In the desert of dust, Nick and Bear could be seen facing off another one of the Blood Titans. Nasty things they are, both parties.
But what's more interesting is the structure that stands behind the Titan. It looks to be a worn-down tower. But kilometres around it was nothing that could be younger.
Bear ran between the Titans legs tearing at its ankles. Meanwhile Nick was keeping its attention on him. He threw daggers at it; they had a light glow of mana around them as they travelled through the air.
They sunk deep into its flesh. Enraged by such actions the Titan threw its fist at Nick. Not worried, Nick stepped back for twenty metres. Effectively dodging the blow, all the while throwing daggers at the Titan.
When Nick got twenty metres away, he drew his sword and watched the Titan as it came tumbling down towards him. Its head landed just by his feet kicking up dust in the air.
He didn't do much else than sending the Titan on his way. One quick mana infused hit to the neck was all it took.
"Good job Bear. I myself couldn't have done it better." Nick said as Bear came to him. He rubbed her behind the ears as she wagged her tail.
Since tearing his hand of she got better at tearing things apart. If she was in a home, she'd for sure make a mess of the furniture thanks to that. That is if there was a home that could house a three metre furball.
"Now let's get to eating. Help me prepare the meat please." Nick pointed to the Titan as both of them drooled at the sight of the sheer amount of meat there was.
Since they had the last Titan, it was already a few weeks. All that time they spent travelling to nowhere and fighting what they encountered on their way. While sometimes Nick would fight with the Chaos Carriers of dagger and sword weapons.
He fought against other users, but found them to be not suitable for his fighting style.
Now he had a collection of different daggers he had tied up in bandages and swung over his shoulder. As for his main weapons it remained a longsword.
They settled around a piece of meat they had prepared and started eating.

He found out that after Chaos broke through ten it started to get exponentially more difficult to gain more of it.
As for his Bladed skills, he was pushing towards hundred percent steadily. He felt as if he was about to grasp something higher.
They ate the whole corpse leaving only bones behind. Even that, not all of them as Nick picked up some for Bear. While Bear buried the rest in the dust.
She did that for every bone she found. It was quite pointless as they never went back, but at least it was kind of cute.
"Bear, stop piling up the dust. The bones are already buried well enough. Let's go and explore this tower." Nick tapped against the stone structure. It was missing a door as he walked through the doorway.
Inside was just like the outside with the sole place of interest being a cellar hatch. It was made out of some metal while on its surface pulsated runic characters.
He felt as Bear came to him and started sniffing at the hatch. She wasn't feeling right as she dug with her paw into the ground.
"Don't worry. There's nothing that serious that could happen to us now. Don't you think that maybe this will give us a chance of getting out."
She looked at him with pleading eyes as if not to do what he was about to. She even was even growling a bit at the hatch.
"Now, now." He petted her, forcing her to calm down. He motioned for her to stand back which she did.
He tried opening the hatch. But even using all of his strength he couldn't do it.
"See after all that. It's just a fucking joke. Great now I'm going to be stuck for my whole life. No maybe even more." He paced around the room and Bear with him, as if to see what he was up to.
"No, I can't. No, we can't have that." He said and rushed to the door pummelling it with hits but the hatch didn't budge.
Seeing that he activated his strength overdraw along with pumping some mana into his fist and struck the hatch. Under his blow he felt it creak and as it felt his mana it opened by itself, bringing up a cloud of dust.
Nick started coughing. "Who would have thought that all you needed was a few love taps. You agree, right Bear?" She snorted at him for saying such nonsense with a straight face. Even more so as she saw his fist a bloody mess.
She came to him and started licking his wound.
"It's nice to be cared for." He said with a grin adoring his face.
He hopped her nose as his hand was already healed up. "Now, now enough of that. We should move on and explore this place."
Hearing that Bear nodded her head as she licked the blood off her fur.
They descended down the stairs that were behind the hatch. They were spiralling downwards while along the way magical orbs lit the path as they passed by.
"What do you think Bear? Should we loot this place? If anything, these lights look expensive." He said as he tapped on the orb. Having his finger on it he sensed the swirling mana within.
Meanwhile Bear ignored him and continued down the stairs. "Alright, alright I'm on my way. Geez it was a joke. Kind of."
Arriving at the bottom of a staircase they came upon a metal door with the same runes as the hatch. Bear looked at Nick to quickly do his thing.
"Prepare to receive the power of my fist hell gate." He swung his fist at the door with all his might. But at the last minute changed it into a tap with his fingertip clad in mana at the door.
Bear seeing it click as it unlocked pushed the door open, ignoring her childish owner behind.
What lay before them was a massive room. Where there were marks all over the ground. They stretched from all parts of the room and converged in the middle where a red light glowed from underneath.
Walking towards the middle they saw holes in the ground. The holes were placed in locations where the lines crossed.
"This seems oddly disappointing. What am I supposed to do bleed all over the floor and perform some ritual." Nick said as he stepped into the middle. There were some runes arranged in a circle, but he didn't understand shit.
On the other hand, Bear looked at him with expectations as if waiting for him to bleed on the floor. Which he did.
He cut his veins and let the blood flow as he ran around the room. Like he was a maniac. Which fair enough, he was by the look that Bear was giving him.
When every inch of the lines were covered in blood, he waited for some change to happen. Which it did the blood started glowing red and nothing. "I expected something more, but whatever. I guess we have to place something inside the holes."
Bear barked at him agreeing with him on something for the first time.
"So, the weapons. They are the only thing that stays the same." He took out the bone that was slowly being turned to dust. Now only a half of it remained. He tossed it at Bear which she ate in one bite as a snack.
"There seems to be one hundred of the holes. That'll take some time getting them. But no matter it's worth a try."
They were heading out, the way they came.
"But first off I should pocket this just for safe keeping." Nick came to one of the walls and jumped, reaching for the mana orb. But he didn't get it and it fell straight down the stairs.
He watched as it cracked with each step it landed on. As it settled down on the last one it radiated out an intense glow.
Before Nick could find out what's happening an explosion deafened his senses. Opening his eyes once again, he saw scorched stones at the end of the staircase. Other than that, he saw the light at the end start giving off more light starting a chain reaction.
"Whoever made this was a genius. Exploding lightbulbs what an idea. Two uses in one device." He talked to himself as Bear looked on what she was dragged into. They both ran up the stairs the area behind them being swallowed up by flames.
