Chapter 18: New Disciples

Bai Clan, within the courtyard of a certain villa.

"Haaa!"

"Haaa!"

"Hyaaa!"

A certain child was in a horse stance slowly throwing punches, clothes soaked, sweat pouring off his face dripping onto the vibrant green grass. The boy gave off a slight red aura from the extreme expenditure of Blood Qi.

On each of his limbs was a talisman giving off a slight amount of strange light and each time he punched out ripples seemed to be form in space around his fist.

"HuHu..."

The small boy was drenched and sweat, eyes squinted in exhaustion.

"Good, You're making excellent progress, Jing'er never trained this hard. However even then her cultivation speed still surpassed yours by far."

Standing a few meters away stood Bai Kong nodding in satisfaction, both bringing his son Bai Chao's spirit up and down.

The Body Tempering manual Bai Chao was currently practicing is part of a physique manual Bai Kong modified for his son.

Bai Chao has a spatial type spirit root but he was not born with any kind of physique. There are techniques that allow one to obtain a physique or progress their own physique, what Bai Chao is currently practicing is one of them. This technique will help create a physique that is more in tune with the spatial element earlier on. The original physique manual could only be trained starting at the Nascent Soul realm and was the best manual he had.

Bai Kong used his own physique and that manual, as well as a few lesser manuals to create the one Bai Chao is currently using with his Body Tempering. Bai Kong has been strictly supervising Bai Chao's progress to ensure everything was working as intended.

Typically the only cultivators who can cultivate spatial qi manuals are those with a space type spirit root or those with no elemental spirit root.

Spatial element manuals/techniques are especially strong and have an advantage over others. However, that is only in the later stages of cultivation, in the early stages of cultivation they are actually one of the weakest and slowest.

Those with no elemental spirit root who want to cultivate in the space element will typically cultivate a pure Qi manual until the Nascent Soul realm, where one can gain comprehension over space, then they will switch over to a spatial manual. That does not mean they will succeed though, as spatial manuals demand much of one's talent and comprehension.

Pure Qi Manuals are also one of the weakest manuals, usually only being above the spatial type. Though they are very diverse and typically allow one to switch to any other type of manual in the future.

So if one does not have a spatial spirit root, only those who are obsessed, confident, and/or have a spatial type physique or opportunity would cultivate a spatial qi manual at all, let alone in the early stages.

The training Bai Chao was currently undergoing would allow Bai Chao even more strength, comprehension, control, and understanding of space earlier and with more experience.

"Everything seems to be going well and you have gotten a good grasp over the training. I will be going into closed door seclusion soon and I will only be able to come out and check on you a handful of times until I am finished. Your Uncle Fang will be supervising your training in the meantime. Make sure to listen to him and your mother."

Bai Kong had a small smile on his face as he went over to pat his son's head who was wobbling with his hands on his knee's, refusing to collapse.

"Huhuhu... Yes!"

Bai Chao could only nod his head and weakly reply as he deeply breathed in and out sweat poring down his face and body.

After staring at his son for a moment in satisfaction, Bai Kong turned around and left the exhausted Bai Chao.

Seeing his father disappearing back into the villa Bai Chao relaxed his tired body and fell to the ground.

Rushing over from nearby with short steps was little Hua who was previously standing off to the side under a tree. She held a towel in her hand and began to wipe the sweat off of Bai Chao's body. Lifting his tired eyelids Bai Chao looked at little Hua and flashed her a smile. Little Hua responded with a sweet smile herself.

.....

True Origin Sect, atop Origin Mountain outside a large arena that stood near the center of the sect and was the largest structure on Origin Mountain.

"Alright the ceremony is over and now, you all are officially disciples of the True Origin Sect, Congratulations!"

A Middle aged Man stood proudly wearing a grey coat and a token with "Elder" carved onto it, hands behind his back.

Standing before him were a group of young men and women. Some were just children looking around eight years old, none of them looked older than twenty except one who stood out and wore a jade green uniform, contrary to the yellow uniforms all the others wore.

Other disciples of the sect were casually walking passed glancing at the new recruits, others were waiting by the side, seeming to want to interact with the new students.

"You youngsters follow him, the rest of you go to the Admissions Hall to find a residence if you don't already have one!" The man with the elder badge on his chest gestured to a disciple also in a jade green uniform besides him. The elder then turned around and walked away nonchalantly but sneaked a glance at a certain disciple in the crowd.

"Alright follow me and I'll show you to the academy, where you'll be staying and learning." Gesturing towards the young children at the front of the disciples, the group of kids hurriedly followed behind him.

After they left the rest of the new disciples were looking around, some went off on their own, some formed a group, and some seemed lost. Old disciples that were watching this by the side started coming forward shouting and greeting these new disciples and introducing themselves.

Within the crowd of disciples stood a particular male disciple standing next to a young and beautiful girl with silver hair, an adult male with stubble on his face in a jade green uniform, and a smiling fatty with blonde hair.

"Lets go find a good place to stay!" The young man casually spoke.

The three smilingly nodded in agreement.

"Follow me Brother Chen, I studied a map of the sect so I know my way around! Oh, and let me handle getting a residence for everyone I'm sure to grab some good ones near each other for us." The fatty flailed his arms around and slapped his chest in a loud voice.

"Lead the way." The young man nodded.

The fatty started walking off followed by the trio, through the dispersing disciples when a harsh voice cut in.

"JIANG CHEN, STOP RIGHT THERE!!!"

Furrowing his brows the young man who was about to follow the fatty turned around. Seeing the people who were arrogantly walking towards him his gaze sharpened and his body changed from relaxed to tense.

