"Hey man, I noticed how the guards were treating you. You, okay?" A man with blond hair came to Nick.
He was currently in the prison canteen minding his business after his routine of being taught about how essential the bones are to the human body.
He still had the Chaos Lord's crown on his head, it proved to be impossible to be torn down. Thanks to that he was the only prisoner that was different.
"Do I know you?"
"No, but you might as well get to know me."
"Sorry, but I don't swing that way." Hearing that the man had a dead eyed stare at Nick.
"Why be such a cunt?"
"Sorry I can't help it. It was just how you've said it that made it sound weird."
Before they could continue with their bickering a baton hit the table they were sitting at.
"Ladies the lunch has ended. Now get to cells."
"But there's still ten more minutes to eat." The blonde said.
A gasp of air left him. He got kneed in the gut. "There's no routine for you here, fiend. As for you Lord, let's have some more fun. We still haven't finished."
Nick guessed that was his cue to leave. So, he swallowed the last bit of what looked to be a bread with porridge and followed after the guard.
"By the way my name's Paul." The blonde has managed to say before getting dragged of by another of the guards. On his way to similar treatment.
As for the Prison itself it was a shit hole like one might expect. It was located in the outskirts of the city, camouflaged as just another factory.
Throughout the day there seemed to be people working, which were just another staff member of the prison.
The prison itself was located deep underground having a long spiralling staircase through the middle beam. Inside the beam were people that were tasked with keeping watch of them.
All around the beam were walls upon which were prison cells and in front of them a passage. There were hundreds of them, going down until they reached the ground where the canteen was located. There were tables and chairs all around while the food was delivered through the passages in the sides. Where also more guards would come out off if there was any trouble.
All this was, but one section of the whole prison. It had more layers just like this one. Right there in the deepest of the layers. On layer six was Nick's cell.
Right there sat Nick on his fidgety bed. He had broken bones and bruises all over his body, but they were visibly healing thanks to the Chaos energy. Thanks to that he was the perfect punching bag, or rather stress relieve toy.
In a meditative state he tried to feel and draw any mana or chaos energy towards him. But even as he did so it was incomparable to the quantity that was leaving his body thanks to the handcuffs. Yet he didn't fret as little by little he was isolating the Chaos energy within him. Splitting a small chunk out.
"You lot of lazy bastards. It's time to work. Get your asses out from your pig steads and get going down." A slightly fat man bellowed from the beam. His voice reverberating through the whole section and filling it with dread.
This was the sound of free slave labour. They came to the beam and waited for their handcuffs and leg cuffs to be tied with the others. As they were getting into rows Paul made his way behind Nick, which he took notice of.
"Why are you here?"
"I've accidentally fallen into one of the Dungeon cores as me and my team were completing our task. Then I experienced immense pain and we ended up outside the Dungeon where my team already got a task of capturing me." Paul quickly said while Nick stared at him.
"That wasn't what I meant. I asked you why you're following me."
"I can sense the Chaos energy within you." Hearing that Nick tensed, thinking his plan is about to fail before it even truly started.
"In contrast to others you've such quantity of it. Not to mention the suffocating feeling it gives off as I'm close." He said with what seemed to be a weird glint in his eyes.
Nick placed his hand on his shoulder and spoke. "Look. I know we all like different things and all that, but please don't include me in your fetish. Please leave that to yourself. Or if there's a doctor in this prison. Please get checked out about it."
Stolen novel; please report.
Hearing that he visibly paused trying to process the words. Meanwhile the guards came to them and bound them along with the others. All in all, they had hundred of such lines.
Upon entering into the beam, they were thrown pickaxes from up the beam. They were separated by a steel door, making it impossible to reach them. The pickaxe rain caused not so few injuries, but nobody minded the injured as they dragged them forward into the mines below.
Below was a stony circular area supported by the beam that was in the middle. All they had to do was dig beneath them and clear out a new section for themselves to be imprisoned in. Here was also the sole indication of time they had. A timer ticking down until the end of their shift.
It showed twelve hours remaining.
"Enough of playing around. Why are you here?"
"Because it's our shift and I prefer not to get beaten by the guards."
Hearing that Paul looked at him, emotions leaving his eyes as he thought about killing Nick.
"Okay, okay. I'm just joking. I'm in because I survived. Simple as that."
"It must not be so simple that it ended up in you slaving here."
"Well, the journey was complicated. But the why is still the same."
"Okay keep it to yourself. Then what about the headband you have on. Why did they not take it?"
"It's a Chaos Crown. I picked it up because it helped me to heal my dog. Now I'm stuck with it on my head."
"That does not look like a crown, but whatever. What about the dog did you save it?"
