From the portal appeared a human along with a wolf by his side. The wolf laid there unconscious while the man had bloodshot eyes hidden behind his bangs.
Seeing the portal still not dissipating Nick threw his dagger. It pierced the abomination he was fighting with. As he did so he ran to the portal, not caring about anything else.
Yet he was too slow as it disappeared right in front of him. Just as he had his freedom at his fingertips.
He collapsed to his knees and looked to the sky. As if questing whichever higher power would do such a cruel thing.
Coming out of his reverie he said. "Man, what's your name? It seems to me we'll be here for a long time. So might as well get to know each other."
But no answer came back.
He looked behind himself to see the man devouring the corpse of the abomination.
"Of course, first of eat. We'll talk later on a full stomach."
But that wouldn't happen, because as he was eating, he burst into a cloud of dust disappearing in the wind. An overload in Chaos energy, unsupported by the required will to bear it.
"That was quite disappointing, but anyway man. Thanks for leaving your dog to me. I promise I'll take care of him."
He said and sat down before the dog waiting for him to wake up.
"I do wonder what name I shall give you as your previous owner didn't bother giving you a collar with a name."
Nick leaned forward booping the wolf's nose.
[Grey Wolf]
It turned its head tearing off Nick's hand in the process.
"What a bad dog! No wonder your owner didn't give you a name. If he did, he would end up calling you bastard at every opportunity anyway." The wolf hearing that seemed offended at his words, yet it was hurt too much to do anything about it.
It tried standing up, but found out it couldn't.
"Now you'll be in my care. So, what're you boy or girl. No matter I'll find out." He said as he regrown his hand, without any discomfort as if it’s a regular occurrence at this point.
He brought up his short sword and swung it at the ground. Bringing a cloud of dust into the wolf's eyes, he held its back leg as he flipped the wolf over.
"So, you're a she. Stop barring your teeth at me. It was necessary. It's not like you'd answer me out of your own volition." At that the wolf seemed to scoff.
"I'll be calling you Bear, because of the size you've got. Previous owner must have really been feeding you cows." He watched as Bear struggled in his grip. Squealing from unwillingness and the unfairness of the situation. She brough her fangs close to Nick's leg and bit down.
"You must be really starving. Don't worry I won't let you die of it. But I'll teach you some manners first Bear."
He brought up his other hand and started administering some tough love, in sense of beating her till she acknowledged him.

Not long after they were sitting around a body of the abomination feasting upon it.
"Say do you know why your previous owner exploded while eating?"

He looked at Bear next to him, only to see her shaking her head as to leave her alone as she ate.
"Yeah, I figured you wouldn't know. But have some manners while you eat. You nearly threw some of the blood into my eye." He said as most of his face was already bloody from eating.
After a while nothing, but bones remained of the corpse. Bear was still trying to eat them, but seeing as that would take quite some time Nick booked her head with one of them.
She looked at him with half classed eyes. As if saying what's your problem. "Don't look at me that way. Remember your training or else we can go through it a second time."
She squealed at that and left the bone unwillingly on the ground. She sat before him waiting for further instructions.
He patted her head. "I'll take some bones with us. For the road."
After preparing they started walking.
"By the way, do you happen to know the way out?"
Bear just scoffed at his ridiculous question.
"Thought as much."
Before they could move far away, they heard a roar reverberate behind them.
[Blood Titan] a golem like monster charged straight at them. It towered upon them as it inched closer to them.
It measured twenty meters in height and a few tons of weight to give it its mass.
Seeing as there is no point in running away as mere one step of the titan would equal to Nick's six. He steeled himself as he welcomed the first strike dodging it to the side.
"Bear, come now's your chance. Bite his ankle." He said, but got no response in any way.
Turning his head he saw Bear already twenty metres away from the fight. She stood there looking how it'll go.
"Okay, then I guess I'll just go fuck myself." Nick turned his head back around, but it was too late as he saw the Titan's fist already enlarging in his vision.
He got ejected into the air, tumbling into the distance. He fell against one of the weapons. Were it not for each and every weapon pierced by the tip into the ground. He'd end up getting the Dracula's favourite execution method.
"Look man, learn to be more delicate. Like if you're playing with a doll. As that could've really hurt me." He sat up coughing out blood. He saw that not far from him a battle was ongoing.
Bear against the Blood Titan.
"I should bet some money on this. Considering how it's going Bear's stakes would be probably about seven against Titan's maybe miserable one point something."
Looking at the battle for a while gloating he saw Bear getting her shit beat out of her. He looked on with a smirk at her unfortunate time, she made for herself.
"I guess it's my time to make seven times the profit."
I shouldn't be such a bastard. Nick thought to himself, seeing as if he did nothing, he'd end up dying.
He rushed to battle in the Titan's blind spot, going for his ankle. Nick concentrated mana on his blade and struck while wind accompanied his hit.
As blade plunged into its skin it opened up a massive cut, bringing the Titan to knees.
But alas trying to take his sword out it didn't budge as the muscles around it started closing off.
The Titan rotated and struck with his fist at Nick in retribution. Not missing such an opportunity Bear leaped on the Titan.
She tore into his neck, tearing chunks of flesh out. The Titan realising how dire the situation was started oozing out a dark aura. It started melting Bear's paws, but she didn't mind it as she was in the frenzy ripping parts out.
The Titan brought its arms up trying to get the pest off him. Yet Nick seeing the lack of guard jumped forward.
In hands gripped daggers as he plunged them into his red glowing eyes. But that proved to only enrage the Golem as he radiated outwards an impulse off energy.
Throwing them into the distance, the Titan chased after Bear, relaying on the leftover energy on him to pinpoint his location.
His fist was towering over her as it came flying downwards. But in the last second a war cry sounded out as the Titan was about to make a meat paste out of Bear. The Titan went tumbling down as Nick pulled out and slashed both of its ankles. Mana flowing along the blade.
He jumped on top of the Titan and sorting on him, he came upon its neck. About to plunge his sword inside he was gripped in the Titan's hand.
But not even the feeling of having his bones squished stopped him from using his [overdraw strength] and piercing his sword straight through the Titan's neck.
He felt the grip loosen as he came tumbling down. On the ground he felt the dust brushing his face as blood flowed around his body. It was his own mixing with the Titan's.
He laid there down strength to do anything non-existent.
"Now you came here. Bear give me a greeting." He called out to the approaching wolf as it barred its fangs at him.
It circled behind him, out of his field of view.
"Now, now we wouldn't want any bad feelings between us Bear. So, look I'll give you a treat for your not so optimal, but appreciated help in battle." Nick said and took out a broken bone. He wiggled it in the air for a while, waiting for what would happen.
After a while he saw Bear's fangs above himself. Thinking this would be it, dying in the teeth of his own pet he closed his eyes.
A silence overtook the area. Before he felt a wet feeling on his fingers. He saw Bear licking the bone he presented her.
"What a good girl. Choosing bone instead of her master. I couldn't be more proud of you." He said wiping away the crocodile tears he somehow got on his cheeks.
