailed off.
"A bit impatient are we? I thought you wanted me to concentrate on my cultivation?"
"Ah, yes of course."
"Don't worry I was just kidding, I'll get to it eventually. I already have a few plans but I will need some funds and some time to educate you. Lets talk about it sometime after I make a breakthrough." Bai Jing winked towards Jiang Fu.
"That's fine, that's fine!" Jiang Fu smiled and nodded happily.
"What are you two talking about?" Ying Ying asked.
"Nothing don't worry about it, just matters of the heart." Bai Jing responded.
Ying Ying nodded her head suspiciously.
The trio chatted for a bit as they walked.
Soon they entered the Arena that seemed to be carved out of a yellow stone, it was a simple yet elegant design. In the center of the Arena was a large, gray, circular platform that had around a thousand women standing orderly on it.
All these women's gazes traveled onto the trio as they arrived. A majority of them had a mix of emotions like excitement, nervousness, and resolution apparent on their faces.
A smile appeared on Bai Jing's face as she gazed at everyone. A blue glow flickered in her eyes.
...
Earlier, while everyone was looking towards Jiang Fu and Bai Jing interacting. A certain disciple who had been following Bai Jing as she made her way through the sect, while muttering to himself, stared at a certain spot on the ground. This spot seemed to be where Bai Jing stood the longest while talking to Jiang Chen and his friends.
This male disciple had a look of resolution appear on his face as he walked towards the spot. As he got there he appeared to trip and almost fall down but something flashed and he regained his footing, looking embarrassed he then quickly left the area.
Nothing looked off about the area where he tripped except a portion of the ground seemed to have been shaved down slightly.
As this disciple left the area making his way through a crowd another disciple was looking at his departing back with an unknown expression on their face.
