[Luke POV]
Thankfully everyone is alright. It has been three months since then. Most of the villagers have been stabilised and some fat returned from their nutrition. We have yet to arrive at a normal state but I can’t rush it.
The village also grew after Cynthia, the mercenaries, and some people decided to rescue the villagers abducted by the goblins. Some are in a state, that even I can’t stomach, I will make sure to treat them well. The population grew to 600.
I continued developing the village, I created a village square where everyone can hang out as well as some playground for the children.
The first project I made was the creation of a reservoir north of the village. We had to dig up a long canal and an artificial lake of 200 meters in diameter and around 30 meters deep. That took us a week of construction me, Sebas, 2 of the knights and 4 mercenaries. The lake was bigger than the current village.
A farm was set up near the lake wherein canals lined its sides, removing the gruelling process of having to transfer the water to farmlands manually.
To prevent liquefaction, due to excessive runaway of water, I ensured that the soil was compacted and siphoned the runaway water properly.
Sebas lined the new land with dirt walls where I would put new walls once we get more wood, for now, I’ll focus those resources on making more homes and other crucial elements.
The village roads were made from pristine graphene which was about 30 cm thick, I reinforced the soil underneath it by compacting it 5 times its original compaction.
Under it the sewers, although yet to be fully complete, I made sure to put the sewers as a top priority despite Sebas and the others insisting that the second wall is the priority.
“Walls would make us safe from the outside threat, and sewer would ensure our safety inside,” I told them.

I made three-story housing which can house 24 families each, I made around 5 of them. I used hardened wood and coated them with a few layers of graphene.
It’s weird but the mercenaries have asked to make a building for themselves too thus I complied. They seem happy about it. I added a training center for them.
I designed it so that each room had its toilet. With each house having a steady supply of water, I added a bathhouse for each building.
I made it a rule that everyone takes a bath at least once a day, many sounded their protest since the water is cold but I had none of it. Also boiling the water before drinking was also something I ordered to adopt. Hopefully, I find a way to make that automated too.
I mean I could but, I need to use the wood for other things right now. Next month should be wheat harvest hopefully our yield will be high. The finances ain’t that great.
I decided to make some products we can sell. First of all my hardened wood blocks can be sold as building materials. Next, I made some weapons using stone, my knights all use standard graphene equipment now. Also some of them are dating my villagers.
“Test this Sir Ian.”
“Alright.”
He swung his sword a few times.
“Hmm, it might be because I got used to it but these black swords are better in my opinion not only are they lighter but also sharper. Look here.”
He demonstrated this by cutting the stone sword in half.
“These swords have no equal.”
I modelled the sharpness of those graphene swords to obsidian, also at its very edge is around 10 atoms thick, giving it a precise cut.
“I guess I shouldn’t sell those huh…”
“Indeed your Highness.”
Anyway, I made one using hardened wood, coated in stone and graphene. I made it thin enough that no one would notice. It was a great gift for the adventurers.
Wait… carbon… if I can make graphene using wood by synthesising carbon…
“My god…”
“Your Highness?”
“We’re going to be rich, everyone. Get me wood!”
If this works… maybe I can fuse atoms… no, that might explode everything… but… I was able to synthesise graphene without ending the world…
I created 100% carbon using wood.

Shit.
“You need a gemstone?”
“That is correct.”
“I don’t understand?”
“I know…”
“Let’s just move on. Please submit your reports to me.”
“We were able to hunt minor dragons earlier.”
Cynthia said.
“Excuse me?”
“Your Highness we can eat meat.”
“Huh…”