"Yes, I saved Bear."
"That's its name?"
"That's her name. What's so funny about it?"
"I mean naming a dog a bear."
"What about it? She looks like that. You should see her massive form."
"It seems you've been feeding her well."
"For sure."
They talked through the whole shift, interrupting them from time to time were the guards that came by sometimes.
"If I saw right the guards don't have any planned-out patrol. They come after fifteen minutes to thirty."
"How's that going to help us?"
"With that attitude no how. But if we will have a chance to break out it will be here."
"Do you have a plan?"
"That depends. Do you want to get out?"
"Yes, I do. Who wouldn't?"
"Okay, then. But I'll need you to do me a favour before I'll tell you."
"What will that be?"
"You see the guards. On their batons they have layered wires, the small circles. I'd need you to take one from them. Preferably two if you can manage."
"So, you getting beat up by the guards isn't just because you enjoy it."
"Yes, that's right." Paul said absentmindedly.
"Thought so."
"Wait I don't enjoy it." But before he could talk more, he saw a pickaxe flying through the air hitting one of the guards.
"That's what you get you cunt. You don't go and hit me without getting hit in return!" Nick shouted at the guards as they came rushing at him.
They didn't even have to do anything as the handcuffs released an electric impulse throughout his body. Yet he tried resisting.
"Don't you know who I am? I am Chaos Lord the one who'll spell your doom."
The guards were about to make sure he wouldn't be about to spell as they took him by the shoulders. Meanwhile the other prisoners looked on, without any sign of unrest.
They took him up the beam into his own cell. There then came one of the guards, in contrast to others he didn't wear a visor on his helmet.
"I've been informed by Telno about your stay here Mr. Willson. As I see you seem to be quite enjoying our hospitality." He said as he looked on amused at the pitiful state Nick was in. Kneeling on the ground bloodied and bruised, with hands and feet tied.
"Yeah, you all got quite a wellness opened up here. But I must say so, the massages are unbelievable."
"I'm glad to hear that." He snickered. "Now how about we give you something extra. After all I know how the lot of you love your Chaos energy."
They brought into the room a capsule along with some injections and tubes.
"You'll be begging to be killed only to be living through it second after second. Stretching till you go mad. Take it as this being the day one of our rehabilitation program."
"Wait what're you-" the guards tackled him to the ground and put a cloth in his mouth. They uncovered the capsule, revealing two liquids.
"Shhh. Now, now don't strain your vocals. You'll need them later." He petted his head.
"Just listen. We have prepared for you chaos energy in a liquid form. Great I know. Alongside acid. So what do you think now?" He said with a sick smile on his face as he looked on Nick as they were hooking it to the capsules.
They removed the cloth from his mouth, acting on the captain's orders. Waiting for what he has to say now.
He spat in the captain's face.
"Why do I even bother with you mongrels? Start it." He said as he wiped his face with a handkerchief.
He stood back and watched on as Nick started screaming. His skin peeling off, muscles tearing off his body yet it could not stop his breathing and screaming. His cells were being repaired just as they were damaged.
Like this he blacked out countless times, only to wake up thanks to the pain and repeat the process.
After what seemed like an eternity for Nick, but was no more than two minutes. The pain had stopped.
Nick lay there motionlessly on the ground. Blood and underneath him still sizzling.
"Mr. Willson you seem to be just like the rest of you mongrels. Even though you have that Lord status or whatever. But you all break the same."
Nick looked in front of himself and saw his nasty face looking at him. But other than that, he saw what previously was only illusionary like a mirage before him.
[Space Human]
The captain was about to leave together with the guards, but before he could he heard. “You’re no different than me. Chaos beings all of you!"
"What was that? Jake, Kyle have you heard anything?"
"No captain Hans." One of them said.
"Then make sure of it."
They both walked towards Nick, batons in hand. [Human] and [Star Reaver] was displayed above their heads.
As the first hit landed on Nick's body, he grabbed the guard's baton and took him to the ground. Laying there he used the guard's body as a shield from the attack. Having completed that usage, he was about to twist his head and kill him.
But the electric impulse came as magic runes got visible on his handcuffs. Yet he didn't stop gripping the guard's neck, trying to move his arms but an inch. In the doors of the cell stood the captain holding a button that was causing the electric impulse.
"You know what. You're starting to make me dislike you more and more. If things go like this, I fear for what you'll have to go through."
"Thanks for looking out for me. " Nick said as he slowly put down his arms. "One day I'll return the favour." The captain grinned at such words.
Thinking it was pointless to discuss anything further. The captain left while setting the electric impulse to last for a half an hour. Then he let the guards beat Nick.
