[Luke POV]
“His Highness Lucas Arthurias 6th Prince of the Kingdom of Arthurias, has entered.”
Everyone watched me as I walked towards the throne where the first queen sat, Queen Liliana Claudias. The current regent as the king is currently bedridden.
“Your Majesty, I would like to relinquish my succession rights and my title as a Prince.”
This is an otome game world, and the idiots that are my siblings will plunge this kingdom into a civil war which I want no part of.
More things happened after that with some back and forth, but ultimately, I was given independence and will be sent to the frontier. I could see my father’s queens snicker as they saw me leave.
The Prime Minister assigned 4 knights, a maid, a butler and some money. In addition, I was required to return to the capital in three years to enter the academy when I turned 15.
‘Shit’
In 6 years, this nation will implode itself as other nations will take it apart.

Even if I joined the fight for succession I would not stand a chance, even using the modern knowledge I have it is nowhere near enough to face what my siblings have. Unlike them my mother is from a fallen noble family, she was a maid who died when she gave birth to me.
The current crown prince, Athanasius Arthurias, is supported by two ducal families, the Claudias and Lancelot houses, well ultimately he will lose to the 5th Prince Robert, but that did not end without bloodshed. Being as far away from the capital as possible is essential for my survival.
I insisted that the butler and the maid who were close to my mother accompany me, I could not leave them there knowing what might happen in the future, in addition, Sebas insisted on joining me as well as Cynthia my maid.
Sebas was the one who spearheaded my magic and essential education and gave me all the resources I needed, unfortunately, my mana is so low, that I would qualify as a commoner. While Cynthia taught me how to use the sword to protect myself.
Throughout the years I managed to train myself to some degree in addition to learning the history and magical theories of this world, I invented a way to alleviate my lack of mana by using the mana in the atmosphere.

I hired some mercenary group that I found in a certain bar, they were fun. So I thought, why not? With that, we proceeded to the new territory.
Three weeks after that I arrived in the North West frontier. Although it’s far from the succession crisis it will be the first place where the invasion begins. Just my luck.
“Sir bandits seem to have taken over the village.”
“Sir Ian, please take the knights and save those people. Cynthia and the mercenaries will flank them. Sebas give me my sword.”
“Your Highness you can’t!”
“This is non-negotiable Sebas. Those people need help we will give them help.”
They bowed to me as they followed my orders.
After three hours, the battle had ended, and the village was saved.
As we entered the village I saw the run-down structures around me. I could see people who were just skin and bones.
“The previous Lord of this village has taxed the people so much to send his family to the capital, he now supports the 2nd Prince, Your Highness. And with the occasional bandit raids and goblins, these people suffered so much.”
“I pity them…”
“Sebas, you can no longer call me Your Highness, I have relinquished my position already. This village doesn’t even have its name, I guess the Queen wanted me dead.”
“You are technically still a prince Your Highness, only the King can remove that title from you, as well as your claim to the throne. As for the village, we can just name it later.”
I ignored his teasing as I moved my gaze outside the carriage windows.
“How can I save these people Sebas…”
“You don’t need to. If you want we can go to the nearest town and live there.”
“We can even flee the country if you want, east of us is the empire, while the north is the Demonic forest. With the four knights the Prime Minister assigned us as well as Cynthia and me, it won’t be a challenge for us to go there.”
“Abandon them?”
“Yes, Your Highness, most lords would do that.”
He told me while smiling.
“But you aren’t most Lords.”
I looked at him.
“You asked that question not because you don’t want to do it but because you want to.”
“... I don’t know how to get started.”
“Beginning is often the most difficult part of the journey, but worry not your Highness, we will be with you every step of the way.”
“Just give us your orders, your highness.”
“Well…”
Our conversation continued until we reached the house.
