[Abomination slain
+Acquired memory fragment]
Nick felt a shard appear in the back of his mind. Concentrating on it, he felt as if he could shatter it.
He left it alone for now as a deep craving overtook him as he felt the blood on his fingers.
Licking it in curiosity just made it worse as his body begged him to consume more of it. Devoid of any thoughts he did consume every bit of the creature. Until nothing, but bones remained.
[+5 Chaos
+Worm Dragon gene] was displayed on his interface.
"Fucking hell." He started gagging trying to throw up the meat. As he was now in full control of his actions. "I never thought about becoming a cannibal. But you never know what happens. Besides it's not like it looked human enough to begin with."
He looked around for his dagger. Looking only under him as not to accidentally look at other weapons.
"Oh, there you are mister Dagger. I was worried there for a second. You shouldn't go wandering off." He said with a smile as he found it tossed near one of the bones.
The bone was slowly being turned to dust as he grazed his hand against it. He paid it no mind and looked around.
He still saw the leftover carcass of the grilled abomination still laying in the distance. His mouth watered a bit at the thought of devouring it, yet he averted his eyes for now.
Rather than that he felt his own body healing bit by bit. The pain fading away as he felt an energy cruising through his veins.
It had a different feel than the mana that made its own pathways in the body. He felt as if he could control the energy to flow into his missing arm and so he did.
He felt an overwhelming pain assault him. Bones sprouting, muscles elongating, nerves coiling around them until finally the skin crawled last.
Moving his arm around he felt normal. He let go of the breath he was holding in and started laughing at the ridiculousness of the whole situation.
"This whole thing is like a fever dream. What's the next thing that's gonna happen?" He shook his head. "I don't even wanna ask."
"But who the fuck would even answer me." He looked at his dagger. "Right, Nick. I know mister Dagger."
"Fuck this is stupid." He was about to throw Mr. Dagger away, but decided against it as that's the only weapon he got here. As for the inventory he couldn't use it, not even see it in the interface.
"This is fucked. Why does everything work other than what I need the most right now. Even chatting with Telno would help right now. But at least I still have..." He opened his system interface and looking through it he found something new.
[Available genes: Worm Dragon]
He tried activating it with his mind. It condensed the chaos energy inside him.
He got an intuitive feeling of how to use it. Letting some of the energy leak out on his skin he saw black scales emerging from it.
"This is stupid." He stabbed the scales on his arm. The dagger bounced away, bringing a small scratch across. But after a while it wore down as he wasn't actively supplying it Chaos energy.
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Seeing it working, he brought his sight back to the carcass that was left on the ground. He came there, careful not to look at any of the weapons that were along the way.
"I'm sorry, but this is how things are."
[+3 Chaos
+Poisonous porcupine.]
After a hearty meal he got an idea. A stupid one, but still an idea nonetheless.
He looked at the ground before him. There stood the Giant sword. As if on call the Chaos Carrier picked it up.
But this one was different than the last one. Taller and bulkier than the last Carrier. He appeared to bow as if in greetings.
Nick did the same only to hear a whistling sound in his ears. His head started spinning as he saw a bleeding body behind him. It was his body.
"For fucks sake. We're doing underhanded tactics now huh." He dusted himself off as he stood up from the ground. Head splitting as he got a headache. Partly from the overload of the Carrier's experiences. Well and partly from letting some air into his head.
"Cunt." He spat on the ground. Before once again staring at the Giant sword.
The Carrier took it in hand and as if to mock him. This time it didn't bow.
It charged at him bringing dust in its wake as it slashed the sword horizontally. Nick took a step back, not willing to split himself into two. Even though he could do twice the work that way.
The Carrier pressed on giving him no chance to strike back. When suddenly he over swung.
Taking the chance Nick rushed forward going for a strike to the side.
Yet as in on cue he felt the same rush of wind coming for him. He activated his dragon skin to cover him, but it was no use.
He saw the Carrier swinging his sword vertically as wind enveloped it.
Ending in the same treatment as last time.
*
Having his head ventilated a few times helped as he sat before the Giant sword. Clenching his dagger and mumbling. Spikes were growing from his skin. While his body was twitching and morphing in different ways.
He brought his dagger up to his neck.
But shook himself awake just in time.
"Fucking hell."
Yet he didn't put down Mr. Dagger. He seemed particularly fine to him right now. But in the end, he dropped it off.
Breathing with ease he sat in a meditative position. Taking in deep long breaths he calmed himself down and pondered upon the situation at hand.
"Be calmer, much more calmer." He muttered, believing that'll help him. "I'll just try it one more time and if it doesn't work out, then I'm off."
With renewed vigour, he stood up and looked at the Carrier that took out the Giant sword again.
He didn't give it time to do the first attack as he rushed forward. Yet the Carrier still managed to swing a horizontal cut at first.
Expecting that Nick slid down while running. He slid down between its legs and appeared behind it.
Nick pierced his dagger into its back and activated his new gene. Putting a few porcupine needles in the mix.
The Carrier came swinging back, but Nick managed to retreat in time. Or so he thought as he felt his hand being grabbed.
He got pulled closer and received a knee kick to his guts. Clutching his stomach while trying to breath he heard once again the sound of wind coming for him.
He leapt forward onto the Carrier as he felt something missing. He ignored it as he tackled the Carrier on the ground.
Bringing his dagger up to the Carrier's face, he was about to plunge it in. But the Carrier reacted in time, clenching his hand, while the dagger was piercing through it.
But it didn't matter as Nick made spikes come out his other hand and plunged it into its neck. The Carrier tried throwing him off, but it proved to be difficult as he hanged on the spikes.
Seeing as that won't work. The Carrier started pummelling Nick blow after blow. As Nick was firing the spikes deeper into its muscles, bones even.
Until the struggle stopped.
The hood fell of revealing the orb. It came flying right at Nick. He didn't have a chance to dodge, although he didn't need to.
It settled in his mind right next to the shard, waiting there for him.
When he saw everything was done, he tried getting up. Only to not feel anything at all in his legs. He looked behind himself. There laid his other half with a sizeable bloodstain that continued until his torso.
He laid on his back, looking at the clouds. "So, even now I'm going out the old-fashioned way." Not long after he felt the darkness overtake him as he felt the chaos shard inside him stir.

He woke up once again dust covered. But this time it indeed was different. There was no splitting headache, no muscles twitching or any kind of discomfort.
He probingly looked at the Giant Sword before him.
Seeing nothing happening, he sighed at that.
"What a fucking cunt you were. Now, what to do?"
Nick said and plopped to the ground with his back leaning against the Giant Sword.
Nick wondered as he looked to the distance. He spent quite a while just taking in the view, before he decided to check out one of the shards.
