[Lucas POV]
It has been over two months since the refugees settled in the village. Everyone has been acclimating well.
The winter has come but the village has lived up to its name.
The village’s shopping district is filled with people. Food items have been the buzz lately as well as board games that I made. Clothing is also popular recently since the farmers are on a break, many have decided to try other hobbies. Many have begun competing with themselves in chess and other strategic games.
Rowan’s company has also settled on buying a parcel of land from me despite my offering it for free. I had made a part of it but another part is under construction, engineers and architects from the university are spearheading the project. Some of them were masons and carpenters before entering the university.
There are a couple of companies that have been staying in the village. Many came from the capital and the empire. As some saying goes, ‘Wealth flowed like a river in Neverwinter’.
In addition to that without me knowing, some building codes have been made by them. Following the standards I have placed. Now, even I have to follow it.
Elves and dwarves from the forest in the north and mountains west of us have made contact, now they are participating in the university, economy, as well as the village’s manufacturing. Some wished to settle here.
Eleves decided to go to the magic theory and magic engineering department, while dwarves focused on the scientific and engineering departments. Humans, on the other hand, focused on finance, politics, and medicine. Though many still crossover.
I assigned Sebas as the Headmaster, and he bawled. I assured him that he was still my butler.
I found out Sir Ian has been dating the Village head’s daughter. Lucky bastard.
With the population now being 80,000, the guard now consists of 8,000 soldiers, the mercenaries and adventurers numbering 6,000 due to the discovery of multiple dungeons. Sir Ian has around 1,500 Knights in his order.
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Neverwinter has become the biggest village in the Northwest Territory, Roella now only has 5,000 while Romwell has dwindled to 40,000. Some even came from the Kaisel Domain.
The dwarves have been selling us some metals and crucial elements so I was able to make canons.
The guards still used swords in public but they were trained to use guns in the bastion east of the village. It is one of the most heavily guarded places in the village. The walls are made out of graphene and diamond, and canons lined the entire place, apparently they even hired some elves and dwarves to put enchantments on it.
The village has also begun trading with the empire, some spies have been sent but the Knights easily neutralized them.
Using the newfound knowledge I learned how to enchant diamonds. Due to their innate hardness, they were the best materials for enchantment. I tried graphene but it broke immediately.
First of all, I made simple stuff.

I made multiple boilers in the manufacturing district. I siphoned the heated water to different buildings thus removing the need for every building to have its own boiler. This reduces the noise and danger to residential areas.
Another thing I found out about them is that crystals with the absorption effect cause mana sickness so I had to move them further underground. Which not only reduced their effect on the populace but also made them more potent.
I guess making light sources out of them is not an option huh? At the moment the village uses oil lamps lined on the boulevard.
But boilers also had one important use…
“Your Highness! It works!”
“It does, doesn’t it?”
Some students tried making an industrial loom alongside the dwarves, they achieved it in just 1 month. They tried powering it with magic but it was too much, requiring 5 people to move it for an hour.
So, I introduced them to the power of the steam engine. The dwarves– no, everyone's mouths were agape when they first saw it. This is the power of 300,000 years of human progress in my world.
Before I used a macro version of capillary action to get the liquid up to higher floors but the water flow is indeed weaker on the higher floors with this… we can fix that now.
“Maybe we can attach this to carriages?”
One of the university students asked. It took me off guard but… I guess we’re going there huh?

I knew the day that it would come would arrive… I thought I could enjoy more time before they found out. The village council sat on the meeting room with three letters on the table.
[Neverwinter Tax Dues — Romwell Domain]
[Population Complaints — Kaisel Domain]
[Royal Summons — Arthurias Royal Family, Arthurias Royal Council]
“Now this is interesting.”