Leading a group of disciples in yellow uniforms was an arrogant looking kid with long black hair looking only around sixteen.

"Deng You, what do you want now, are you still unsatisfied? I don't mind beating you down again kid." The Young man, Jiang Chen, spoke with force.

Veins popped up on Deng You's forehead hearing this.

"Jiang Chen, with trash talent like yours how could you possibly pass examinations without that elder's token and your little bodyguard from a branch sect." Deng You furiously spat out.

Coming from behind Jiang Chen, the fatty who was leading the group came forward besides Jiang Chen.

"Stop bothering Brother Chen you noisy dog. You and your little followers should scram and stop making excuses. Forget Brother Chen and Hanyi, even I could wipe the floor with you." The fatty arrogantly swatted his hands around, covered in rings and bracelets.

A few talismans and a golden bell then appeared within the fatty's hands. These were all obviously treasures that could attack and defend among other things

The fatty was quite tall, around the same height and age as Jiang Chen. He had chubby cheeks and a big round belly that stuck out. He looked at least seventy kilograms heavier than Jiang Chen and his short, slicked back hair seemed to be dyed blonde... no, more like gold, and the black roots of his hair could be seen.

"Shang Zhi, your Shang clan is only a glorified bank. You and your clan may be able to dominate over those poor trash by throwing treasures at them but don't think that works on geniuses like me!" A sword appeared, floating in front of Deng You

"That's why your Shang clan has always been weaker than my Deng Clan! So what could a reject like you ever accomplish."

"You!" Shang Zhi growled, some of his treasures started to emit spirit qi fluctuations.

The Shang and Deng clan are both powerful clans, a tier lower than Bai Jing's. On the same level of the Pai Clan and some others.

From besides Shang Zhi, Jiang Chen placed a hand on his shoulder and told him to calm down.

"There are no battles allowed within the sect between disciples unless authorized. He just want's you to attack first so he has a reason."

Jiang Chen's sharp eyes locked onto Deng You's figure. Then with a smirk Jiang Chen spoke towards him provocatively.

"If your so eager to prove how much better you are than me lets head back to the arena and have a duel. What do you think?"

Deng You's face darkened and his fists clenched but instead of lashing out he closed his eyes for a moment, and after opening his eyes back up his anger had mostly dissipated and a slight smile appeared on his face.

"There's no need, the reason I stopped you is that I mentioned your little antics to my elder brother and he wanted to come see you for himself!"

Feeling good, Deng You crossed his arms arrogantly, the sword that was floating by his side vanished and a smug smile adorned his face.

Jiang Chen frowned at this, contemplating what he should do next. Sadly he had no time as a figure in a red and white Inner Disciple Uniform descended from the sky next to Deng You, gently floating above the ground.

This figure looked similar to Deng You and only looked a few years older.

"Brother you're here!" Deng You happily greeted the figure.

Pointing at Jiang Chen he continued, "Over there, that's the Jiang Chen I mentioned earlier."

Deng You looked back at Jiang Chen gloatingly while his elder brother was expressionless, staring straight at Jiang Chen.

Jiang Chen looked solemn as he couldn't immediately tell this person's cultivation level. Then utilizing his secret technique, he found the strength of this newcomer was somewhere in the late or peak of the Nascent Soul realm.

Also realizing the threat, Hanyi who was behind Jiang Chen wearing a jade green uniform, stepped forward, standing beside Jiang Chen. The small girl with silver hair also nervously stepped forward standing between Jiang Chen and Hanyi.

As the four stared at the man, he slowly opened his mouth to speak.

"So you're Jiang Chen? How interesting." The man's eyes glowed and the four of them felt a strong Divine Sense pressuring them and sweeping through their bodies.

The Inner Disciple shook his head.

"I don't see what's so amazing about you that the Vice-Sect Leader gave you his token."

"The Vice Sect Leader's token! That was the Vice Sect Leader's token?!" Deng You was startled.

Deng You's brother paid this outburst no heed, as he grabbed the sect token on his waist which flashed with light.

"You really only have a Mortal Grade Spirit Root, of the five elements at that. Your physique doesn't seem like anything special either. It's been a long time since someone with a mortal grade spirit root managed to become an Outer Sect Disciple, not to mention directly becoming an Outer Disciple, thanks to the Vice Sect Leader." The Inner Disciple started to stroke his chin thoughtfully, the glow in his eyes fading away.

"I really wonder what secret's you are holding? Or are you just another one the Vice Sect Leader misjudged? You may not know much about the Vice Sect Leader but It happens more often than you think. Although the Vice Sect Leader is famous for finding and unearthing peerless geniuses not all of them rise up to his expectations. Many have vanished, died, encountered an early bottleneck, developed mental demons, and many more. I wonder which you will be?" A smile finally appeared on his face as he finished speaking.

The Divine Sense that was pressuring the four of them dissipated and changed to only cover Jiang Chen. This time the Divine Sense that was previously like a heavy stone turned into a mountain, pressing Jiang Chen down in place.

Struggle appeared on Jiang Chen's face.

Seeing this Hanyi stepped forward, a spear appearing in his hand but Jiang Chen sent him a voice transmission telling him to stay back.

Hesitating a moment Hanyi acquiesce, stepping back but keeping his spear in hand.

With his knees buckling and sweat dripping from his face, Jiang Chen struggled to speak,

"What's with all the talking... Is that all you came to say? Is this supposed to be a threat, or are you trying to take revenge for your useless brother?" Jiang Chen gritted his teeth, looking ready for anything, his Qi rapidly flowing through his body and thumb rubbing a black ring on his finger.
